This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review XTC - Oranges & Lemons.
Oranges & Lemons is a brehsive album by virtuoso band XTC filled with quirkiness. Andy Partridge wrote the entire album himself. Molding performs using his instruments as usual. XTC has released yet another classic album. Oranges & Lemons is just as good as the Nonesvch album. XTC takes an approach at lighthearted humor on this album.
Scarecrow People deal with people in society who can't and don't think for themselves that are programmed to be robots in order to comply with government standard set upon society's warped views. Or in this case robots have been replaced with scarecrows metaphorically speaking. No one gives a damn about thinking for themselves. People who don't have any brains and hearts are not very compassionate. (Not in a literal sense.) The scarecrow people eating that have chemicals injected in them.
One of the millions is about how Moulding is one of the millions of people aren't akin to the 80s thing. The 80s thing being the glam rock trend of that era. XTC was more pop and punk rock at the time. Rock was the trend of the time period back then. So Moulding uses that music genre as an example of trend.
Garden of Earthly Delights is a quirky XTC song about letting the dreams in your imagination run wild. It can be anything. Garden of Earthly Nights by XTC was compared to Arabian Nights repeatedly.
I rate this album, Oranges & Lemons, 4/5****.
