This is Michael Mixerr. Tonight I will review MODK - Butter and Water! EP.
MODK is Mindz Of a Different Kind similar to how BODK is Brothers Of a Different Kind. Although their naming concepts are the same, these rap groups mentioned are not the same musically as both come from different decades of time. Butter and Water! is an unearthed “diamond in the row” album that came from the Austin Hip Hop/Rap scene that is truly unlike no other album that came out in 2014 or 2015. Most of the production is handled by unknown producers such as Ruler Why?? and Akutyguile while DJ Zetroc performed the cuts. The sound is quite abstract. Think electronic meets down south rap. Majority of this here EP relies on the sounds of southern rap. Most of this album, or better yet, EP, is quite funky!
I rate this EP, Butter and Water!, 4/5****!
