Not much is known about the Frankentrost School in Reese, Michigan. It’s history seems to have been forgotten somehow. It’s history needs to be exposed very much. Frankentrost School is one of the many forgotten Michigan schools.
Frankentrost School was probably built sometime in the mid-19th century during the 1800s. The school was built as a typical one-room school building during the 1800s. Roof for this building bared resemblance to a roof seen on top of a church. There was only one door for the front entrance. Its school district was Frankentrost School District #2.
Frankentrost School was closed down and consolidated into the neighboring Reese School District for Reese, Michigan in the year of 1966 during the 1966-1967 school year. The school building was converted into a residence in 1972. From 1973 to 1998, the school building was modified and several renovations were made to it.
Today the Frankentrost School is now home to an adult foster care business called Karen's Afc Home. Karen's Afc Home now owns and maintains its grounds. Karen's Afc Home has owned the building since 1996. From the beginning, Karens Afc Home is an assisted living facility.
Frankentrost School is located at 10015 East Washington Road, Reese, Michigan, US 48757.
