Loveland Farm Cemetery is one of the few cemeteries of Mahoning County and Youngstown that has been long forgotten and remains unused. Not too much history is known about this cemetery.
Loveland Farm Cemetery was established on the Loveland Farm during the early latter half of the 19th century. Members of the Loveland family were buried in this cemetery. Earliest known recorded burial is Cynthia Loveland who was born in 1798 and died on September 16, 1815. She was 17 years of age at the time of her death. Her tombstone inscription reads “Cynthia Loveland Born -1798 Died - September 16 1815 17 years” She was the daughter of Amos Loveland who served in the Revolutionary War 2nd Connecticut Regiment in 1780. According to a quit claim deed from the heirs of David Loveland and Ohio Genealogical Society Mahoning Chapter, disinterred bodies buried at Loveland Farm Cemetery were moved to Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio on November 30, 1908. David Loveland purchases a burial plot in Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio. Some parts of the tombstones from this cemetery were stored in a barn.

Use of Loveland Farm Cemetery ceased in 1909. Sometime during the 1940’s is when the cemetery property was sold on a quit claim deed and warranty deed to the current owners who have been living on said property since then. (Ref: Mahoning County Deed Records Vol. 142, page 534)
This cemetery property has been sold and purchased a few times over the years. Loveland Farm Cemetery was sold for $61,600 in January 11, 2002. Daniel P. Champion sold Loveland Farm Cemetery to Stephanie L. Champion on the date of 01/24/2002 for a price of $61,565.00. Stephanie Olesko fka Stephanie L. Champion sold the land to ALLIED ERECTING & DISMANTLING CO INC on the date of 12/11/2008 for a price of $50,000. According to Mahoning County Auditor, ALLIED ERECTING (ALLIED ERECTING & DISMANTLING CO INC) currently owns the property. ALLIED ERECTING owns mineral rights to this property also. The tombstones have been removed and the cemetery is now vacant land. According to Ohio Genealogical Society Mahoning Chapter, a tombstone for the burial of Elizabeth Loveland is missing. Only a partial stone of her tombstone left is what remains.
