Mixerr Album Reviews #1,889

Broken Bracelet is the debut album from Michelle Branch. Michelle Branch self-produced her debut album Broken Bracelet in June of 2000. The album is a compilation of songs she wrote as a teenager. Her debut album was released on the independent label Twin Dragon Records. The title of this album was inspired from a bracelet made given to her by a musician named Steve Poltz at a Lisa Loeb concert she had attended. Steve Poltz told her that "when it breaks, you'll be famous." Her bracelet was made by pop singer Jewel.

80%-90% of this whole album is love songs. Not surprising seeing how this is Michelle Branch we’re dealing with here. I’ll Always Be Right There and Second Chances are motivational songs with an inspirational touch to them.

I’ll Always Be Right There is a heartwarming love song about how Michelle will always be there right by your side when you need her support. The song is good for someone who is need of emotional support.

When you need someone to guide you, Michelle will be right there for you. When you're all alone and you need a light to guide you through the night. Just remember that she is here. When you're all alone and you need a friend to help you to the end, she is there for you. Just remember that she is here to hold you close and dry your tears. When you need someone to catch you when you fall, she’ll be there through it all. She’ll be there through the good times and the bad. Whenever you need her, she’ll always be right there.

You Get Me is about how Michelle is an unordinary person in a mixed up world and about how everything is okay if she has her man. Not being ordinary in a mixed up world is not exactly a bad thing. So what if you’re a little left of center or a little out of tune? Nobody is perfect.

So what Michelle is a little left of center or a little out of tune? Some people say she is paranormal. Some people say she is crazy. Who wants to be ordinary in a crazy, mixed-up world? Michelle doesn't care what they're saying as long as she has her man. Her man gets her when nobody understands. He came and took the chance by being with her.

Verse 2 gives us some imagery what goes on inside of her wild mind. You’ll never know what you'll find if you look inside her wild mind.

[Verse 2]
So what if I see the sunshine
In the pouring rain?
Some people think I'm crazy
But you say it's okay
You've seen my secret garden
Where all of my flowers grow
In my imagination
Anything goes

The song Second Chances is about second chances in life. Sometimes we get second chances. Sometimes we never make it past the first chance we get. It really makes you wonder why some things happen. When they do it really makes me wonder why it wasn't me instead of you. All it takes is a mistake to ruin a second chance. Sometimes we never see that warning.

I rate this album 3/5***.
