Mixerr Album Reviews #273

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will re-review the self-titled Freaky Live album from 1995 on Deep Thought Productions and DOA Productions from Flint, Michigan. I made some errors. So I need to do corrections.

Deep Thought Productions was the label of DOA and Freaky Live in the 1990s. (DTP produced mostly rap and rock.) This self titled album came out on cassette only with seven songs. The trio consisted of a DJ, Dukeman, and Troubleman. The front cover letters resemble an Esham, Natas, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Flag, and ICP letter type font from the early 90’s and 00s.

What Hood U From? is a dedication track and a shout out to all the neighborhoods in Flint such as Sarvis Park, Bedrock, Northside, Southside, Eastside, Westside, Downtown Flint, Fleming, Terrance, King Hood, Dewey Hood, Mott, Dayton, Rigsby, Merril Hood, Sonny, Proctor, Pasadena, Selby Hood, Pierson Hood, Rankin, Mason, Odette, Beecher, Flint Park, Mt. Morris, Grand Blanc, Terrece, and Civic Hood. On a side note, Flint Town was going down at the time of this song. (You can catch my drift.)

Dickwhipped is a song about having sex. The term “dickwhipped” is similar to the term “pussywhipped”. Dickwhipped means your partners sexual prowess is so addictive that you are a slave to it. Of course it’s explicit lyrics are not to be mentioned to our kids. Not for kids ears of course.

The Intro was dope. The Outro not so much. I was expecting 16 tracks instead of just 7 tracks. The rest of the album not that good unfortunately.

I rate this self-titled album, 3/5***.
