Tampke Cemetery claimed to be one of Bexar County’s oldest cemeteries.

Tampke Cemetery is claimed to be one of Bexar County’s oldest cemeteries from the 1830s in existence. There are graves dating back to the 1830s and 1850s. One of the burials at this cemetery goes back to 1837. The burial of Caroline Schley Tampke goes back to 1877. This is a small family cemetery on a piece of what used to be the Tampke Family Ranch. Tampke Cemetery is also known as “Tampke Steubing Cemetery”. The gravestones are underneath a large oak tree and brush.
