Yellow Rose Arcade is one of the forgotten arcades of Austin/Travis County that has faded away from time and people’s minds. This news article will attempt to explain the history of Yellow Rose Arcade.
Yellow Rose Arcade operated from 1982 to 1989. Deanna Burks and her father owned and operated Yellow Rose Arcade. Games such as Asteroids, Blowout, Frogger, and Marble Madness were available at Yellow Rose Arcade. The building was a white building that had a white colored roof. Yellow Rose Arcade was part of the Bergstrom Village Shopping Center which was located next to the Bergstrom Arms 
Many of the students from Popham Elementary School and Del Valle High School played the video games at Yellow Rose Arcade during the 80s. Del Valle High School students would play the video games in this arcade during lunch time to pass their time and for fun. Weekdays were the times where Yellow Rose Arcade would receive the highest volume of customers.
According a 1988 edition of the Cardinal Yearbook, Yellow Rose Arcade offered students free games for perfect attendance if they actually had perfect attendance. Free games were even given to honor roll students as well. (Ref: Del Valle High School Cardinal Yearbook, Page 211, 1988)
For whatever reason, Deanna Burks and her father decided to shut down Yellow Rose Arcade and discontinue operations. The building became a club called ON THE OTHER HAND which operated for a number of years. Exactly how many years is unknown. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/364020321/)
In 2004, the building was demolished as part of the Airport Noise Mitigation Program which required some businesses and residences to not be within 200 feet - 500 feet of an airport. Bark & Zoom Hotel now presides over the property where Yellow Rose Arcade was once located. Their parking lot is now property of Bark & Zoom Hotel.
Yellow Rose Arcade was located at 2411 Cardinal Loop, Del Valle, Texas, US 78617.
