Tidbits of history about Rose Hill Lutheran Church explored again.

Rose Hill Lutheran Church is one of the forgotten churches of Manor, Texas. Not too much history is known about this church or has been documented. This news article will explain the history behind this Lutheran church of course.

Rose Hill Lutheran Church was constructed by a group of Lutherans in 1890 with the help of 18 people and their families at the location of Rose Hill Lane, Manor, Texas, US 78653. Here Rose Hill Lutheran Church would be built on land 1½ acres of land that was owned by Henry Nelle. Henry Nelle donated 1½ acres of for a church the same year. The charter members selected their first officers which were William Luedecke and Ferdinand Meier. 2 pastors were ordained to the church in 1891. Fritz Voelker donated an organ to Rose Hill Lutheran Church in 1893. (Ref: https://books.google.com/books?id=NcY1AQAAMAAJ)

Religious teachings were the same as those of the Rose Hill Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation, Rose Hill Methodist Church congregation, and Rose Hill Church congregation. All of the teachings were Christianity based with faith-based initiatives. (Ref: Rose Hill Evangelical Lutheran Church Records, 1981)

Another building which acted as a chapel was installed along side the building. Overtime renovations were done to the chapel. An installation of an additional room was made sometime during the 20th century. This additional room was a chapel. Overtime renovations were done to the church. Sometime in the 20th century is when more money was donated.

1924 was the year Rose Hill Lutheran Church and its congregation merged into St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin. The building was used as an addition for St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where it currently sits today. Rose Hill Lutheran Church was disbanded that year.
