Exploring Wilderness Cave in San Antonio, Texas.

Wilderness Cave is one of San Antonio’s lesser known caves. This cave is located on the Canyon Springs Golf Club behind 1418 Pinnacle Falls. Hardly anyone knows about this cave which is because Wilderness Cave is hidden behind a plethora of trees and shrubbery in the wilderness.

Hardly has ever explored this cave. Nor have there been images uploaded to the internet to be publicly made. No images of Wilderness Cave are available publicly anywhere online or offline.

The only person known to have explored Wilderness Cave is a surveyor named Pape Dawson. He left an embedded iron rod with a yellow cap marked “Pape Dawson” on the northeast corner of the cave while surveying land for the future Canyon Springs Golf Club on the date of April 5, 2002. The cave had been previously set aside in a 3.5 cave preserve. (Ref: Bexar County Land Records, Volume 9645, Page 1089)

The date to submit occurring final bids was January 4, 2011. The land was sold on a certain judgment and Decree of Sale, rendered in Cause No. 2008TA101417.
