There is a 6 to 7 story tall brick granary building that sticks out like a sore thumb on the West Side of San Antonio, Texas. Just less than 2 miles of a direct shot away from the downtown area. This news article will explain what this brick granary building is/was and functioned as.

This brick granary was actually a mill which was once owned by Liberty Mills and had functioned as the Liberty Flour Mill at 902 Morales Street throughout the 20th century. This brick granary building was constructed in 1922.

Liberty Grain Co. took over the granary as successors to Liberty Mills in 1968. Liberty Mills had merged into the Liberty Grain Co. that year. Liberty Grain Co. had been buying and storing white corn, yellow corn milo, wheat, and oats. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/65388249/)

This brick granary was modified during the summer of 1971 by P M Products. The structure of the old flour mill was modified to take the most modern milling equipment. Grain storage and processing operations have been automated by remote control in a control room. The capacity was 600,000 bushels of storage and 335 boxcar-loads.
