Lisa Amos - Cause You Love Me is a forgotten New Orleans R&B/soul album which hardly gets mentioned or any recognition despite being released by one of the hottest labels out of New Orleans called Take Fo Records. Cause You Love Me is a bounce music soul fusion. Nothing like that New Orleans bounce. Her singing style is reminiscent in tune of Deniece Williams. Her album is quite decent.
Lisa sings a beautiful cover of Teena Marie - Young Love which will just blow your ears away. Honestly this cover version of Young Love is the best cover so far.
Lisa remembers back in school when she first laid my eyes on him. Lisa saw his smile and knew right then and there. He reached out and touched her hand and two became just one person. No one could have stopped our love affair. But lately they can't even see each other without acting just like distant lovers. They’ve even took to fighting under covers. What a shame, baby. Who's to blame? Why is young love growing old and going old? Don't say goodbye my love, no. Just one more try, young love.
She remember promises. The way she would feel when they would caress each other. She can't pinpoint or imagine where young love went wrong. He said that he needed Lisa. But where is the sincerity? She guesses that with their love has flown. Because they can't even see each other without acting just like distant lovers. Lisa asks him, “Do you remember the young love? Do you remember the love we shared? Don't you think we ought to give it one more try?” She proceeds to tell him, “Young love was much better. We've come too far to be saying goodbye.”
The title track Cause You Love Me is a bounce music soul fusion. Nothing like that New Orleans bounce. Lisa sounds like Deniece Williams on this song. DJ Duck and Henry the Man produced Cause You Love Me for Lisa. Cause You Love Me is a cover of Deniece Williams - Cause You Love Me Baby.
There's nothin' better that Lisa would like to do than sitting here cuddled up next to her man. That is because he loves Lisa. It's so nice lying here in his arms. She could stay here for the rest of her life. His personality has that charm. She can plainly see that he cares all her. Just the way she wants to be loved. Are you happy too? Tell me are you happy too.
Lisa wonders why her man cheating on her and fooling around with other women at night. Why You Tryna To Play Me is a bounce music meets Outkast type of song because the song uses that type of sound, percussion, and production.
Her man is the one who stays out late at night. Cheating on her and fooling around with other women. Clearly she is not treating her right. She knows he’s been messing around. She knows he is always going out late at night. Lisa is trying to make him see that he is her man. She wants to be with him understandably. What she is trying to figure out why he is trying to play her.
He takes all his frustrations out on Lisa. He tries to blame her for all his insecurities. She tells him to straighten up his act or she’ll be moving on. There’s something always going on. She knows he’s been messing around. She tells him he has to show her his love is true if he wants her to be with him.
Until you could have been a hit song with DJ Jubilee making the song annoying. The song would be better without the annoying DJ. The bounce beat makes the song slightly inaudible.
My Love is Bout it is a test of truth faith to see if love is legit. It’s a test of love and faith. She tests her’s love to see if his love is legitimate. Her love is like an open page in a book. Her love is off the hook. That is what she tells her man.
I rate this album 4/5****!
