Variety Of Sinz – Wicked AZ Kimistry is another wicked album that was released on cassette in 1993 from Flint, Michigan that was overlooked and highly slept on. Not that many units were sold. As a matter of fact, Wicked AZ Kimistry is another wicked Variety Of Sinz album. Variety Of Sinz is the most sinful rap group to have come out of Flint, Michigan.
The cassette itself was manufactured and printed at the nationally famous Disc Makers. Notice the famous Dolby™double D’s and Aerial font? Wicked AZ Kimistry is spelt as “Wicked AZ Kimistry” instead of “Wicked AZZ Kimistry” as a marketing tactic to have store owners sell the album and avoid it being pulled off the shelves for being too explicit. That’s why the album title is specifically named that way.
Side A is labeled as Genesis while Side B is labeled as Revelation.
However Wicked AZ Kimistry is not a full album as only 8 songs are included on the cassette. If you are solely looking for longevity, you will be highly disappointed. Duration time for this album is definitely less than an hour.
The intro uses a hodgepodge of samples from different genres of music such as soul, rap, pop, and jazz. At the very beginning is where you can hear a sample of Whodini - Hoe I Am. The words “variety of sins” are repeated throughout the intro over and over. Beats heard on this intro can be described as soft.
Overall the intro is very repetitive and haunting which can lead the track to become annoying very quickly. But the presence of samples make up for that.
Body Snatchaz is a silent killer type of track. The mood is very dark and haunting. Of course the title is a dead giveaway to that statement. Body Snatchaz is about a person who kills people and snatches their bodies.
Body Snatchaz opens up with someone saying, “Hey ain’t that the motherfuckin’ cop that pulled us over the other day, mane?” Sirens can be heard in the background. People seem to be talking. Gunshots are soon fired.
D Kent is the first to rap. Ooting cocaine is how D Kent lives. He has more money than Bebe has kids. (Notice the Bebe’s Kids reference?) When he is on the set, he does not give a fuck about people trying to make money. He assaulted someone who was from his set. He broke their neck and a leg. It’s time to bail because the cops are coming. Cops are coming quick and fast. D Kent fires gunshots at them. He killed 6 cops with one fucking gun. Now he is tripping off the shit he had done. That was a mass murder.
D Kent is on a rampage and having problems. He just wants to die. Cops have a lot of nerve harassing D Kent but he’s not having it. So he pulls out his chrome. Now one of the cops are laying in a funeral home. He then killed a cop and a snitch. Aw shit! Now he’s wanted for killing a cop.
He looked down the curb feeling paranoid. He had seen a nigga from the hood. His name is Lloyd. However this is not the end. D Ken copped some gin and was ready to commit a sin. Like the son of Satan, he on a rampage. His 12 gauge is on his mind. Body snatchaz are killing people. Killing them all.
Of course D Kent is still wrecking shit. Variety of Sinz songs are a hit with local Flintstone residents. That’s how it is when you step into D Kent’s mind. Be cautious as you never know what you’ll find. Dissembled bodies are found there. D Kent has shit in his head that would make the devil vomit.
Nikki is a Variety of Sinz love song. The smooth mood and sultry sound are what calm down the mood for this album on the Genesis side. Nikki samples Prince - Darling Nikki, Teddy Pendagrass - Love TKO, and World Class Wrecking Cru - Turn Off The Lights. A girl named Nikki is the head of sex activity. Her pussy is dripping like a wet faucet.
Murder 1 is quite similar to Murder One On A Punk Muthafucka by Tweedy Bird Loc. Murder 1 is a murder rap. 40 Fiend produced the track himself using a handful of samples.
OOT Scene was an interlude written by the great Leathaface aka Bruce Moore. He produced and wrote this interlude. Him and Variety of Sinz are ooting and sniffing cocaine. Being that this is a Variety of Sinz song, the interlude does not end without violence. A few gunshots can be heard at the very end.
You know when something’s wrong when you believe your body is numb. That is what the song Believe My Body's Numb is about. The song is not your typical 4 minute song but is rather 8 minutes long. This is one of their longest songs in VOS history.
The song Believe My Body's Numb has a similar vibe to Mack The Jacka - Feelin’ 4 A Killin’ and Tweedy Bird Loc - Murder One On A Punk Muthafucka.
Something's Really Wrong has a dark brooding feel to it hence the appropriate song title. You know when something’s wrong especially if you’re slipping into darkness. Something’s really wrong when there is wrong in your life. The song uses G-Funk synths and bells which give it an eerie vibe.
Something’s really wrong when you are going through the bad times. Going through things that are simply unbearable is bad.
You know your best friend changes when you are getting older. Something’s really wrong there. Lots of friends can be fun but that can be bad. One day you love them and the next day they make you mad. Maybe that person isn’t a friend after all. You know something’s really wrong there.
Knowing who your friend is by taking the biggest fall and seeing if they will help you back up. When you fall, see if they help you up. If they do not help you, then your friend is not to be trusted.
The lyrics are way wicked on the song Wicked AZ Kimistry. Some might consider the lyrics to be too wicked. The song is quite similar to something you would hear from either Esham or acid rap. Horrorcore rap meets the sounds of acid rap on Wicked AZ Kimistry.
Wicked AZ Kimistry is spelt as “Wicked AZ Kimistry” instead of “Wicked AZZ Kimistry” as a marketing tactic to have store owners sell the album and avoid it being pulled off the shelves for being too explicit. That is why the album title and song are specifically named that way.
I rate this album, 4/5****!
