Troy NōKA - Love.Fear.Pianos. album review

Love.Fear.Pianos. is a Kayne West production styled album recorded by producer and rapper Troy NōKA from the town of Austin, Texas. It seems as if Troy NōKA was inspired by Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco during the recording of the Love.Fear.Pianos album. Production wise, this album is inspired by the sounds of Kanye West, Travis Scott, Quavo, Tinshe, and Lupe Fiasco. A fourth (¼) of this album is filled with love songs hence the comparison to Kanye West and Tinashe.

He wrecks each track in such a lyrical manner on this album. His rapping style is so raw, gritty, and lyrical. Troy NōKA raps about old school subjects with a new school hip hop vibe. His sound is much different from the average Southern rap album. Overall his sound is very similar to Travis $cott.

The album was released online in 2013 as a digital album to music platforms across the internet. He would do the same for his 2014 GRTT album.

DM$C is a song which is dedicated and aimed at people who talk shit regardless of it being about Troy. The song is also about how Troy is getting money.

The very beginning of the song starts with Troy giving a shout out to everyone who talks shit. He lets people know he runs this. You can go on about your business.

[Verse 1]
Shout out to everybody talking shit
I run this
Yaw can just walk and trip
Aerobics
Gotta make my money stretch
Grind like I never seen a meal
But my tummy stretched

The first verse is explains how Troy is getting money and is eating good. He is eating good to the point where his stomach is full, but he is very hardworking. He works hard as if he were broke and starving. The raps he spits are timeless like crystals. Troy is on the road to riches, earning his way to the top. However he does not burn bridges in the process.

Troy is fully aware that the haters are mad. Troy is fucking awesome! But it ain't always about the riches. A nice frame compliments a picture. Troy’s raps are similar to the uplifting speeches Martin Luther King Jr. depicted. For instance these lyrics: “Here's a little story about a boy with ambition/Seen them ballers eating shrimp, an taught himself to go fishing/Now he got his own, own something is the mission”

Money can change people. Money changes real people into becoming fake.

Rapper Truespeech begins rapping inspirational quotes. Such as ”Dollars don’t buy sense.”.

Money does not make a person. A person works for the dollar. We are living in an age where people are tirelessly daily focused on the material that can be bartered with a piece of paper. They will give up anything in exchange for change in excess and success.

Truespeech is speaking souls for sale to live in a hell wrapped heaven on Earth. Building castles on infertile dirt which are destined to crumble. Dollars don’t buy sense. Kids being led to believe as soon as their eyes are open to see that money makes the world go around. You gotta have it to cop some pride or esteem.

Red Diamonds is a pop rap love song where Troy NōKA recorded a duo with British pop songstress Natasha Bedingfield. Yes, that Natasha Bedingfield! Natasha Bedingfield brings out the Britpop flavor with her singing while Troy raps.

Troy needs a real love. He wants the good kind of love and not a codependent relationship. He wants the good time like truffle butter.

Only fly Virgin like Mary with
A new crib young money like Tyga said
Money don't make you a champ ask Iverson
Broke my arm going hard in the paint yeah
Slowed me down then I started to think clear
If I'm dead I'm all I can take

Troy tells a story of true love in his raps. He watched a girl stay with a dude just for his reputation. That sowed him some girls want to be lied to. She said, “If the truth hurts, you can keep it.” Real love is in you and not the diamond on your finger.

Real love is rare like red diamonds. The comparison of love to red diamonds is how real love is rare and hard to find anywhere. Red diamonds are rare to find. Troy thinks real love is hard to find and it is rare as red diamonds. Other colored diamonds are extremely rare.

Texas Playas - Down Low album review

Texas Playas - Down Low is a funky rap album which came from the streets of Tyler, Texas in 1995. The Texas Playas album is a low quality production album filled with gangsta rap tunes to play in your ride. It’s nothing but pure smooth G-Funk. Despite the low quality production, the album is enjoyable to listen to. This rap album has that East Texas sound. Heavy bass with significantly reduced treble down by -2.2 decibels.

Bible Of A Pimp is a rap song about the Pimp Commandments. The song is a pimp’s take on the Ten Commandments from the Holy Bible. Peep game from the bible of a pimp.

Thou shall not talk back to a pimp. The pimp is a master. Anything you ask, a pimp shouldn’t have to answer. Thou shall not lie up on their dick. A pimp is supposed to stick anything with lips. Niggaz take things wrong and disrespect the game of pimping. You’re not supposed to give a fuck and play them prostitutes like Rick James. Money comes first.

Big Smoke is a song dedicated to all the weed smokers out there.

The song beings with an audience cheering in the background. A member of Texas Playas tells us “This song is dedicated to all the weed smokers.” They thank us. Playa D is back up in your ass with a sack of weed. He swears it’s the best weed around town.

Now Playa D is dipping down Flynn Street (Old Jacksonville Highway) in his Lincoln Continental. His beeper just went off. He has some ends to score. Swisher Sweets please Playa D. He is about to get blowed in a second or two. He starts smoking only to realize he needs to head back home. Back home he is sipping on a Colt 45.

C.O.U.G. is about day in the life of what goes on with the members of Texas Playas in Tyler, Texas. Located in the Big Thicket woods of East Texas. Tyler, Texas is up in this bitch! The song is laced with thick heavy bass and significantly reduced treble.

C.O.U.G. is a codename. Here is what C.O.U.G means explained in detail.: C is because I’m creepin’. O because it’s on. U as it’s on you. G goes gold.

Rolling in a droptop convertible. Making all the cops stop. These playa hatas cockblock. It ain’t nothing new as the Texas Playas pack heat. Texas Playas lets go of their lyrics like a 12 gauge. They are smooth but deadly like that. The song also discusses how people weren’t ready when Texas Playas hopped onto the rap scene in Tyler, Texas. They also let us know what goes on in the small town of Tyler, Texas. Clubs in Tyler are closed except a nightclub called The Climax.

Texas Playas - Texas Playas album review

The Texas Playas album is a low quality production album filled with gangsta rap tunes to play in your ride. It’s nothing but pure smooth G-Funk. Despite the low quality production, the album is enjoyable to listen to. This rap album has that East Texas sound. Heavy bass with significantly reduced treble down by -2.2 decibels.

Texas Playas - Texas Playas is album that was recorded in 1995 but was only released in a limited amount. Not that many were pressed. Only 200 copies were made. The album was pressed onto CD and cassette. The 1995 edition was manufactured by Disc Makers. Drop Top Music from Germany reissued the album on CD in 2013. The 2013 German edition was limited to 50 copies. The album was released on Jovial Songs and later Drop Top Music.

Bruce Lattin (8 Ball) produced the entire album. He was exclusively the sole producer throughout this album meaning that there were no other producers on this album.

Some Day We All Gotta Go reminds us that death is inevitable. Death happens to everyone. It is a known fact when people die that it is a part of life. The song also serves as a dedication for all the dead homies. Members of Texas Playas share the memories of their homies who passed away.

Texas Playas gives us a little something to get the party jumping all night long on the song Lil Sumthing. It’s nothing but smooth G-Funk here. Who knew a rap group from Tyler, Texas could be this funky?

Bullet Proof Vest is a gangsta rap track where the treble reduced by -2.2 decibels. The hiss in the background give the sound a low quality vibe. That’s no surprise seeing as how the album was released on cassette in 1995. However their vocals overlap the music meaning that the vocals are louder than the music itself.

Droppin Bombs is a dope but low quality freestyle rap performed by members of Texas Playas. The hiss in the background gives off that low quality sound. However the medium bass and thick layered beats are what make this rap song dope in spite of the low quality.
