Me Phi Me - Me Phi Me demo album review

The Me Phi Me demo was a cassette with hand drawn artwork in ink format by Mr. Me Phi Me himself. This demo had 5 songs and was released in 1992.

The Me Phi Me demo had songs that were on the One album. The Me Phi Me demo is a socially conscious worldly alternative hip hop/rap album with minimal to no profanity. Everyone can listen to this album including the whole family. The album deals with real topics such as combating homelessness, politics, hopefulness, positivity, and self integrity. The album has some truth and knowledge that was sadly overlooked in the era of pop and gangsta rap. Me Phi Me was the PM Dawn of Flint, Michigan and Flint rap. To sum it all up, the Me Phi Me demo is a world music album itself.

Sad New Day shows spiritual awareness. The song is a surrealistic perspective and insight of society's outcasts who become inspired by the positive rhymes of hip-hop innovator. Me Phil Me on the same level as PM Dawn with spiritual awareness in their music.

Verse 1 shows spiritual awareness of being mentally locked down. Trying to break free from being mentally locked down is not easy. You to be in total control of your actions. Read the lyrics.

[Verse 1]
Pain, it's as dark as the night
Keeps you up-tight
Forever you fight
You try to break the bondage you experience
Deranged, delirious, mentally serious
Tell ME how do I break the chains on my brain
My mind, my body, my soul
I need total control
Of my freedom and my liberty
When will it be for all?
All Berlin walls must fall
The physical torture and mental oppression
The anguish of depression
Life is a lesson
That you've got to study hard because the hard times
Are grippin' and whippin'
Quit slippin'
Don't be a slave just create a positive state
Don't break just make and take
Be great
Don't be controlled just be strong never doubt your tomorrow
And we'll hear you scream out...

When it rains it pours for pain is a force. Let happiness be your source and keep goin' for yours. Let happiness be and your life and over come the sadness. Choose the right path in life.

Verse 3 highlights how life is special.

[Verse 3: Me Phi Me]
Solar energy within ME all through ME
It's the sun full of light bringing power and might
All right makin' everything start to swing
You be the king or queen of your own dream
Life can be supreme, it's a special thing
Just keep the faith through the night time
You operate smooth and you might find
All of the loving, the bliss, the joy -- a happy deal
Friendship and jubilee, you live The Elysian fields
For real -- you need to feel unchained and free
Into the ME PHI ME
And you are in the rat race, so put on your gym shoes
Run emphatically, step on them blues
Choose the right path and be on your way
And you'll be able to say
What a wonderful life!

Black Sunshine deals with homelessness. Me Phi Me was so far ahead of his time with his song. Me Phi Me performs on Black Sunshine using an acoustic guitar. Homelessness and vagrancy are issues which still plagues societies today. The song still has relevance with today’s audience.

The first verse of this Me Phi Me song explains homelessness and vagrancy in a nutshell.

This old box is all I own
I call it home
I live life like an animal
It's not understandable
I'm just like you
But you don't live alone
Call me the lonely man
I'm trying to make a stand
On the dignity that God has given me
But it's so hard for me to follow that plan
When my favorite restaurant is a garbage can
Every morning I see Black Sunshine
It's in my mind
As the world pretends they don't see
I can't fit in no one wants me
From the dark light
The world is unkind
Black Sunshine, Black Sunshine
No matter where I look
There's no shade from
Black sunshine beaming it's dark light
On every move I make

Me Phi Me calls out the government along with society for not helping out the homeless the way in which they should. Me Phi Me criticizes society for turning the other cheek against homelessness. People wouldn’t know how it feels to be homeless unless they were once that position themselves.

Who can help the homeless don't you know
You're never gonna hide behind the sunglasses
If your brother's hands are tied
You got to wipe some asses
So men will survive the night
Let the Black Sunshine turn bright

Pu' Sho Hands 2 Getha served as the closer for this demo. The song was an appropriate choice to be the closing track for this demo because of the title. Pu' Sho Hands 2 Getha was recorded and mixed at Concept Sound Studios in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Thomas Colon ‎– The Blueboy EP EP review

Thomas Colon ‎– The Blueboy EP is an eclectic mixture of garage house and electronic music. This EP leans more towards the electronic side. Thomas Colon never fails to disappoint when comes to composing or producing house music and electronic music. The thickness and density of the beats are perfect on these songs from Thomas Colon.

You can feel the groove that is inside of the electronic saxophone when you listen to Keep On Pushin' (Original Mix). The song uses an Afrocentric percussion selection. The original mix of Keep On Pushin' is perfect for the dance floor or lounge. A fine example of garage house.

You can feel the groove that is inside of the electronic saxophone when you listen to Come On Y'All (Saxx Mix). The beats and synths follow the groove of the electronic saxophone. Notice how the beats are thick and plush. Thickness and density of the beats are perfect.

Latif - Philadelphia Healing EP review

Latif’s Philadelphia Healing is a Latif is a breath of fresh air much needed talent in today's R&B scene. The songs are genuine and have real emotion to them as you listen to the whole album. His smooth songs are worth the listen and streaming. By releasing this EP, he made a pledge to bring back that quality Philadelphia soul sound and respect for the city he loves. The EP was released to SoundCloud in 2012 as a digital EP for streaming.

The Healing (Intro) is where Latif brings back that quality Philadelphia soul sound in a smooth manner through singing. He plans to stop the violent Philadelphia mentality through his singing. This is evidenced when he sings:

Wake up wake up wake up wake up, my people
Listen
It's time to say 'so long' to the Philly mentality
And time to say 'hello' to the protest music
The life music
The spiritual music
You dig?

He wants people to wake up and listen. It's time to say 'so long' to the violent Philly mentality and time to say 'hello' to the protest music. Where there's promise, there's hope. Where there's faith, there's love. And where there's love, there's forgiveness.

Latif represents Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And our cultural significance can no longer be ignored or denied. You know, let's stay clean to our originality, people. Let's bring back the feeling. Latif bring to you that healing The Philadelphia healing.

Days Of Our Lives is This song describes a regular week in Latif’s life. This is where Latif focuses on every day out of the week. This song also is about the ups and downs, the joys, along with the simple things in life.

Latif starts off by focusing with Monday. The first day of the week. He wakes up in a rush, gets his kiss from his girlfriend, and then leaves. His girlfriend calls him in an hour asking him how he made off. He responds by saying, “I’ll be working late, baby. Don't have to wait up”

He’s at it again on Tuesday. Grindin' it for his girlfriend as hard as he can. So she can have the funny things that finally costing her. Wednesday is hump day as it is halfway through the week.

On Thursday night is when he makes love to his girlfriend. Sweet as a grudge. The ups and downs, the joys, the simple things. I trust your every moment thoroughly. These are the days of our lives. If you would take a care and enter my life, you would wanna deal it. You'd get a real prospect of this love, me and my baby. They get into it by fussing and fighting but nothing too crazy. The creed is absolved after things calm down.

Friday night was supposed to be their movie night as they have that scheduled for every week. But it slipped his mind. He did not call his girlfriend after work. Latif was hangin' out with the boys. By the time he got home after a long night drinking, she was angry and mad.

The day of Saturday is when he cooked breakfast. He apologized for Friday because he knew he neglected her. Sunday was their holy day at church. The choir sang the perfect melody. A preacher came to preach the words of love.

It's tough. Well after everything, there's love. We got us. All we ever need is love. Relationships can work if you want them to. Just try to make it work. It's not about all the material things. Unconditional love is gonna make it all worth it.

Money is a song about how this girl is after Latif’s money.

Some girl at the mall who is in love with Latif robbed him of his money. She seemed genuine at first. Au contraire, mon frère. She had her way with words. She talked him into giving her some money. That is how Latif was robbed out of his money. She had her eyes on nice things and would've done anything for money. She really didn't want love.

He messed up and gave his heart to her. She was too greedy. Someone tried to tell him not to trust that chick, but he went all in and bought a cost for the hell of it. He couldn't pay her rent. She deposited pain and left a deficit. He paid the rent and loved somebody who only wants.

She had finally met her match. She worked for an aggressive pimp. He's wondering, “Where my paper at?” “You got robbed? Really I don't care. Shoot. You'd better bring it all back if you can blister up” She's a hoe now.

He knows it's wrong but doesn’t care. As cold as this world is, Latif can only look out for himself. Money is the root of all evil.

Dino - The Way I Am album review

Dino’s The Way I Am album was his least successful album to date. Sadly this album did not chart. New Jack Swing and synth-pop was a thing of the past. Synth-pop was played out already. That is one of many reasons why Swingin' did not chart very high. Now all that aside, his smooth singing will pull you into listening to this album. Everything from dance-pop hits to love ballads are what’s in this album. Dino is one of the most under-appreciated of the late 80's and early and 90’s.

Tonight's the Night is a smooth mid tempo pop song perfect to calm down your night with. Tonight's the Night sounds like an early Dallas Austin production.

Dino has been waiting for this night for such a long time. He can't think of anything else because tonight's the night. There's nobody else around. He’s waited for this moment for a long, long time. Because tonight they will share this love they found.

This is their first time. Don't be afraid. Dino will lead the way as he sets the mood. Is this a dream or could it be reality? Together they’ll find paradise. Tonight's the night for love.

She Ain't Shy is about this girl who has a brave cavalier attitude but is friendly. She knows it so she shows it.

There was no slack when they had met. They looked back at each other. Then she flashed Dino a big sexy smile. She came over to him and told him that she'd like to stay for a while. This is a clue that she want to hang out all night. She wants to get to know him so much better. She makes him happy because she's just his type as she was very friendly.

She knows just what to do. She knows just how to keep Big Daddy Dino satisfied. That's no lie. Dino felt a sexual impact when they both first made contact. She asked Dino, ''Can you read my mind?''Then she told him to kiss her. He just couldn't resist her. A girl like this was hard to find. She wants to share an intimate encounter with Big Daddy Dino. Tonight is the night she wants to end all the hype. He’s so glad that he found her.

Let Yourself Go is a perfect dance-pop song ideal for the dance floor. Everybody on the floor! It's time to get jumpin' with Big Daddy Dino. Scream and holler for some more! Feel the rhythm. Let it flow. Loosen your body because the music is pumpin’! Let me see you shake that ass. Hey Mr. DJ, I really like what you're playin’. Can I have a little more, you know what I'm sayin’? Give me more of that rhythm. More of that beat. Party people, rock the house live! Come on. Get up out your seat. The music's taking control.

Bambounou ‎– Ignition / Take It Out On Me single review

Bambounou ‎– Ignition / Take It Out On Me was released as a digital download in 2014 in 320 kbps MP3 format to the internet. This single was released on the 50Weapons label from Germany. Techno meets electronic music on this Bambounou single. The sounds of French electronic music are truly amazing!

The way too loud overcompressed production is what makes the song Ignition nice. The overcompressed production stands out with all the layers of instrumentation used. Synths are all over the place on this song. Take It Out On Me is crazy techno joint which uses several layers of instrumentation. The space noises you are actually synths driven by use of a kick drum. Bass overlaps the several layers of instrumentation as this a Bambounou song.

State of Cykosis ‎– Cykosis And The Cykodelichell Band single review

You don’t often here very much from the Toledo rap scene. Well that’s what State of Cykosis ‎– Cykosis And The Cykodelichell Band single is. Pure raw unfiltered Toledo rap. The sounds have a touch of horrorcore to them. Now the audio quality is very low quality. You can notice this production in their vocals. Now that doesn’t stop this single from being a wicked psychedelic tape. The single has some psychedelic rap and a lot of horrorcore rap.

State of Cykosis ‎– Cykosis And The Cykodelichell was released on cassette single format in the year 1995. It was released independently by Duce Duce Records. The songs on this single are Bloodstains and State Of Cykosis.

State of Cykosis was a horrorcore rap duo from Toledo, Ohio that was active from 1994-2000. The group went under the name Cykosis before changing their name to State of Cykosis in 1997. The group used the name Cykosis when they recorded this single. Black Bart and The False Prophet were the group members.

Now this was the cassette single that got them involved with in a lawsuit with Insane Clown Posse (ICP) for releasing a tape with them on there that ICP did not want put out.

Here is the history of Bloodstains.

Cykosis asked ICP to do a song with them back in 1994 which was called Bloodstains. The song was recorded that same year. But when Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope heard the song, they were not satisfied with audio quality. Sadly the audio quality turned out horrible. What happened was ICP said Cykosis could have the song.

However ICP asked Cykosis not to release the song on their cassette single. ICP did not want that song put out. What does State Of Cykosis do? They release the song on their cassette single anyway The cassette single was released the following year in 1995. Bloodstains started getting popular. ICP got pissed because of this.

What ended up happening is that State of Cykosis got involved with in a lawsuit with ICP. ICP sued them for releasing Bloodstains on their cassette single without their permission.

Here is what happened during the lawsuit in court. ICP basically lied to the judge presiding the courtroom and told the judge it wasn't them in the song. Alex Abbiss fought against State Of Cykosis to not release the cassette single. State Of Cykosis did countersue ICP. They countersued and had lost the lawsuit.

Violent J is the rapper doing the spoken word intro.
(Intro: Violent J)
Cykosis...Are we in the haugh... Cykosis, Cykosis, Cykosis and the wicked clowns
Cykosis, Cykosis, Cykosis and the wicky wicked clowns

The False Prophet greets you and he tells you he is glad to kill you. He asks for you to hold your forehead still so he can drill right through your head.

(Verse 1: The False Prophet)
Hello, I'm Prophet F, I'm very glad to kill you
Now hold your forehead real still so I can drill right through you
When my black entangled bitch drink, I know you're rich

A slaughter fest ensues. All you hear is gurgles when The False Prophet does some cutting. He plugs your ass for every penny before he hits the switch. He throws your arm in a basket like any other. And if you're still alive, all he has to do is smother you until your face turns blue. The False Prophet is a sadist who gets pleasure in torturing people. He gets pleasure in torturing you. The barrel of a gun is shoved down your throat until your spleen is full of lead.

Now this is the part of the song where things get graphic, violent, and gruesome.

But it's the best way I freeze yo' ass for thanksgiving
I cook some good shit like ears, eyes and even tongue
Rip your chest open, I think I have some hearts and lungs
You know-you know-you know humans do the best
Just have a part of Jeffery Dahmer, and he'll tell you the rest
Blood, blood, more blood, I gotta get me some
But how do I get some? Motherfucking redrum!

Black Bart feels like he’s on heroin. Every time he sees a group of nuns, he want to bury them. He has no scruples in his head. So he has nothing left to lose. His tennis shoes are muddy and his white shirt is bloody.

These lyrics represent the mindset Black Bart is in.:
Think my mortal thoughts, I take yours and end my own life
And I'll see you in a different world
'Cuz I believe-I believe I'm gonna be cured
Oh lord, oh lord, oh lord
Why is this life so motherfuckin' hard?
Everybody dying, bullets steady flying
Might as well burn the bible and keep lying
Trials and tribulations, the shade of my attitude
It's tougher than the thought of a dead body in a swimming pool
I'm on my way to the state hospital

Black Bart is in a psychotic state or in this case a state of psychosis. He is on his way to the state hospital. At the state hospital, Black Bart is shot up with cozine and thrown on the floor by orderlies. He gets strapped up to the wall. He wants to rip these motherfuckers apart, ya'll, and write my name in blood all over the walls. Black Bart asks to be put out his misery.

ICP and Cykosis in this bitch slaughtering motherfuckers tag-team style! Leaving the motherfucking bloodstains all over the world, bitch! Know what I'm saying, bitch? Cykosis and Toledo are raw as shit. Know what I'm saying?

Violent J is the ghetto cap peeler. Southwest strangler serial killer. Slaughterer maniac, school nerd brainiac. Bloody bloodstains on the walls of his home. His home is a dumpster behind Micky D’s (McDonald’s).

Wait a minute. Violent J thinks somebody's coming or going. He can hear their blood flowing. Chop up their veins. That's when the blood rains. Bloodstains on the sidewalk. Dead bodies ain't nothing new as Violent J is from Detroit. He finds them in the yard when mowing the lawn.

Shaggy 2 Dope wakes up out of his coma. He can’t  recollect any memories.

(come again) Wakin' up, coming out my coma
Shit man, somebody must be a goner
I can't
I'm laying butt naked behind the dumpster in the ally
Lookin' down-down at my hands, man
I ain't seeing shit but these fucking blood stains
What are they from? Maybe from chokin' a bitch's neck
I gotta remember, I gotta write a fucking track!
That's the Shaggs, bitch, the Shaggy waggy-waggy's G
And I'm a fucking serial murder little bloodstains, bitch

Damn. I miss music like this old shit. MCL! This is the shit.

State Of Cykosis is about being in a state of psychological psychosis after taking a miracle drug. This can apply to any miracle drug in existence. Now the vocal quality is low due to the low budget production techniques used when producing State Of Cykosis.

The song tells us exactly what being in a “State Of Cykosis”.  Miracle drug capable of curing a variety of ailments to make normal life more pleasant. Excessive use can lead to psychological psychosis.
