DJ Sneak - DJ Sneak EP EP review

DJ Sneak’s DJ Sneak EP is a deep house EP which uses tribal sounds and techno. Techno meets the sounds of tribal house and disco on this DJ Sneak EP.

Throw Your Hands is good to start your house set with. The song uses a percussion sample over a thick, hard kick drum. Thick beats are what stand out on Throw Your Hands. The lady that keeps repeating, "Throw your hands up in the air!" is actually a sample and not an original vocal recording. The sample is actually a disco sample. Most the song is repetitive sample based music.

Compute is a techno oriented song being that this is the techno portion of the EP. The song uses a wide array of blips and synths. Some synths used bit crushed distortion.

Dancin uses a percussion sample over a thick and hard kick drum. A disco sample is used. The song also uses an 8-track mixdown.

Mind Destruction uses a bit of distorted techno sounds. Notice the blips and synths. Mind Destruction samples Aphrohead - In the Dark We Live. Surely enough, Mind Destruction will have you left in a trance. The song is that wonderful.

The Music Is In Me uses dry hats all over the place. Most the song is repetitive sample based music. The song uses a 48-track mixdown.

Bambounou ‎– Cobe EP EP review

Bambounou ‎– Cobe EP was released as a digital download and 12” vinyl on the 50Weapons label from Germany in 2012. Techno meets the sounds of electronic music on this Bambounou EP. Bambounou never fails to disappoint his audience or the public in general with his production technique. Heavy bass is placed all over the EP.

Deepstaria uses an intoxicating mix of electro synths and heavy bass over a kick drum. Processed techno beats are used. Tension builds up at certain points in the song hence all those random buildups. Heavy bass overlaps most of the instrumentation on this Bambounou song.

Chrome uses processed techno beats from a drum machine. It’s another Bambounou song driven by electro synths, heavy bass, and processed techno beats. Chrome uses some raw melodic production and DJ work. A touch of industrial music is used. More words cannot describe the feeling this track.

Mass does use some raw melodic DJ work. However the vocal sample makes the song annoying and unworthy of listening to.

Thomas Colon - Give A Mood E.P. EP review

Thomas Colon - Give A Mood E.P. is a proper electronic house EP with a deep house sound. However some of the songs uses generic vocal samples which get annoying very quickly due to their repetitive nature. This EP isn’t exactly his best work. Most of the songs are average at best.

All Right Feel uses a mixture of live production and electronic production. The bass is bumpin’ and the synths are groovy. The song uses a proper deep house sound with electronic production. All Right Feel All Right Feel is more than all right. It’s excellent! This is one of the best songs off this EP.

So So Sweet uses repetitive sample based music. The song gets annoying very quickly due to the repetitive nature. He seemed to be inspired by the sounds of R&B/soul and pop when he arranged and produced this song. Electronic music meets the sounds of R&B/soul and pop music on So So Sweet. Nevertheless, So So Sweet is a proper electronic house song. The song uses a proper deep house sound with electronic production.

Yeh Yeh is an okay song. The song is average at best.

DJ Sneak ‎– The Sugar Daddy E.P. EP review

DJ Sneak ‎– The Sugar Daddy E.P. is a very unique EP which uses a combination of electronic, jazz, pop, and disco. For one thing, most of this EP was inspired by the works and musical talent of jazz legend & producer Quincy Jones. You can hear Quincy Jones influence, sound, and work almost all over this EP despite him not contributing or producing anything on this EP. Songs such as Quincy's Groove and Disturbing Rhythms have Quincy Jones influence and sound all over the place.

Quincy's Groove was inspired by the works and musical talent of jazz legend & producer Quincy Jones. You can hear Quincy Jones influence, sound, and work almost all over this despite him not contributing or producing anything on this song.

DJ Sneak - Quincy's Groove samples Quincy Jones - Beatcha' Wouldn't Hurt Me and also samples portions of Quincy Jones - Back On The Block. The Quincy Jones samples are perfect.

Disturbing Rhythms uses a combination of electronic, jazz, and pop music over a selection of different rhythms. Rhythms used on this song are disturbing hence the title Disturbing Rhythms. Disturbing Rhythms samples portions of Quincy Jones - Back On The Block.

Now instead of the song being the generic 120 BPM or 90 BPM, the song uses a tempo of 125 BPM. Most electronic songs use a tempo of 125 BPM or 130 BPM. The fast paced tempo of 125 BPM or 130 BPM is what gets people to listen to electronic music or pop music.

State of Cykosis - Hallow's Eve In The Glass City EP review

Hallow's Eve In The Glass City is an amazing release by State of Cykosis! Toledo rap can’t get anymore hardcore as this! If you are looking for dope beats and lyrics, then this album is what you want to listen to. Now this State of Cykosis recording is more high quality in terms of sound quality.

Hallow’s Eve In The Glass City tells us what kind of unseen madness goes on in the city of Toledo, Ohio. See for yourself if you don't believe. Things you hear will never be the same because of what you've seen. All hell breaks loose on Hallow's Eve.

The song takes place on Devil's Night before Halloween. Glass in the nightmare's hallow's eve. Things will never be the same because of what you've seen.

There’s a body on the carpet and blood on the walls. The False Prophet grabbed his cane and smashed a police officer. So he burned down your house with your wife and your baby. Her old lady yelled out "PRICK!”. Bart pulled down his pants until that old hag sucked his dick. Up yo ass with this motherfuckin' stick! The Dead Beats know what time it is, fool. Drinkin' and skippin' school. Is glass city madness? You better believe it. All hell breaks loose on Hallow's Eve. You don't know what you'll find.

Enter the city on Hallow's Eve. Once you’re here, you won't wanna leave. The one known as Black Bart can’t find pieces of a woman’s body he tore her apart. Come into his town and you'll soon see. Evil rules everything all over this city.

These lyrics highlight sadism. There are a lot of sadistic people here who are sadists. Sadists are people who get off on pleasure of others pain. “All the people's here are tripping to be mad/Sadists in the spear, that's all we've ever had/Evil rules everything all over this city/That's what brings to the night ahead”

Bang goes your brains all over the place. No one cares about your color. No one cares about your race. One night only will switch a fucking dome. You see they might be bad and dangerous, But in Toledo, you have to be tough. Because once a year on Halloween, madness goes unseen in Toledo.

Death & Beyond is a gory tale of blood and guts. Death & Beyond uses heavy phat bass that will rumble your speakers. The song is similar to the ICP - Ring Master album.

It was at night in the hood. A night of blood and guts where it all looks good. Now motherfuckers are going to even a score. Kill a bitch today and it's in the paper next week. She wanted to survive as she screams that she climbed. Cykosis has come to collect your soul.

Help Me is a story told by frequent collaborator Greg Files. Greg Files goes by the name of G. Slick.

G. Slick has a little story. Listen up close as he is not in for the glory.

Dr. Ren Boeing is laying in bed about four in the morning. Lighting and wagging. Roaring and screaming, Demon's crawling on his back. He is unable to move as he is physically restrained. Back against the wall. He yelled out "Jesus Christ, I had nothing left!" The demon said, "Damn, it's all I would've to get" So get down on your knees and start hoping and praying.

Black Bart hears a voice calling out his name in Verse 2. Is it him? Is it real? Or is it just a game? Now Bart is looking for a knife as he wants to take his own life. He can't hear myself think. The next door neighbor is beating on his wife. Bart has his hand on the bible. Will it stop the pain?

Cykosis ‎– Severed From Reality EP review

Cykosis ‎– Severed From Reality is another amazing release by State of Cykosis. Toledo rap can’t get anymore hardcore as this. If you are looking for lengthy long songs with dope beats and lyrics, then Severed From Reality is what you want to listen to.

The tracks are lengthy, but it's worth listening to. It's very rare, so you may need to download it, but if you like horrorcore, this EP is for you. The beats are dope, the lyrics are awesome, and it is all around epic. (The cassette version of this album has the A side listed as Rasputin and the B side listed as Nosferatu, by the way.)

Come Inside (Come My Children) serves as the graphic opening for the EP with gruesome details. References to necrophilia are made. The song is some hardcore horrorcore hip hop/rap.

Black Bart and The False Prophet will be forever a product with the dark side where they are forever forced to live because of the actions towards somebody’s mothers. Cykosis took them apart of themselves to use evils of the prophet to wreck down anxiety barriers. The first one is Cykosis will be heard by all and the last ones will let go through the death of motherfuckers!!

Have you ever seen the devil? Like a holy necrophilic? He fucks the dead and the dreams of bath. He's got the army of death. The devil took a damn body to a corpse. The devil has got these mad chickens laying all around. Worms in the bed and maggots in the cereal. The devil tells us “Come, my children. Come and get some.” Step into the circle. You don't know what you'll find.

The Prophet F (The False Prophet) is the prophet of death. He will eat your ass until there’s nothing left. First he starts chewing your ear off real slow. It's kinda hard to dissect. Slaughter motherfucker slaughter. Merciless chapter on your little cured daughter. Ferocious with Cykosis. The False Prophet is creeping through the neighborhood. Pumping on the wildflower. Sinpping on that juice and gin. Time and time with a grin. Black Bart is chasing people in the streets. Girls disappear as soon as you blink.

Organ Grinder is a bloody graphic tale about Mr. Organ The Anchor.

Come, come, everybody. Gather round, yes, get off the floor. My name is Mr. Oregon The Anchor. How was everybody today? Come, yes, listen to me play. Listen to my sweet melodies. Come, listen to me play, Listen to me, RIP JACK!

Grind, grind motherfucker, grind! How many dead bodies do you think he can find? Snooping like a bloodhound. He took everything they own like Jim Jones. Follow the False Prophet and turn the phones. He’s peeking in the window at your mother taking a shower. She is his next victim. He can hear her innards in his organ grinder churn.

Playing with fire, that’s his desire. A psychopathic’s dream is not reality. You’re all alone in the house. Oh, what a pity. Listen to the Organ Grinder. He might find you in the middle of the night. Chasing your ass until dawn. He's a goddamn sicko maniac.

Death becomes your worst nightmare. But you know who's coming near. The Organ Grinder's almost here. Look who's coming down your lane. You can't hide from him.

The song What’s The Sense in Living (When You’re Dead) questions why bother living why you are dead. What's the sense in living when you’re dead? What's the sense in living?

These lyrics are filled with death. “Will the bullshit drown and giving another middle place/I wish my life was on book and out of a turned page” Shot in the head. So what's the sense in living when you're dead?

Now the version of Bloodstains that is on this EP is not the same version from State of Cykosis ‎– Cykosis And The Cykodelichell Band. This version does not feature ICP. This is the 1997 version. Bart says “penis" at the end of the song for no apparent reason.

The False Prophet greets you and he tells you he is glad to kill you. He asks for you to hold your forehead still so he can drill right through your head.

(Verse 1: The False Prophet)
Hello, I'm Prophet F, I'm very glad to kill you
Now hold your forehead real still so I can drill right through you
When my black entangled bitch drink, I know you're rich

A slaughter fest ensues. All you hear is gurgles when The False Prophet does some cutting. He plugs your ass for every penny before he hits the switch. He throws your arm in a basket like any other. And if you're still alive, all he has to do is smother you until your face turns blue. The False Prophet is a sadist who gets pleasure in torturing people. He gets pleasure in torturing you. The barrel of a gun is shoved down your throat until your spleen is full of lead.

Now this is the part of the song where things get graphic, violent, and gruesome.

But it's the best way I freeze yo' ass for thanksgiving
I cook some good shit like ears, eyes and even tongue
Rip your chest open, I think I have some hearts and lungs
You know-you know-you know humans do the best
Just have a part of Jeffery Dahmer, and he'll tell you the rest
Blood, blood, more blood, I gotta get me some
But how do I get some? Motherfucking redrum!

Black Bart feels like he’s on heroin. Every time he sees a group of nuns, he want to bury them. He has no scruples in his head. So he has nothing left to lose. His tennis shoes are muddy and his white shirt is bloody.

These lyrics represent the mindset Black Bart is in.:
Think my mortal thoughts, I take yours and end my own life
And I'll see you in a different world
'Cuz I believe-I believe I'm gonna be cured
Oh lord, oh lord, oh lord
Why is this life so motherfuckin' hard?
Everybody dying, bullets steady flying
Might as well burn the bible and keep lying
Trials and tribulations, the shade of my attitude
It's tougher than the thought of a dead body in a swimming pool
I'm on my way to the state hospital

Black Bart is in a psychotic state or in this case a state of psychosis. He is on his way to the state hospital. At the state hospital, Black Bart is shot up with cozine and thrown on the floor by orderlies. He gets strapped up to the wall. He wants to rip these motherfuckers apart, ya'll, and write my name in blood all over the walls. Black Bart asks to be put out his misery.

Big June - Big June Nigga single review

Big June - Big June Nigga was a single that was put out on cassette in 1992 by Repo Records. Repo Ric was Big June's manager at the time and Repo Ric also ran his record label called Repo Records and a hypeman for his Repo Boxing. Production was done by Repo Ric, Dr. Devious (Dr. Dev), and Steve Vicious.

Big June Nigga is a self-explanatory track about who Big June is. Big June Nigga samples More Bounce To The Ounce by Zapp. Both Steve Vicious and Repo Ric produced this track. That’s why you can hear VMF’s sound all over Big June Nigga with that heavy G-Funk sound.

Big June is a young nigga from Southeast San Diego, California. Big June is on a mission. While he is on this mission, his eyes are faded from a fat blunt of that endo. He’s got half in his sack. But he’s going to save some for his homie Lil Lunch Beef. But that’s the home and wants to be high like Big June. They meet at the I at 8 o’clock. They get a 40 ounce of that Olde English. Big June keeps a strap when he rolls the streets. He’s ready to blast when he sees a fool trying to creep.

Now Big June describes himself as a hardheaded motherfucker. He’s feels crazy with the intentions of always killing. Big June keeps his Dickies™sagging low. Messing with Big June and believe me, you will come up short. Fuck with Big June and you will come up short. He has a brew. So now his situated. He poured some brew onto the curb for the deceased homies.

Moving forward, Big June caught this fool slippin’ and he busted at his ass when he should have waited. The batterram is rolling deep. Big June cuts the lights on his car parks in a vacant lot. He tossed the dope and bud under a tree along with the gat. And now he peels out quick with the 40 in his lap. Big June sees a bitch with a fat pussy. So he went up in it. He went to her pad but quickly left. Right as Big June walked out the door, she started pulling on his sleeve. That’s what you get for fucking around with Big June Nigga.

Notice how Big June gave props, a shoutout, and a reference to San Diego rapper CC. CC and Big June were close homies who earned each others respect.
It was in this verse:
you know my homie CC is drinking MD
another motherfucker down with 61 n-i-n-e

Straight Jackin' is the next track. On this song called Straight Jackin’, Big June talks about committing robberies and doing home invasions. Big June talks about robbing and jacking people for they shit. Big June went on a mission.

Big June is a young nigga from Southeast San Diego, California. He is dressed in brown, black, and red getting ready to invade someone’s home to commit a robbery. SESD is imprinted on his back. His eyes are always looking faded. He had the single Big June Nigga in his ride and so he played it. He has his day plan headed for Southeast San Diego. San Diego PD took his picture because of the fact he was associating himself with gangs. San Diego PD shouldn’t have to ask Big June what set he’s from. So they let him go but confiscated his bud.

Big June heard some funky sounds while strolling in front of Lincoln Park. (That is the Lincoln Big June is referring to.) It was Luke in a Caddilac. So now Big June proceeds to flag him down. It’s 11:15 AM. Big June tells Luke to hurry up as Morse High School is letting out for lunch. Big June and Luke arrive at the school at 11:28 AM. Shannon Bo watched over the car for Big June. (Shannon Bo just happened to be there at the time.)

Black Sid started coming because he heard Big June flowing. He was dressed in all black with his rag. Big June had some bud but police confiscated that from him. Ain’t that a bitch? Big June is stressin’ too. Black Sid tossed Big June the gat and said “There’s only one thing left to do.” Big June said “What?” Black Sid looked at Big June and started laughing. He said “Kick back, June. Because we’re straight jackin’.” Now we are waiting for Shannon Bo and Black Sid so Big June & them so they can commit robberies and home invasions. So get ready for the jackin’!

Big June takes off his brown Dickies™and now he is in all black. Now we are waiting for Shannon and Black Sid so they can commit robberies and home invasions. Shannon Bo and Black Sid pull up in a Model T Ford. Big June states he can’t go jacking sober. So the pull out the 8 bottle. They started getting drunk.

Now Big June wants to go to Trose so he can get some dip. They this old fool strolling, high rolling with a lot of money. Big June hopped out the Caddilac and put a shank to his dome. He wasn’t scared of the knife so Big June pulled out the gat. He thought it was fake so he pulled it back. Shannon said “Give it up or your ass I’ll get. And if I have to, Im’ma shoot off your little dick.” He pulled out some $10’s and $20s. Big June walked away like nothing happened. He put his gat in the glove compartment inside his Cadillac. Big June has prepared himself for another mission.

At this present moment, Big June is high as fuck. But his brain is flowing smooth. He is still stable enough to pull a jack move. Nina Ross is the boss when Big June’s on the jack tip. He is scoping out a home to invade. Just his luck. Nobody’s even home. Big June tosses possessions from that home into U-Haul truck in the back. Big June has prepared himself for another mission yet again.

Nothin' But A Come Up is about puttin' in work and doin' dirt. Basically it's committing robberies and killings. Big June is on a mission. Nothin' But A Come Up details the criminal lifestyle of Big June.

Me Phi Me - One (promo version) album review

The Me Phi Me album One (promo version) is a socially conscious worldly alternative hip hop/rap album with minimal to no profanity. Everyone can listen to this album including the whole family. The album deals with real topics such as combating homelessness, politics, hopefulness, positivity, and self integrity. The album has some truth and knowledge that was sadly overlooked in the era of pop and gangsta rap. Me Phi Me was the PM Dawn of Flint, Michigan and Flint rap. To sum it all up, the Me Phi Me album One is a world music album itself.

Keep It Goin’ is a song about individuality. Individuality motivates us to keep on going. Individuality is key to a great personality. My brothas and sistas, this is a beautiful song. This song was the theme for the short lived Fox TV show Tribeca.

The first verse explains the philosophy of individuality and self-love.

[Verse 1]
Shine, like the sun at noontime
Light the path that leads to a new mind
Look into my mind and what do you see
Individuality
The ME PHI ME
Can you handle my philosophy:
Love yourself and you will never go wrong
Because self-esteem is like a real live party
It keeps me going all night long

You heard the rhythm and saw the mechanism. What a funky system. Fighting the battle for joy and euphoria is something we (can) all strive for. Show them what happens when you're proud and strong. You keep going all night long. Something about every person is great. We need more members to add to the sunshine. So come sign up if you got what it takes.

A smile for yourself it helps to bring your mind to realize you dreams. Attitude helps keep you flow and go. Never take a break from loving yourself.

Black Sunshine deals with homelessness. Me Phi Me was so far ahead of his time with his song. Me Phi Me performs Black Sunshine using an acoustic guitar. Homelessness and vagrancy are issues which still plagues societies today. The song still has relevance with today’s audience.

The first verse of this Me Phi Me song explains homelessness and vagrancy in a nutshell.

This old box is all I own
I call it home
I live life like an animal
It's not understandable
I'm just like you
But you don't live alone
Call me the lonely man
I'm trying to make a stand
On the dignity that God has given me
But it's so hard for me to follow that plan
When my favorite restaurant is a garbage can
Every morning I see Black Sunshine
It's in my mind
As the world pretends they don't see
I can't fit in no one wants me
From the dark light
The world is unkind
Black Sunshine, Black Sunshine
No matter where I look
There's no shade from
Black sunshine beaming it's dark light
On every move I make

Me Phi Me calls out the government along with society for not helping out the homeless the way in which they should. Me Phi Me criticizes society for turning the other cheek against homelessness. People wouldn’t know how it feels to be homeless unless they were once that position themselves.

Who can help the homeless don't you know
You're never gonna hide behind the sunglasses
If your brother's hands are tied
You got to wipe some asses
So men will survive the night
Let the Black Sunshine turn bright

Sad New Day shows spiritual awareness. The song is a surrealistic perspective and insight of society's outcasts who become inspired by the positive rhymes of hip-hop innovator. Me Phil Me on the same level as PM Dawn with spiritual awareness in their music.

Verse 1 shows spiritual awareness of being mentally locked down. Trying to break free from being mentally locked down is not easy. You to be in total control of your actions. Read the lyrics.

[Verse 1]
Pain, it's as dark as the night
Keeps you up-tight
Forever you fight
You try to break the bondage you experience
Deranged, delirious, mentally serious
Tell ME how do I break the chains on my brain
My mind, my body, my soul
I need total control
Of my freedom and my liberty
When will it be for all?
All Berlin walls must fall
The physical torture and mental oppression
The anguish of depression
Life is a lesson
That you've got to study hard because the hard times
Are grippin' and whippin'
Quit slippin'
Don't be a slave just create a positive state
Don't break just make and take
Be great
Don't be controlled just be strong never doubt your tomorrow
And we'll hear you scream out...

When it rains it pours for pain is a force. Let happiness be your source and keep goin' for yours. Let happiness be and your life and over come the sadness. Choose the right path in life.

Verse 3 highlights how life is special.

[Verse 3: Me Phi Me]
Solar energy within ME all through ME
It's the sun full of light bringing power and might
All right makin' everything start to swing
You be the king or queen of your own dream
Life can be supreme, it's a special thing
Just keep the faith through the night time
You operate smooth and you might find
All of the loving, the bliss, the joy -- a happy deal
Friendship and jubilee, you live The Elysian fields
For real -- you need to feel unchained and free
Into the ME PHI ME
And you are in the rat race, so put on your gym shoes
Run emphatically, step on them blues
Choose the right path and be on your way
And you'll be able to say
What a wonderful life!

…And I Believe is about believing in yourself. Believe that you can be what you want to be. Believe and achieve. ME PHI ME stands for individuality for every free soul.
