François K ‎– The Relix EP EP review

François K ‎– The Relix EP is an experimental deep house EP with the legendary electronic techno sound. This entire EP has superb house music for many to enjoy. A distortion filter is used on many of the songs included on this EP.

Looking at the Stars uses a lot of distortion. The song is similar to an early Daft Punk song only this song uses a space soundscape with more echoes, resonance, and reverb. You can feel that distant vibe and feeling as you listen to Looking at the Stars. This song uses an instrumental soundscape with many synths and filters. François K is a genius when it comes to producing electronic instrumentals. He does no wrong when it comes to production.

Vortex is exactly the same as Looking at the Stars only this song uses an auto-wah filter which is why you hear distorted synths fade left to right and right to left. Vortex is yet another electronic instrumental which uses a techno based soundscape.

Moov was a song from his first house release which was François K. ‎– FK-EP. The song was released in 1995 on that vinyl EP. Now this version of Moov is the extended version of Moov which is 11 minutes long. This version of Moov is called Moov (Long Version). The original version was 7 minutes long. Today Moov is regarded as an old school deep house classic due to the instrumental soundscape. The song uses a thick kick drum, chirpy synths, and low bass.

Kerri Chandler ‎– Night Moods EP EP review

Kerri Chandler ‎– Night Moods EP is an EP where Kerri gets in touch with his emotional side. Songs such as  Lonely Love and Sunday Sunlight prove so. Kerri experiments with basslines on this EP more than any of his other releases. The songs on this EP have a more relaxed sound.

Lonely Love is a lovely relaxing tune with a chill mellow vibe. The processed beats give the song an upbeat vibe too. Kerri uses a filtered dub on Lovely Love so nothing sounds distorted. Lonely Love is one of those songs to play during a dark lonely night.

Sunday Sunlight is notable for its thick bassline. The bassline is what makes the song so sick. Nobody knows how to run a thick bassline and mix it up with emotional touching lyrics as Kerri Chandler does. You can feel the atmosphere on Sunday Sunlight. Sunday Sunlight is considered to be a sick by many house heads. Kerri is the soulful deep house genius behind this song. The song is perfect for a dark night.

The Grouch & Eligh - Say G&E! album review

Say G&E! is an album by the hip hop duo The Grouch & Eligh. Eligh produced 4/5ths of the songs on this album. This album gives hip hop/rap a breath of fresh air which is what the game has been missing in. No auto tune or shitty trap beats. Straight up lyrics with real meaning and substance. Plus the raps fit with each other. Each song on this album ends with a positive message.

Say G&E! is the The Grouch & Eligh anthem. Grouch and Eligh got the power! And it don't stop and it won't stop. Wilt nor sour. G’s for the good E for elevation which they will touch the world with.

The Grouch & Eligh know what’s up as they were once blue collar workers themselves. Being in the blue collar work world is not an easy task or a piece of cake. These lyrics below explain the struggle of blue collar life and the blue collar work world.:

But it started blue collar like Basik and Reece
BART to Embarcadero
We couldn't sell a beat
I couldn't sell a verse at first that was weak
We used to speak on telephones tried to work for the man
Might a called your home, to slang you a scam
But that was short lived

Grouch and Eligh used to work as telemarketers. That was their blue collar job. They would call random people to have them buy into the company’s scam in order to make sales. That job was short lived. Telemarketing was a job that they did not enjoy.

Eligh wrote Verse Two from a young man's perspective as Los Angelino. His verses use eclectic penmanship to centerfold. His raps are pieces of an abstract collective of rhymes and rhythms of what he thinks is key note combined with his incentive. His drive and his protective vibe not to let shit die.

Denial is about not being able to accept the truth. Not being able to accept the reality of your problems. Eligh talks about overcoming his drug addiction in his verse of the song as well.

Living in denial will have you stressing in your sleep. It's been like this awhile. You ain't what you used to be. There is no one no where that could tell that things aren't what they seem because in your mind this is how things are supposed to be. You keep on denying everything.

You made a conscious decision to believe this is how things should be. All those smiles yours are a cover up to hide the real emotions. You dodge peoples calls. What's the problem? You say, “Nothing at all."Denial is some of the saddest shit that you will ever witness. Denial is watching someone fall.

There are many forms of denial. Denial can be declaring something to be untrue. Denial is the of anything requested, wanted, needed, cherished, or desired. In this case denial is refusal accept the truth or emotion or admit that into consciousness. In many cases denial is used as a defense mechanism by people. Emotions come into play when this happens.

Eligh talks about overcoming his drug addiction in a positive manner in his verse. He could have been the one who overdosed in an alleyway with no friends and no family. But instead he got his act together and got clean. Positive decision making and motivation is the way to get clean off of drugs and overcome drug addiction. Drug addiction is a cold game.

Here is how he overcame drug addiction in a positive manner.: Eligh soon realized he was headed down the wrong path in life. Opiates got a hold of his brain. He already overdosed on opiates once. It was then that he decided to change his life. That was his wake up call. He severed ties with all his old friends that were a bad influence on him and made new friends that were a positive influence instead. He made amends with old friends and made new friends. His life was so insane but now he can't complain because he is now living clean. His life changed for the better.

Teach Me The Way is a song which teaches us to be always searching for something higher but don’t blindly follow. Don’t be a follower. Don't think a man or a woman can learn everything on their own. Age does not matter when it comes to this situation. The song gets deep and spiritual.

These are parts of where the song get spiritual and deep. Eligh prays during his verse.

Eligh:
How do I take that route?
I put my knees at the base of the couch
I ask for God to take account
Then everything else just falls in place
Thats not the case I got to work
Put it in, willingness is the key to freedom
Principalities surge when I’m not operating on urge
Put that ego in check, then take a sec to recollect on wealth
Not able to meditate quite yet
But sent to set it straight since birth now
Naturally when I'm born with the thought
That we're better than the next man
Getting caught in a savage land
Then taught to fish for the big dream in a sick stream

The Grouch:
What's spiritual? man I'm spiritual
Who's really talkin and who's hearin who now?
Were walkin on sacred grounds
All knowing God He ain't breaking us down
Because He's seen it before and knows I mean to be pure
He sent me what's empty to tempt me and sure
I fell for it first then you showed me the way
My teacher my guru fellow yogi my homie

Eligh and The Grouch here to show you the way to spiritual guidance. Search but don't worship. You're sure to feel the energy within.

Push On (Push Up) sounds very much similar to an Outkast song due to the way they rap, their finesse, and their accents. They speak with a real Southern drawl. If you got a taste for good music, this song is perfect for you. No questions asked.

I Know You Wanna Feel teaches us that we are all vulnerable and all need help at some point. It doesn’t matter who you are. Don't think a man or a woman can learn everything on their own. Age does not matter when it comes to this situation. The moral to this is everybody needs a little help in the end.

K-Rino – Makin Enemies album review

K-Rino – Makin Enemies is a hardcore no holds barred type of album. The album is similar to Variety of Sinz - Jealousy Begins in terms of mood, vibe, style, and sound. K-Rino never fails to disappoint people. This album not for you lame stream music fans out there. So put the album away if you are a lame stream music fan. Hardcore rap lyrics are what you can expect to hear from this album. Makin Enemies is considered as a masterpiece by many.

Head Punches was K-Rino’s hardest song of 2015. This song will remind you of flow sessions. The song is too hard for any rapper out there. So they may just want to take a step back. Some of the sickest metaphors can be heard on this song. He’s got some of the best rhymes. “Emerge rippin, gifted with earth splittin/Curb liftin, word smithin,”

Sensitive Male is a rap song which points out the details of a modern day emotional male. K-Rino uses a comedic twist of hardcore rap on Sensitive Male. The song serves as a representation of what’s wrong with modern day emotional males. Modern day emotional males get butthurt over the most retarded things. This song is relevant especially in these times. As a matter of fact, this song is more relevant today than it was in 2015.

Everybody's Hard is a diss to everyone who thinks they are hard but are really not. A song with heated lyrics aimed towards posers. K-Rino gets cold on this one.

Nappy Nephew - I.S.O.L.A. single review

Nappy Nephew - I.S.O.L.A. is one the most overlooked and underrated rap singles to ever have been released in Chicago rap. Nappy Nephew spits his rhymes with an East Coast accent throughout his entire single in a poetic way that rhymes. Songs on this single sample acid jazz songs. Nappy Nephew - I.S.O.L.A was released on cassette as a single in 1994.

Don Medina produced and cowrote the song I.S.O.L.A. in 1993 with Duane James aka Nappy Nephew. 1993 was a great time for them.

Nappy Nephew takes us back to 1986 when he used to run with D Lee, C.O., Terrel. Looked at as a zero in a small racist tight ghetto, Nappy Nephew never broke any rules. The microphone was his tool. You would go all out in a rap battle at Humphries High School. People would run. You had clout if you won. His rhymes weren’t too rough.

Sometimes there would be a rivalry in Chicago which is Nappy Nephew’s hometown. The rivalry Nappy Nephew is referring to is Bankhead vs Uptown. Back in the 90s, Bankhead and Uptown were rival neighborhoods. People would often try to start fights with each other.

When the rap battle was over, Nappy Nephew and C.O. would kick mad facts. I.S.O.L.A. is the place be for Nappy Nephew

Nappy Nephew was no time in 10th grade. Even when he had time, he would rather be at home and write a mad rhyme. A beat would play inside of his mind and subconscious. He was getting props by the age of 18. He was well known with the women. Chumps would have beef with him but in the end they would lose. Jaws would drop. Cheers wouldn’t stop.

High City was the route they would after the rap battle was finished. D&B was on the same route. The bank was on the same route. D&B was the place Nappy Nephew and his crew would go to shoot the breeze and have a few laughs. Not to mention talk trash. Nappy Nephew would drop a few rhymes.

Tha Ruff Rugget uses an acid jazz sample over some phat mean basslines. The phat mean basslines give the song a New Breed feeling. Here come the Ruff Rugget. You can’t fuck with the street sound.

The song has a hilarious punch in one of the lines. Read and analyze this line to understand.: “You can’t fuck with the street sound/Fuck around and catch a Reginald Denny beatdown” This is the most hilarious line in the song! You can’t fuck with that.

Another hilarious line where Nappy Nephew uses shock value is this line right here.: “It’s either my or highway/My idea of a fly day is you’re watching while I knock your girl sideways” The part where Nappy Nephew says, “My idea of a fly day is you’re watching while I knock your girl sideways” is the shock value because what he said turned into something unexpectedly violent. You can obviously tell that he had fun while writing this song.

Cognac Da Butterman - Erb N Realizm album review

Cognac Da Butterman - Erb N Realizm is a continuation of MOSS - Erb-N Reality. The album picks up where MOSS left off. Da Butterman is basically MOSS - Erb-N Reality Part 2. If you love G Rap, then you’ll love this album. The album has that smooth laid back G-Funk sound that hip hop heads will truly enjoy. ugrap.de has given the album a favorable review. Erb N Realizm is a great album which has good quality sound and mixing. All tracks are worth playing.

Pharlon Randle of Bangtown Productions and Corey Peterson (Co-P) of Full Decq Productions were the producers on this album. These were the same people who produced for MOSS. Pharlon Randle is the reason why this album has that late 90s sound and early 00s sound.

Now the album picture shows a mixed grayscale and black & white photo shot of a shot glass filled with wine or some sort of alcoholic beverage. As you can tell by the color scheme and font, the album was manufactured and printed by Disc Makers in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The album was also designed by Disc Makers too.

What ever it is that you and need, Cognac Da Butterman has it whether legal or illegal. That’s what the song Butterman is all about. You have to be a fiend to understand Cognac Da Butterman. The song serves as a drug metaphor.

He has marijuana. Ask your mama and papa. Word will spread like the Bubonic Plague before you know it. Cognac is hiding at the spot being watched by the feds. Feds can’t shut a playa down. All feds found was a pound of that wild shit niggas like Cognac possess with the intent to deliver. You’re in the right location to pick up this product. Cognac is the only pusher that can calm your addiction.

Fast Cash is about making fast money in the ghetto. It’s about fast cash in the ghetto.

Cognac is a young nigga trying to get things while they are good. He is from Flint, Michigan. Only the strong live long enough to conquer the storm. Cognac has been pursuing this paper since the day he was born. Life ain’t shit if you’re not getting your scrilla ($).

Homies you swore you would die for will play you like a cello. Friends are quick to turn against each other. They’ll be the first to jack.

All the homies are slanging trying to make it out the game. Fast cash brings in big things. Homies burn money as soon as it’s earned. Homies earn money illegally and strategically. Fuck being indicted. Cognac stays strapped with a gat as he’s not the one to be fucked with. Get your cream by all means. We’ve got these gang banging, yoga slanging soldiers on the block. Cognac’s squad will be ready to rock you and the spot.

Cognac represents for the Mitten State (the Murder Mitten) on Murder State. The Mitten State is where wig splitting figures bust for the lust. Cognac is so untouchable and heartless. He’s going ballistic until he envisions 7 figures or more. He is representing M-O double S (MOSS). There ain’t no love so he busts with a passion. He has no compassion for your purpose because he moves so merciless.

Understand that Cognac is from the murderous state (Murder State) where real murderers take time to develop ways  to commit murder. Cognac is from the North Side of Flint where they are known to keep it cracking from the 4th Ward to the 5th Ward. Come and piss a killa off, MOSS will spit out bullets with perfect timing. Follow Cognac’s lead. You’ll feel this rhyming when Cognac raps. Cognac is the antidote for something so wicked and cold. This is way cold. Cognac is born to murder enemies. He’s on point with the point. Don’t let the killer in him get loose. He’s from murderous state.

Cognac is in and out of you like vaginal walls. Criminology is on his mind. Cognac is Cognac da Crucifixionist.

All Or Nathan is a song that has an all or nothing mentality. The song features Illegal Currenci fka MOSS and Shotgun of Top Authority.

Moochie Mack is a rap performed by Moochie Mack who is none other than Supa Dave of 92.7 FM. He was a radio show host and announcer for Flint’s 92.7 FM radio station back in the 90s and 2000s. Only people from Flint will know that the Moochie Mack song is not a Cognac song.

Groovilicious ‎– Groovilicious EP EP review

Groovilicious ‎– Groovilicious EP is an EP released on CD format by New Breed in 1995. The sounds of future jazz and acid jazz meets the sounds of hip hop and electronic on this EP. New Breed never does wrong when it comes to releasing smooth future jazz singles, EPs, and albums.

If your copy of Groovilicious ‎– Groovilicious has the catalog code of “New Breed ‎– NBR 0039-2”, then your copy is the vinyl single and not the EP. There is a difference between the EP and single. The single does not have the songs Cherry and My Thang. The EP has those songs mentioned.

Cherry is a funky jazz song which experiments with the sounds of future jazz and acid jazz in one combination thus creating a fusion of abstract jazz. The sound is so abstract and different from all the other songs due to the funk element used. The funk element used was the upright bass played in the background. Upright bass is used in jazz music all the time. In fact, you can find an element of upright bass in almost every jazz song. The song also uses a light touch of vibraphones. Cherry is one funky song.

What It Is is laced with a piano sample and a phat mean bass. The song is an electronic mashup of acid jazz and hip hop music. The song uses multiple layers of instruments. Not all the instrumentation is looped. Listen to the keyboards and saxophone.

Road To Knowhere has a new school future jazz sound mixed with a hip hop groove. The bass is just as mean and thick as on the song What It Is. The mood is very chill and calming. The New Breed sound is soothing to many ears. Much of the instrumentation is looped.
