DJs @ Work - Teamwork album review

The DJs @ Work - Teamwork album is a highly underrated trance album that got overlooked during the third wave of Eurodance due to the popularity of Lasgo, Aquagen, and DJ Tiesto. If this album had been released on a major record label, then DJs @ Work would have a better chance of success. Nevertheless the Teamwork is a hardcore trance album perfect for the night club. This is an album you do not want to skip out on purchasing.

Activated is a great hard trance song. You can feel the hardcore intensity inside of the electric synths. The song has a futuristic robotic sound. Overall this is a hardcore trance song. Unfortunately there is no extended version of this song around.

Low Noize is perfect for an intense workout in the gym. The synths and beats will pound your speakers. So adjust your volume because the song gets very loud! Unfortunately there is no extended version of this song either. But that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the original version.

You Are Real delves into the power of real love. Real love is a powerful thing. Something as simple as a kiss and a tight hold can do a lot of surprising wonders. Real love is nothing without the person you love.

The song I feel free is about emotional freedom. You leave your troubles behind you. That helps you break free from your problems emotionally. You only feel free with the person you want to be with. The song has such lively energy due to the electronic trance sound.

The lyrics tell it all.

With your picture in my mind
All my troubles left behind
You let the sun shine down on me
Only with you I feel free

I feel free
I feel free

Where I Belong is about getting back to where you belong to search for something or someone you have lost. But you just can’t seem to find that something at all. You’re lost. In the song’s case, that is someone and that someone is somewhere far away.

Read the lyrics to get a better understanding.

I just get back where I belong
To search for something I have lost
But I will never find my way
Since you've been somewhere far away

DJs @ Work - Yesterday album review

The DJs @ Work - Yesterday album is yet another highly underrated trance album that got overlooked during the third wave of Eurodance due to the popularity of Lasgo, Aquagen, and DJ Tiesto. This album is just as good as their debut album and should have gotten more attention. If this album had been released on a major record label, then DJs @ Work would have a better chance of success. Nevertheless this album is a hardcore trance album perfect for the night club. This is an album you do not want to skip out on purchasing.

The Final Dance is a good trance song to get up and dance to. You can feel the intensity inside the synths, beats, and plucks. The song is also perfect for a rave. All you wanna do is just final dance. You’re dreaming of that final dance. You feel so right every time you dance.

All I wanna do is just being around you
Everytime I feel so right
Dreaming of a second chance
Dreaming of a final dance

Dance, while the record spins! (x2)

Do You Remember is a story about a particular night. Do you remember? The night was our friend. Can you still imagine that night? That night full of beats at that party. Do you remember the parties with beat full of sound? Now this is not the end. Things are only getting started with this song as things on this album begin.

Read the lyrics to fully understand.

Do you remember
Do you remember, the night was our friend
Can you still imagine, that this is not the end
Do you remember the parties with beat full of sound
And now we're no more underground

Do you remember
Can you still imagine
Do you remember
Can you still imagine?

The song Will Be Free reminds us that there is no limit to emotional freedom or spiritual freedom. Let us fall down into the sky where we will fly into another world when we will travel through space in time. There's no limit on our way. Emotionally or spiritually speaking. Always and together. Every day, all day. We will be free. There's no place where we can't be. The stars are up and will always shine. And at the end we will be free.

The lyrics are not shy of hiding emotional freedom or spiritual freedom. Read these lyrics below.

We'll be free, uh yeah
Let us fall down into the sky
To another world we will fly
There's no limit on our way
Always and together
Every day

Travel through the space in time
The stars are up, will always shine
There's no place where we can't be
And at the end we will be free

We'll be free, uh yeah
Let us fall down into the sky
There's no limit on our way
Travel through the space in time
There's no place where we can't be
And at the end we will be free

Tell Me Why is a dreamy trance song about having a dream about the person you love. The only problem is that they are in love with someone else.

You see it in their eyes.  That person wants to leave you in your dreams tonight. You are not blind to this. You know they have got somebody else they are in love with tonight. You call the phone and they are not there to answer you. You ask them, “Can you tell me why?”

Lyrics to the first part of this song explain the summary of this dream sequence.

I see it in your eyes
You wanna leave me in my dreams tonight
Do you think I'm blind
I know you got somebody else tonight

I see it in your eyes
You wanna leave me in my dreams tonight
Do you think I'm blind
I know you got somebody else tonight

And when I call you on the phone
You were not here and I was alone
Why don't you keep on, keep on lying
Can you tell me why?
Tell me, tell me, can you tell me why

DJs @ Work ‎pay respect, homage, and tribute to house music on the song Houze Muzik. The sounds and elements of deep house, tribal house, ambient house, and electronic house can all be heard on this song.

Buttabean - Underground Champ album review

Underground Champ is one of Buttabean’s best albums of all times next to his Psycho Therapy album, The Diary of Bean, and his 2007 album. This has a slice of life theme. It has everything from hustling to get out of the struggle of dealing with every day poverty to tales of stardom. Country rap can’t get any better than this. Buttabean is the Bubba Sparxxx of Waco, Texas. Underground Champ was released on Wreckin The Mic Recordz in 2005.

Buttabean marks his entry with the opening track Underground Champ. He goes on to brag about how he is best rapper out of Waco, Texas. The song is a bragging rights type of song. He is going nowhere but up. On this song he raps in the flow, manner, and cadence of Z-Ro.

They say Buttabean is the best rapper out of Waco, Texas. He keeps his composure by smoking dosia (marijuana). He feels like his life is running circles around him. He feels like he’s been lost in these woods and nobody has found him. Buttabean has a bounty on his head because he pisses people off.

It’s been a long walk. You need to put yourself in his shoes before you say anything about him. Buttabean was kicked out of the trailer at age 15. He hustled hard to get cash. The only thing he could do is talk shit and be himself. He was having himself too much of a good time in a life of crime. Money was on his mind. Buttabean was a hustler that was born with a heart. A spark went off in his head while in jail. He realized he needed to turn his life around and change before things got worse.

Buttabean is the underground champ that is rolling on 20’s with money in his hand. Listen to his music. It only gets better.

He’s wasted time on a wasted youth. He speaks the truth in the recording booth. It’s time to move. Now he is a CEO living in a house by himself. The game is set for him. His lyrics are on fire. (His lyrics are fire.) Buttabean is the best of the best.

At the end of the song, Buttabean calls out gimmick rappers who are talking shit out on the street. Wreckin The Mic Recordz keeps it strictly underground. They don’t have to have some big ass studio to show off or stand out. Fuck everybody who has doubted Buttabean and Wreckin The Mic Recordz.

White Boys is about how white rappers have changed the genre of rap music. White rappers have changed the game and opened new doors.

The music industry opened up new doors and suddenly white rappers are the shit. Eminem is making moves by changing the whole game. ICP is still wrecking up shit and are still insane. He claims himself because he is just the same as they are wholeheartedly. Chicks love his tracks. Buttabean loves hitting these streets. He’s a boss. Fans follow him with pride. The game would be lacking in emotion without him. People used to say he was wasting his time and was never going to make it. Buttabean gets better as time goes by. At first he was wack but now he’s better than most rappers. (At least around the Waco area.) Either way, he’s holding it down for the city of Waco.

He is a white boy searching for fame. Now the white boys are in the game, things have changed. Things are changing. He was at his peak when this song was written and recorded. Buttabean knows 10% more of those who went to college. He is positive about his direction in life. Money on his mind gives him erections at night. It hurts him when people say he can’t rap because he is white. Reverse racism isn’t right. Give him a change to shed light on the subject he is rapping about.

Creepin’ has a mysterious yet sinister rock n roll type of vibe. The song is about robbery and theft. Buttabean plays the role of a robber who is stealing various items throughout the song. People get hurt in the process of these robberies committed by him. The song uses a mean bass guitar that is often heard in rock music.

Look at Buttabean now as he is creeping through your house. He is looking for a way to shut you up. Look at all the light shinning on your neck, chest, and forehead. He tried to tell you that there’s no help for you now. You tried to escape but Buttabean captured you and left you tied up. Now there is no way you get loose and go to the authorities for help. Don’t move and run for the exit. If you move, he’ll put a bullet hole where your chest is. You won’t live to see breakfast. Besides Buttabean doesn’t want to clean up the mess. Just give him the combination code to open your safe and he’ll be ready to go. He needs some cash flow to fill his pockets.

See Buttabean creeping through your house late at night with a black ski mask on. His gun’s cocked back and ready to blast.

Police sirens can be heard at the 1:25 mark in the song. Oh damn! The 5-0 is close by. Buttabean had just finished robbing a school of their goods. He’s not ready to die. But he will if has to as he is not going to live that jail life. No jail cell is going to hold him. He has to be a free man. It’s fucked up here in Texas. Buttabean said, “Fuck the police.” and now he’s back in jail the next day. He pays a bond to stay out of jail. You know next week he’ll be back in jail exceedingly fast. He’s going to smash the face of the snitch who saw him. That’s right, bitch. Keep walking.

See Buttabean creeping through your house late at night. His gun’s cocked back and ready to blast.

Now he is headed to his house to relax and chill. He prays to God that he doesn’t find someone else to kill. He will kill if he has to as he is just that crazy. He is looking for a lick in these streets to pay him. He’ll rob you and your family. Your family is mad at him.

It’s some twisted deranged complete insanity. A car approaches your home. Someone gets out of the car. It’s Buttabean and he takes all the shit that doesn’t belong to him. He’ll be in history books in no time as one of the greatest. If Buttabean sees something he wants, you bet your sweet ass he is going to get it. Buttabean don’t play as a he’s all about his business. Don’t test him as he might bust you.

Just Another Day is your run of the mill slice of life song. Perfect to relax to. The song calms the mood for this album after Creepin’ got everything riled up. It’s just another day in Waco.

It’s just another day chilling in Waco. Buttabean is rolling in his ride and checking out the hoes. He keeps on pimping and his game stays tight. Just another party with Wreckin The Mic Recordz. Buttabean is fresh off the scene. He’s a cold kind of fella. The rap game is something he rules. A g with precision and a man with a mission is something he is planning to be. He’s real clever with his rhymes. What he says is the truth and is not fiction. When it comes to being thugged out, Buttabean is the coolest.

Stacking Change is a rags to riches tale about how Buttabean got himself out of poverty. Stacking Change is all about getting money.

Buttabean was living in his car at one point in his life. Since the day he got his first glock, he has been a real tight soldier. Money was on his mind. Buttabean was a hustler that was born with a heart. He put his foot deep in this game. However his life of crime caught up with him as he got arrested and was placed in jail. A spark went off in his head while in jail. He realized he needed to turn his life around and change before things got worse. His life was in shambles. He turned to music as his outlet for revenue.

Buttabean stacking change. That’s a damn shame. He remembered the time when he was living in his car. Then things turned around. He’s come so far. People were all up on his jock. Hoes were on his cock. He released another album and pressed that album on CD for these fucking retards. A dirty trailer trash type of pimp is what people viewed him as.

Even at 10 years old he couldn’t stand to be broke. He couldn’t cope with the reality of not having any money. He couldn’t cope with the cycle of poverty. Every day he wondered why this was happening to him and his family. As you may know his life was already in shambles. Not a dollar in sight. So he resorted to robbery as a means of collecting material possessions and goods. Video game consoles such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Gamecubes were what he stole. Safes were another of the many things he had stolen.

He is a money making dynasty and an underground champ. You can ask him how it feels to be stacking change.

Til The Curtain Closes showcases Buttabean’s resilience. He’s always been a hard worker. He’s never giving up until the day that he’s gone. Buttabean knows that he was born to wreck the microphone. Life is just a struggle full of hurt and pain. You have to maintain your life until the curtain closes. Keep your head up. You have to stay on your grind to shine.

Allen Anthony ‎– Oakland International Sampler album review

Looking for something soulful to listen to? The Allen Anthony ‎– Oakland International Sampler leans much towards the sound of neo-soul and funk. More so neo-soul than funk. The sampler includes the soulful So Selfish, the sweet but sexy buzz single You, and the uplifting motivational cut Alright. Sultry love songs such as Lady Baby and Long Walks are included on the album sampler as well. You and Touch Myself are the super sexy cuts.

The Allen Anthony ‎– Oakland International Sampler (also known as the Allen Anthony Sampler) was released in 2004. The Allen Anthony ‎– Oakland International Sampler was pressed up on CD format only. There is no vinyl version for this album sampler. There is no barcode or catalog code on the back either. Included on this album sampler were full length songs to his debut album Oakland International. On the back cover “The Dynasty Continues” is printed in cursive writing.

Now the Allen Anthony ‎– Oakland International Sampler was an album sampler for what was supposed to be Allen Anthony’s debut album, Oakland International, that was to be released on Roc-A-Fella Records in the summer of 2004. The Oakland International Sampler was produced by Allen Anthony, Tone Capone, and Trey James. Tone Capone and Trey James handled most of the production. Jay-Z and Dame Dash had nothing to do with this album sampler as they were busy shooting the film State Property 2 to be hands on with production.

For those who don’t remember or did not know, Allen Anthony was one of the few R&B singers that was signed to Jay-Z’s label Roc-A-Fella Records during the early 2000s with artists such as Rell, Nicole Wray, and ChristiĆ³n.

The song You was the sweet but sexy buzz single that gave Allen Anthony a minor hit in 2004. His voice is reminiscent and similar to Rell when he sings on this song. The song You is a tale of passionate romance and sex. Sadly the song failed to chart on the Billboard Charts even if the song did give him a minor buzz. The sweet but sexy buzz single You is one of the better songs off the album sampler.

She’s touching him and he is kissing her. It’s a day of passionate romance for them. Allen tells her, “Now close your eyes. Imagine what I'm gonna do. Gonna make you sweat. You’re so soft and wet. You’re the best I just can't wait to get inside of you. Let me tease your body down and all around your body. Come with me. Let’s feel ecstasy. Give it to me 'cause I only wanna get somewhere with you.” He shows her how he is going to give her much sexual pleasure. She is only person Allen wants to get with and have sex with.

Now this is where things start to get sexually explicit in nature. Allen breaks everything he does down into detail.

When she lets Allen use his tongue, she starts to moan. Her rhythm turns into emotion. Every word Allen says is a calculated move. Every move he makes is a calculated move. He figuratively gets inside her by swimming deep within her emotions and motions.

Lyrics to Verse 2 explains into detail how Allen gets sexually explicit in nature. Verse 2 shows his kinky side.

[Verse 2]

When you let me
Use my tongue
You start to moan you rhythm turns into emotion
Every word I say
Is a calculated move
Get inside of
Swimming deep within your motion

Damn your body is like nobody’s
Let me work your body up and down don't hurt nobody
Come with me
Please believe
I will set you free
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I only wanna get somewhere with you
Baby you
Babe ooh
Babe
I only wanna get somewhere with you
Baby you
Babe ooh
Babe

On Verse 3, he shows her how he is going to give her much sexual pleasure and satisfy her needs. He makes it clear to he that he is here to please her. He wants her to spend some time with him, have some fun, and have sex with him.

[Verse 3]

Sexuality is
One on one
Spend some time with me lets
Have some fun
Let me know
What you want
What you need
I'm here to please
Baby I'm here to please yeah yeah yeah

Allen expresses his selfish desire to keep a girl he is trying to date and get with all to himself on the soulful song So Selfish. He doesn’t want her to be seen with no one else as he wants her all to himself. Allen never had a love that was so real and beneficial.

Allen is really feeling this girl. He doesn’t want her to be seen with no one else. He tells her, “You know, girl. I’m really feeling you now and I don’t wanna see you with nobody else. I just want you for me. Yeah that’s right.”

There’s something about the way she is that has Allen attracted to her. All he wants to do is touch and look at her face a bunch. This feeling is taking him like ecstasy. Allen is so selfish when it comes to her. He does not shy away for being aware of this conflict. He never had a love that was so real.

Allen shows awareness of him being selfish in the chorus.

[Chorus]
You’re so selfish when it comes to you
I'm so selfish what can I do (What can I do)
You’re so selfish when it comes to you
I'm so selfish, so selfish, so selfish

He never had a love so real. Clearly he wants to be her man. She is always down for him.

Lady Baby is a sultry love song with a blend of neo-soul and funk. This song is one of Allen Anthony’s lesser known love songs. Lady Baby is a slow jam as the song follows a slow tempo. Now this is one of those songs that you will have on repeat constantly.

Allen thinks about the first time that he saw her face. Those cornrows and painted toes got Allen attracted to her. She is lovely. Not to mention her lip gloss. Her attitude is so sassy. He knew he just had to have her near him. She was something so clear that he had never seen before. She’s the one he wants to be with. He tells her, “I want you to be my lady, baby.”

The uplifting motivational song Alright teaches us that sometimes we need to struggle to reach for something better in life. We need to keep our faith. You can feel the pure soul, inspiration, and motivation when you listen to the lyrics of this song. It’s a positive track for everyone.

Alright uses a huge touch of neo-soul and samples Ronnie Foster - Mystic Brew. The sample fits in perfectly with the neo-soul sound.

Now this is music. The radio stations would rather not play this song but other negative songs instead because this song might and will make your change the ways that you live. The radio stations want to kill intelligence instead of uplift people. Radio stations would rather play that bubblegum pop as that is what sells.

This world's a crazy place filled with such misery. Allen wipes teardrops off his face. His wife's momma's having problems. His child is having problems. Allen doesn’t know how he can solve them. Money won't change his life but it will make things better. Allen is trying to save his family and give them a better life. Sometimes we need to struggle to reach for something better. Allen also tells us to take charge of our own lives in the first verse. That is what the lyrics “take charge of our own life” mean.

Everything's gonna be alright. I know we can make it through this. Don't let go. Please open up your eyes. Rise up. Let's come together. We gotta reach for something better!

All his homeboys are still grindin' and out hustlin' 'til the sunrise trying to make it out the game. Still they don't see the light. Everyone in the hood is striving to make it out of the game trying to reach for something better in life. Nothing has changed.

The second verse deals with how some people have no choice but to resort to prostitution. Read the lyrics below.

My black sister on the street
She makes it her own business
To sell her precious body
(Y'all don't hear me)
Her baby has to eat
So don't hate her for her choices
How do you think she feels inside?

This African American woman sells her body to men on the streets. She engages in prostitution for a means of revenue. She makes it her own business. She and her baby have to eat and survive. So don’t criticize her for her choices because you haven’t been in her shoes.

Oh follows more of a neo-soul sound with a blend of funk. Stone Mecca is the band which provided the background vocals and instruments. Roc-A-Fella was another of his minor hits which helped him gain a buzz in the underground music scene. The song was used on the Afro Samurai soundtrack in 2007.

Lasgo ‎- Lasgo ‎EP EP review

The self-titled Lasgo ‎EP from 2002 featured extended versions of Alone and Something. Those versions were not included on the album version of their debut album Some Things. Bit rate for the songs on this EP is 128kbps. The self-titled Lasgo ‎EP from 2002 was released on the Blanco Y Negro from Spain in vinyl format on 12” inch. Don’t worry. This vinyl EP is not a bootleg or an unofficial release. Every song included on this EP was licensed from Antler Subway Records.

Something (Extended Mix) uses more electronically processed bass than the original version. The instrumental does not last 44 seconds as it does in the original version of Something. The instrumental on this version lasts 1 minute and 38 seconds with the duration being 1:38. Plus the angelic synths have a much louder presence than in the original. Also the extended mix is more instrumental than the original version as less lyrics are used.

Alone (Extended Mix) uses a louder flanger effect than the original version and the bass is turned up to a louder volume. The same lyrics are used on this version as the original version.

Also included on this EP is the Peter Luts Remix of Alone which is titled Alone (Peter Luts Remix). This remix is 8 minutes in duration. Peter Luts produced this remix entirely by himself. This remix can be found on certain editions of their debut album Some Things.
