Steal Vybe - Dance 4 Life EP review
Dance 4 Life is Steal Vybe’s homage and tribute to dance music. That is why this EP leans more towards the sounds of dance music than electronic music. Dance meets deep house music on Dance 4 Life. The duo decided to do something different by using a slightly different genre of music this time. Steal Vybe can never go wrong regardless of music genre.
After Hours has a relaxing lounge vibe and sound backed with calming shakers and Afrocentric beats. The song is perfect to unwind your night to after a hard day at work. This song will make you want to escape from your reality. You know what they say. Anything is possible after hours. So let the pressures of the world go and mellow out to this song of theirs. After Hours was a breathtaking and fresh way to start off the EP with as the opening track.
Climb uses a mixture of electronic and dance. Notice the bongos that are used? The song is perfect to unwind to at night. The song uses a futuristic electronic instrumental soundscape.
A New Beginning is a groover that gives both electronic and dance music a breath of fresh air. Steal Vybe still after all these years knows how to keep their sound and production relevant to modern times. The song is still as fresh, climatic, relaxing, and futuristic as it was in 2004.
Sueno uses Afrocentric beats over a futuristic electronic instrumental soundscape similar to how the song Climb did. Thickness and density of those bongos are what really help make this song stand out. Steal Vybe used a handful of dance beats all over the place. The finger snaps give the song a nice touch. Sueno was a spectacular way to end the EP as the closing track. Sueno is the Spanish for dream.

Steal Vybe - Past, Present, Future EP EP review
Past, Present, Future EP is one of the more overlooked EPs in Steal Vybe’s discography. Despite getting positive feedback and favorable reviews from DJs, music critics, and fans alike, this EP of theirs sadly got very much overlooked. However this fresh 3 track EP of theirs displays incredible craftsmanship of electronic sounds as always. Steal Vybe included a songstress and singer named Monday Michiru this time. This EP was released as a digital download in FLAC format in 2015.
Cast In Your Spell is laced with many tribal house beats, deep house synths, and lounge sounds. Tribal house meets deep house on the song Cast In Your Spell. This song can do numbers on the dance floor or living room. Overall this song is badass!
Changes In Life is a flute driven deep house song backed by keyboard chords and house beats. The flute is what makes this song so dope. The song deals with the subject of change. Change is already here. Just look at the signs. Change is going to come. We hear this all the time. Time is always changing. Change can be positive or negative. This song can help you cope with change.
Where Were You When is another excellent song of theirs that got extremely overlooked. The title of this song is a dead giveaway of indicating there will be nostalgic vibes of yesteryear or memories of the past.

Lil Black - Around The World in a Day album review
Around The World in a Day was a breathtaking comeback album for Austin-based rap artist Lil Black back in 2000. He improved in his style of rapping by using the flow and cadence of Houston rap legend Scarface with a tempo of T-Rock. Not only did he improve his rapping technique and style, his album sales rose by 200% due to radio play of singles Around The World in a Day, Why You Wanna Hurt Me Girl, and OG’s. The Around The World in a Day album sold over 200,000 copies resulting in moderate success for Lil Black.
This album has party jams such as If You Wanna Party, 3rd Coast Rock, Around The World in a Day, and I'm Lovin' Every Minute Of It. Gangsta rap tracks such as When Ganstaz Dance, Thugs Ball, and Do It The G Way are included as well. This album has sexual themed songs such as Play With Me, and Never Let You Go. Also included on this album are philosophical songs such as OG’s and My Message to a Dyin' World. Singles for this album are Around The World in a Day, If You Wanna Party, OG’s, and Why You Wanna Hurt Me Girl. Around The World in a Day does not feature any guest stars or appearances unlike his first album.
Around The World in a Day has tight on point production by Tim Bailey (T-Baby), Byrd, Yoggie Musgrove, and Salih of Carnival Beats Entertainment. However the songs produced by Byrd are sort of bland and monotonous in a musical sense. The beats, chords, bells, and synths he uses are kind of flat and do no have the same velocity of loudness or presence as songs produced by Big Bailey. Now Big Bailey has always been dope with his production. Vocalist Terell gives the album a soulful edge in tune with his singing.
Around The World in a Day is one of the best albums next to We All Gone Die, On The Road Again, and Dark Territory. For some reason, the Around The World in a Day album flew under the radar for some reason. Even moreso than On The Road Again.
Around The World in a Day by Lil Black was released from Big Baby Records and Nuf Sed Inc out of Elgin, Texas in 2000 on CD & cassette.
For those who don't know, Lil Black was raised in Elgin, a small country town outside of Austin, Texas. He has had 2 records on the "Texas Artist Top 40 Countdown" back in 2000 and 2001; (Back On The Road and Around The World in a Day being Song of the Year for 2000) as well as holding down the #1 spot for 5 straight weeks. For those of you who are from Austin, you all may remember that Lil Black had told the story his life story and how he shamed his family by choosing the street life in the Austin American Statesman front page in 2001. (He made news 1999 through 2002.) Lil Black believes that his growth and maturity as an artist time has come.
The intro to this album has Lil Black at the airport. He is boarding a plane to take him around the world in a day in just a 24 hour period. The intro fits perfectly with the album’s theme obviously. You know things are going to take an epic turn as soon as you hear an airplane flying. Things are about to get epic.
Holla My Name uses a catchy chorus and lyrics. Lil Black tells everyone that he will always be there for friends and family no matter what on Holla My Name.
If You Wanna Party is about the party lifestyle he lives and was another one of his buzz singles that got radio play. However this single was not as much of a success as Why You Wanna Hurt Me Girl or Around The World in a Day were.
Play With Me discusses Lil Black’s sexual escapades with women around Austin and Elgin. Terell is the one doing the vocals. You will definitely enjoy soulful sultry sounds of Terell with him singing. You can never go wrong with Terell singing background vocals.
Third Coast Rock is a dedication to the Dirty South. Specifically Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, and Alabama.
Why You Wanna Hurt Me Girl was one of his singles from this album which 88.7 KAZI FM. Oddly enough this song did not stay on the Texas Top 10 Countdown for 5 weeks straight as the title track did. However Why You Wanna Hurt Me Girl became Song of the Year for 2000 along with Around The World in a Day. The song was notable for using the sample of Gap Band - Burn Rubber On Me.
Lil Black explains, talks, and raps about his travels of the places he has been to in 1 day on the title track Around The World in a Day. 1 day is just a period of 24 hours. The beats to this song are incredibly tight. You can never go wrong with Big Bailey.
This song was one of his singles from this exact album which got constant radio play on 88.7 KAZI FM thus eventually holding down the #1 spot on the Texas Top 10 Countdown for 5 straight weeks. The song became Song of the Year for 2000 soon enough.
Lovin' Every Minute Of It is a joyful song which includes production from the producer Byrd. Byrd manages to make this a decent track. Lil Black dreams about his life and how he loves every minute of his life. He loves every moment of his lifestyle. That is what the song explains and explores.
Never Let You Go is one of the jazzy rap tracks off the album. Lil Black lets the woman he dating know that he will never let her go.
My Message to a Dyin' World is a song about the truth of our world of what's going on today. My Message to a Dyin' World still carries a relevant message today. It’s more true today than it was ever before. Our world has been dying since 2000 came around. Lil Black's political and religious thoughts make him shine as he shows self-consciousness and awareness.
Do It The G Way tells the story about a woman Lil Black was dating. He runs into her ex-boyfriend at a party. Things get heated from there.
The song OG's comes from a former drug dealers perspective. The song revolves around his experience as a drug dealer as the song’s premise entirely revolves around the drug game. He talks and raps about the drug game coming up in around Austin, particularly Elgin. OG’s are original gangsters.
The song also serves as a cautionary tale. By sharing educational knowledge about the tricks and trades along with the ups and downs of the drug game, Lil Black cautions those to stay away from drug and criminal activity.
The song explains what OG's in the drug game were teaching Lil Black when he was coming up. That is where his experiences as a drug dealer came from. Lil Black explains the ups and downs of being a drug dealer while operating under the guise of a businessman while pursuing criminal activity. Many known that Lil Black was making moves in the game during that time. Real talk.
He emphatically states how the new breed must learn the rules of the game. He spits "And I blame it on the young nigga/Give'em an inch, they'll take a mile/Never had a real job as a child/But now they livin' buckwild/Havin' money and causin' enemies/Smokin' away as they drinkin' hennesey" as he does his dedication to the originals.
Thugs Ball is one of the club oriented songs with him and his friends calling out at a club. The beats fit in perfectly well with the lyrics.
When Gangstaz Dance is another one of those party tracks which is almost as tight as If You Wanna Party and Thugs Ball. However the beats are bland and flat. The beats were produced in low quality. This song was produced by Byrd.
Come Down, Come Through is another song about coming up. The song is an underground classic to its own right. Now that is understatement of course. The beats programmed by Big Bailey are dope.
The outro and album ends with the plane landing at an airport. Lil Black boards off a plane.

A-Love - Commin' From The Hub album review
A-Love - Commin' From The Hub is one of the most underrated and under-appreciated Compton rap albums laced heavily with some tight dope G-Funk sounds over gangsta rap. The album uses some of the dopest G-Funk synths to the point where you thought this album would be produced by DJ Battlecat, Dr. Dre, or Dangerous Records. Black Jason produced the whole album for Gotcha Bakk Records in 1995. The album was an accurate description of everyday life on the Eastside of Compton, California. Subjects range from the quest for survival, partying, socializing, fun, and gangsta rap.
Today this album is real rare and is considered to be a collectors item. The album usually sells for hundreds of dollars when sold online.
Let Your Nuts Hang is a dope posse cut which featured Bangin’ On Wax members and Underworld Connection (UWC) members such as Sin Loc, Ghostt, Big Jay, Six Million, Blue Ragg, and Arm Robbery. A-Love, Black Jason, and Big Jay are the tightest. The funky diluted bass and bells are what stand out besides the lyrics.
Sin Loc starts off the song with the classic lyrics “I’m hanging like nuts sweating in the gym”. Niggas are already looking shady. Suckers try and flex. These hardcore rhymes past the limit. Hardcore rhymes break ground. Raps are original. So fuck a gimmick.
Here comes Ghostt. Another bitch coming from the Eastside of Compton. Ghostt is a motherfuckin’ G up in her city. Never showing any pity. How the fuck does she come? Like bullets from a gun. Sha-bang! She is just another wicked menace to society. So come and taste her flavor. She’ll give you the whole Eastside. So take cover and peep game. If you want to be down with her, you have to let your nuts hang.
It’s the Brain Gone Click coming at your ass. Creeping through the woods with a shank and a hockey mask. You better watch your ass. Black Jason is a murderer on a killing spree. He’ll kill your whole family. A total psycho is what he is. Beware of him during the midnight hour. Niggas don’t understand Black Jason as he kills competition. He washes them down with a 40 oz. Black Jason is unpredictable.
Commin' From The Hub was the buzz single and title track for this album. The classic song illustrated life on the Eastside of Compton. The quest for survival. There is a Bay Area feel to these beats. The bass lines sample I’m High by Spice 1. The song was produced by CPD10. Pebbles is the homegirl on the background vocals.
12 o’clock on the dot is when A-Love bends corners in his hood in his blue Cadillac. He hits the switches in his blue Cadillac to go into 3 wheel motion on Greenleaf Boulevard. Next he takes a drink. The next place he goes to is a liquor store called Big Time Liquor. Some friends of his is what he saw at Big Time Liquor when he stopped by. A girl gets picked up along the way. A-Love goes dipping and flossing down Long Beach Boulevard in the Compton streets.
Packing a strap for survival to maintain is a way of life in Compton. Compton streets are no joke. People struggle to survive out there. You are a goner if you give up. You could lose your life bending corners in your car in his city. There ain’t no love in Compton. The lyrics “if you give up you’re a goner” serve as a cautionary warning to not give up on life in Compton.
Every day is a different day. And every day A-Love grabs a different gat with a different clip. He is making amends with the mind of a hustler. He breaks people off knowledge because he is no buster. They know he’s got the money as he’s up to no good. Doing the bump and grind real slow. He’s got the honeys jockin’. It’s an every day thing on the Eastside of Compton. Hitting switches in his blue Cadillac.
Big Jay is hitting switches in his drop top 64 Chevy on these city streets. His drop top 64 Chevy sits on gold Dayton rims. Flossing on hoes is an everyday thing for him. That was something he did in the past.
Growing up in Compton is no easy task. You will always have the jackers ready to get your ass. So look out for them. Keep your hand on the strap as you’re dipping through the hub. Everybody is trying to get paid up in the Hub City. Take this as a lesson.
Then Big Jay went to the liquor store and got himself a 40 O (40 oz) and a blunt for his endo (marijuana). He continued on with his day after he left the liquor store.
Black Jason, Big Jay, and A-Love put in work lyrically on the song called It's Like That. This is one of the darker gangsta rap tracks off the album. The song will remind you of the dark G-Funk song The D.O.C. - 4 My Doggz.
It’s the Brain Gone Click coming at your ass. So hit the grass. The phrase “So hit the grass!” is a reference to that sticky green marijuana. A-Love is going out of his mind. Niggas don’t trust him. He might snap and kill your family. The problem is himself. He needs help. Straight gone in the mind and he is already losing his grip. The world’s a trip. It’s like that.
They always said A-Love would never make it in society. So don’t try to fool him. He spent the last 10 years drinking out of 40 oz. alcoholic bottles. He tries to find himself as he sits on the dock of the bay. Who knows what will happen next in his life.
Eastside Funk is funky gangsta rap track backed a funky electric guitar over a handful of collected vocal samples. The song uses samples from these songs.: Zapp - Heartbreaker, Leon Haywood - I Wanna Do Something Funky To You, The Eagles - Hotel California, and C-Ordell - Swangin.
Eastside Funk is one of the lesser known songs from A-Love. A-Love and his friends along with other rappers give love to the Eastside of Compton.
C-Note aka Danny Gyrl throws down one of the most hardest yet funky lyrics during her verse which is at the beginning. All g’s give her respect as she rolls through the LBC which is Long Beach, California. Can’t no motherfucker escape her.
A-Love just boarded of a plane at the LAX Airport after coming from a trip in Atlanta, Georgia. He calls his homies to pick him up and he heads back to his stomping grounds on Atlantic Drive. A ragtop 64 Chevy on Dayton rims arrives. The Underworld Shack is where he dipped to next. He is glad to be back home in Compton, California.
The last verse from Low Bottom Hustlers is the dopest verse. Low Bottom Hustlers is LBH which is a Crip set on Atlantic Drive for those who did not know. Some of them came from Elm Street. Guess who stepped up in the place? It’s the Low Bottom Hustlers hitting you up with all that Eastside Funk in your face. Who wants to get down with the g’s from Low Bottom Hustlers? Low Bottom Hustlers are known for putting in much work.

Wyzard – Future Knights album review
Wyzard – Future Knights is one of the best heavy metal albums from San Antonio, Texas of all time. Their songs use such powerful vocals. Crystal City is a song that kicks ass due to Buster’s amazing vocals when singing falsetto. Breaking The Spell is notable for using much heavier production. Renegade is known for using powerful screaming in the style and prowess of Black Sabbath. Those are many of the highlights.
Wyzard – Future Knights was one of the most overlooked heavy metal releases from San Antonio, Texas due to the rising success of the local heavy metal band S.A. Slayer. San Antonio was the heavy metal capitol of Texas much throughout the 80s and 90s. Texas power metal was on the rise and Wyzard was a part of that movement during that time.
This heavy metal band from San Antonio, Texas released a vinyl EP/album that is considered to be a collectable and is very much a lost classic that is obscure. Rare metal is expensive as this particular vinyl release sells for $900 dollars on average. There have been a handful of times this vinyl release was sold for $1,000 dollars online.
Renegade uses such powerful screaming in the style and prowess of Black Sabbath and Slayer. The screaming parts are just as good as the rest of the song.
Crystal City is a song that kicks ass! The sound is similar to S.A. Slayer, X, Black Sabbath, and Black Knight. You easily tell by listening to the sound that the band Wyzard was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath when they recorded this song. Buster uses such amazing vocals when singing falsetto. But there are some people who think his falsetto sounds silly.
Breaking The Spell is the bonus track and is the last track of this vinyl which uses much heavier production. The heavier production is what helps this song stand out on it own. Not too many people know this but the song Breaking The Spell was a song that cam from their 2-track 1984 demo tape issued out on cassette format.

Hydroponic Sound System – Delirium/Disconnected single review
Hydroponic Sound System – Delirium/Disconnected is one ambient chill vinyl single from hip hop music that is very much overlooked. That is because not too many people know about Hydroponic Sound System. Disconnected is the song which makes the sound for this single be ambient. Alternate Take produces dome of the dopest hip hop music and electronic music.
Delirium is one dope hip hop laced with jazz sounds and phat beats. The song also uses various instruments all over the place. Disconnected is one ambient chill hip hop song laced with an electronic soundscape and various instruments. The song gets robotic at times. Disconnected is such a relaxing song. 3 words to describe Disconnected are ambient, chill, and relaxing.

Simply Black – Nasty, Sexual Thangs album review
Simply Black – Nasty, Sexual Thangs is one of the most raunchiest sexual R&B/soul albums of all time. The album title alone is a giveaway. The sexual explicit nature and romance is what stands out on this particular R&B/soul album. The album has its sexy and sexual moments in a romantic sense with songs such as Phone Sex, Never With U, Shanita, and 1 Nite.
Phone Sex is about receiving sexual satisfaction over the telephone. The lyrics serve as an implication of phone sex going on.: “Since I’m on the phone, why don’t you take your hands, rub your clit, and let me hear you moan”. So the person on the other end of the phone line tells this woman to rub her clitoris to hear her moan.
Now have you ever wanted someone so bad to where you ever had a dream you couldn’t have? Well that is what the song Never With U is about. Never With U is similar to Brandy - Have You Ever. That person’s love is what you need to cling to. You want the person you admire to reciprocate your love. Your want your love to seduce them. Love is what is on your mind. Loving that person you adore is what’s on your mind even more. There is a rush to love.
1 Nite is a slow tempo night jam with that 90s R&B/soul sound. The beat to this song follows a slow tempo. 1 Nite is not about a one night stand tho.
Right Now is a sexual R&B/soul song that deals with unique ways of making love. The lyrics to this song ask the weirdest questions about one’s sexual desires and preferences. “Have you ever of sex at first sight/Have you ever made love on a long bus ride” Those are one of the many nasty sexual things about this Simply Black song.

Lil Hawk - Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album review
The Lil Hawk - Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album is one of the best rap albums to have come out of Inglewood, California. Lil Hawk had charisma, talent, and raw energy when he rapped. This entire is 100% percent gangsta rap with action packed lyrics. His album is similar to a hood drama or documentary. The action, drama, thrills, charisma, and energy is what makes this album great. Lil Hawk was the Blood version of Snoop Dogg. You will love his gangsta rap style in his vocals as this is some real gangbanging music. The old school Dangerous Records sound suites Lil Hawk best.
The Lil Hawk - Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album was an album that had circulated via CD-r format and cassette tape in the hoods/cities of Inglewood and Los Angeles back in 1997. The album had 18 tracks. The album was supposed to be released in 1999. However that did not happen because Lil Hawk caught a murder case over a murder he supposedly committed which landed him in prison on April of 1999. (Which he did not.) Lil Hawk is currently serving a 25 to life sentence at a penitentiary in California. That is why Ronnie Ron decided not to release this album with distribution from Quality Records, Bayside, or City Hall. Lil Hawk’s incarceration hamper any success for his Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album.
The producers for this album were Tweedy Bird Loc, J Stank, Leroy Dukes, QLuso, and Ronnie Ron. Some of the sound and production is not up top notch thrifty state-of-the-art recording standards as Lil Hawk did record some tracks on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker. Some of these songs were recorded in his hood on an 8-track machine. That is why the vocals are lower than the music on some of the tracks.
The first time the Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album was mentioned was an interview called “THE UNTOLD STORY Whatever happened to CONTROVERSY Getting the facts straight by Dee D” which was taken from liner notes to the 1996 album Bangin’ On Wax Greatest Hits.
[Who is Lil Hawk? Did he rap on the first Bangin’ On Wax album and is it true he has a solo album coming out?
No, Lil Hawk didn’t rap on the first Bangin’ On Wax album, he rapped on the “Saga Continues” album and “Damu Ridas” album. Yes, he does have a solo album coming out called “Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood”.]
At the end of the interview is where the Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album is mentioned again for second time. That album was only mentioned twice throughout the interview.
[Ronnie Ron, where does Dangerous Records go from here? What’s coming up next?
Dangerous Record has GONE SOLO. I’m no longer distributed by Quality Records or Warlock Records. Dangerous Records has a lot of projects coming up. We’re doing our own thang. Fuck the BS. I have a brand new album by “Tweedy Bird Loc”, “Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood”, G.W.B., Bloods & Crips Bangin’ On Wax Greatest Hits. Also, Dangerous Records Greatest Hits which feature everybody and a lot more.]
The song Lil Hawk is a self-explanatory song which serves as an autobiography of Lil Hawk himself. The song Lil Hawk showcases the best of Lil Hawk’s lyrical talent and abilities as this song of his one of his hardest songs ever to date. Lil Hawk went solo on this song of his. Y’all know how Lil' Hawk does it! He never goes wrong with his gangsta rap style. And of course it’s that real Damu gangster shit. That Damu shit. This is some real gangbanging music. P-Funk meets G-Funk on the song Lil Hawk. The beats are crazy and absolutely sick! This is driveby music.
The song Lil Hawk was the title track and hood single for his 1998 self-titled album called Lil Hawk. The song was also included on the 1997 compilation album The Best of The Damu’s.
The song Lil Hawk samples Zapp - More Bounce To The Ounce, George Clinton - Atomic Dog, MC Breed - Ain’t No Future In Your Frontin, and Yello - O Yeah. The beats contain samples from Zapp - More Bounce To The Ounce, George Clinton - Atomic Dog, and MC Breed - Ain’t No Future In Your Frontin.
The Westside hoo-riders back in the motherfucking door. YG Lil Hawk on a solo bolo T-I-P trying to clock hid motherfucking grip. Red Riding through your hood with 2 straps on his hips. He is a B-D-O-G (Blood gang member) who don't give a fuck. Bailing up the block in his fresh cherry red chucks.
Inglewood, California is where he stays at. His brother Big Hawk is fresh outlaw is out and ready to scrap with anyone. And every nigga that he know represents the B (whoop whoop). That’s the Blood gang.
Now he is off to the store to get a fifth of thunderbird with the cherry Kool-Aid and pack of big Red. Then he is good to go. This is because he never knows when he might run in to a hoe or a big booty bitch. Lil Hawk is back on the block and what did he spot?A big booty bitch and bunny hop.
Now, come take a ride on the other side of town where the motherfucking homies put it down. Lil Hawk introduces his homeboys and homegirls on the Verse 2.
[Verse 2]
Now, come take a ride on the other side of town where the motherfucking homies put it down
My nigga S.P., my homie Lil' Nut, my nigga 104 laid back is the cut
Lil' D.O.G, Big Go and Lil' O', Smiley, KB we all forms the '4
Big China Dog, 7-11 on the fame, my nigga T-Whirl with the motherfucking gauge
YG's goin' out puttin' in the most work. You goin' out with a bang when Lil Hawk lets his gat lurk and then jerk. Leaving shirts red and messy. Yeah, motherfucker don't sweat him. And what the fuck made you even brings the noise when you know you couldn't fuck with this blood cloth boy? So you better slow your roll. You motherfuckers really don't know that this little nigga, he stays strapped. He plays the nigga peelin' mothafuckin' caps.
Lil Hawk put a clever street savvy gangsta rap twist by rapping in the cadence of the children’s nursery rhyme This Old Man.
Cuz you motherfuckers really don't know
That this little nigga, he stays strapped
He plays the nigga peelin' mothafuckin' caps
See Lil Hawk is the dopest. So focus your eyes on him. He just shakes, breaks, makes, and takes all these fake-ass MC’s. 6 on a TV, 7-11 when he roll. And a limp in his walk every time he takes a stroll.
B Brazy rolled up in a Cadillac Coupe De Ville bumping the M and the L while rolling up a dub sack. Lil Hawk jumped in the coupe and with one hit of that shit and hollered the Blood call "Whoop whoop!”. Feelin' good to know Braze is on cloud 4.
And it ain't no competition when it comes to just flow.Lil Hawk just sticks styles up on you like a dick and all weak ass niggas he is just making them his bitch.
Oohwhee who can it be? It's that nigga Lil Hawk Y-Motherfuckin’-G. He is steadily taking off breakin off all these M-U Double T’s. Tail up in they ass body all full of fleas. You can't fuck with this. So don't even trip. Cause everything a nigga make gonna be the shit! B-I-TCH!
Lil Hawk showcases how he is a fierce MC who is competitive in these lyrics below.
See I'm the dopest, so focus, your eyes on me
I just shake, break, make, take all these fake-ass MC's
6 on a TV, 7-11 when I roll
And a limp in my walk every time I take stroll
And it ain't no competition when it comes to just flow
I just stick styles up on you like a dick and all weak ass nigga's I just making 'm my bitch
(Spyder: Ooh-Whee who can it be?)
It's that nigga Lil Hawk Y-Mothafuckin'-G
I'm steadily takin' off breakin of all these M-U Double T's
Tail up in they' ass body all full of fleas
You can't fuck with this, so don't even trip
Cause everything a nigga make gon' be the shit!
B-I-TCH!
Lil Hawk shows lyrical talent, ability, and skill with the rhymes in his lyrics. Notice how makes the suffix each last word in his lyrics rhyme. A suffix is a morpheme added at the end of a word to form a derivative, e.g., -ation, -fy, -ing, -itis. Read the lyrics below to get a better understanding.
YG Lil' Hawk on a solo bolo T-I-P
Tryna clock my motherfucking grip
Red Riding through your hood with 2 straps on my hip
I'm a B-D-O-G, I don't give a fuck
Bailing up the block in my fresh cherry chucks
somebody blaze the chronic
Niggas on the Westside call that shit bionic
A Lil Something From Da West Side was a leftover track and posse cut that was supposed to be included on the Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album that was supposed to be released in 1999. This song can be found on the 2000 album Various Artists - The Best of Ronnie Ron’s Gangsta-Lation.
Lil Something From Da West Side was a Damu Ridas posse cut that served as a freestyle rap track. Lil Hawk, Lil Ms. China (Ms. China also known as Ms. Chyna), Pimp D (then known as YG Pimp D), and Tip Toe each had a verse. B Brazy, Tip Toe, and all of them had hands on the track too. The track Lil Something From Da West Side proved to the world and fans that Pimp D WAS NOT Tip Toe.
The bells and eerie synths are what make this posse cut sick. The bells and synths are what give the song an eerie mysterious out of control vibe. The vocal sample is from Above the Law - Untouchable.
Inglewood Barz is a Lil Hawk freestyle rap track that has that classic Dangerous Records sound with hard heavy hitting bass that will surely rattle your speakers! Level for bass is quite heavy. The treble inside his vocals are quite noticeable as Inglewood Barz was recorded in 1997 on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker which is why the vocals are lower than the music.
The electronic synths and new school rap sound on My Shit Bang do not suit Lil Hawk at all. My Shit Bang is more of a “hit or miss” type of track. The treble inside his vocals are quite as his vocals could have been mastered better. Treble stands as a highlight out the most here.
104% No Kut was one of the hardest songs Lil Hawk recorded in 1999 before he went to prison. The song was a non-stop freestyle as explained by Lil Hawk himself. This song was also used on Damu Ridas - How Deep Is Your Hood in 1999.
Lil' Hawk Red Riding Hood is rolling on the solo-bolo tip, bitch. You know I'm sayin'? Representin' Inglewood to the fullest. Inglewood For Life, nigga. He is a 104% No Kut nigga. Muthafuckas out there can't fade Lil Hawk.
He calls out fake shiesty ass niggas as they couldn't even look out for the homies. He calls out bitch ass niggas still trying to play the roll of being down and offering support when they actually not doing anything to support their causes. Bustas just don't wanna give the homies their props. He calls out cowards too. Lil Hawk ain't no muthafuckin' joke. So you best to recognize. You can't fuck with this West Side OG (then YG).
Lil Hawk copies and mimics Das EFX’s -iggedy rap style during these lyrics.
Ride on up this... um... biggety block
I got my hand on my giggety Glock and watch me piggety pop
You gets mopped, if you want to scrap
And if you didn't know Inglewood is on the m-eez-ap
Keepin' all the hoes riding on his nutsack and no kut to the punks that ain't down with this shit. Lil Hawk from the Mafia I keeps on makin' hit after hit. Lil Hawk Red Riding through your hood makin' these niggas duck quick. You better know now. And all busta-ass niggas must stay in their place.
These lyrics have many references of music, sports, and movies. Take your time to analyze them.
And I'm comin' mo' G than Tony Montana
I keep it slammin' like N-B-A jam
Like N.W.A. when they fucked up the program
I might be, I'm too slick on the fade
I'm not Special Ed but you can say I got it made it
And I don't DJ for shit you know I'm quick to fuck it up
I'm not Snoop but I'm quick to diggety-dogg the cut
Making the bitches say: "ooh, don't stop!"
"MAKE MY NUTS FEEL GOOD!"
Like Ice Cube I'm - leavin' niggas frozen
And don't be caught slippin' when it's after dark
Cause the niggas with no heart be the first to get sparked by
This young-ass muthafuckin' G
Two Twenty Third Nineteen Seventy-Three, I'm
Flexin' style like this Crens that I've been
Westside Moment is a hood classic to some. However you can’t help but feel something is off when you listen to Westside Moment. Lil Hawk’s flow does not match up the tempo on Westside Moment. He raps way too fast in such a rapid pace that his lyrics do not match up with the mid tempo beats. His vocals for Westside Moment were recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker. However don’t let that deter you away from listening to the track. Lil Hawk is still hard with it. Westside Moment was probably recorded sometime during 1994-1999. The track samples Luniz - I Got 5 On It.
Representn was a track recorded in 1996 for the album Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood. B Brazy takes lead of the chorus by hollering “Woop Woop”. Representn is a Lil Hawk/B Brazy duo cut. Their vocals were recorded at Lil Hawk’s house on a 2-track cassette recorder. Representn is quite similar to Blood Life, My Shit Bang, and Inglewood Barz in terms of gangsta rap.
Back To Reality was recorded in 1996. Lil Hawk was killing everything with his dope ass lyrics on this dope ass track. Back To Reality is the best Lil Hawk track from 1996. The song was also included on the 1997 compilation album The Best of The Damu’s.
Sik Wit It is a sick track which uses a sick beat. The song is a hardcore banger and a hood classic. Lil Hawk uses slowed down chopped and screwed vocals throughout the song. The song was also included on the 1997 compilation album The Best of The Damu’s. Sik Wit It uses the same beats and bass lines as Tweedy Bird Loc - Stupid Shit.
All My Niggas was a leftover from the Dangerous Records vault and was a leftover track that was supposed to be included on the album Damu Ridas. All My Niggas was a Damu Ridas posse cut that served as a freestyle rap track. Lil Hawk, Tip Toe, Spyder (G Spyder), and B Brazy each spit a verse on All My Niggas. This song can be found on the 2000 album Various Artists - The Best of Ronnie Ron’s Gangsta-Lation.
Shit Ain’t Over was a track that featured Dog, Green Eyez, Laniak, Lil Hawk, and Yank. Shit Ain’t Over can be found on Bang'n On Wax: The Best Of The Damu's from 1997.
