Omicron - Acrocosm album review
Omicron - Acrocosm is a fantastic album which fans of ambient electronic music will certainly enjoy. For those of you who love the Instinct Ambient series, you will love this album. They create some of the darkest and mysterious ambient songs with the sounds of their own music.
Tranquility Base is one of the most dark and mysterious ambient electronic songs in the history of ambient electronic music to have ever been composed due to those shimmery pads and textures which used throughout the song. Tranquility Base is surely a genuine modern ambient electronic masterpiece. Omicron fans call the song “Tranquility Base” one of the best ambient scores ever made that atmosphere. Omicron was clearly inspired by Lemon Sol - Environmental Architecture when composing Tranquility Base.
A Thousand Dyes On The Moist Earth is another one of their darkest and mysterious ambient electronic songs. Psychedelic meets ambient on A Thousand Dyes On The Moist Earth. The song will remind you of a song that came off a Silent Hill OST.
The title track “Acrocosm” is one of the more ethereal yet darker songs off the album which has a minimal touch of psychedelic rock and minimal techno which is used throughout the song. You can feel a sense of uncertainty when you listen to the song. The sounds of psychedelic rock and minimal techno meet ambient electronic music. The song will remind you of a song that came off a Bioshock Infinite OST. The song is certainly synthwave based.
Caterpillar To Butterfly is a more vaporwave based song which does not heavily rely on synthwave as much as the other songs on the album. Soft lush mellow but quick techno beats are used. This certainly will remind you of beating a boss in the Bugdom video game.

Ruff Rider – Shaggy Ridims EP EP review
The Ruff Rider – Shaggy Ridims EP has some of the roughest reggae rhythms in the history of reggae music. Electronic music meets reggae with a handful of hardcore breakbeats on the Shaggy Ridims EP. So expect to hear some thought tunes. The Ruff Rider – Shaggy Ridims EP is one of those releases that represents an experimental phase of the jungle drums n bass in the early 90s.
You And Me is a trippy techno reggae fusion song with a nauseous vocal sample over heavy beats, hardcore breakbeats, and lively loud chords. Those lively loud chords are what the song an edge of reggae.
Dance music meets the sounds of reggae music and electronic music on the song Dance Mutha. A handful of hardcore breakbeats are used all over the place next to some sick treble delayed chords. One has to wonder if these are garage house beats that are being used on the song. Dance Mutha is a real tough tune.
Drugged Culture uses some reggae style bass chords over fast paced hardcore breakbeats. You can feel the intensity as the song presses forward in duration.
Move Ya Bod is one of the more livelier tunes on the EP which uses louder and more higher quality production than all of the other songs. The song uses a tiresome yet catchy vocal sample which can be heard simultaneously all over the place.

Aphex Twin – Syro album review
Aphex Twin – Syro is one of those albums that keeps getting better and better as you listen to it. Syro manages to sound both familiar or retro and incredibly futuristic at the same time. So you know this album has aged well. Every single track is perfectly mixed and accurately synchronized. The timbre of his music leaves much to be desired.
u473t8+e [141.98] (piezoluminescence mix) is a mixture of retro electro music and breakbeat IDM in one setting. A mixture of turntables are blended in with the synths.
minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix] is an electronic gem you do not want to miss out on listening to. The song has that retro electro edge. The song manages to sound both familiar or retro and incredibly futuristic at the same time. The timbre of his music leaves much to be desired.
The bonus track EndE2 is the hidden track on the Syro album which has a suspenseful haunting vibe over soft electronic beats. The track grows more and more suspenseful with a sense of uncertainty as you listen to it. The way Aphex Twin laid down the instrumentation is what made the song suspenseful, frightening, brooding, and foreboding.
MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96 was the obscure Syro bonus track on the Japanese edition of this release. Fans call this song one of his very best songs. The piano lead and vocals are very clear. Bass splatters are what textures are used.

Dietrich Schoenemann – Shadowgraphs album review
Dietrich Schoenemann – Shadowgraphs is one of the lesser known electronic releases from Instinct Records which dropped in 2001. Dietrich Schoenemann – Shadowgraphs is an interesting piece of American techno history. In this case with this particular album, the album relies heavily on that ambient minimal techno sound. A majority of the songs are instrumentals.

Pal Joey – New Breed EP EP review
The Pal Joey – New Breed EP is an example of classic house music with smooth bass lines, silky textures, and mellow synths. Jazz meets deep house and garage house on Pal Joey’s New Breed EP. A fine example of some of New York City’s garage house.
Rat Race (Saxy Mix) is a jazz house remix of the original version of Rat Race. This version uses a more jazz oriented style with the saxophones and cellos. Deep house textures are used throughout the mix here. This mix is one of Pal Joey’s best mixes. Jazz meets deep house and garage house on Rat Race (Saxy Mix).
According to Pal Joey fans, I Can't Deny This is one of Pal Joey’s best jazz house songs he has composed in his career. The song has a jazzy edge due to the saxophone which is used sporadically throughout the song. The whirly chords from his keyboard create a wholesome harmony and melody. Jazz meets the sounds of deep house and NYC garage house on this song.
The song Mr. Rogers uses smooth bass lines, mellow synths, and silky textures. The song gets sick when ever that bassline starts to kicks in.

Pal Joey – The Raw Shit single review
Pal Joey – The Raw Shit showcases the more raw side of house DJ and producer Pal Joey. The single is considered to be a true classic from a great producer known for releasing such vibrant wonderful songs. Love Dub uses such a romantic dreamy climate and atmosphere. Such powerful clavs are used throughout the song. I Fell has some of the rawest NYC house sounds one can expect to hear. However the song gets very repetitive quickly. When I Get Crazy uses groovy synths and crazy bells all over the place.

CFM Band – Dance To The Music (Body Action) / Jazz It Up single review
CFM Band – Dance To The Music (Body Action) / Jazz It Up is one of the deeper electronic house singles from the Empire State that has been sorely overlooked by many house heads and fans of electronic music. Nothing beats 90s NYC house. Jazz house to be precise. The single uses a fusion of dance, jazz, and electronic in one recording.
Dance To The Music (HNRG Houzz Mix) is a high energy house remix of Dance To The Music. This song will definitely make you want to dance with the groovy basslines and dance beats. The song does get repetitive of course.
Dance To The Music (Dance Mix) is the more repetitive version of Dance To The Music. Dance beats can be heard of course.
Jazz It Up (Jazz Mix) uses infectious finger snaps, a single horn section, electronic processed piano, and an old timey drum kit over a boogie jazz soundscape and jazzy groove.
Jazz It Up (Swinging With The 808) leans towards using a more swing jazz style of sound than Jazz It Up (Jazz Mix) did. This mix/version of Jazz It Up uses swinging 808 beats.

Aphex Twin - Sys700 single review
Aphex Twin - Sys700 is one of the lesser known yet highly overlooked releases from British electronic music producer Aphex Twin. However Sys700 is quite mediocre compared to his other work. The single has that unique electronic sound from the virtuoso himself. Think acid style IDM music in a sense. Sys700 a digital release. That is why this single was a digital only release Sys700 was available online during a short period of time back in November 2014. All songs were produced from a Roland 700 machine which were those modular synths come from.
Sys700 3 Pts was produced and divided into 3 parts using a Roland 700 machine. The song is rather short but boasts quite a live analog presence. System700 Comp used an acid techno based sound which is what Aphex Twin was looking for.

Ricé - Swisher Deep album review
Ricé - Swisher Deep was a compilation album which was financed and released by Commerce Street Records in 1997. The album showcased and exhibited songs from artists, rappers, and singers Ricé had been producing for at the time. Ricé also showcased some of his best instrumentals which were guitar instrumentals. Over 8,000 copies of the original grey Disc Makers version of Swisher Deep were sold.
The album was produced at Ricé’s Music Box Studios when it was located in his trailer at Westhill Mobile Home & RV Park on Pinn Road in Southwest San Antonio. Ricé’s production style is double bass and double guitars on top of high quality sound. Ricé is known for his smooth production That is why you can hear his sound all over the album. Ricé was one of the “go-to” producers in San Antonio much of the 1990s and 2000s.
If I’m Livin Tomorrow is known for its smooth melodic guitar solo during the intro. A mellow guitar solo pops out of the intro which becomes entwined with the chorus and verses. Jeffery Darnell is the one playing the smooth melodic guitar (the mellow guitar) Dyce blows his audiences away every minute and every day with the rhymes he kicks.
If I’m Livin Tomorrow was taken from the original gray Disc Maker issued version of Ricé presents Swisher Deep that was released in 1997 and reissued in 2016 by IITight Music.
Dyce makes you feel for real on this song. Dyce makes you be fiending. He has no trust for nothing as he never had any real friends. His outlook on life is grim. Dyce gives it up to the G’s above. The G’s who are laying deceased. Soon he drops tears. Dyce doesn’t want anyone near him. He has been living his life in misery. A rough upbringing is what he had. Sometimes he feels like giving up. However he can’t escape. He wonders if he will live tomorrow. All from this life he is living.
Dyce has no mercy. Dyce lives the dangerous life of a gangsta criminal. He feels like his life is a gamble. Rolled like dice. However he realizes that the criminal life is not the lifestyle he should be living. The way he is living is fowl. Dyce is the bigger G. Dyce will blow you away. Every minute, hour, and day.
Gang Story is a deadly tale of gang life in San Antonio, Texas. The song gives the listener(s) details about a tragic gang related murder took place on the East Side of San Antonio. Gang Story has some deep lyrics and smooth production that is well organized. The sound effects in the background are dope. Today this song is regarded as an old school 210 classic.
Now this song was recorded back when San Antonio was the drive-by capital of Texas and gang capital of Texas. San Antonio was the murder capital of Texas during this time. A majority of the drive-by shootings in San Antonio occurred during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s were gang related.
Gang Story was written when Mr. Joshay was serving a prison sentence at Garza East Unit back in 1995. Mr. Joshay, Lil Papa, and Bullet used to bust rhymes for the cellblock. Bullet was the coldest rapper in the joint and in the cellblock. The song reminded them of home. Mr. Joshay wrote Gang Story based on that experience and feeling. And wondering if his homie feel the love when he pours the 40 oz. This was his way to keep his two potnas in his heart. Mr. Joshay never even thought the song would be a hood classic.
Ricé produced Gang Story. Tanya Anderson and recorded the backgrounds with Ricé. That is who is singing those nice background vocals. Now this song Gang Story was recorded at his studio back when it was in his trailer at Westhill Mobile Home & RV Park on Pinn Road in Southwest San Antonio. Music Box Studios was his studio that operated out of a trailer.
Gang Story was a song that was featured on Ricé’s compilation Swisher Deep in 1997. Sean Tompkins put Gang Story on the 21 Crunk St. album when they were short on tracks.
This gang shit is getting out of hand with all these people dying on both sides of San Antonio. Gang violence is all for nothing. Nowadays niggaz go the game mixed up and twisted up.
Police sirens can be heard at the very beginning of this song. So you already know there is trouble. Homey, have you heard? Another gang related murder has been committed in the hood and Mr. Joshay has just received word. There weren’t too many words exchanged. Some gang members threw their sets up by throwing gang signs and commenced shooting. They threw their sets up and just left.
The spot is getting hot. Mr. Joshay could have sworn he saw the devil on the next block over. Bullets were flying, ricocheting off the curb. One last shot was fired. Mr. Joshay looked to check for his money and his sack to see if everything was intact. Everything was all intact. He looked around to only find his homie laying on his back. He had a Swisher Sweet in his hand that was still lit. Blood was rushing from his head and his eyes were open. This state of shock nearly blew Mr. Joshay’s mind.
Girls are hollering at the crime scene. But who is going to explain that he was in a gang to his momma? Mr. Joshay can’t even image how much pain his momma is going through to see her only child laying in the dirty. He can’t imagine how much she is hurting. He shares the sorrow and pain as they stare in disbelief. His momma says, “My baby can’t be dead. Tell me he’s just asleep. No.” She asks why did her son have to die. She starts to cry. He didn’t say a word. How could she be so cold? He asks the Lord to have mercy over his dead homie’s soul. Just another gang story.
These streets can make you feel so sad and cry. It’s enough to make you lose your mind.
Sirens scream and lights gleam as the night got dark. Another tragedy was going down at Lockwood Park. (For those who know, Lockwood Park is located on the East Side of San Antonio.)
Now a news report on TV is being aired. The report read, “Just another gang member shot at a well known crack spot.” The female news anchor reported the following, “Just in on the 10 o’clock news at 10 PM, Police report a gang member has been shot on San Antonio’s East Side. They have no current suspects or leads in this case.”
But being that this murder case is gang related, San Antonio Police Department is not about to waste taxpayer dollars by investigating this murder. The chief of police is at home asleep. Happy as hell because another nigga is off the streets.
A meeting was held in Lockwood Park the following day. The meeting was based on who the perpetrators were and retaliation. Mr. Joshay said, “This ain’t about the gang. So put away your chrome. I know ya’ll feel the pain but let me handle this alone.” They saw that Mr. Joshay was brokenhearted as he prepared to end this war the other gang started. He loads his pistol up with bullets. He pulls the trigger and bullets start flying. The person from the other gang was shot in the back. Mission is accomplished. Murder in the first degree.
Just another gang story. Mr. Joshay wonders if his homie feels the love as he pours the 40 ounce (40 oz.) on the curb.
Lyrics to the chorus represent the insanity of gang life and the streets.
[Chorus]
These streets can make you feel oh so sad and make you want to cry
It’s enough to make you lose your mind
And worry

3rd Degree - Grills, Skills and Purple Spills (LIMITED EDITION) album review
Grills, Skills and Purple Spills marked the remarkable comeback and return of the 3rd Degree clique after the success of their 2002 album 3rd Coast From The Sun. 3rd Degree - Grills, Skills and Purple Spills showcased the best out of the 3rd Degree Entertainment roster back in 2002. The album showcased the best of their lyrical ability, hard punchlines, skills, and flows which their artists had to offer. Liveola and Lil Ken were raw with those hard ass punch lines! Liveola was breakin mics. So was Mark G. Liveola, Lil Ken, and 50/50 Twin killed and wrecked that hoe on the Grills, Skills & Purple Spills album. 3rd Degree - Grills, Skills and Purple Spills is still some of the hardest and best shit ever.
This album set the blueprint and formula for San Antonio rap back in the early 2000s by featuring rappers from different cities in Texas. The album had rappers from San Antonio, Houston, and Austin. This is something in that had never been done before in San Antonio rap prior to Big Ballin or Urban City.
3rd Degree - Grills, Skills and Purple Spills is one of those impossible to find albums which are difficult to obtain as the album was solely sold in San Antonio, Texas. That is because this album was pressed up as a limited edition album originally. This album was solely sold at Urban City at Ingram Park Mall and Windsor Park Mall. And also Hogwild Records and Tha Stash Spot. This album was sold straight out of the trunk and at the malls in San Antonio, Texas.
Now this album was repressed around 2005 but not as a limited edition. The first press edition of this album has the caption “LIMITED EDITION” located on the lower right hand corner. The 2005 repress does not have the caption “LIMITED EDITION” located on the lower right hand corner.
Liveola, Lil Ken, and 50/50 Twin killed and wrecked that hoe on San Antone On Tha Map. Lil Ken definitely wrecked that hoe on this track. Liveola and Lil Ken’s verses were definitely some of the most hardest, aggressive, and versatile verses on San Antone On Tha Map. One thing is for sure is that Lil Ken has got bars for days and is the coldest. Classic shit from San Antonio.
Now not many people know this but Percy Faith - Early in the Morning and Noreaga (N.O.R.E.) - Come Thru are the samples that was used in San Antone On Tha Map.
Lil Ken started off the song with his verse with his lyrics which went as follows, “San Antone on tha map/No need for introduction/Trunk open and it sound like a live percussion/I ain’t hard to miss when I pull up on glass/Spokes sticking out like retards in an honors class”
San Antone on tha map
No need for introduction
Trunk open and it sound like a live percussion
I ain’t hard to miss when I pull up on glass
Spokes sticking out like retards in an honors class
Lil Ken showcases his humorous side with these lyrics.
Not boasting but hoes lick my piece like stamps/Got yellow the same color as SpongeBob SquarePants
Trunk open and it sound like a live percussion/I ain’t hard to miss when I pull up on glass
Spokes sticking out like retards in honors class
Mouth piece the reason why gals spread legs like Jordan symbols
Kyle Lee comes down and does his thing with own lyrics. Here is how he starts off his verse, “I can't deny/Im’ma ride out the south/Glidin on 19’s on a candy red gloss/I feel like a boss when I hog the lane/From SA-Town to Maine Im’ma do my thang/I’m untamed”
I can't deny
Im’ma ride out the south
Glidin on 19’s on a candy red gloss
I feel like a boss when I hog the lane
From SA-Town to Maine Im’ma do my thang
Papa Smurf had some of the coldest lyrics on the song which are, “Don’t hate my trunk shake a vertebrae/And my rims still spinnin when I hit the brakes/Papa Smurf I’m too cold” Classic shit from 3rd Degree.
Liveola was ahead of his time with his unorthodox punch lines. “Jordan scared to shoot dice cause he heard I break mics” You might remember the lyrics “Jordan scared to shoot dice cause he heard I break mics” which came from “Jordan scared to shoot dice cause he heard I break mics/Is everybody aight?”
Hello is one of the lesser known songs off the Grills, Skills, and Purple Spills album which did not receive as much attention or acclaim such as Mash Mode, Represent, or Antone On Tha Map did. The song has a much brash aggressive sound with a touch of loudness. Hello features Liveola, Kyle Lee, and Lil Ken.
One thing that stands out about the song is how Liveola proclaims himself to be the best president. He calls himself the president throughout the entirety of this song. Nevertheless Liveola is one of the hardest rappers outta San Antonio next to Lil Ken, Mark G, King 13, C Stud Vill, Nino, Princess Kaos, and Lil Short among other contemporaries.
Represent has eerie 90s gangsta rap sound and G-Funk vibe due to having the eerie G-Funk whines and G-Funk synths. So listen to the smooth Southern shit this song has to offer. Liveola and Kyle Lee wrecked that hoe. Liveola was bout it, bout it. Liveola and Kyle Lee represented San Antonio, Texas throughout the whole song. Liveola went crazy with it on this one here.
One of the hardest lyrics to the song were Liveola’s lyrics in a one-liner which went, “Not even Quentin Tarantino couldn’t play this role”
You’re lying to yourself if you think Liveola is wack and doesn’t wreck. So you best back back or prepare for impact. It’s fight or flight. Liveola explains this in lyrics to his verse, “If you say Liveola don’t wreck, you’re lying to yourself/You better get about 50 feet because I’m bad for your health”

Omicron – Symbolis EP EP review
Omicron – Symbolis EP features some excellent ambient tracks from the group Omicron. These tracks have a minimalistic feel as they lean towards a minimal techno sound. The deepest song from this EP are Arrowdrum and T.
Arrowdrum is uses a more minimal techno based sound with the fast paced techno beats, repetitive synths, resonating bells, and rhythmic bongo selection. Arrowdrum is similar to those songs you would hear from Blue Man Group. Omicron must have been inspired by the works of Blue Man Group when composing and arranging this song.
The song called T has an intergalactic extraterrestrial planetary feeling due to having and boasting such a futuristic spacious electronic soundscape. The song puts you into a deep extensive trance in some of way partly because of those late night sounds. This song is one of Omicron’s excellent ambient tracks and is a highlight off of this EP.
Whaler is one of the definitive epic track off the EP and is a favorite among Omicron fans. Whaler uses uptempo drums n bass sounds over a techno soundscape. This is some more experimental electronic greatness from Omicron.

K-Sam - Infamous Playa album review
K-Sam’s Infamous Playa album was the most playalistic San Antonio rap album from 1994. This ballin' ass playalistic album had some of the tightest most phattest beats from DJ Snake and DJ AK. Dat infamous playa K-Sam raps some of the tightest verses on this album. Topics such as a jealousy, envy, the drug game, and fashion are discussed on the album. K-Sam explains his life as a drug dealer on the song What I Love Most.
Back 2 Cali talks about the time when K-Sam went back to his home state of California and what his experiences were like hence the song title. He also explains his love of/for the state of CalifnoiaBack 2 Cali uses an interpolation from the Phantasm theme (with the notes slightly changed) with those hard ass beats produced by DJ Snake.
K-Sam is going back to Cali in the rolling hills. K-Sam who was raised in Victorville, California which is where he is from. He likes the sunshine with the gold 40 .oz and a fat ass sack of that indo. Niggaz out here come real with it. So motherfuck New York! They can’t deal with it. The top on his convertible drops as he is headed to/for Lake Tahoe. Then he is headed for the city of dope in the Bay Area/Yay Area known as Oakland. A nigga like K-Sam is here to warn you how he loves the State of California. Hoes with the props. Hoes with the riches. Everywhere he looks he sees the pretty bitches. But most of all he likes the lifestyle even though some people live foul.
The lyrics to the beginning are what made the song Back 2 Cali classic and epic.
“I’m going back to Cali in the rolling hills/Born in Spain/Raised in Victorville/And I like the sunshine with that gold 40 o and fat ass sack of that indo/Now niggas out here come real with it”
Drop my top and headed for Lake Tahoe/Where you going then, nigga?/To the big O-A-K-L-A-N-D/The city of dope is what Too Short tells me/nigga like K-Sam is here to warn you how I love that California/Hoes with the props/Hoes with the riches”
What I Love Most is a song written and performed on the solo tip by dat infamous playa K-Sam. On his song K-Sam tells us why he loves being a drug dealer throughout the entirety of this song. The song was written from a drug dealer’s perspective on life. The life of a drug dealer.
What K-Sam loves most is being a drug dealer. Some niggaz try to shoot him and put an end to his career as a drug dealer. He ain't gettin' caught slippin' by no motherfuckin' BG. K-Sam is too smart for that. Every morning he wakes sound of the birds. Not the birds in the trees you know I mean them ki’s. All he talks about is profits. Drugs help him support himself and his family.
The lyrics “I wake up every morning to the sound of the birds/Not the birds in the trees you know I mean them ki’s” are what made What I Love Most a memorable classic.
K-Sam got that fresh candy on his hoopty. Triple gold Dayton rims on his Cadillac. A phat ass doobie is in the ashtray. He then went straight to the cleaners. He hit a fat lick last night. So he buys his mother a leather couch. He buys himself another diamond ring. His rent was paid off for 12 months. Another nigga is always trying to take away all the profits. So he stays strapped with his gat at all times.
K-Sam is an infamous playa who is the neighborhood drug dealer. His life in the illicit drug trade as an infamous drug dealer is often dangerous. His life as a drug dealer is filled with danger that comes along with the lavish thrills. He is often able to take out of state trips.
It’s Saturday night. So K-Sam goes to the Hyatt Regency hotel to get a room. He is having hoes that are giving him sexual pleasure and gratification. It’s all about the pimping and making big money on the corner. Now he is off to California to sell drugs and make profit. K-Sam looks at the profits that pack made for his boys. K-Sam is taking half of the profits that the pack made for them and using the money to take a trip to Las Vegas with the Youngsta Mafia. Mike E.D. made $1,000 dollars while playing a game of Roulette. Magic Mark hit a $20,000 bet. K-Sam is having so much money that your ass can’t even imagine.
The song Player Hater deals with jealousy and envy. All them players haters in the game are jealous and envious. Player Hater uses some soft lush beats with a super mellow female chorus.

Various Artists - Poets & Gangstas album review
Poets & Gangstas was a compilation album of artists from San Antonio, Dallas, and Fort Worth released on Youngsta Records in 1995. Youngsta Records was based in San Antonio, Texas. Poets & Gangstas is a gangsta rap compilation of sorts. Everything from hardcore gangsta rap to soul can be heard on this album. If you mix Ruthless, Bad Boy, Rap-A-Lot, Black Market Records, AWOL, Grapetree, Motown, New West, and Luke Records, you'll get Youngsta Records! Think about it that way. Be sure to buy this dope ass compilation if you because it is long out of print! This is an album which every song is worth listening to. No tracks are worth skipping. You won't regret it!!
It would have been more dope if C-Stud Vill, Lil Sin, C-Ordell, Sweet-P, Denise James, K-Ski, Staci Russell, Mr. Joshay, Ricé, Finesse 1, Dirty Red, Jr. Boy, Twice Tha Power, MC Falcon, and Sharon Lincoln had made features on this dope ass compilation. But for whatever reason they didn't which is too bad.
The first song is the title track with Nino, Kottonmouth, and Pops. This song has that San Antonio Doo-Dooism sound with heavy bass and heavy guitars produced by DJ Snake. The song is a Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio collabo. That's what Texas rap and hip-hop sounded like in the mid 90s. Great song! The track Poets & Gangstas is very similar to Creepin' On Ah Come Up.
The Murda Afta Murda song is not the remix that is on Kottonmouth's 1995 debut album on Youngsta Records. This is the original version. It is one heavy ass G-Funk bass track! DJ Snake produced the beats. It would have been dope if this version was on his 1995 debut!
The song Ill Regala was written and performed by the rap group Ill Regala. Ill Regala was a rap group from the Westside of San Antonio, Texas in the mid 90s. The duo was more the less unknown outside the highway loops of San Antonio. Ill Regala has both a hip hop and rap sound. A funky guitar loop resonates all over the track. The song Ill Regala is hip hop sound meets rap.
Nino tells us how he talk the talk and walk the walk on Walk The Walk. This song has that San Antonio Doo-Dooism sound with heavy bass and heavy guitars produced by DJ Snake and Ricé. Nino explains on the song why police want to throw him in Bexar County and lock up him permanently.
Nino serves them up with some of that dope shit. Police want to throw him in Bexar County Jail for that. A high ass bounty is placed over his head. It’s kind of fucked up that your boy is seeing all these county blues. All that fucked up food. He is gambling in jail. He can’t wait to hit the streets. 13 weeks is how long he had been in jail.
His pockets are swole because he just got his serve on. Got 1/5 of bourbon and a sack of weed. Packing a tech for you playa hating hoes. Flossing down the strip like the playas do. The game is not the same like it was in 1992. 5-0 is always trying to catch a nigga.
Million Me's is one of the more harsh yet darker songs on the album. The song has such enigmatic versatility. The song has storytelling rap similar to Slick Rick, Biz Markie, and Lil Sin. Mad Wisdom tells us the story of how he divided himself into a million copies of himself. Watch Mad Wisdom as he divides himself into a million copies of himself and be the only dope emcee (MC).
The song was produced by the legendary DJ Snake. So you already know this is going to be pure G-Funk. He produced those beats and synths you hear on this song. Bhumble Bhe and DJ Snake produced the drums and bass used on this track. Million Me's uses a Kenyatta Banks sample over a looped guitar sample and distorted bass notes. Million Me’s is just a dope ass freestyle song. A remix version of this song appeared on his 1998 self-titled debut album. Mad Wisdom is from Fort Wort, Texas and was on Youngsta Records and Midwest Records from 1995 to 1998.
Mad Wisdom lost himself up in hell. His brain swelled. Is he going crazy? “Am I going crazy?” is the question Mad Wisdom asks himself as he has gone psycho. Can the world tell? Smell the smoke that he sends. He is gone in with the wind. He finds himself on the other side looking. He does not like the future that he is seeing. Everything is gory in the future he is seeing. This future involves violence and bloodshed.
It may be a trick. African American people have been tricked before in the past many times. America ain’t no candy store. The devil offered Mad Wisdom an apple. Mad Wisdom preferred Snapple. So the got capped as Mad Wisdom shot the devil with a gun. One minute the devil was a snake and the next minute the devil turned into Uncle Sam. Then the devil transformed into death in the palm of Mad Wisdom’s hand with 7 hoes bleeding as he dies. This is all a dream though. He is dreaming in Dallas, Texas hence the reference to the area code 214. He wakes up screaming.
Watch Mad Wisdom as he divides himself into a million copies of himself and be the only dope emcee (MC).
Hell is the street that he stands on in Dallas, Texas. He doesn’t give a fuck about you marks. Misery loves company. So he invites misery right on in. He is awake in the night. The streets are a place of suffering, destruction, and misery of course. Which way is Mad Wisdom turning?
People rise from a cemetery as they are burning. Walls are burning. The devil is their god. Now this cemetery is an everlasting cemetery. Everybody is lost.
He asks for money to save. He asks, “Who is God? Who am I? Who is it who played me?” Mad Wisdom is living with no hope so he is going to take your life away. You’re gonna disappear from this earth.
The blunt burns slowly as he continues his flow. Notice the smells. He was raised in hell (Dallas, Texas). His freestyles are furious and at the same are wicked. He kicks wicked wisdom as he’s about to hang these tracks. There ain’t no coming back from the sinful side of life. Life after death because after death comes life. Mad Wisdom is mentally sick inside. Mad Wisdom called out the media and America for portraying a negative light on African American people. Flames stay lit in the midst of civil unrest. The god screams, “American is in trouble!”
What I Luv Most is a song by dat infamous playa K-Sam. This is a different version of the original version that appeared on the Infamous Playa EP by K-Sam in 1994. DJ Snake produced the beats for this song of course. This is one playalistic remix!
All In is a smooth fast song by Pinhead aka C-Lo from Fort Worth. He was in P.K.O. in the 1990s. Do or die is the mission. So don’t ask why, fool. Pinhead sounds a lot like Ice Cube on this track.
Gangsta Mental is an instrumental drums and bass track done by the one and only legendary DJ Snake from Dallas. DJ Snake was going back and forth from Dallas to San Antonio at that time in the mid 90s working for both Youngsta Records and Profile Records. DJ Snake needs to make a comeback with Ron C again like he did in 2004.
The final song, Poets & Gangstas (Remix), is a remix of the first song with an unknown quirky rap group called ANIA. ANIA was apparently a one time rap group that collaborated to perform this song.
5/5*****!!
