Kut-N-Kru – Nightbreed album review
Kut-N-Kru – Nightbreed is one of the darker Kut-N-Kru albums with a chill vibe. Kut-N-Kru decided to use a more dark sound for this album instead of relying solely on old school hip hop soundscapes and turntableism as they usually do. This album leans more towards gangster funk production. However Kut-N-Kru reverted to their original hip hop roots on Ganja.
Microphone Tec-9 is one of their lyrical songs similar to Bone Thugs N Harmony. Microphone Tec-9 is also one of the darker songs on the album which uses that gangster sound.
Numb explains how love makes you do crazy things. Numb has a cold chilling vibe due to the organs which are used. Amber Romero kills it with her vocals. The song Numb is regarded as Kut-N-Kru's best songs by Kut-N-Kru due to the cold chilling vibe and background vocals.
Kut-N-Kru returned back to their original hip hop roots on Ganja with old school hip hop soundscapes, vocal sampling, and turntableism. You know. That Kut-N-Kru sound which Kut-N-Kru is regionally known for. All scratches were performed by Gary "Scratch G" Martinez.

X-Niggaz - X-Niggaz album review
X-Niggaz - X-Niggaz is a pro-black revolutionary album with Afrocentric themes based of the religion of Islam with a touch of spoken word introductory. Thin X-Clan, Da Lynch Mob, or Me Phi Me with a more aggressive politically militant stance. As one can tell by looking at the album, some of the members from X-Niggaz belongs to/associated with NOI (Nation of Islam) and affiliated with the FOI brotherhood (Fruit of Islam). X-Niggaz are former members of rival gangs who have come together to make a record and unite the gangs of Chicago, Illinois in an effort of peace. Now you know this album was released in the 1990s one of the members is wearing a shirt saying “FREE MIKE TYSON”.
High-Tech Lynchin relies heavily on Da Lynch Mob samples in a somewhat surprising way over banal snare drums. The subject revolves around the history of harsh treatment towards African Americans in the United States. High-Tech Lynchin also explains what modern day lynching is. High-Tech Lynchin samples Lost in Tha System and Guerillas in Tha Mist by both Da Lench Mob.
Message To Tha' Blackman is a message to the black man in America telling him to wake up. There is some anti-white sentiment as this is an anti-white rap track. The track explains the Nation Of Islam’s hatred towards white Americans and white people in general. The members abhor the wicked evil lifestyles of America. This is one of their more woke socially and politically conscious tracks. Message To Tha' Blackman is similar to the track Wake Up.

X-Niggaz – Runnin' Thangz album review
X-Niggaz – Runnin' Thangz is a pro-black revolutionary album with Afrocentric themes based of the religion of Islam with a touch of spoken word introductory. Thin X-Clan, Da Lynch Mob, or Me Phi Me with a more aggressive politically militant stance. This is evident on tracks such as Runnin' Thangz, Pressure, Bring It On, and Drop Da Bomb. X-Niggaz are former members of rival gangs who have come together to make a record and unite the gangs of Chicago, Illinois in an effort of peace.
The original version of the Pressure uses thicker beats and bells which have more resonance. The beats are not plain either. Pressure was later remixed and released as a single for their 1996 album Hustle On.
by X-Niggaz. Original version of the track "Pressure" can be found on the Runnin' Thangz album.
The title track Runnin' Thangz is about how African Americans are running things in the United States which scares white people. Black people will take a stance against racism and prejudice.
We Comin explains how African Americans are coming up in the United States. The track serves as empowerment for African Americans. We Comin is one of their more disturbing songs with references to bestiality. One of the members make a reference to white people that have sex with animals specifically during Verse 2 at about the 1:30 mark. "Havin' Sex With Animals" is one of the weirdest lines on the track.
Wake Up is a message to the black man in America telling him to wake up. This is one of their more woke socially and politically conscious tracks. Wake Up samples Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye and Weekend Girl by The S.O.S. Band.
The black man in America is blind. Doesn't know who he is and what time it really is. He's in the dope game with the cocaine and the crack, got a gat with a 20 sack. A Benz and a Cadillac like a mack.
White people give black people guns and drugs just to watch black people kill each other. That is just another way to try to keep African Americans blind, deaf, and dumb. That is what the lyrics, “By killin' the black for the green, got the white man havin fun/Givin up the machine guns/Watchin us kill each other/Fightin' over 'Parkay', they're scared of the real butter” mean.
X-Niggaz wants African Americans to stop killing each other over foolishness. So can you see where they’re coming from? Ironically however X-Niggaz advocates violence towards the government with lyrics such as “Point that AK at the wicked wicked USA”. Kind of hypocritical in a non-violence sense.
African Americans are steadily being pimped like a trick by the devil that is Uncle Sam. White people give black people guns and sell drugs to black people. But if he only knew that he was a pawn in the game. He's makin' them some money but it ain't funny, is it? I wonder if he knows he's slangin' that cocaine for the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. Doin' it beause he think he can't escape from the ghetto. Dying everyday over nothing but nonsense. It's getting worse and I don't know if it'll ever stop. It ain't hard to tell that a white man's heaven is a black man's hell.
X-Niggaz explains the history of slavery in the United States in these lyrics.
Lazy and crazy was the way they gave thee
Raise black babies ever since the day we
Was bought here in chains, over nine thousand miles
Our bodies stacked and packed in big black piles
They broke us down in the Caribbean
We knew sometin' wasn't right about that pale-faced European
Livin' anyway in sophisticated bondage
Dyin' everyday over nothin' but nonsense
It's gettin' worse and I don't know if it'll ever stop
Now to the blind brothers without the power of sight, the rhyme shines bright in your mind with divine light. Deaf are the rhymes. Can't hear because they fear.

Soldierz At War - S.A.W. album review
Soldierz At War - S.A.W. is a great conscious hip hop album with no profanity or obscene language considered to be offensive. Its lyrics are both politically and socially conscious Soldierz At War is more focused on this album than many of their other albums. Big Ed from No Limit Records, Killah C, Newsense (the girl from Psycho Drama), and Mo Mike are the most featured artists on the album. Killah C and Mo Mike are featured all over the place on this Soldierz At War album.
Soldierz At War - S.A.W. is a Chi-Town jewel produced by members of the Nation of Islam and FOI members (Fruits of Islam) in Chicago, Illinois. This album was not sold in stores but on neighborhood street corners. This album was sold along with The Nation newspaper and those delicious baked bean pies which were home-cooked. The S.A.W. album was a success on the Chicago streets! It sold over 100,000 units alone for $10 dollars each in physical format back in 2000! As-Salaam-Alaikum (Peace be onto you.)
Miss You Homie is a sad heartfelt rap song dedicated to the dead homies that passed on. The song will touch the hearts of all those who have lost loved ones to the war in the streets. The song itself has a blues feel to it. The song features Big Ed from No Limit Records.
The track Soldierz At War is a funky ghetto tech rap song that features Big Ed from No Limit Records. This track itself is the highlight track. Soldierz At War is about being focused both politically and socially conscious speaking. Its lyrics are very insightful. support the cause of growth and development w/our young black very impressionable youths
Enemy Lines is an overtly political cut with focused insightful lyrics. Millitary Ridaz was a song dedicated to the ridaz in Chicago and the Midwest.

Mark Almaria – Abstract Beatdown EP EP review
Mark Almaria – Abstract Beatdown EP is a definite must have for any fans of hard house. You have the repetitive synths and vocals as any hard house release would. Now there are a handful of abstract break beats used on these songs. Abstract Beatdown EP is the hard house answer to Daft Punk - Burnin as there are several intense buildup on all the songs.
Fists Of Fury is the hard house answer to Daft Punk - Burnin. You have a warped buildup which starts at 0:45 which is layered with electronic blips and another buildup at 1:15 where the intensity begins. Around the 1:30 mark is where the song starts sounding similar to Daft Punk - Burnin with the vinyl scratches. The intensity continues throughout the entire song as a whole. Abstract break beats are used.
The Alarm begins off with some super heavy thick hard house beats either from a SPC 1200 or a 303 of sorts. The Alarm is a continuation of Fists Of Fury as The Alarm picks up where Fists Of Fury left off. This song is similar to Daft Punk - Burnin and is another hard house answer to Daft Punk - Burnin. An intense buildup of blips and synths begin at the 1:36 mark when the interval changes. An insane buildup begins at 2:10 as that where the song begins sounding like Daft Punk - Burnin.
The David Garcia & Jay Walker Solmatic Remix of The Alarm is a lo-fi remix of The Alarm with a bit more static and slight distortion.

Magic - My Time album review
Magic - My Time has that rough edge of Southern style street rap with a crossover pop sound mixed with a tinge of soul. Southern rap meets crossover pop and soul. This is evident on songs such as What and Good Life.
The Magic - My Time album is a No Limit album which many No Limit fans remember as the Magic - My Time album was advertised in Master P’s Gameface album back in 2001. Magic - My Time was supposed to be released in March 19, 2002. However this did not happen because of Lil Romeo’s rising popularity at the time. Lil Romeo’s rising popularity coincided with the scheduled release date of Magic - My Time. So Magic’s album was put on hold and Lil Romeo’s Gametime album was placed high on the list of priorities for No Limit. Many people had high hopes for this album despite being advertised when No Limit Records was falling off.
Sow what happened was the Magic - My Time album was a No Limit album that was revamped and rearranged into a different album called Magic - White Eyes which released on March 18, 2003. This makes sense because Magic album was advertised as “White Eyes” in the 504 Boyz – Ballers album. Master P renamed his album to White Eyes sometime during 2002. The reason Master P changed the title to his album was become relevant with the popular music of that time in order to stay relevant. The album had songs which were later used on the 2003 album Magic - White Eyes.
The song What was used as the buzz single for what would have been his 2002 album. The song was played constantly on radio stations across the United States and Canada. Despite having a strong radio buzz, his album was not released in 2002 as No Limit had planned. This song is the reason why many No Limit fans knew about this album. Magic snapped on What. Now this song does not appear on his 2003 album White Eyes as some people would believe.
The song has that rough aggressive edge of street rap. This song is perfect to lift weights to. Too bad not a lot of people know about this song.
Some people remember that Magic and Master P performed this song to Tigger on Rap City The Basement back live on TV back in 2002. The song was performed live. This is what helped make his song even more memorable.
6 Piece helped bring in the crossover sound of pop for the album on the song Good Life. Pop meets rap music on Good Life. On this song Magic explains how he can give women the good life. He knows how to make them feel good. What Magic wants you women out there to understand is that he knows how to treat you. He knows how to give women what they need and knows how to make them feel good.
Magic wants women to be free themselves. Lyrics to the chorus at the very end explain this.
[Chorus]
[6 Piece + (Magic)]
I said playas (see we playas baby)
Do you wanna take a chance
I'm just trying to teach (well go ahead and teach em 6 Piece)
I wanted you just to let yourself be free (uh)
Free and give it to me
War explains how Magic is a one man army as a lyricist. No human being can come in between what Magic puts together. He also stands as a boss for himself.
This organization was built on Magic. No man can come in between what Magic puts together. He is the foundation. He will weather the storm. You don't wanna go to with him. His niggas be too dangerous. You don't wanna go to war with these niggas. You don't wanna go to war with these soldier boys. They bout it bout it.
Magic spits shit that make the average person shake. They do not stand a chance against him as he is one of the top dogs from No Limit Records. This time Magic is playing for keeps. Close and personal with the sorrow. This game is not fair. Settle for less and let the stress make us forget about better days. Like Fiend he won't be denied and refuses to be defeated.
Magic gets vicious and violent by using graphic details in his lyrics during Verse 2.
See I'm sick dog, and I rip your lip off, if I get pissed off
Or ripped off uh-huh, that's when the shit starts
I'm vicious, I didn't get all of my shots
When I bite I lock, and I won't let loose until the bones pop
And I watch you, until your vital signs stop
And walk off in the night, with no worries fuck the cops
This shit is real dog, play with us and watch how many pop up
In the junk yard scattered round, bodies all chopped up
If I flip out, I take a quick flight up out the country
Better ask somebody, Mr. Magic he acts a donkey
Magic snapped on What U Gonna Do. Magic was a beast lyrically. The song had that New Orleans style zydeco with the accordion which compromises the gumbo funk portion of the song which makes this song one of the livest songs off his album.
Magic is passing up all the haters while in his Navigator on cruise control. He warns haters to stay from his 9th Ward crew. His 9th Ward crew shouldn't be disregarded as they are the hardest. You can see Magic in them clubs hanging out with the thugs. Smoking the finest doe-doe.
Magic gets creative with his lyrics by adding cultural references to his punchlines. Here is an example below.
I keep's it on the low-low, cause if my wifey do that
She'd prolly buy a Louis slugger, whip a nigga blue-black
See I'm a casanova, mixed with a little rover
I'm more doggy than Snoop, when I'm in them hoes over

Tweedy Bird Loc - No Holds Barred album review
Tweedy Bird Loc's album, No Holds Barred, was claimed to be one of the hardest albums of 1994 despite having some laughable tracks and skits whick get annoying quickly. There was certainly enough amount of guest spots from others. Not surprising since Fo Clipse, Keystone, Tammi Holt, Lil Stretch, and Big Wy were all over the album. The album had explicit dirty gangsta rap tracks such as Album Bitch, Dub Sack, Walk That Walk, and Gangsta Tweed. You have your politically charged tracks such as Tweedy for President and My Dicc Is Still Prejudiced. Nonsensical comedic skits such as Street Jokes, Girls I've Done Fucc Before, and Real Gangsta Shit are included on the album.
Diss tracks are Keep On Walkin, Outta Here, Walk That Walk, Album Bitch, I Got My Strap, Y’all Can’t Fucc With Us, Real Gangsta Shit, Dangerous is the Shit,
Now the album had some of the hardest beats which were produced by DJ Battlecat and Qluso. Tweedy Bird Loc was not taking any shorts or losses in 1994. He only chose the best beats from the best producers in town during that time. The production team (Captain Geek & DJ Noise) from his debut album, 187 Ride By, is what this album was missing. No Holds Barred did not capture the same old school essence formula or old school sound as 187 Ride By did. His songs do not solely rely on old school 70s funk samples but rather leans towards G-Funk instead. While the album had some of the most excellent beats of 1994, his lyrical content and guest spots were lagging in terms of quality. Nini X, Sin Loc, Notorious Joe, D Mark, and MC Smooth did not make any guest appearances on the album.
Quality Records and Pump Records did not promote his 1994 album due to the amount of profanity, racism, vibrant misogyny, and harsh disses aimed towards others in the music industry. This is one of those albums that fit in perfectly with the pre-cancel culture era. People would not be able to handle his humor. So don't go knocking a hard nigga like Tweedy.
The best tracks on the album are Keep On Walkin, Dub Sack, Outta Here, Walk That Walk, I Got My Strap, Y’all Can’t Fucc With Us, Real Gangsta Shit, and Dangerous is the Shit. The worst tracks on the album are C Thru The Bullshit, Street Jokes, My Dicc Is Still Prejudiced, Gangsta Tweed, and Girls I've Done Fucc Before. The hardest tracks on the album are Keep On Walkin, Dub Sack, Outta Here, Walk That Walk, I Got My Strap, Y’all Can’t Fucc With Us, Gangsta Tweed, Real Gangsta Shit, Fucc Miami, I’m Calling You A Bitch, and Dangerous is the Shit.
Album Bitch is about how ladies suddenly decide to notice Tweedy Bird Loc and give him attention or recognition because he is a rapper who has a record deal and are now all hounding his jock.
Tweedy Bird Loc remembers a time when he was broke and being looked and laughed at as a motherfuckin joke. Bitches would give him any attention or recognition. Or any play. All because he didn't have no money But the shoes are on the other foot now. So Tweedy Bird Loc is about to straight clown all you materialistic, scandalous ass bitches that be tryna get with him for his riches. But you hoes ain't real. The only reason why you jockin him is because he’s got a fuckin record deal. Tweedy Bird Loc quickly and explicitly lets ladies know that he is no Rest Haven for no goddamn hoe. Tweedy Bird Loc was not taking any shorts or losses in 1994. Being broke is a sin to him. So back the fuck up off him with that bullshit. You goddamn album bitch!
The only thing Tweedy Bird Loc is giving to a bitch is a hard dick and some bubblegum. You might has a bomb ass cunt but you can't get me pussy whipped. Tweedy ain't with getting sprung as he knows the best bitch is the next one. That's why he treats women like trash.
I Got My Strap is a hip hop jazz track where the song follows a smooth timid mid tempo jazz beat and has a mischievous vibe. You know that vibe you get when you know specifically shit is about to go down or spark at any given moment. I Got My Strap is a direct diss aimed towards Eazy-E.
One of the interesting things about Got My Strap is the censorship specifically at the 2 minute duration mark. The lyrics go, “Riding four fucking five in my lap/Just cause a nigga got a strap don’t mean I won’t peal his cap/Mother fucking X with the tech finna serve you/You might slide a bit”
As you can tell by reading the lyrics and listening to the lyrics, Nini X was the rapper who was censored out of Tweedy’s verse. This is because Nini X had a disagreement with Tweedy Bird Loc and Ronnie Ron during that time over financial issues. Tweedy Bird Loc took things as far as to call her a hoe in the liner notes to No Holds Barred. Nini X ended up leaving Dangerous Records in bad terms with Tweedy Bird Loc and Ronnie Ron. That is why Nini X left Dangerous Records and stopped working with Tweedy Bird Loc in the middle of 1994. All due to a misunderstanding.
The lame track Street Jokes is one of those tracks which get annoying quickly and gets old after a while. No hard feelings. The “Your mama” jokes are make this track get annoying quickly.
Girls I've Done Fucc Before is a comedic nonsensical skit which coincidentally falls into place since gangsta rap is some low hanging fruit. Given the fact raw raunchy sexual humor is used. The skit revolves around sexual humor. Some of the jokes don’t even make sense.
C Thru The Bullshit is one of the worst tracks off the album. Vocals from background vocalist Tammi Holt are all over the place and off key. Her singing is totally off balance. One can easily see why this is the worst track off the entire album.

Tweedy Bird Loc - Bird’s Eye View album review
Tweedy Bird Loc - Bird’s Eye View was what was going to be Tweedy Bird Loc’s best album. Bird’s Eye View was produced by DJ Battlecat, Captain Geek, and DJ Noise. Tweedy Bird Loc brought in a cast of real niggas from Los Angeles. Tweedy Bird Loc dissed the fuck out all those new school rappers who wear skinny jeans and rehearse gay lyrics. This is real school style with no wack ass beats. No gay ass lyrics here! So haters be ware!
The album included what was going to be the smash hit song Give The People What They Want and My Dick Is Prejudice Part 3. Give The People What They Want brings out that old school West Coast sound Tweedy Bird Loc is known for. My Dick Is Prejudice Part 3 revisits My Dicc Is Still Prejudiced. Gangsta rap is how the West was won! He brought the West Coast back with all them niggas on Bird’s Eye View.

Kut-N-Kru – D.J. On Fire album review
Kut-N-Kru – D.J. On Fire is the dope debut album from Denver hip hop group Kut-N-Kru. You have the Kut-N-Kru sound which Kut-N-Kru is regionally known for. Old school hip hop soundscapes, collected vocal samples, synths, and turntableism. All scratches were performed by Gary "Scratch G" Martinez. 2/3rds of this album is gangsta rap with cuts such as Straight Killin' Fools, DK All Day, and Kop Killer. You also have your hip hop oriented cuts such as Dj On Fire and Dog City Style.
Kut-N-Kru are killing fools and taking fools out with their deadly lyrics on Straight Killin' Fools. Spyde Loco prospers on this track. Dj On Fire is an insane hip hop cut with wicked turntableism performed by Gary "Scratch G" Martinez. The cut showcases the best out of DJ Gary "Scratch G" Martinez. That scratching is on point! You have the Kut-N-Kru sound used throughout this cut. This song came from their 1990 debut album of the same name.

Kut-N-Kru – Bedroom Boom album review
Kut-N-Kru – Bedroom Boom is a mixture of old school hip hop and gangsta rap. This makes sense given the album was released in 1994. You have the Kut-N-Kru sound which Kut-N-Kru is regionally known for. Old school hip hop soundscapes, collected vocal samples, synths, and turntableism. All scratches were performed by Gary "Scratch G" Martinez. This is some rare Kut-N-Kru shit which is extremely difficult to find or even obtain a copy of. Bedroom Boom and D.J. On Fire are the hardest to find since a limited amount of copies were ever pressed.
The cut called Fucked Up uses some turntableism performed by Gary "Scratch G" Martinez over gangsta rap lyrics. The song is a banger amongst Kut-N-Kru fans.
Tequila And Marijuana is similar to I Dont Give A Fuck doe having such a laid back and carefree vibe. Spyde Loco goes crazy on the track.
Taking Foos Out is an example of a hardcore gangsta rap track that is on this album. Kut-N-Kru are taking fools out with their deadly lyrics. Spyde Loco prospers on this track. Taking Foos Out is a reprise of Straight Killin Fools which came from their 1990 debut album.

Kut-N-Kru – Nightbreed album review
Kut-N-Kru – Nightbreed is one of the darker Kut-N-Kru albums with a chill vibe. Sera-Lynn - s/t album review
Sera-Lynn’s debut self-titled album was reminiscent of and similar to Teena Marie. She has that pop flair sound as she sings in tune. Songs that were on her album included Real Love, Rain, Be There, and I Don’t Need A Man. I Don’t Need A Man and Real Love were the buzz singles for this album.
Now Sera-Lynn’s debut self-titled album was an album only hardcore No Limit fans may remember. Sera-Lynn’s debut self-titled album was advertised in with a plethora of albums listed in the Coming Soon section of Master P’s Gameface album back in 2001. However her album did not get released due to lack of charting singles and was ultimately shelved as Master P felt she was not marketable as a singer.
Master P was trying to market Sera-Lynn as "the next Britney Spears" even though he was trying to market Sera-Lynn as the Teena Marie of No Limit Records. Sera-Lynn was mentioned in various articles printed in Billboard Magazine from 2001 to 2003. However nobody was checking out for Sera-Lynn due to a lack of interest among other issues. And the fact that Master P was trying to market Sera-Lynn as "the next Britney Spears" and he was trying to market Sera-Lynn as the Teena Marie of No Limit Records at the same time which did not necessarily work.
Real Love was a song that appeared on Master P’s 2001 album Gameface. Real Love was a Teena Marie inspired cut which sampled Teena Marie - Square Biz. The song had that pop flair and crossover appeal. However the song did not catch on with pop fans, No Limit fans, and the target audience as Real Love charted at just #95 of 100 on the Billboard Top 100 charts. The song fell down to #100 the Billboard Top 100 charts shortly afterwards.
For those who remember, Master P brought Sera-Lynn in as a newcomer for his record label back in 2001. She appeared on the Teena Marie inspired cut Real Love with Master P which appeared on Master P’s 2001 album Gameface. Sera-Lynn was a blond, blue-eyed singer and dancer and who performed in the music video for Real Love.
I Don't Need A Man was the buzz song for her debut album which featured Lil Romeo. The song was produced by Suga Bear and XL. I Don't Need A Man did not chart on the Billboards. This led her album to be shelved.

George Llanes – 360° Of Consciousness EP
George Llanes – 360° Of Consciousness is one of the most intense techno EPs from DJ and producer George Llanes. What is different is about this George Llanes release is that George decided to experiment with music by using techno instead of relying primarily on house music as the norm.
Mental Jargon is one of the most intense songs off the EP. This is due to the electronic soundscape that is used overlaying the occasional vocal sample. The warped synths pan from left speaker to right speaker to left speaking repeating that pattern in a clockwise pattern. A blues harmonica is added at 3 minutes into the song. The synths beak begins at 3:16.
Dream State is one of the intense songs off the EP which relies on samples from the Wizard of Oz movie and heavy bass. A techno-based soundscape is used throughout the entirety of the song. This song is one of those futuristic outer space type of songs.
