Gangsta Ern - You Up On It single review

The You Up On It cassette was an underground single that was passed around in neighborhoods across San Diego, California in 1992 but never reached past the city limits. The single is all battle style raps with a versatile no holds barred, in your face attitude type of vibe. Black Mikey wrote a lot of material for the single. This was a Gangsta Ern single.

You Up On It is a battle rap performed by Black Mikey and Gangsta Ern which was recorded in 1992. Black Mikey’s verse went the hardest. San Diego is known for the real shit. Black Mikey and Gangsta Ern diss East Dago Mob (East Dago Music) throughout the song. The people they were dissing were Dr. Devious (Dr. Dev), Ill Black (Ill Blacc) aka IBM, D-Swift, Miss Capone, and LARock. Not to mention Dagos Krush Militia.

Black Mikey openly disses Dr. Devious (Dr. Dev) and East Dago Mob (East Dago Music) at the very beginning of the song. He said, “I don’t know why them mothafuckin East Dago Music muthafuckaz wanna disrespect and drop that punk ass nigga Devious and say he can fade Black Mikey.” Black Mikey and Dr. Devious were beefing with each other who was the better rapper and who could fade each other with their lyrics back in 1992.

Gangsta Ern disses East Dago Music (East Dago Mob) in his verse. He said, “Yeah, this motherfuckin Gangsta Ern with the Break Mine Off click thick than a motherfucka. Fuck that East Dago shit. You up on it, fool?” Gangsta Ern was the real deal. Ern was a beast on the mic.

The Battle (OG version) was later used as a skit on his 1992 maxi-single Up Against It. You can hear Black Mikey in the background asking Gangsta Ern to spit a verse in his battle rap. This is right around the beginning. Duration of the The Battle (OG version) is 1:20. Gangsta Ern calls himself a swole ass nigga wit a fly ass perm. Wow that is a bold ass statement.

The very end of the song is laced with esoteric violence. You can hear double gun shots go off as Frank Z programmed the reverb of those foley effects.

BGOTI - Bad Girlz Of The Industry album

The BGOTI - Bad Girlz Of The Industry album from 1996 is a mixture of contemporary soul and New Jack Swing. However this is much slower than your normal typical R&B/soul album as there so many slow jams on the album. BGOTI portrayed this "round the way girl" "gangsta chick" throughout their Death Row album.

BGOTI was Death Row's attempt to reach the female market in the music industry but Death Row had an R&B/soul roster they didn't know what to do with. This is underground R&B/soul from the 90s which did not receive the proper promotion truly deserved. Suge Knight dropped the ball on BGOTI by not promoting any of their songs as singles. They could have brought us a full length album by now.

However the blame is not to be placed entirely on Suge. It’s hard to push all the artists signed to your label especially when you have arguably the most sought after artists at the time. Especially when you have so much talent on one label. There was simply not enough time for Death Row Records to promote and market BGOTI. That is how BGOTI got easily lost in the shuffle. That is one of the reasons why this album was never released.

BGOTI stands for Bad Girls Of The Industry which is a female R&B/soul quintet. The members were Oobie, Kozii, Chae, Latonya, and Pinkie. Oobie was the lead Singer of BGOTI. Kozii was the lady with the symmetric length blond bob-cut hairstyle. Chae was the one with the short cut hair. Of course BGOTI was modeled after male R&B quartet Badd Boys of the Industry (BBOTI).

BGOTI was shortly signed to Death Row Records for less than 2 years before splitting. BGOTI also appeared On Gridlock´d soundtrack And Gang Related soundtrack when they were signed to Death Row Records. They also were featured on songs from the Lady of Rage - Necessary Roughness album. They have two album's worth of unreleased music recorded for that label.

Tonight It's On was featured on the Gridlock´d soundtrack. This put BGOTI in the spotlight for a little while. The song is sexy but not ‘sexual’ in nature. Tonight It's On was fairly innocent as not many sexual references were used everywhere.

BGOTI's gonna make it right because it's on tonight. You know it's all in BGOTI They will certainly satisfy that curiosity you have. Whatever you want or need is all in BGOTI because it feels so good to them. They want you to freak them. Just turn down the lights.

There ain't nothing you can do when their love is hooked. There is no doubt that BGOTI has got the one thing you know you can’t resist. The lyrics to Verse 2 imply actions of sexual intercourse. However the lyrics are not explicit or too direct in nature.

There ain't nothing you can do
When my love is hooked you once again
We reminisce about the way we used to
Slidin' in, slippin' out
Hearin' voices when they shout
Got the one thing, no doubt
Show you what it's all about

I Belong To You is a mid tempo love song played at a mid tempo pace. The song uses a 50s doo-wop sound. A piano is used throughout the song. Instruments used in this song are guitars, a piano, and a drum kit. Doo-wop meets contemporary soul and modern R&B on I Belong To You. The song uses the same pace and tempo as I Wanna Be Down by Brandy.

Give Me Your Lov-N is and was their standout signature slow tempo jam of their debut album which will have you constantly replaying the song. This is one of those songs which you will play over and over again as this song brings out pleasure, joy, fantasy, and ecstasy. This lovely sultry slow jam has deep bass chords, eerie synths, and sine waves. Their harmonies are beautiful on Give Me Your Lov-N. Those ladies really gave it their all on their vocals.

Trick On Da Side is about men who sleep with other women on the down low in private. You know. Men who have a side chick. You can easily tell BGOTI has this "round the way girl" "gangsta chick" not only throughout their Death Row album but on this song especially. Similar to Bell Biv & Devoe or New Edition.

I Had To Let Him Go is about letting that unfaithful man go because he couldn’t make things right. He blew his chance to make things right. The love was never meant to last. So you had to let him go. This song was dedicated tot he ladies who had to let their man go.

What Have You Done? was the gold digger anthem which was featured on the 1997 soundtrack Gang Related. Overall the song is generic old school R&B song.

Got To Get My Groove On 95’ uses an uptempo groove back with deep bass chords, eerie synths, and sine waves. Those eerie synths and sine waves much to be desired. You can definitely feel the groove in this BGOTI.

Lady Wray – Smiling / Make Me Over single review

The Lady Wray – Smiling / Make Me Over was one of the most positive soul singles of 2016. The single serves as a as a reminder to keep our heads up and to keep a smile on our faces in order to deal with whatever life has planned for us. Bubblegum pop meets gritty classic soul.

Smiling is an instant feel good anthem serving as a reminder to keep our heads up and to keep a smile on our faces in order to deal with whatever life has planned for us described by Big Crown Records and Nicole Wray. We all need to let go and move on in life. Leon Michels & Thomas Brenneck contribute in terms of production. Bubblegum pop meets gritty classic soul.

Make Me Over is a down and out tune. A lusty tale. Nicole finds herself asking for a little help so she can get a break from being strapped for cash promising to take care of her man as soon as her check comes in. She lets her guard down during the duration of the song. Her expensive taste leads to empty pockets. Make Me Over is a gritty soul song.

Tommy Wright III ‎– Genesis (Greatest Underground Hits) album review

Tommy Wright III ‎– Genesis (Greatest Underground Hits) is a testament to underground rap. Underground rap is so much better than mainstream rap. Everything from gangsta rap to horrorcore is included on this album. The sounds of Memphis rap are dark and raw. This album is no exception. Now this album is his most gangsta rap oriented rap album to date with songs such as Runnin and Gunnin, On Da Creep, Homicidal Ride, and One Man Gang. Memphis rap fans will surely dig this album. Runnin and Gunnin is his most gangsta album to date.

Runnin-N-Gunnin is an action packed gangsta rap song which gives us details Tommy Wright III’s run in’s with the law and the escapades that follow. The bold and daring Runnin and Gunnin does not fail to disappoint. Runnin-N-Gunnin serves as his story of how he committed a 1st degree murder. One can expect the song to get violent and gruesome.

Tommy Wright III started out with six bullets but ended up with zip. So he fucked around and bounced. He gave his Glock 17 to his road dog (roadie) fully loaded. Creepin' never sleepin', duckin' and divin' as Tommy does his thang.

Tommy tells us exactly how his gang got raided at the shack they were at in these lyrics. “Left my gang at the shack, some of my niggas was left on the track/Boomin' dope, never soap, but them folks set up a raid/All them dealers dropped they dope and got my cousin caught that day”

He left his gang at the shack. Police had the shack set up to be raided so they could catch criminals. His cousin got caught in the raid that day. He got charged for 40 rocks. Police discovered his cousin had a gun and took him into custody. Now he’s serving time in the penitentiary. Down in 201 is a reference to doing time in penitentiary or the county jail.

So Tommy has his Glock with six shells. Finna break his cousin out of jail. Drivin' down the highway, mane. You know someone is from Memphis when they say mane. He got off at the Union exit. Tommy is now scoping out for police cars. He ain't scared 'cause he’s hard.

So Tommy walked up to the door and broke out running past the checkout cop. The metal detector went off because he shot froths chrome glock. His cousin is located on the fourth floor. Tommy finds his cousin and escapes jail. The jailbirds escaped with them. Police put out an APB. Now they run deep through downtown. They get into the hooptie, but for some reason the car is not working. All they need is to find a car that works.

They went into a bank. Tommy shot the security guard while his jailbirds stuck up all the bank tellers. All the jailbirds jumped in the back with the money sacks. Now he is down to four bullets but had to use the fourth one. He saw blue lights in the rear view mirror ahead. So he punched the gas and drove off. Memphis Police Department blocked off the street. So everybody ran on foot through the woods. Duckin' and dodgin' from them folks.

Shoot To Kill is a grotesque murderous track filled with violence. The song is about killing people as evidenced from the title.

Tommy Wright III is the last of MC´s because the others all left. He is never looses a battle because he fights until the last breath. He creeps with a gun. So don’t talk crap. He’ll shoot a motherfucker in less than a minute. He never runs when it’s time to spray. His rhyming scheme is quite clever and street savvy. Read these lyrics, “As I blast like a rocket/Keeping clips in my back pocket”

So put on your black mask and gloves before you ride. ’Cause it’s gonna be hell if you can be identified. Dead bodies are hauled off to were suckers get broke and can’t cope.

Tommy is like a warrior who fights like a barbarian with strength like the incredible Hulk. An uzi and a tech 9 are what he is carrying. Those are the firearms in his possession. He is launching MC´s like a catapult with strength like the incredible Hulk. Leaving niggas dead without a box. He cut off their heads, freezes them, and hangs them up on the wall to show that he wants to brawl and nail them so they won’t fall. He is just like a hitman. Tommy for hire.

He hate to see blood but I love to see bloodshed. He’s violent as hell when it comes to this type of shit. Quite questionable if you ask me. Tommy is a gangster, pimp and player. Just beware. Because he doesn’t care about your welfare or well-being. You niggas know the deal. Tommy Wright the 3rd Shoots To Kill.

H is for homicide and A is attack. So get the fuck back. Run in the house and look out the crack of the window. When he is shooting he wants somebody to die. Wasting bullets is when/while everyone is still alive something he hates doing. Tommy was brought up to beat tricks up making them wish they was locked up. That’s what they get for tryna buck with a nigga from Memphis.

The only job he has is keeping the cemetery full. His clothes are red from the blood of all his victims he killed. Compared to his speed, your punch is slow as his last. Don’t ever try to battle him because he fights dirty. Tommy keeps robbing niggas because he’s broke. There are so many holes in a nigga you think he had polka dots. If you really want mercy get on your knees and kneel to pray. No use in begging because Tommy gets loose without sympathy. Sending tricks to the med with a broke leg or two.

If he ain’t got my pistol, he’ll bust your head with a bottle of brew. One of his niggas will bust your face up with axes. It is guarantied you will need an autopsy after the massacre, mayhem, and murder when he is through. Going round for round in combat mode. There is no escape when he begins slay and spray. He is on that other level. He is gunning in the mist of this combat. Comin´ from the streets of hell. Teaching a lesson with a blessing from this Smith and Wesson. Leaving the scene of the crime like he ain’t did shit.

He is direct with his lyricism. “And when I shoots to kill you know I’m shooting directly at anyone/
I’m chewing motherfuckers like annihilators/And when I fight I’m throwing nothing but haymakers”

Lil Mo - iLoveMe album review

Lil Mo’s iLoveMe album came out on CD from on her independent label HoneyChild Entertainment back in 2011. This album's production is a lot better and louder volume-wise than the Pain & Paper album was. Lil Mo is back to her 4 star self on this album! Songs like Take Me Away, Love Song, Movie, Higher, and iLoveMe with songstress/soul vocalist Tweet are highlight tracks. Every song on here is a banger!

iLoveMe features songstress and soul vocalist Tweet. Tweet lays down the smooth slow melody with her smooth soulful voice. iLoveMe is a Lil Mo and Tweet duet. The song iLoveMe raises awareness in self-love. The song iLoveMe is about self-love. Loving yourself for who you are. Lil Mo and Tweet take it to church on this one! iLoveMe is a love song of course.

The uprising of dawn begins with a piano solo at the beginning of iLoveMe. Beautiful job on the viola chorus in the background. The violins help accompany the viola. Lil Mo incorporates elements of rock laced into soul music on iLoveMe.

Lil Mo doesn’t know what self-love feels like. Lil Mo doesn’t where to begin. So she’ll start right here. Just when Lil Mo was about to give up, he pulled up to her heart. The man wants a bond with her. Something about him seemed so different to Lil Mo. Something that she never felt. It feels like she lost herself trying to find him. It feels like she’s living a lie just for him. So now it’s time to tell the truth. iLoveMe more than iLoveYou. Lil Mo finds out that she loves herself more than she loves you.

Tweet is next up. Tweet lays down the smooth slow melody with her smooth soulful voice.

She tired of walking the thin line and hitting walls of regret & sorrow. It’s better that they call it quits. Just when Tweet was about to give up, he pulled up to her heart. Sharing love with him is so innocent and heaven sent. (It feels like she forced herself trying to love him.) It feels like she’s living a lie just for him. So now it’s time to tell the truth. iLoveMe more than iLoveYou.

I'm tired of walking a thin line
And hitting walls of regret
It's better that we call it quits
Think we need to stop right there
Just when I thought about giving up
When I was about to run on E
That's when you pulled up to my heart
And said you wanna come and ride with me
And sharing love with you seemed so innocent
Even heaven sent, everything I ever dreamed
It feels like I lost myself tryna love you
It's like I'm stretching the lie for truth
It's time to turn tables

Because you have changed. Lil Mo no longer gives to you pain. Love remains here with Lil Mo. (Love remains here with me.) She made it through the pain and she finally sees clearly. So clearly. Lil Mo finds out that she loves herself more than she loves you.

Because you've changed, I no longer give to you
Love remains here with me, here with me, here with me
And I made it through the pain and now I
Finally see, so clearly, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Whoa, I love me so much more than I love you
More than I love you, As much as I wanted you, needed to love me more
I love me more than I love you
More than you, more than I love you
I know it may sound crazy, more than I love you
Cause you're a good man, just not good for me
It' my apology, I gotta return immediately
Don't worry about the house, you can have it
Don't worry about the cars, you can drive them
I'll got get another one, because I got it

Lil Mo talks about the kind of love people want on the song This Love.

There ain’t nothing better than this right here. Lil Mo tries but she can’t get through the way she feels. She is stuck right here with her chest torn open. Her heart has been stolen. And she ain’t ever been the type to fall in love. This the kind of love make you want it all. But he is like a habit that she can't give up. It feels like she gets a fix whenever they touch. This the kind of love people dream of and the kind of love people want. This type of love will take you to the top and will catch you if you fall. They all want something like this love.

He is her secret she tries to hide but her heart won’t let her. This love is sickening but she is so addicted. He is the only one who can give it to her just how she needs it. Nothing is missing because he completed her. Lil Mo is falling for him and can’t get up. There ain’t no denying it. This is the kind of love that people dream of.

Lyrics to the song explain how.

There ain't nothing better than this right here
I tried, but I can't control the way I feel
Now I'm stuck right here, with my chest torn open
My heart's been stolen

And I ain't never been the type to fall in love
But you're like a habit that I can't give up
Feels like I get a fix whenever we touch
This drug is sickening, but I'm so addicted

And it ain't no denying
This the kind of love make you want it all
Take you to the top, and catch you if you fall
We got that kind of love people dream of

And they all want something like this love
This love, this love, and they all want something like this love
This love, this love, and they all want something like
And they all want something like

On The Floor is an ode to ladies in the club and to the dancers outside. Dancers will love dancing to the track as the bpm is perfect for such dancing to. On The Floor is a song that makes you want to move and groove. The go-go dance sound from Baltimore is perfect for this track.

On The Floor has that Baltimore go-go dance sound to it with usage of the new school soul. On The Floor is dedicated to ladies up in the club. The beats are quite hyphy. One can wonder if Lil Mo or the producer was influenced by the Bay Area hyphy sound when it came to music production.

Lil Mo’s lyrics and ad-libbing is super superb. Fatman Scoop does his usual annoying chanting in the background which ruins the whole song of course. But that’s what he does best and what he is internationally know for. Take Missy Elliott - Loose Control (feat. Batman Scoop and Ciara) for instance.

Perfect Man is about how Lil Mo is looking for the perfect man to be her wife. Lil Mo is looking for “the one” exactly for her. She is addicted to a man’s love. Lil Mo is looking for someone to love and hold on to. She’s looking for someone she can trust. But she has not someone for herself truly for her. She wonders if she’ll ever be complete. The perfect man for Lil Mo is someone who protects you from nightmares and the one that to call went in trouble. The type of man who holds you in your sleep and tells you that you're pretty.

The lyrics explain how he took her to a higher level of love.

I'm so lucky to be a part, of this someone
His love it takes me higher, than a bird it could ever fly up
I am so caught up, I would never leave him around someone
Who can see the things I see in him

Love Song has that nostalgic childhood memories/playful mood feeling to it. It feels as if you are taking a walk down memory lane when listening to Love Song. The beats are on point and the production is extremely loud as the volume for some reason has been turned up very high. Love Song is, well, obviously a love song of course.

4/5****!!

Lil Mo - Pain & Paper album review

For those who don't know, Lil Mo’s Pain & Paper was released in 2007 on her independent label HoneyChild Entertainment which was distributed by Koch Records (now E1). At the time she was dropped from Cash Money Records and Universal due to Hurricane Katrina. This album was supposed to mark her comeback. Instead it went under the radar sold under 110,000 copies which led to the album Pain & Paper to sell 101,000 copies total. The album featured guest stars such as Katt Williams, Fabulous, Danny Roc, Jim Jones, and Da Brat.

Sadly this album did not meet the success of her gold selling albums Based On a True Story and Meet The Girl Next Door. But the production sounds and songwriting is what led this album to be overlooked by the music industry and professional music critics. The reasons being the production was WAY out of control & extremely unbalanced, her songwriting skills weren't very good as her previous efforts, and focused too much on the negative side instead of balancing on a 50%/50% on the positive & negative scale. Lil Mo wasn't able to have any notably famous, well-known studios master any of her tracks to make sure the production would not be extremely unbalanced. Lil Mo should stick to being a lyricist instead of being a producer.

The album Pain & Paper did not get much advertisement funding due to the fact that Lil Mo released the album on her own record label. So her funds have been limited. It's not the same as last time where she had a big business back her up in the promotional marketing department for advertisements for Pain & Paper as the situation was for her 2001 debut album Based On A True Story. Basically Lil Mo did not have the major record label corporation funding to back Lil Mo on her Pain & Paper album. Despite this, the album is good!

But that doesn't mean the album wasn't enjoyable. Yes some songs are considered cheesy by Lil Mo fans. Such as How Can I Tell, Youngin, and Baby Please just don't cut it straight for me. There are enjoyable songs for you to listen when you're in your ride down the road. She does have a strong and beautiful voice.

Lil Mo never fails to amaze me at all! So Lil Mo will never fail to maze you at all! She does have a strong and beautiful voice. Some of the songs on here are heartbreaking love ballads. Lil Mo evokes emotional effort on this album. Her lyrics are so magnificent. A lot of Lil Mo songs often deal with the ups and downs and pains of relationships written in lyrics from a woman's perspective.

Just Like That is about leaving a man who isn't faithful to his woman "just like that". Ladies! If your man is treating you badly, Lil Mo encourages you to part ways in your relationship with him right away. Just like that! It's so simple! If you listen very closely, punctually at the very end are Lil Mo's vocals are extremely powerful at the end of this heartbreaking love song.

Ladies, you've been here many times before. Thinking should you stay or should you walk right out that door. But you’re afraid to leave. How many times does it really take for him to treat you bad and take his love away? Now you're telling me he wants to leave. What is there to about? Girl let him leave.

What is there to think Do you know what this means? You can get your life back and your joy back. You can turn your life around because he wasn't good for you. Just let him go and move on. Let him leave. Because you deserve better girl.

What should you do when he calls your phone? Let the machine say that you're not at home. And what about those nights when you’re all alone? Girl, it won't be the first time. You can make it. You gave him everything you had. You were there when no one else was there for him. Now he's telling you he wants to leave. What should you do? Here’s what you do. Let him leave.

It's time to let your hair down. Have you some fun. No more giving all of yourself to just anyone. All he did was take you for granted and bring you down. You deserve better and deserve more because you're all of that. So hold your head up. It's your time to win. Just like that.

You don’t have to worry about him coming home late. You don’t have to make his stupid plate of food for him. You ain't gotta smell those stinky feet all up on you. Just like that. What is there to think about? Do you know what this means? You can get your life back. You can get your joy back. You can turn your life around because he wasn't good for you. Just like that. You got your credit back. You got your car and your house back. Kids. Everything. You’ve even got back your self esteem. Now don't look back.

The overall message of the song Heartbeat is to cherish the loved ones that we love while they're still here because we never know when they will be unexpectedly taken away from you and that's just real talk! Anything could happen at any given time! They could be taken away from you simply just like that. This song tragic is about pain and loss. The beeping sound of a heart monitor is well-woven into the beat(s) of this particular song right here. This is one of those songs that will bring you to tears.

Now this is not necessarily based on a true story but I'm pretty sure that somebody has been through this at one point in their life. You just gotta learn how to apologize. Learn how to say, “I’m sorry” and never go to bed mad. Never leave the house mad because you never know if that person gone be taken away from you. And that's just real. Lil Mo wants you to listen to this little story. She calls this story her "Heartbeat". Oh, how precious a heartbeat is.

She should've told him about the feelings she had before he walked out of her life. She  used to blow up the reckless words with her hands in his face calling him this and that. The reason she had talked so recklessly is because she thought that she was paying him back. Getting her revenge on him. Then her phone rang. Lil Mo thought it was him but it was his friend. His friend said it got crazy at the club and something went wrong. She knew by his tone that he was gone. Mean things ran through her head because she thought it was her fault.

Now Lil Mo wishes she could kiss him and tell him she loves him. She would given anything to tell him that she is sorry and regretful about the things she said to him. She wanted to apologize for taking to him so recklessly. It'd make her so complete if she can hear his heartbeat. It'd put her mind at ease if she can hear his heartbeat. She’d give anything to hear his breathe again. She wishes she could see him again.

Why did Lil Mo keep so many things about them bottled inside? Why did Lil Mo not tell him that she found out that she was having his child? But now it's too late because he is dead. Why did him have to go to the club? Why couldn't he stay home? Why couldn't they just go in the room and make love? Why did Lil Mo leave the message that she think it caused him his life? Now Lil Mo wishes she could kiss him and tell him she loves him. It'd make her so complete if she could hear his heartbeat.

Lil Mo started to question God about why the man she loved was taken away from her. Lil Mo went to her pastor. But her pastor said that this isn't a mistake. Her pastor knows God cannot make no mistakes.

No Hotel is a song that women that are dating in the relationship game can relate to. Do not allow a man to come into your home and leave when he wants or just whenever he pleases to! It's sickening when women allow men to take advantage of them while in a relationship.

No Hotel is about a man who is staying in and out of Lil Mo’s house. He must think this is the Holiday Inn. He must think that you can always get in. But does not pay any rent there. He thinks just because he lay his hat there gives him right to be a rolling stone but he was told wrong.

Because it's not like he lives here. He just stays from time to time. And even though he can get in, Lil Mo is not letting that happen tonight. His key ain't gonna work tonight because he is about to get evicted. Lil Mo is hanging up her 'no vacancy' sign because he missed check in. This house ain't no hotel tonight. Yes, this is over. It's over. No do-overs. No more mistakes.

Sumtimes I is a song about 2 worlds with 2 girls which turns into a love triangle. You know. 2 worlds with 2 girls, it turns into a love triangle. Lil Mo is in love with another man who is already in a committed relationship with another woman. This is turn creates a love triangle between the three. Sometimes Lil Mo lays in her bed and thinks about what would it be like if he was in her life by her side. Sometimes she wishes he was her man.

So as he zooms on. Blowing smoke to get the scent of perfume off his clothing. He tries to make it home at a decent time so he doesn't look suspicious. He checks his cell phone, erases all the pictures, delete texts, and delete emails. He crept through the house like he was on eggshells. He was almost in bed until she beeped his Nextel phone.

He makes Lil Mo happy. And she doesn't wanna go home to her residence. Spending all those nights alone. You know she’d rather to get with him than leave him alone. Because he knows just what to say to Lil Mo. It seems like he understands her. He knows her just like a book. Just like the back of his hand.

Sometimes Lil Mo lays in her bed and thinks about what would it be like if he was in her life by her side. Sometimes she wishes he was her man.

Because he’d be checking up on her. He would make sure that she is ok. He says that if she needs anything he’s a phone call away. Because Lil Mo’s own man don't take the time. He don't understand. He treats her like she wants to be treated but he is not her man.

Sometimes she wishes he was her man. So she would be more secure. He knows her just like a book. Just like the back of his hand.

It’s heartbreak hotel on Broken Heart as a man has broken Lil Mo’s heart. Can you fix this? The song uses a futuristic electronic techno soundscapes with the keyboards.

There's been an accident. Please call 911. Lil Mo needs an ambulance. She says she was injured during a hit and run. She can't think right or see straight. She has been experiencing a loss of appetite. Another thing she has been experiencing is having chest pain. Lil Mo may need some therapy because of all the pain. Some type of remedy she’ll take three times a day. She need some surgery. Or some type of intervention. Are you a love doctor? Are you a heart physician? Can you fix this broken heart of hers? Can you take all the pieces and make it stop bleeding so she can sleep at night? Can you take what is left of it? Give her some medicine and make everything all right.

She tells us, “It's been a hit and run. I can't think right. I can't see straight. Ain't got no appetite. Been having chest pain. May need some therapy because of all the pain. Some type of remedy I'll take three times a day. May need some surgery. Some type of intervention. Are you a love doctor? Are you a heart physician? Can you fix this broken heart of mine? Can you take all the pieces, make it stop bleeding? So I can sleep at night? Can you take what is left of it? Give me some medicine. Make everything all right.”

Can you prescribe a song? Recommend a DVD? Should she get a box of chocolates or vanilla ice cream? Take away her symptoms of crying and her sleepless nights. Though sometimes she feel like dying. Especially inside. Please don't think Lil Mo is crazy or that she is tripping. You are her last resort. That's why she paid you a visit. Can she get some attention?

Her heart says that you keep failing her. And her heart says she can't let love keep getting the best of her. And Lil Mo is desperate for medicine. She can't let you get the best of her. So can you fix this broken heart of her? Can you take all the pieces and make it stop bleeding so she can sleep at night? Can you take what is left of it? Give her some medicine and make everything all right. Is there anybody out there who knows what Lil Mo going through?

Lucky Her is a sad heartbreaking love song about another woman getting all the credit after everything Lil Mo and her man had been through. But sometimes it’s like that. If a man can get with another woman like Lil Mo never existed, than it’s better her than Lil Mo. Just don’t try to come back when the relationship doesn’t work out.

When he was Lil Mo’s man, he didn't understand. He didn't have a clue. It was all brand new to him that Lil Mo needed love too. He put his boys before Lil Mo and constantly ignored her. He didn't do nothing for her. Now it's another story.

He said he settled down and was doing the family thing. He says that he’s all grown up and doesn't do childish things. He doesn't hang out anymore or stay out anymore. He says that he’s a better man. Lucky her.

Lil Mo thought she would walk down the aisle. Lil Mo thought she would have his child. She also thought she would be the one that always made him smile. But then another woman came out of nowhere and took Lil Mo’s place after she made him half of the man he is today. She'll get all the credit.

Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) is a great song and a great way to end the album. Lil Mo takes us to church on Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) with the gospel-ish St. Lil Mo Mass Choir singing in the background. The overall message of the song Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) is “I’m not perfect. So please don't judge me.” Lil Mo may not be perfect but she know how to sing her ass off! Her runs are everything.

Perfect. I know that you're perfect. It seems that you just can't do nothing wrong. I guess that's how you were raised all along. Excuse me, Lil Mo is human. You have no idea just what she goes through. And she sure needs you. And that's when he holds her. He wraps her in his loving arms. Keeping her safe from all harm.

And Lil Mo may not dot every "i" or even cross every "t". And I guess that you have a right. But the Master's still working on her.

Sometimes Lil Mo gets so tired. Sometimes she is just sick of herself. But what keeps her inspired is the fact that she know that he's there. Though she may change, he ain't going nowhere. And she know that he cares. So why should she worry what other people have to say about her? So why should she worry what other people have to say about her when he gave her liberty?

When you look at Lil Mo, things ain't what it seems. God's got a hold on Lil Mo. Lil Mo has been down on luck. There and back again. Grace and mercy.

Lil Mo did a spectacular job covering and duplicating Shirley Murdock - Husband. Lil Mo went all in on this cover. Shirley Murdock is hard to duplicate. She is a tough act tough to follow. No one ever heard comes close to duplicating Shirley Murdock but Lil Mo did a spectacular job.

DJ Smash - Jazzy Grooves : New Fruit album review

DJ Smash - Jazzy Grooves : New Fruit is a collection of new tracks DJ Smash been working on since January 2020. The new decade has inspired him to release more music. Believe me, there's a lot more to come. Enjoy and eat more fruit. This new EP has that bossanova jazz sound and acid jazz sound which he is renown for. There are many wonderful jazz instrumentals on this EP.

Pleasures is another uptempo jazz song with a super jazzy piano and rhythmic percussion selection. The upright bass blends in perfectly with the percussion selection. DJ Smash proves to be a virtuoso on the piano.

Nod is an uptempo piano laced jazz song with a mournful sound and jazzy vibe. The beats blend in perfectly with that upright bass. The song uses that laid back lounge jazz which is specifically where that smooth sound comes from. Bossanova jazz meets acid jazz on Nod. The song pays ode and tribute to jazz music.

Acai has a Latin guitar rhythm used behind some bass lines you would hear in lounge jazz music. Latin meets jazz on Acai. The song is quite calming and relaxing.

5/5*****!!
