MC Hammer - Too Tight album review

MC Hammer - Too Tight was one of the more unique Death Row albums. Hearing MC Hammer rap over songs that had G-Funk grooves and whining synthesizers was certainly unique and very interesting. This album is more versatile than his other albums. 2Pac helped ghostwrite songs such as Too Tight and Unconditional Love. Who would have thought a Christian rapper would have signed to Death Row Records?

MC Hammer - Too Tight was one of the many Death Row albums promoted in magazines and albums. MC Hammer - Too Tight was one of the many Death Row albums which fans anticipated on being released. The album was scheduled to be released in 1996. But that never happened due to 2Pac’s death and industry politics. So the album was shelved as a consequence. However he did release some versions of the songs recorded for Too Tight on his did release versions of some tracks on his next album.

MC Hammer was inspired by the sounds of the album Ohio Players - Skin Tight when recording Too Tight. That is why Too Tight samples Ohio Player - Skin Tight. 2 Pac had gotten up early that morning and went to the studio. He called in the background singers, laid down the background, and wrote a rap he wanted MC Hammer to rap. That’s how it was done.

Too Tight was written as a reference track by 2Pac for MC Hammer’s ‘Too Tight’ album. MC Hammer spits braggadocios rhymes over a mellow G-Funk groove with whining synthesizers and melodic keyboards on Too Tight. This track'll have you going way back like bad habit. This beat is pumping got you swerving in your ride when you play it bumpin’.

These lyrics are an example of braggadocios rhymes over a mellow G-Funk groove with whining synthesizers and melodic keyboards, “I caught some playa-hatin' punks talkin' about my style/I’m gettin' money doing this for a while/But immature square using bad grammar/I hit the city and they screamin’ ‘You da man Hammer!’/Holla if you understand me,”.

2Pac wrote this for MC Hammer as part of his obligations to Suge Knight for posting the $1.4 million dollar bail and using his pull to get him out on appeal 8 months into his 4 year sentence.

MC Hammer caught some player hating punks talking about his style. He’s getting money as he’s been doing this for a while. Those player hating punks are a bunch of immature squares using bad grammar. I heard you talking loud and clear. You ain't saying nothing. Holla if you understand me. Poppa got a new bag and it’s too bad.

MC Hammer wasn't popping. So he changed the plan. MC Hammer came back with a monster jam. Now everybody’s talking about they down to ride now that Hammer's bustin' too tight. Throw up your hands if you feel me.

MC Hammer shakes the whole state of California like an earthquake. He got you jumping out your chair like you're panicking. Quit being stiff. It’s similar to watching mannequins. Throw up your hands up again and swing 'em back side to side.

The fans want to get a fix but the stars got it. So peep game because the fame is a narcotic. MC Hammer never left the game, He just got strange. Indeed he did by switching his persona, musical style, and signing to Death Row Records. That’s why things changed. And you'll be going through the stacks of junk. Packs of pumps and still can't find a track that bumps.

Either hit the floor or hit the door, coward. Since it’s a Death Row party got the cream and the crop. MC Hammer keeps it popping got the whole crowd screaming don't stop until you drop. Music motivates a generation. All color barriers are broken when MC Hammer rocks the nation. From senior citizens to minors in the little league. From thugs to jocks. Not only the women but all the men. And can't nobody rock the show like the Hammer with a club track. As soon it ends it starts again. To groove you from coast to coast. So get close.

Too Late Playa explains how if MC Hammer has his eye on a woman you want to date that you better get to her first before he does and takes her way from you. He’ll take your woman away from you. Danny Boy sang the hooks.

MC Hammer is already known to go after women. If he gets at her it's just too late.

MC Hammer steps on the scene dressed GQ smooth and ready to party. It’s Hammer time. He is peeping out these industries freaks wearing dresses you can see through. After the party they get naughty which is what the lyrics “Afterwards get naughty, let's wear our Versace” imply without getting too explicit.

This lady is with her man but she is still looking good and healthy like Patty Labelle’s cook. This is explained clearly in the lyrics, “You with your man, but you still looking/Looking good, and healthy like Patty Labelle’s cook”

MC Hammer strolls over to this woman by asking her what her name is. He realizes her man is not satisfying. Here is what was said.

MC Hammer: Now that I gotcha baby. What's your name?
Queen: What's up love? My name is Queen.
MC Hammer: Why don't you wait right here honey while I go shake this busta.
Queen: No problem. Handle your business and let's go.

Things take a sudden explicit turn when Queen asks MC Hammer to sign her breasts. Queen asks MC Hammer, “Hammer, would you sign the tits so my man won't think I was lying?”

Big Daddy Kane realizes the game is staying tight. Playa haters are saying, "He ain't right.". Big Daddy Kane sees you tripping since he first started looking at her. And if she peep, then you know she'll creep. And if you sleep, then that will be just one you won't keep. You feel unable to keep her in your stable as she listens to the Crystal popping at the next table. Likes finer things, victory is Big Daddy Kane’s again.

Big Daddy Kane got her open about the game he be using. And now she is choosing. You’re gonna come up as the one losing. The smooth criminal is out-muscling, grand theft hustling. Black Ceasar done struck again.

This fine female is looking delicious and blushes while 2Pac gives her kisses. Making her boyfriend suspicious. 2Pac handles his business in the evening like a real player should. She might be his girl, but see she’ll always be 2Pac’s woman. It ain't no ones fault that she's sprung on 2Pac. Bitches be hitting switches. Calling 2Pac daddy.

That's on the real homie, This is how it is when you play for keeps. If your game ain't straight, your bitch'll lay with 2Pac. And after 2Pac she'll probably fuck the next nigga too.

Nutt-So slides by Kristy's on a Friday night. His truck is sitting way too clean. Yet there are no 18's bumping. Nutt-So is too damn fresh for being an MC. He sucked up game, pursued his role, and slid to a beauty never G'd before.

Now she's relaxing and wants to wanna tell Nutt-So how her man acts. Nutt-So is up in her house her coat. Her man keep on paging Nutt-so. He asks her if she is familiar with those digits. It's very strange that his pager beeps the same thing. She ain't nothing but her man. Now ain't that wicked? It ain't nothing but a damn shame.

So her man must be trying to find clues on them and where they are. But they ain't tripping. They give him a call so he can cook for them and clean up after the dogs. But he can't be up here acting a fool. And when he arrived, the sign on the door read: “Too late, player. Do not disturb us.”

Get Up is a diss aimed at Too $hort. MC Hammer called Too $hort a snitch. This is because Too $hort testified and snitched on MC Poohman over the song Rasita. MC Hammer really went at Too $hort during that last verse.

Dr. Dre - Chronic II album review

Dr. Dre - Chronic II is a G-Funk classic laced with the elements of funk, soul, and pop. Any Dr. Dre fan will want to listen to this album. Keep Their Heads Ringing, Blunt Time, Hookers By The Dozen, All Of The Bullshit We Been Thru, and Smoke Enough Bud are some of the highlights of this album.

Dr. Dre - Chronic II was initially advertised in the UPCOMING DEATH ROW RELEASES section of the 1995 album 2Pac - All Eyez On Me. Dr. Dre - Chronic II was advertised in the first pressing of 2Pac - All Eyez On Me. Now this album went under a series of different names. Dr. Dre - Chronic II was also advertised as Dr. Dre - The Chronic II: A New World Odor (Poppa's Got a Brand New Funk),  Dr. Dre - The Chronic 2: Poppa's Got A Brand New Funk, and Dr. Dre - Poppa's Got a Brand New Funk.

Dr. Dre - Chronic II was one of the many anticipated Death Row Records releases fans were waiting on to be released and anticipating on. Chronic II was supposed to be the sequel to The Chronic album and was supposed be released in 1995. However Dr. Dre - Chronic II was never released due to incompletion, sample clearance issue, fights, and label politics among several other issues. But when Dr. Dre left Death Row Records he left behind a lot of masters for songs recorded for the Chronic II album.

Dr. Dre kept peoples heads ringing with the G-Funk classic Keep Their Heads Ringing. Nanci Fletcher captivated audiences with her vocals. Dr. Dre has rhymes to keep you enchanted. So get up. Get a move on and get your groove on. I know you're bobbin' your head.

Dr. Dre the spectacular goes for your neck. So call him "Blacula" as he drain a nigga's jugular vein and maintain to leave blood stains. So don't complain. Just chill and listen to the beats Dr. Dre spills. The mic gets smoked once you hear the beat kick.

Dr. Dre is that nigga that keeps the hoes' panties wet. Music floats like a flying saucer. With grooves so funky they come with a Speed Stick. So check the flavor that he’s bringin’. The motherfuckin' D-R-E will keep they motherfuckin' heads ringin’.

Mad niggas about to feel the full effect of intellect. This rap shit's his meal ticket and still is to an extent. Dr. Dre brings the terror and pain like Stephen King. He is a black Casanova running niggas over like Christine. He gets plenty of ass. So some call him an ass-tronaut.

Especially when he rocks the spot with the flavor he has. Dr. Dre has rhymes to keep you enchanted. He produces a smokescreen with the funky green to keep your eyes slanted. Keep their heads ringin'!

Dr. Dre is a debonair with flair. He is running shit like the mayor. But he ain't no politician as there is no competition. He is sending all opposition to see a mortician. Up front and never in the backdrop. Step on stage and get faded just like a flat-top. Your rhyme sounds like you bought 'em at Stop 'n Go. Dre came to wax you. So just call him Mop & Glo.

The addictive Smoke Enough Bud is a good ass weed song and is a G-Funk cover of Shirley Jones - Do You Get Enough Love. Smoke Enough Bud with Snoop Dogg and Jewell was recorded around the time Chronic II was being produced and engineered. The song was never released due to sample clearance issues. However the song was finally released as a bonus track on the 2009 album Dr. Dre - The Chronic: Re-Lit & From The Vault.

Here is the plot of Smoke Enough Bud. Snoop Dogg is depressed because of his lack of weed. Jewell serenades his depression and offering him her own supply of weed. Which is why you can hear Jewell serenading about Snoop’s depression.

Snoop’s boy Trizzoy ran out of bud. Of course Snoop needs a hit as he ain't had a hit in about a week. He is trying to put this album together without no weed. Snoop believes he cannot pull off recording an album without the influence of marijuana. Snoop believes he cannot pull this shit off. A nigga straight trippin’, man.

Jewell asks Snoop in a serenading manner, “Do you smoke enough, smoke enough, smoke enough, smoke enough bud? I wanna know. Baby do you smoke enough, smoke enough, smoke enough, smoke enough bud? I gotta know.”

Jewell tells Snoop, “If the answer's no, you better come see me. Cause I'm always smoking chronic. And I got what you need when you need it. Don't get high and leave it. Baby anytime you want some bud. You can come and get it from me.”

Jewell is always smoking chronic. She tells Snoop that he can purchase marijuana from her anytime he needs to. She also tells him not to get high and leave it.

Jewell also tells Snoop, “Well, if you don't something's wrong with you. Now you can't come see me. Cause I'm always stocked on chronic. And blazing so much weed. When you need it. Snoop, how you need it? Baby anytime you want some bud. You can come and get it from me.”

When most people think about smoking bud, it's just a past time hobby. This can be applied to anyone who smokes. But for Snoop, marijuana is compulsory for him to have. And that’s real. Marijuana is something he gots to groove with. He misses marijuana like he used to miss my girl.

I'm gonna have to ask you the questions. Do you smoke enough bud? Do you get enough bud? Because if you don't you need to.

Jewell asks Snoop several questions by asking him, “Can you tell do you smoke enough bud? Snoop, won't you tell me? Are you high yet? Did you get enough bud?”

Da Godfather was a track recorded Chronic II in 1994. This is one of those hard ass lyrical gangsta rap songs which will have you bobbing your head. It take a dollar and take a dollar to be a street scholar. A street scholar that is skeletal cat laced in black. Could that be a line backer, Blitz tight irresistible. Intentions are varying all them process.

6 Feet Deep - 6 Feet Deep (Sixx Feet Deep - Sixx Feet Deep) album review

The 6 Feet Deep - 6 Feet Deep (Sixx Feet Deep - Sixx Feet Deep) demo is one of the overlooked and lesser known Death Row Records demos by R&B/soul quartet 6 Feet Deep. It was a masterpiece. Unfortunately the album was never released as Death Row Records was falling apart and had spiraled into decline. Death Row had a tight R&B/soul roster which we never got a chance to see shine and prosper.

All of the songs were recorded in a timespan ranging from 1994 to 1996. The songs recorded for this demo were songs such as My Heart, Talk To You, For The Love Of You, and You're The One. The demo was issued onto cassette as many demos were in the 90s. Not that many copies of this demo were issued on cassette. There was never any CD version.

Cody Chestnut produced and wrote their first and only album. Darryl Harper engineered the album. Christopher Harvey, Tally, Rodney Taylor, Darryl Harper, and Terrence Downs were 6 Feet Deep (Sixx Feet Deep). Christopher Harvest (6’9) was married to Vivica Foxx. He is her ex-husband.

Darryl Harper produced and sung on Because of You with 6 Feet Deep. Because of You is a perfect example of classic 90s R&B. The song describes a man having trouble understanding his woman’s feelings. The song would have been a favorite if released.

How was he to know that she was so unhappy? Never once did she express a single word. How many other times before he asked of her opinion. He already thought they got along. Now she insisted something else emotionally was going on with her because he kept their love so faithful. He just doesn't understand her sudden change of plans.

She made him touch before she still loved him and swore to God that she saw heaven in his eyes. Her blurry vision is dark and cloudy because she does seem to not like him anymore the way she did before. He kept their love so faithfully. What made her choose to abandon what they had? He just doesn't understand her sudden change of plans. He was always there for her.

Word is out that she frequently seems aroused when she boasted about this new love, she seemed proud. He can begin to tell her how it makes him feel. Because of her his luck to give has just run out.

Consider Me is one of those songs you play when you need to relax. It was a masterpiece. Some of you may remember that Consider Me was on the used soundtrack for the 1997 movie Gridlock’d. 2Pac said Consider Me was one of their best songs. That's just how good this song really is.

Consider Me was produced by LA Dre, Hurt M Badd, and Darryl Harper. Darryl Harper sang on Consider Me as he did many of the songs he produced for 6 Feet Deep.

Consider Me was the hit that kept Darryl Harper from getting "hit". Suge was looking for R&B/soul hits during the mid-90s and was getting persistently tired of Darryl producing music he did not agree with. He was getting irritated enough to assault him and kick his ass.

So Suge Knight tells Darryl Harper, "You better make a hit or get hit." So he sang his heart out in preference to getting his ass kicked by Suge Knight. 2Pac and MC Hammer laughed at him for actually making it. Darryl Harper says, “They weren't just singers. They were swingers.” Uncoincidentally Suge went to prison 2 months after Consider Me was recorded.

Darryl Harper went in knee deep on producing the song My Heart. He was the one turnin' the knobs on the SSL console. That is why the production on both channels was crystal clear. Darryl Harper also sang on My Heart.

Not many people know or knew this but Cody Chestnut was the producer who produced July Halloween. Those groovy guitar chords and notes were played by him. The song is nothing short of a crooner due to being perfectly mixed. As per usual Death Row Records fucked up by not releasing this song.

B-Rezell - The B-Rezell Album album review

B-Rezell - The B-Rezell Album is one of those sultry romantic albums for when you and/or your lover is a romantic mood. Everything from love songs to soulful romantic ballads can be heard on this album. Each song is very relaxing. Their sound is so dissonant.

Songs recorded for the album were Gettin Harder, Ooh Wee, Fuck The Shit Out Of You, Peaceful Summer, Let Me Kiss You, Does My Music Make You Wet, I Wanna Fuck You Baby, N-Ya-Eyes, In The Rain, Lick, Have Some Fun, I’m Ready, Fade Me, Bounce, Keeper, Hoochie, Blak, and Show Me Some Love.

However B-Rezell - The B-Rezell Album was never released in 1994 on Death Row Records as planned because Suge Knight and Dr. Dre deemed the album too commercial sounding for Death Row Records which lead to their album being shelved. Suge Knight and Dr. Dre thought B-Rezell would hurt their brand for having too much of that commercial sound. Death Row was too stuck in their formula to put and promote B-Rezell out.

Tyrone Wrice aka Hurt-M-Badd, George Parker III, Marc "Darc" McWilliams (Marc McWilliams), and L.T. Hutton were once members of the R&B group B-Rezell. L.T. Hutton and Tyrone Wrice were producers for B-Rezell. The group B-Rezell disbanded and Tyrone Wrice later served as a “wack room” producer who made beats for the Death Row label.

The classic West Coast sex jam is one of those provocative R&B bedroom jams perfect for a romantic night. B-Rezell recorded the song called Horny for the soundtrack for the 1994 movie Murder Was The Case. The song was produced by Kevin Lewis and Marc McWilliams. Now there were two remixes to/of this song which were the Jazz Remix and Candlelight Remix. Both of which have never been released.

Marc called his lady up for some sexual feelin’. His penis is hard again. So he brings over the lotion so he can rub her with the lotion. Marc tells her to assume the position so he can fuck her all night long until she moan and scream. She cuts off her pager and unplugs the phone. He promises this won’t hurt her. He tells her, “Don't say a word. Just let me work it. I promise baby that I won't hurt it. I know you need one nice and strong. So I refuse to let you go home.” Marc is gettin' kinda horny.

I know the size is hard to believe. But it ain't the size that really counts. It's the way you move and make that sound that really counts. Every inch cause this is everlasting. You gotta keep on strokin’.

She makes love like she is much older and experienced. The kind of love that makes you have an intense orgasm. This is the freaky, deaky, zeeky you need to know about.

Their other jam Blowed Away is a slow tempo sultry provocative R&B song about smoking marijuana.  Another 4/20 anthem. Blowed Away was produced by DeVante Swing. B-Rezell recorded the song Blowed Away for the soundtrack for the 1994 movie Above The Rim. This song brings back so many memories for many people. This song of theirs was bumping hard in the trunk of cars back in 1994. Classic memories from the 90s. Their sound is dissonant.

“If you smell any smoke, it's just me and my homies getting blowed away.” where the lyrics used in the chorus to make the song memorable and impressionable by leaving a long lasting impression on people for a life time.

Imagine yourself getting blowed away and flowin' away. Chillin' like a mothafucka on this hot ass day. So fire up the bud for them niggas today. Cause we be bumpin' with the groove gettin' blowed away. Let B-Rezell take you by the hand and let them tell you something good like UGK. There's a party goin' on. So let's ride through the hood. You don't wanna be late. Don't wanna miss the fun. So hurry up and get ready. Before they roll up another fat one.  If you smell any smoke, it's just me and my homies getting blowed away. It's all good.

The sounds are bumpin' from this ghetto track. If you wanna ride, all you do is pull out the stack. You can get right in for this 20 sack. There's a party tonight. There will be hoes shakin' their asses left to right. I'm havin' some fun. Roll up a fat one and pass it around.

In The Rain is one of their most underrated songs to date. The song is a mid tempo song filled with sultry R&B sounds and instrumentation. Honestly Danny Boy or Nate Dogg should have sung on the song. That would have been a beautiful epic combination. Plus the production is clear and divine.

Michel’le - Hang Tyme EP EP review

The Michel’le - Hang Tyme EP is classic soul and R&B meets hip hop/rap. Hang Tyme continues the mix of classic soul and hip-hop. Hang Tyme, Wasted My Tyme (Remix), So Many Wayz (Remix), This Thing Called Love, and Tell Me More Lies were some of the standout tracks.

The Michel’le - Hang Tyme EP was the follow-up EP to Hung Jury. Hang Tyme picks up where Hung Jury left off. She picks up where she left off on this EP.

The EP was supposed to be released in 1998. However the Hang Tyme EP never came out as there were disagreements between Michel’le and the producers. She didn’t agree with the creative direction they wanted her to go in. So Suge had the EP shelved as a result. Also from a sales standpoint, the sales for the Hung Jury album were very poor. They did not want to risk EP flopping. The EP even had a catalog number issued which was Death Row 30248 (cassette single).

Michel’le shows her more feminine side on Hang Tyme. She also show cases her more sensual and sexual side on the song as well. Better production was used. However better production would be needed to make this song a hit.

Wasted My Tyme was about the time she wasted in her relationship with Dr. Dre. This was the song that caused Dre and Suge to slap her. You can tell Michel’le still had feelings for Dre when listening to the lyrics on Wasted My Tyme (Remix). The lyrics "Don't cry, don't you cry no more" and “I told you to go, I just want to be alone” hit the heart hard. Her lyrics have ability to touch your heart. The song uses a warm funky bass line which makes the song memorable.

So Many Wayz (Remix) was another cut which explained and showcased her toxic relationship with Dre. She loved Dre in so many ways. There are so many ways to say the things you want to say and do. There are so many ways to say goodbye.

Tell Me More Lies is No More Lies and Tell Me Lies revisited. Tell Me More Lies is a song aimed at men who are abusive and unfaithful to their lovers. However this song is aimed more at unfaithful men than it is abusive men it seems. Men exaggerate, lie, and are unfaithful at times. The song was aimed at Dr. Dre and Suge Knight for not being faithful.
