The Jacksons - 2300 Jackson Street album review

The Jacksons - 2300 Jackson Street album was more R&B/new jack swing inspired than bubblegum pop. Many of the songs use the upbeat uptempo new jack swing elements. The 2300 Jackson Street album is one of the most overlooked and under appreciated albums in/out of The Jacksons discography and catalog next to Goin’ Places and Dancing Machine. Not many fans appreciated this album when it was released. Which is a shame because the album had enjoyable singles such as If You'd Only Believe, 2300 Jackson Street, Maria, and Nothin' (That Compares 2 U).

The Jacksons bring out the madness on Art Of Madness. Even with their soft wholesome vocals they manage to keep the mood of the song calm. Tito performs his usual spoken word which he excels in doing.

The quality of mercy is not strained. It drops like the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath. It is twice blessed. It blesses us with art. It blesses me with madness.

Tito can't help the things he does. Though they might seem strange to you. The things he does has his mind just spinnin' round. Inside, outside, and upside down.

There's an art to all this madness. Though it seems insane to you. There's a rhyme to all the reason. Have you any imagination of what Jermaine is goin' through? There's art to all this madness. People just can't understand. They don't think Jermaine is a normal man. You tell me now who's insane.

The Jacksons keep it all in the family with their new jack swing influenced single 2300 Jackson Street. Now the song hit home for them given how the song’s title is a reference to the house they all grew up in. The members share their memories of growing up and working hard.

Their parents sacrificed their wants and need so The Jacksons could reach the light.  Although the times were tough for them, they knew they both worked hard. They gave them all their hearts could give and still made room for love. 2300 Jackson Street is always home to The Jacksons.

The Jacksons are standing strong still today as they are one big united family. Although the road of life is tough with its ups and downs. They are the one and all. If they stay together they can conquer all. Their parents raised them to be the best that they could be. No matter how far they go. Now the stage is set.

Some of the most quotable lines were sung by Rebbie. Lines such as “If we stay together we can conquer all” and “We are the one and all” are quite quotable. Rebbie is the most underrated Jackson.

Betty Hutton - Somebody Loves Me album review

The album Betty Hutton - Somebody Loves Me is full of slow-paced love ballads performed by singer and songstress Betty Hutton herself along with other artists and musicians. This album has songs written from America's Most Underrated Sweetheart Betty Hutton! Betty Hutton was underrated during her tenure career as a singer.

The album Betty Hutton - Somebody Loves Me was released in the United Kingdom on CD by Sepia Records. Somebody Loves Me All of the songs were transferred to CD from the original 78 RPM recordings on acetate. So some surface noise may remain in the noise production sound.

Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad is about a gentleman Betty loves and admires. But all this gentleman does is take her for granted. So she decides to teach him a lesson and make him mad.

Betty’s got a guy who she likes because he is fine. But he takes Betty for granted all of the time. So she decides to teach him a lesson and make him mad. Betty went out on a date with the best friend he had. Sue enough that made him mad. Hot dog, that made him mad. What he did later was reconciled with her. He hugged and kissed Betty. And he asked Betty not to do go out on a date with his best friend again.

Late last night when she came in, he demanded to know just where she had been. But Betty really put him right in his place. Instead of giving him an answer, she laughed right in his face. That made him mad. You shoulda seen him. His face was red. He told her that if she didn’t change that he would leave. That made him when Betty laughed and told him just go right ahead.

The moral is for ladies to play it cool with the gentlemen they date or are in a relationship with.
Ladies, let your guy know you're nobody's fool. When he gets to thinking you're all his own, let him know that you can take him or leave him alone. And he'll hug and kiss you. He’ll ask you not to do it again. He'll squeeze and he'll  please you. And he'll ask you not to do it again.

She’s A Lady about how much of Betty is. She's the fine type. Home at 9 type. She's the most refined girl that the city has got.

Betty is a lady who’s as quiet as a mouse. So why she would never ever raise her voice to a shout? Not unless somebody else is drowning her out. Her manners are superb. Yes, she's a lady.

Yesterday Betty wore a gown of satin and lace. Her man took her out dining to the ritziest place. He's big hearted lover. Nothin' is too good for him. He bought her a golden necklace fit for a queen. If that's a golden necklace, why's her neck turnin' green? She’s romantic. He's romantic. He's the shy type.

He's the kind that girls can't trust. Some guys take a girl out ridin' and when they do, she may have to walk home. That don't happen to Betty. That's because she takes them riding in a canoe. She's the fine type. Home at 9 type. She's the most refined girl that the city has got. Betty’s as gentle as a lamb.

When Betty boards onto a crowded bus, she finds a guy with a seat Then she drop het handkerchief so it lands at his feet. When he stands up to get it, that's when she grabs his seat.

These lyrics give the listener(s) details about what kind of gentleman Betty likes.

You're what "class" is
You need glasses
You know just how things are done
In a crowded bus, you find a guy with a seat
Then you drop your hanky so it lands at his feet
When he stands up to get it, that's when I grab his seat

Brotha Lynch Hung - Dinner And A Movie album review

Brotha Lynch Hung's 2010 album Dinner And A Movie sounds like a badass horror. That is not surprising since the album was specifically formatted and laid out as a horror movie with many similarities by him. The album has solid story telling backed with descriptive lyrics on his songs. This album has music that would be suitable for a soundtrack in a movie. Think about the film scores and songs used in movies of the psycho thriller genre and horror movies. Why his album has that horror movie sample sound. His songs are good to include on a soundtrack for a major movie or an underground indie movie/film.

Brotha Lynch Hung - Dinner And A Movie was the best Strange Music of 2010. This album is more horrorcore and gruesome than all of his other albums save for Season Of Da Siccness. Horrorcore rap meets new school rap on this album. These are his cannibal sessions. The Dinner And A Movie album is serving an appetizer for all things to come. So have dinner and a movie while you wait.

Now the album cover itself is similar to a scene similarly seen in a horror film or a poster advertising a horror movie. That's no coincidence. You can see a black mask which quickly gives away serial killer vibes. Some may think the album cover was based on an original concept by Brotha Lynch Hung. The album cover looks like a badass horror movie made in 2010 or 2011. The color scheme follows the format of a horror film or a mystery novel.

Meat is about how a man is unable to support his child as finances are tight. He is about to sign a deal with a record label. So they won’t have to struggle anymore. But they gonna do what they gotta do and that's get the meat. The song deals with the struggle of being broke. Brotha Lynch Hung returns to his old school Siccmade self on Meat with the beats and lyrics. It's so badass!!

Brotha Lynch Hung only got enough money for some hamburger meat. But he still ain't tripping that's the shit he likes to eat.

His son says, “Daddy, this is all we got to eat?” Lynch tells his son he about to sign big time with Strange Music. Strange Music got Brotha Lynch Hung back fade hopefully. He is downloading beats and will start writing lyrics to them. That’ll bring them the extra cheese they desperately need. So he tells his son, “We gonna eat somehow like the Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese.”

But for now he is gettin dirty meat and stacks of G's with the AR and automatic Uzi machine. All him and his gotta do is wash it off and then put it in the freeze. And then they’ll be good for another couple of weeks.

Lynch tells his son once his son gets older like him that he’ll tuckin the heat and if not then he’ll be stuck in the streets. “When you get older like me you'll be tuckin the heat. And if not you, you'll be stuck in the street.”

He wishes he could his son his mother loves but that up to her and on her to tell him she loves him. But they gonna do what they gotta do and that's get the meat. Strange Music got Brotha Lynch Hung back fade hopefully. But if not, see there really ain't no hope for him.

He only has enough money for top ramen noodles. His son lookin' at Lynch like he don't wanna come too close. He saw Lynch in the bathroom cryin’. It was too late. Lynch couldn't even keep a straight face like 2 face. All the mother fuckas around Lynch was too fake. Brotha Lynch Hung separated himself from most homies because most enemies started out to be close homies. He ain't got an album out. Now they call him too late. It was due time. No matter who's wrong or who's right. Life's like shakin' 'em up and rollin' the dice.

All they got to eat today is bullshit. Time for Lil Kevin to pray but Brotha Lynch Hung doesn't pray. He carries full clips. It's gone be a tight squeeze. But they can get through this. Old as he is, he can still count it on one hand. Brotha Lynch Hung has got another plan. He’s got a million of em. He’s gonna still come with em and still run with em.

Brotha Lynch Hung went old school with these lyrics.:

That's it, I'mma wipe my hands
I'm hella broke but I don't dance

We both gotta stretch it out like a rubber band
I got another plan, I got a million of em
I'mma still come with em, I'm still run wit em
We gotta keep it goin, then I'm done with it

The song has some of the most quotable dialogue and quotable lines in the history of his music. He came up with old school lyrics that rhyme and are memorable.

We gonna eat somehow like the Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese
Gettin' dirty meats, make me some fuckn' stacks of G's
With the AR, automatic Uzi machine

All you gotta do is wash it off and then put it in the freeze
And then we good for another couple of weeks
When you get older like me you'll be tuckin the heat
And if not you, you'll be stuck in the street

Life's like shakin' 'em up n rollin' the dice
Thin slice, and my old school homey like where you been Ice?
Just marinatin, stomach aching shit ain't been right

That means you going through the same situation
That means we gone keep going through the same shit you hatin'

We in the O zone, twilight zone
All we got to eat today is bullshit
Time for you to pray, but I don't pray I carry full clips

I'mma still come with em, I'm still run wit em
We gotta keep it goin, then I'm done with it

These are the best one-liners he used in the song. These one-liners are the most memorable and quotable.

We gonna eat somehow like the Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese
Life's like shakin' 'em up n rollin' the dice
Bar B Q yesterday, where the fuck was I at?
A football game, Where's my motherfuckin' high at?
Just marinatin, stomach aching shit ain't been right
We in the O zone, twilight zone
Time for you to pray, but I don't pray I carry full clips
Don't nobody love you like me

I Plotted (My Next Murder) is how Brotha Lynch Hung plotted his next murder. I Plotted (My Next Murder) has killer ass bass in an uptempo suspenseful mood. This is one of those fast paced songs that will make you want to run in a hamster wheel. The instrumentation gives away an eerie feeling appropriate for a horror film.

He was sitting in a room with a pistol, schizo. Fist full of bullets and his grip’s low. He mad. People say his music ain't Strange enough. So he signed on the dotted line with Strange. Now he’s back and bad like LL. Ladies love me but fuck 'em. He’ll make their bodies smell. Lynch has got a psycho bitch. She'll cut you well. Leave you in a trashcan. Serious and furious is what he is. Lynch is fuckin' them bitches while on their period. Here's his brand new meat dish. Intestines, bell peppers, onions, and salt, Which are his delicatessen.

He plotted my next murder in the bedroom. Gripping on a pistol. Way too potent like Sisco. Overdose. You ain't getting up in the morning. He hit you over dinner and a movie. He’s schizo.

Somebody roll another motherfuckin' blunt. Other motherfuckers want Brotha Lynch Hung’s siccness spit. His psycho bitch is running up to go around slashing people. Lynch will keep coming with psycho shit. Murdering others like Michael Pitt. That's just what’s happening. It's just another damn murder.

Colostomy Bag is another one of the more graphic and gruesome bloody themed songs on the album. That's what it is. The Coathanga Strangla first made an appearance and was mentioned first on this song. Lynch plays the role of a murderous bloodthirsty character named Coathanga Strangla.

He’s a little strange now. Brotha Lynch Hung is on fire like a human torch. Ain't nobody can fuck with him. He’s just gettin' warmed up. Pure white cocaine spit not even stepped on. Sort of like blue magic.  He takes a stab at pussy. He’s an addict. It bleeds when he taps it. Manic depressive. And if you test him, plan to get your chest ripped. Damn Smith & Wesson will test 'em. Lynch can still see siccem from long distance. Hand full of intestines

Your folks get mangled up from the naval by the Coathanga Strangla. The Coathanga Strangla will put you in the hospital fast and have you wearing an oxygen mask with the doctors in surgery getting a colostomy bag.

His whole cigarette's wet. Lynch is about to smoke it. He gets hard like East Oakland rappers. After the crew gets over him, Lynch be standin' over him with a nine millimeter to hit him like a wide receiver like Jerry Rice. All Lynch does is just think about eating them em every night.

Them niggas think Lynch is weak because he is very nice.  So he gotta carry every knife and every machete. His head'll be buried and gettin' cut up by the Coathanga Strangla. Lynch will be at the motel fucked up. Blood in his cup with a fine bitch hugged up. He eats nigga nuts and guts. You already know what the Coathanga Strangla eats. Your insides and your enzymes. You a hot dog like Oscar Mayer.

Brotha Lynch Hung returns to his old sicc style on I Tried To Commit Suicide with the horrorcore Siccmade style of rap he uses. He explains why he tried to commit suicide on I Tried To Commit Suicide.

Brotha Lynch Hung tried to commit suicide. He had a gun in his mouth and a tear in his eye. Where's his’ daughter at? He is thinkin' about the next place he can slaughter at. He knows she wonders where her father's at.

He had a lot on his mind. Suicide was one of the things on his mind.  He couldn't figure nothin' out. His mother just died It's like everything was blowin' up in his mind. Lynch couldn't determine what was wrong or right. Lynch is in a really weird place. Now metaphorically he is really missing home. I couldn't explain how much. Lynch is on some shit that'll get you locked up and put in the trunk. Shit’s fucked up. He feels like jumpin' out the window. And nobody cares. He might as well take this nine mili and die right here.

Sit in That Corner Bitch! is about a female hooker Lynch assaults and kills for appearing on television and on the internet.

Sit in That Corner Bitch! is a diss track aimed towards all the haters obviously. Sit in That Corner Bitch! sounds as if it came from a badass horror movie made in 2011 which makes the track even more hardcore!

Lynch just saw her face on the TV (look at that) and people already think she is laying 6 feet deep. He took a nap. Now people on the news talking about how they want their hooker back. Lynch gave her back to them, but not before he took a bat and bashed her in the head with the bat. Then he took a machete and dug her fucking eyes out. He picks her up and tied knots. He has her on the bed playing dead. Then he took her to the bathtub and made her bloody red. He cut a nigga's bitch up, put her in the trash bag, and that's that.

Now Brotha Lynch Hung is on the internet. Why not? MySpace is the place. He's on Facebook. She's in the space. Look. Lynch tells the female hooker, “Hey. I'm telling you, bitch. You better take me serious. Remember when you got that computer for Christmas? Yeah that's why you're here. Sit in that corner, bitch. Now I'm about to cut you, and eat you, bitch.”

Lynch tells the female hooker, “Sit in that fuckin' corner, bitch! No. Just sit in that fuckin' corner and shut the fuck up, bitch. I should've kept you off the internet. Sit in that corner, bitch! Shut the fuck up.”

She asked Lynch for a cigarette. He tells her to pull out her breasts. He tells her, “ First, pull out your titties and I promise I can get you wet. After I slit your neck.” Then he proceeds to the kitchen to open her skull in cold water and get her brains washed. Itchin to get to spit the guts. By cooking it and eating it. You will find shit all in the couch. Shit in the bathroom and shit in the mouth. Razorblades and alcohol. Like 50 bitches on their period. It's about to take 3 hours like ham hocks. Brotha Lynch Hung is sicker than Charles Manson.

Lynch tells the female hooker, “Sit in that fucking corner, bitch! Yes, it's just about an hour left before dinner. You wanna watch a movie? Instead of popcorn, I got popcorn alligator, you want some? Okay, well uhm, I gotta piss. So um, You need anything to drink? I also got diarrhea too. So uh, you want a milkshake?”

Brotha Lynch Hung does wordplay about brainwashing with these lyrics. “I keep 'em brainwashed/Cut open the skull in cold water, get ya brains washed”

He got creative with these lyrics about social media and the internet. “Now I'm on the internet, motherfucker why not?/MySpace is my place; pick her up and tie knots” and “He's on Facebook, she's in the space look” Now Brotha Lynch Hung is on the internet. Why not? MySpace is the place. He's on Facebook. She's in the space. Look.

Nutt Bagg explains how much of nutcase Brotha Lynch Hung really is. The term “nutt bagg” is another word for nutcase. To put it simply, Brotha Lynch Hung is a nutcase.

Brotha Lynch Hung does not give a fuck about what you think and about what you feel. That’s how the truth feels to him at least. Sitting in a cage Lynch has got an appetite to crack and pop that steel and pop that veal. Lynch is going to get it. Ya’ll mothafuckers is not that real. Brotha Lynch Hung is a nutt bagg.

I'm telling you this is the siccness shit. This shit can get twisted. His life is stuck in a cage. Better be ready to duck fast. Get sick to this. He stays with the same Glock and the gauge. Laid in the shade with a bag o naze. Sicker than a bag of AIDs. They call him the nutt bagg.

He puts average niggas up in the attic. He  also takes dead bitches and stabs them up in the abdomen. He is leaving bodies on Madison Avenue for dinner and a movie after he stabs at you. You got a bit of the sickness, haven't you? It’s like cocaine. Not even a freight train can stop him.  Not even the straight cane can rock him. He uses weed to maintain a top speed. Low down to slow down with the four pound.

DK-All-Day - F-Yo-Punk-A (F-Yo-Punk-A - DK-All-Day) album review

DK-All-Day - F-Yo-Punk-A (F-Yo-Punk-A - DK-All-Day) is one of the lesser known gangsta rap albums from Denver, Colorado. Only those who know Denver rap will know about this album. This album is a pinnacle of 90s Denver rap. The album is quite violent and controversial due to having confrontational themes and vibes. This is also one of the more infamous albums from the Kut N Kru Records label with the infamous DJ Quik diss. The album is very anti-police given how this album was released in 1993. A time when the Rodney King incident was still fresh in people’s minds.

One thing that is noticeable about this album is the low volume inside of the mixdown with the production. Many of the songs were produced in high quality. Some of the older Denver rap was recorded at Platinum Sound Studio. Platinum Sound Studio always had great mixing, although the volume was very low. The reason for the low volume is because the songs recorded went straight from mixdown to cassette. Many Denver rap albums were released on cassette only in the 1990s.

The best thing about some of the older denver stuff is that many were recorded at Platinum Sound studio, which always had great mixing, although the volume was very low, which I don't think they were actually officially mastered.

DK-All-Day was dissing DJ Quik and his crew on their song 12 Gauge Tragedy over gang rivalry and gang politics. DK-All-Day were Crips and DJ Quik was a Blood.

Here is the backstory to this song and why DK-All-Day was dissing DJ Quik and his clique.

On the date of October 13, 1991, DJ Quik did a concert at the Mammoth Events Center in Denver, Colorado to promote the Born and Raised in Compton album. However DJ Quik was unaware that Denver was full of Rollin' 30 Crips. Crips are/were rivals of Bloods. The Crips outnumber the Bloods back in the 90s. At least in Denver, Colorado.

Members from that set of Crips went to DJ Quik’s concert and booed him off stage. They started throwing up gang signs. Later on they started assaulting DJ Quik and his crew with various objects. Of course this agitated DJ Quik. So DJ Quik reacted and retaliated by 40 oz. bottle and smashed it in someone's face.

Denver Police arrested DJ Quik after the incident. He was booked for investigation and charged with second-degree assault which resulted in him spending the night in jail. He was released on $5,000 bond the next day. He made light of the infamous incident in the song and single "Just Lyke Compton". People tested him everywhere he went. At least during the 1990s.

3 Minutes In The Mind Of A Killa explains the side state of a killer and the thought process of a killer. Basically what makes a person turn into a killer. This is some true killer shit no less.

Pussy Control is one of the more raunchier songs which is about sexual intercourse. The song is backed by a random sample of George Michael - Careless Whisperer. Notice the sample of the super jazzy saxophone used. The song is regarded as a classic today by fans of Denver rap and locals.

3 Dolla Loc is one of the tougher gangsta rap songs on the album. 3 Dolla Loc is notable for having such low volume due to the mixdown in production. The song was  recorded straight from mixdown to cassette. Which is why the song 3 Dolla Loc has such low volume.

Pierre Copeland - Play By Play album review

Pierre Copeland - Play By Play is one of the best jazz albums from Flint, Michigan. His musical style ranges from being upbeat to slow and smooth. Pierre Copeland is known for playing some of the best smooth jazz known to mankind. The sound from this album is so smooth. The way he plays that smooth jazz piano as a pianist is amazing. Pierre enlisteded the talents of Troy Sanders on lead guitar to give him that George Benson sound and to perform on the Play By Play album.

Lastin Countar is one of those smooth jazz songs. It’s as smooth as it gets her. The piano performance on Janyvette is just sublime and calming. Mr Creepers uses some of that laid back city jazz with live production. The talents of Troy Sanders on lead guitar and Phillip Osborne gave a song called The Wizarde that George Benson sound.
