M. Cally - Bedroom Legend album review

M. Cally - Bedroom Legend is a legendary R&B/Soul album from San Antonio, Texas that has been sorely overlooked and has gone under-appreciated. Not too many people know about this album. Bedroom Legend showcases and exemplifies M Cally singing the best within in his vocal range on both the low scale and high scale to the best of his ability.

Dramafied is one of the more calming sultry songs off the album. He hits those harmonies, riffs, and runs perfectly. The synths and chords make this song relaxing and harmonious. On Dramafied Marques wants a perfect day with his lady. He wants a perfect day with arguing on the phone or any other drama. This lady is dramafied and uptight. He tells her clearly that she does not need to be so dramafied.

Marques wants a perfect day. He tells his lady, “Let’s make today a good day. No arguing on the phone. No heresay. Just me and you chilling like we used to. Go out and hit the scene. And do what we wanna do.”

Nobody said he saw her ex at the club. He was never cheating on her as he doesn’t have another lover. He didn’t give her his number. He said to her, “Baby, let’s chill. No social networking. I only want to be with you. And the only networking is his body working on you.” Wine is what he brought over to her house. He tells her, “I belong to you, baby. You ain’t gotta be so dramafied.”

She does not need to trip or go there with him. He tells her clearly that she does not need to be so dramafied. Marques will do anything for her. He just wants her to get back to the passionate loving. He just wants her to go back to the passionate love they use to share and have. She still turns him on.

Kitchen 2 Bedroom is a 112 type of song that is similar to 112 - Anywhere. The song showcases and exemplifies about having sexual intercourse anywhere from the kitchen, the bathroom, all the way to the bedroom. Pretty much anywhere in the house.

Til Morning showcases and exemplifies M Cally singing the best within in his vocal range on both the low scale and high scale. M Cally wants his girl by his side. Begging is something he does not want to resort to. He asks her to lay her sexy body next to him. His intentions are to make her feel good. Tonight and forever will always be about her.

M Cally breaks us off something proper with the song Mr. Break U Off with his lovely vocal range and singing. M Cally breaks her off something at the same old town in the same old place. In the same old Mercedes Benz with a drink is how he greets her.

Shawty Pimp - B.P.P album review

Shawty Pimp - B.P.P is one of the most underrated and overlooked Memphis rap albums of 1995. Shawty Pimp’s fresh production leaves much to be desired because Shawty Pimp's tapes are always the shit! Can't Get Caught Up, One Mean Stang, and Can't Play No Playa are the highlights of this Shawty Pimp album.

The album starts off with a fly intro on One Mean Stang which goes, "Now since this the B.P.P. type and my name is Shawty P.I.M.P. and this shit is produced by me/We go kick some pimpin for you niccas out there you know I’m saying?/And my nicca Red Dog finna pick up from where he left off on that solo thang/And can nobody but the big boy’s dig this shit/So if you a big boi come on with me as I open the doors to the playas"

One Mean Stain deals with being trapped in an endless cycle of poverty. Shawty Pimp is trapped. One Mean Stain relies heavily on the sample of Roy Ayers Ubiquity - Everybody Loves the Sunshine.

Shawty Pimp has a lot on his mind as he is trying think of what to do. Shawty Pimp is broke as a motherfucker. There ain't no money coming through. It's been like this for a couple of weeks. He has think of a plan before he kills the next man. With a Glock in hand, he’s a wild man caught up in this life of crime. Shawty Pimp is about to get this man. Shawty Pimp has been trailing his ass for fifteen minutes. He waits in the driveway. The driveway leads up to a big ass house in Germantown. He took his dope and money too 'cause that's what a pimp is supposed to do. He also took his wedding ring. A nigga known for everything.

Shawty Pimp is now out looking for more hoes to trick. So I pulled out his .44, rushed the door, and threw them down.

Can't Play No Playa is quite a harmonic rhythmic gangsta rap/pimp rap song which samples Anita Baker - Whatever It Takes. You can’t play no playa. You busters better recognize.

Shawty Pimp and Reddog are in the middle of this dope game. Reddog's on the motherfucking set in the campaign. ‘Cause a nigga know it's you, automatic weapon fool. You might try to kill him in and assassination attempt but he ends up killing you instead. That is what the lyrics “You might try to kill me, in attempts I end up killing you” mean.

Bodies have been buried in the ground. You hoes that are talking shit can suck his dick. Shawty Pimp is cool and straight legit.

Shawty Pimp and Reddog explain how they execute their pimp game in these lyrics below.

Bеtter make my money hoе, if you know what's best for you
If you wanna keep your life, I suggest I keep on pimping you
Mane I'm getting richer from these hoes while my cash flow
Living like a, that's whatever you call it, I'm born it hoe

'Cause you know the shit I kick, pimping keeps my pockets thick
On you funky, shady bitches, having you hoes clock all my riches
Just because I dog on hoes, maybe even slap a hoe

Shawty Pimp just let us know that you cannot play a playa. He breaks down game to you lames and you busters. Beware as he is breaking wimps and breaking simps. To a player in the hood, cracking dollars in the street, stay clocking them dollars. Don’t weaponize a player when he's standing in your face, bitch. Him and Shawty Pimp making these hoes pay what they weigh. Living day by day. Sipping on that E & J.

Darkside Click – We So Corrupt album review

Darkside Click – We So Corrupt is one of the most underrated and overlooked Memphis rap albums of 1996. This album has that haunted horrorcore sound similar to Lil Grimm, Children Of The Corn, MDB, and Riverside Click. There are a lot of haunted junts on the album. The rest of the album is trippy. Beats that were used on this album were so ahead of their time. Those beats were and are on another level. You have those haunted junts on the album supported by eerie synths, airy pads, sinister soundscapes, grim vibes, lo-fi elements, and beats that were so ahead of their time. You can feel grim vibes coming from this group. Darkside Click is so underrated.

The junt Kickin In The Door uses some of cold old school beats from Memphis period! The song has the classic and memorable lyrics which go, “1 2 Freddy coming for you/3 4 Freddy kickin down ya door” Those songs left a long lasting impression on Memphis rap fans. So did these lyrics.  I got game for the lame/Prayer for the square/Thrill for the girl/And stitches for the bitches!”

The message of Westwood is “Don’t get anna wit the fool bumpin this. They’ll have the dead come at you.” Don’t have animosity aimed at or with the Darkside Click because they’ll have the dead come at you. They will send the dead to go after you.

The junt Rush A Nigga is about killing people. The song has a memorable yet killer chorus line which goes, “Rush a nigga to the paint/We gonna make his body stank” That chorus line makes the song ever more darker and eerie. Unsurprisingly the song is very explicit.

Darkside Click – Crazy Click album review

Darkside Click – Crazy Click is one of the more darker albums from Memphis rap group Darkside Click. You have those haunted junts on the album supported by eerie synths, airy pads, sinister soundscapes, grim vibes, lo-fi elements, and beats that were so ahead of their time. You’ll love how uncompromisingly sinister Memphis horrorcore rap is.

Comin' Straight From The Darkside unsurprisingly sinister as Memphis horrorcore rap is uncompromisingly sinister. Horrorcore rap meets experimental rap on Coming From The Darkside. This is one of the darkest songs on the album.

Shank A Nigga is about killing people. The song has a memorable yet killer chorus line which goes, “Shank a nigga to the paint/We gonna make his body stank” That chorus line makes the song ever more darker and eerie. Unsurprisingly the song is very explicit. The song uses Atari sound effects in background. Those synths make this sound like a Nintendo game or an Atari game.

Don't Fuck Wit A Real G uses dark sinister hypnotizing beats over a repetitive chorus line and haunted howling which can be heard in the background throughout the entire junt. The junt Don't Fuck Wit A Real G is a prime

Caught Slippin is one of the most sampled Memphis rap junts which not too many people know about at all. This junt Darkside Click - Caught Slippin has been sampled by several Memphis rappers over the years. Tommy Wright III also made a junt called Caught You Slippin which uses that sample but is slowed and pitched down like a bassline. There are so many good samples from this song.

Killing Field is one of the most darkest songs on the album next to Comin' Straight From The Darkside. This junt is dark as hell.

Darkside Click - Da Darkside album review

Darkside Click - Da Darkside is one of the most darkest albums from Memphis rap group Darkside Click. You have those haunted junts on the album supported by eerie synths, airy pads, sinister soundscapes, grim vibes, and beats that were so ahead of their time. You’ll love how uncompromisingly sinister Memphis horrorcore rap is.

Coming From The Darkside unsurprisingly sinister as Memphis horrorcore rap is uncompromisingly sinister. Horrorcore rap meets experimental rap on Coming From The Darkside. This is one of the darkest songs on the album.

The junt Rush A Nigga is about killing people. The song has a memorable yet killer chorus line which goes, “Rush a nigga to the paint/We gonna make his body stank” That chorus line makes the song ever more darker and eerie. Unsurprisingly the song is very explicit.

Thrown in the Ditch is one of the more lo-fi junts which uses eerie soundscapes, thin beats, samples, and howls. This is one uncompromisingly sinister Memphis horrorcore rap junt.

Wicked Witch is one of their more wicked songs which sampled Eric B. & Rakim - Chinese Arithmetic. This song is only known by hardcore Memphis rap fans.

3 Memphis Kniccas - 3 Memphis Kniccas album review

3 Memphis Kniccas - 3 Memphis Kniccas the most underrated and overlooked Memphis rap albums of 1995. Their eerie music gives people chills. Their album uses a good mix of mix of Memphis rap and Cleveland rap. Interestingly enough this Memphis rap album has a very death metal aesthetic. The melodies are tritoned to fit in with the lo-fi production. Similar to black metal. The  production was heavily inspired by the Psycho - Split Personality album. Which is why this album is a raw masterpiece.

3 Memphis Kniccas - 3 Memphis Kniccas is that legendary Memphis rap album that which anyone hardly knows about. That is because 3 Memphis Kniccas was a group that never had a big success as their peer groups Three 6 Mafia, Manson Family, Kami Kaze Inc, or Killa Klan Kaze did.

Rest Your Soul is one of those “depressing as fuck” songs. Yet the song is considered to be a slapper and a banger. The bass is all fucked up and distorted but that’s what makes the mixing or mastering better, grim, and darker. The distortion comes from this being a terrible copy of a copy of a copy. 3 Memphis Kniccas sound was considered one of the best out of the city of Memphis in 1995. 3 Memphis Kniccas never ever released any products with bad sounds, mixing or mastering. The samples used could have been anything from a movie to a Roland piece of equipment.

Teflon of Westwood killed it on Funkytown Sounds with his style of rapping. It’s the teflon once again! The Teflon Don like Lil Keke and Lil Kuku. Teflon of Westwood killing it is the highlight of this junt.

Barry White - The Man Is Back! album review

Barry White - The Man Is Back! was the moderately successful album which marked Barry White’s comeback into music. The end of the 80s sparked a revival in his dormant career. The album is a mixture of pop and love ballads. Highlights on the album included L.A. My Kinda Place, On this Barry White album, you have your inspirational songs with bring a sense of hopefulness such as Follow That And See (Where It Leads Y’All), Don’t Let Go, and Responsible. Those songs showcase his sense of maturity. You also have late nite bedroom jams such as I Wanna Do It Good To Ya and When Will I See You Again.

Barry White explain why Los Angeles, California is his kind of place on his song L.A. My Kinda Place. He explains the beauty of Los Angeles during the song. He also explains the beauty of the California coastline throughout the song too.

Los Angeles, California is Barry’s kind of place and Barry’s kind of town. He likes the city at night in the summertime.

Barry White was raised right here in Los Angeles on the South-East side. Not caught on the run. It's party time. Sexy freaks are out on the streets blowing it right. Barry is cruising slow. No pressure to go for him to drive faster because he is enjoying the night lights. Take a free ride with just about any friend. It will be well worth your time. If there's someone with you and you feel romantic too, go up on the Harlem Drive or to Newport in Malibu. The coastline is so nice. Take a seat because there's just so much to see. It really really dazzles ya’.

In Los Angeles, you can hear several genres of music ranging from rock & roll, hip-hop/rap, jazz to soul. That music too can make your night right. California has got the Rams and Raiders. Los Angeles has got the Dodgers, Lakers, and L.A. Kings.

Whatever you like is out here at night in the West Coast scene. Don't be surprised, if right before your eyes you see someone you might know because famous people stay right here in Los Angeles than anywhere else in this world. Through the immersive attractions and in the laid action. It's Hollywood and East Bay from the mountains to the beach. Up and down on the streets. Whatever you like is out there at night.

Los Angeles, California is his kind of place and his kind of town. He likes the city at night in the summertime. City lights sparkle at night in the summertime.

Follow That And See (Where It Leads Y’All) educates and tells us our future lies on our children. And that we need to give our children a better future. This song showcases Barry’s maturity in both songwriting and personality wise.

You know, we really can't afford to wait any longer. Only we have the power to change anything. The future lies on our children. Give them hope and save them. It’s your time. It's your life. It’s up to you. Do it right. Follow your life and see where it leads you.

You’re the power and the source. Use your positive force. From your shoulders that you earn from the shoulders that you learn. Almighty God is deep in your heart. Let's not dog in. Let's stop causing pain. Let's take all that power and concentration to teach our children truth and better gains.

We stifle our nation with false education. We can fool them all the day but tomorrow we will pay. We teach them power and wealth. It’s not just all for yourself. Material things don’t mean spiritual gain.

Through the panic and discreet, the truth will always set you free. We don’t have much time to go together. To change the things we let go on for so long. Only we can stop this devastation.

The ocean's another place for dumping our poison waste. That water is poisoning the ground. People dying all around. We are the landlords. Everything on this Earth is in our care. We must stop this asinine madness of destroying so many things and causing so much devastation everywhere.

Follow that beacon light. You won't know until you try. No more pranks. No more games. All heroes are the same.

Responsible explains how no love can survive deceptions or lies.

Being responsible is required and is a necessity when you are in love. Responsible for you and responsible for me. Be responsible for each other by holding each other responsible. Responsibility for you and responsibility for me. That's what it's gonna be. Responsibility is something we can't do without. That's what it's all about. That's what it's gonna be.

No love can survive deceptions or lies if lovers in a relationship are gonna have a chance at all. You can't afford to be like others. Quality and quantity are a balance. What's mine is yours and what's yours is mine. We both know all good things come in time and that's just what it is. Responsibility is something love can't deal without. Love is something so hard to find. But easy to be followed and mislead. Insecurities and slipping jealousy will cause dreams to fade in the wind.  Be sure to wait until the right time. You have to give both equally. Know that all great things come in time. This could be forever. Forever is a long time. You can make it work.

It’s Getting Harder All The Time is about how hard it would be for Barry to imagine what it would be like to love a woman he is in love with.

Baby, You know, imagination is really funny. For many days and many nights, he tried to imagine what it would be like to love her. He even tried to imagine what she would look like being loved by him to say the least. Barry can’t bring himself to do it as he is trying to do what a gentleman would do. Sometimes it's very hard to do. It’s impossible. Trying to be patient and tolerant. All the things that a man is supposed to be.

It's getting harder all the time just to keep himself from wanting her. It’s getting harder every day for Barry to stay away known that he is not worth a dime without her loving. It's getting harder all the time. It's getting hard every night Just to keep his hands from touching her. He might as well kiss his poor heart goodbye. There’s no fighting what he feels. It's like trying to hold back the tide.

Barry White - Put Me In Your Mix album review

Barry White proves you can never go wrong with putting him in your mix with his album Barry White - Put Me In Your Mix. He uses more contemporary R&B sounds such as new jack swing, slow jams, and electro funk. White’s traditional symphonic arrangements fit in perfectly with the new jack swing that was popular in 1991. This is his second best comeback album during his comeback phase which sparked another revival in his career.

Barry White puts a lovely spin on the term “dark and lonely” with the song called Dark And Lovely (You Over There). Barry gets back to his romantic bad self with these lyrics. “Let's create some romance/The way making love should be” and “Let's create some romance/That only we can make”

Why is Barry am smiling? His woman always make him smile. Look at her. She is so beautiful to Barry. Everything about her is just so beautiful. It just makes him feel good inside. When he looks at her, he loves her nature. And also her eyes. She is an innovative lady who is one of a kind. Believe me. His woman is mystifying, mesmerizing, self relying, and so satisfying. She is very special and so unique. He loves love the way she is sitting there. The way she stares at him.

This woman is dark and lovely. She is a new age lady and an independent girl. See over there is a high tech lady in an independent world. Dark and lovely is what his woman is.

She's captivating and stimulating. And sometimes intimidating. So illuminating. She is extra special from her head down to your feet. The sexy way she is sitting there. The way she smiles at him.

For Real Chill is about Barry wanting his woman wanting to chill. The song uses that upbeat new jack sound over R&B vibes.

Now it's their time to settle back, relax, and chill. To do all the things that they love to do. There's no rush. All they got is time. For real chill and tell me how this feels. I'm gonna tranquilize your soul with love tonight.

Barry remembers the first time he saw her. He was completely blown away. He remembers the first time he called her and what an effect it had on him. He remembered what he said to her. Barry tells his woman, “There's no rush. All we got is time. For real chill and tell me how this feels. I'm gonna tranquilize your soul with love tonight. I'm gonna stimulate your body and your mind.”

Sho’ You Right (Remix) is about being right about the romance. Think about taking time to touch and feel the one you love.

Barry’s woman has got Barry’s undivided attention. He is relating to her philosophies. They’re gonna take their own sweet time. They’re going to touch and feel each other. This magical moment of the night won't go too slow and won't go too fast. They’re gonna make it last.

She sure is right about romance and about love. She sure is right about the night. And she sure is about the night. Love is in their eyes tonight. The moon is set now for them to go. Oh the stars light them for them tonight. I know you know they got to get physical to get on. The same thing turns you on turns on me.

Ann P - No Remote album review

Ann P - No Remote has the worst production for an album released in 2007. You probably are thinking, “This is the worst production I ever heard.”  But the bad quality and production of the album is the beauty of Memphis rap and Memphis electro. This is that darkness which is Memphis is renown for. The slow grooves on this album will put you in a slow mood. DJ Sound and Player 1 made those brehsive beats.
