Kaskade - Fire & Ice album review
Kaskade - Fire & Ice is another one of the more upbeat electronic dance albums in Kaskade’s discography. Dance and electronic meet each other on this album. Now a majority of this Kaskade album is filled with love songs. Love songs and romance are common themes and elements in Kaskade’s releases.
There is a sense of happiness on Room for Happiness. The song explains why sometimes you wish you never felt the influence of the person you wanted to be with because now you feel the disconnect like an open wound which hurts. The message of Room for Happiness is “Don't be fooled by their emptiness because there's so much more room for happiness.”.
Sometimes you wish you never felt the influence of the person you wanted to be with because now you feel the disconnect like an open wound which hurts. There is a space where you once were that runs deep. But every morning when you wake, you tell yourself, “Don't be fooled by your emptiness. There's so much more room for happiness.” Sometimes it's worse to have lost than to have never had at all because it's a curse to feel love than to feel it all dissolve.
The song Eyes explains how eyes are the window to the soul. Eyes are the windows to the soul because love is plain to see. Oh you will know love is plain to see if you look into someone’s eyes. And time can never leap it.
How Long is about how long it takes to get someone's wish fulfilled. How does it make you feel when I say love is a battlefield? Impartially concealed. Under heavy sword and shield. A casualty revealed. Someone's wish fulfilled. I'm breathing fire with a mindless desire. Still unbelieving? You try to bear the blame but something changed. You call it loud and clear. Compel the wounds to heal.

Guice - Ashes Off My Blunt album review
Guice - Ashes Off My Blunt is one of the lesser known classic Memphis rap albums with several classic junts. This album serves as one of the best examples of Blackout’s production next to Mongotti and Lil Gain - Big Time Playaz. Blackout helped bring out a grim dark atmosphere while Guice laid down the delivery with his vocals. Those dark slow beats are the best. Blackout is the best when it comes to producing those dark slow beats. That knappy headed nigga named Guice is comin' at yo ass. Really though.
Find Myself explains how Guice is coping with his current living situation while living in abject poverty. He finds himself unable to be employed for a number of reasons. But he is taking responsibility for all his actions. Those dark slow beats are the best. Blackout is the best when it comes to producing those dark slow beats.
Looking at himself in the mirror, Guice sees himself as a nigga from the ghetto with no food, money, or shelter. He lives in abject poverty. So he finds himself living in the streets trying to figure out a way to get back on his feet. He ran away from home because he was unable to understand why he had to take that bullshit of his father. So he started blowing bud with some thugs in the hood.
If niggas wanna jump, he is bringing out the pump. Bussin hoes in they rump. Down goes another chump. But a punk shot two of Guice’s niggas in the chest. The next week two more of his niggas were put to rest. Guice is now on the run as he is the only one left.
Now Guice unable can't find a job or seek employment because he lacks the proper skills of being employed. He is about to lose his mind as he feels the tension build. So he walks the streets late at night to find a victim. Guice robs the victim by taking the money from their wallet. Next he bought himself an ounce and now it’s time to make a profit. Guice started slanging 20s and clocking g’s selling the product.
Unfortunately the feds got a video of Guice making the deal. One time busted in his crib and caught him red handed. The feds and one time set up his own boys. The IRS seized his wealth. The judge at the trial found him guilty.
Guice did 20 months behind bars and now he’s back in the hood. These niggas won't front Guice because they think is a police officer. So he goes to the club just to scheme upon a live hoe. Ain't nothin popping cause they know a nigga broke.
Instead they jock them niggas with them Gucci links and gold ropes. It’s ironic how his life changed around. Guice used to be on top and now he can't get help now that he is down. He needs to make a hustle but doesn’t know where to start. Should he take his .38 to jack a nigga out the dark? But if he takes the chance, where can he go to find the product? Guice can't get a deal because niggas think he is on narcotics. He hasn't had a decent meal since he hit the street.
Guice can't count on his family for help because he is not a kid. He could've broke the system but the system broke him instead. And there’s only one bullet in the chamber of his piece. He’s looking in the mirror and its driving him to death. So he puts the barrel to his head so he can find himself.
Guice explains the Wet Dream he had on Wet Dream. The junt Wet Dream is full of that real smooth shit.
Guice saw this fine lady at the club smokin' on some bud. So he stepped up talkin' some smooth shit. She got a pretty smile. He liked her style and her ass. He liked the way she moved her ass. Guice asks her to dance with him so he can get to know her better. Now Guice doesn’t care if this lady already has a man.
Next they go conversate in his '64 because he knows she can’t hear him in the club. He turned on the heat and grabbed the Swisha sweet. He sees her getting high. Now he is rubbing on her thigh. Pussy is something that he wants too. He knows a better place where they can be alone and get it on. And won't nobody tell her nigga that they saw her face. Ain't no telling what they might do.
His dick is getting stiff. So he grabs the fifth of Seagrams Gin when they stop at the liquor store. Then they head to the Comfort Inn. Now they are in the room. Guice assumes she wants to get with it. He is taking off her clothes and her pantyhose leaving them by the telephone. He gets to rubbin' on her cunt. She is gettin' hot. He can feel her pussy getting wet. Guice thinks it's time to give her what she really wants. So he gives it to her slow by sticking his beanpole to/in her. Guice is guaranteed to make her cum when her man doesn’t. Guice wakes up in his home all alone with his draws fulla nut to come to realize what he had was just a wet dream.
Murder On They Mindz is about committing murder nonetheless.
Guice is a young nigga tryin' to make a come up in the ghetto slums. He is 18 and has to find a job. However his unable to find a job with decent pay because he has no diploma or GED equivalent. The jobs he finds the pay $4.25 an hour have him quitting everyday. He knew he was a goner. Fuck that shit. So he hit the track with 13 rocks and a bag of weed. Rock for rock, 10 for the bill. Now a motherfucker like him is slanging quality keys.
These lyrics are still poignant today given how no one wants to work anymore. These lyrics explain why no one wants to work for low wages anymore.: “Job is a waste of time, work all your life and end up without a dime” These lyrics are still poignant today as they were more than 25 years ago when this junt was recorded. Guice believes that working a job is a waste of time. He would rather not work all his life and end up with little to no money.
Plus a Memphis cat like Guice is moving this shit. Making that cheese with ease. He came up in this girl without a dime. He’ll be damned if this how he leaves.
Sonny-E is rolling in that lexus bumping that brand new FAZE. A window rolls down when they came to a stoplight. A nigga stuck a .38 to Sonny-E’s face. That nigga shouted, "Drop it off." waving that .38 and shit. Guice gets jacked for his money and jewelry with Sonny-E. That nigga took his rings, money, and that Lexus. But that ain't shit as Sonny-E know they will meet again at another place. He’ll forget this incident, but he won't forget that nigga’s face. Murder is their minds. Murder on they mindz.
2 years later and times are harder. A nigga like Guice ain't got dope to serve. Guice ain't got no dough to splurge. He called up his bitch since that's the only friend he seems to have. He tells her his plans by saying, "What's up, baby” 10 o'clock me and you at the club tonight. I’ll be doing, having out with a scoop you up at with a sack alight."
Guice scooped up his bitch at 9:04 PM. They made a stop at the liquor store. They grabbed some Alize and a box of Swisha sweets too. Then they pulled up at the club at 10 PM on the dot. Bumping Snubnoze underground cassette tape from 1993. Finishing up the blunt and alize, now Guice is feeling hype. A chevy rolls up and it’s the nigga that jacked him and Sonny-E at the stoplight. Guice reaches for his heat and starts shooting at him. You better believe it's on. Murder is on they mindz.

Doomshop - Blood Thicker Than Water album review
Doomshop - Blood Thicker Than Water is one of the lesser known and under-appreciated Memphis rap albums which does not get the credit or recognition truly deserved. This is one of those underrated and overlooked Memphis rap junts. The album stayed indebted to the dark and grimey trademark sound of Memphis rap. They’re more than just Memphis resurrection though mainly their style is horrorcore and dark trap. Not to mention hardcore and gangsta. Mike Mike was in this album. The same one from Graveyard Productions. Electronic meets rap on this album.
Act Like You Know is to let you know Doomshop is running shit in the underground and serving bricks on the down low. The junt is aimed at playa haters and imitators. Playa hataz wanna see their downfall.
Doomshop is back up in this bitch serving bricks on the down low. Same playa hataz and imitators wanna stop their flow. Come on, get you some then, matching up with this Mac-10. Hold up. Stick yourself before you meet an early death. That's the way Doomshop was living in the year 1995.
Doomshop is tired of serving junkies and breaking bitches, mane. It's do or die on these Memphis streets. Smoked out on embalming fluid and sniffing cocaine. Thinking about the other side. They gotta treat them all the fucking same. They got these bustaz biting the dirt. Playa hataz wanna see their downfall. But Down South Memphis niggas staying real and coming up.
Never Had To Struggle used a repetitive chorus with a subdued delivery. Nevertheless the junt Never Had To Struggle stays indebted to the dark and grimey trademark sound of Memphis rap. Those bells, drums, percussion, bass, and synths prove otherwise. Never Had To Struggle also has some of the best booming bass on the album.

Nigga Creep – Demons Takin Over Me album review
Nigga Creep – Demons Takin Over Me is one of the unique Memphis rap albums of 2012 with a mysterious aura backed behind several backstories. The album has those dark eerie soundscapes ridden with esoteric violence commonly heard in Memphis rap.The album stayed indebted to the trademark dark and grimy sound of Memphis with DJ Sound’s production no doubt of course. DJ Sound’s production was outta this world. You know the ultra lo-fi sound. That is why you can feel that siccness with this album. Most of the songs were recorded in the 1990s. So expect to hear that dark lo-fi sound. Nigga Creep goes hard on this album.
The album was issued on cassette and CD by Player 1 in 2012. The album Nigga Creep – Demons Takin Over Me is a compilation of Nigga Creep tracks gathered from other DJ Sound releases. Turn Into Killaz is a track from the album Prophet Posse - Body Parts. Some fans of Memphis rap call this album a bootleg even if this is an official album. Some people even remember seeing and purchasing the album Nigga Creep – Demons Takin Over Me at Mr. Z's back in 1995.
For those who did not know, Nigga Creep was Project Pat’s cousin. Nigga Creep died during what was believed to be a botched home robbery but was really just a misunderstanding in the Ridgecrest Apartments back in the year 2000. According to Project Pat, Nigga Creep got killed over a misunderstanding. He was accused of robbing someone’s home. So he to the home to tell the people he had not robbed someone’s home. The people who were inside the house during that time were scared. They thought Nigga Creep was came back to do something malicious and unlawful. So they shot Nigga Creep through the front door. He died instantly on the scene.
The song Splittin Niggaz Wigs is actually Ridgecrest Massacre which was based on a true story. The Ridgecrest Massacre was a series of shootings took place one night in the Ridgecrest Apartments sometime on September 19, 1994. This incident would become known as the "Ridgecrest Massacre". DJ Sound and Nigga Creep put this song together days after the shootings in the Ridgecrest Apartments.
Here is why this song is known as and called Splittin Niggaz Wigs. The song was later remastered and renamed to Splittin Niggaz Wigs when it was being used on other albums. The song was used on other albums over the years. Splittin Niggaz Wigs was sampled in the junt Ridin Round Frayser.
Reachin' For My Mask has that dark horrorcore sound you would expect to hear in Memphis rap. Gangsta rap meets horrorcore and screwed music on Reachin' For My Mask. That’s how Memphis 90s rap sounded like. The junt is back by DJ Sound’s dope esoteric beats and Nigga Creep’s ill flows.
Not many people know this but the string sample is from Heather's Departure on the New Nightmare Soundtrack. The other sample is from Kickin N Doors which can be found on the album DJ Sound - Volume 10.
The junt has the lyrics, "Robbery keeps me strong/4-5 to yo bitch ass dome/1, 2, 3, my 4-5 pop the glock/Drop and make you bustaz", “Reachin' for my mask and you know I’m full of funk/smoking weed, smoking weed, choppin yayo”, and “ N to the I to the G to the G to the A to the C R double E P”. The words “smoking weed, smoking weed, choppin yayo” can be heard during the chorus.
Demons Takin Over Me is about how demons are taking over Nigga Creep to commit evil homicides. He prepares himself for those days of self-destruction as demons take him over.

II Black - Smilin Faces album review
II Black - Smilin Faces is one of the lesser known II Black albums which not many people know about. Smilin Faces is one of the lesser known Memphis rap albums of course. This album is filled with warped eerie soundscapes and lo-fi beats. However most of this tape is just shoutouts though. The album was pressed up and released locally in Memphis back in 1995.
The junt Smilin Faces uses a warped eerie soundscape over lo-fi beats which sounds like a Blackout production. II Black produced the entire song himself.
Smilin Faces was a Mitchell Heights posse cut where the members of Mitchell Heights Veterans dissed Three 6 Mafia. These are some of the lyrics which diss Three 6 Mafia, "They claim they down with me" and "Screamin tear da club up/Big boy, you ain't got no guts". II Black also called Three 6 Mafia “Triple Bitch Mafia” as Playa Fly did. Lil D, Charlie Mac, and II Black were comin' hard on this hype ass track.
Here are some more lyrics which diss Three 6 Mafia.
II Black for that bangin' shit
'cause nigga we gotta kill you bitch
Flodgin' like a killer
But we know you just a Triple Bitch
Fuck my nigga
How the fuck you figure
We gon' let it slide?
MHV
SPV
SPL and
Riverside
Down to ride on any bitch
Flodgin' like a killer
But we know you just a Triple Bitch
Fuck my nigga
Real niggas, so trick
Watch yo back
Niggas need to wise up
Tryna feel they fuckin' nuts
Screamin' Tear Da Club Up
Big boy you ain't got no guts
Real niggas, so trick
Watch yo back
Niggas need to wise up
Tryna feel they fuckin' nuts
Screamin' Tear Da Club Up
Big boy you ain't got no guts
Deep when we creep
High till we die
Locked till we fuckin drop
Lemonlames talkin' shit
Lil D of Mitchell Heights Veterans also disses Three 6 Mafia. He claims those hoes in Three 6 Mafia run away because they are not real.
[Lil D]
You punk ass niggas straight kill me
Claim to be my brodie but all the time you my enemy
Hearin' what you speak
I be swearin' that you downin' folk
But real niggas never run
From the fuckin' struggle ho
Claimin' you the shit
But ain't 'bout shit
Sayin' what a nigga said
Man we gonna get you bitch
He say, she say
The grass where yo body lay
Conversation rules the nation
Betrayin' will get you sprayed
Smilin faces. They lie. They don't tell the truth.
Are you afraid to meet your death? Nigga, you afraid to meet your death. Razor blade up your asshole. So you done played yourself.
Now it's hard for II Black to live when his hand is on the steel. All that madness on his mind comes from him waking up from a dream he had about the niggas he killed. It is now time for him to do this perfect crime. He brings the gauge and shotgun pump. NAP has TEC-9s. Fake smilin' in his face.
Killin' all his human race with disgrace. Now you wanna take another niggas place. Fuck them drugs that be on the street. II Black will kill you in a heartbeat. Tryna play Black on this track like a fuckin' dog. This is not a dream but a nightmare. Maybe he done robbed 'em all. Watch yourself as you may get bit.
II Black has thought of committing homicides as these lyrics indicate.
Now it's hard for me to live
When my hand is on the steel
Wakin' up from a dream
All these niggas I have killed
All that madness on my mind
Time to do this perfect crime
Bring the gauge
Shotgun pump
NAP has TEC-9s
II Black is creepin' through the hood down in Mitchell Heights. He points and positions a Tre-8 to your face as he takes you for your blow. I thought you hoes knew there ain't no love in this shit. He rolls with the Mitchell Heights feelin' good on that dope and shit. Super tight and is ready for a flight.
Slippin' through the Heights at night. The Mitchell Heights Veterans Posse lays down a lemon lame in Playa Posse style, mane. Takin' over North from a trick because it ain't no thang. They stangin' you lemon hoes and lemon lames. How the fuck you figure?
Who the fucks the busta? Who them niggas with that flodgin' shit? Crenshaw by his fuckin' side. Crime got his fuckin' back clicked with Gangsta Blac. II Black is for that bangin' shit. Down to ride on any bitch. Quick to stang on any trick. Flodgin' like a killer. That's what you get when you are slippin’. Straight down your head and now you’re dead. As for The Mitchell Heights Veterans, they are real niggas. So watch your back. Niggas need to wise up.
Lemon lames be talkin' shit. Don’t test their fuckin' crew. Bitch so when you slippin' they will fuck you up in any place. They don't ever stop. They have no second thoughts about a murder.
You punk ass niggas straight kill Lil D. All this time you claim to be Lil D’s brodie but all the time you were his enemy. He be hearin' what you speak. You be swearin' that you down, folk. Claimin' you the shit but ain't 'bout shit. But real niggas never run from the struggle. Conversation rules the nation. An action of betrayal will get you sprayed. His nig' Tony Bone straight from Mitchell Heights is buckwildin' up on you bitches. Fuck what they talk about. Those hoes wouldn't run they mouth if they were real. Bonnevilles super tight. Lil D in this motherfucker makin' you hoes suffer.
They call me Lil D the Hitman. This snow got Lil D feelin' strange. Lil D just maintains his pimpin'. Crenshaw is about makin' stains. So bustas just have you heard a murder in the third degree. And that type shit hurt the worst. Psychopathic visions be runnin' through Lil D’s mind.
The Mitchell Heights clique clicks with the SPV. If that's not enough they can bring in the RSC and constantly go to war. The Mitchell Heights clique rolls with the BBB. Low key looters gettin' this case. Real Gs drinkin' Hennessey.
Second Clique is up in you bitch. Droppin' bodies in the ditch. Second Clique clicked up with the SPV. MHV and SPV are makin' hoes lay it down. The Heights is so fuckin' deep. Lil Gain with the riot pump. So don't try to front, sucker. Crenshaw gonna buck at you. Read the papers. That's your folks up on the news. Catch the vapors. Smilin' faces all around.
Black Bo up in Funky Town.
Charlie Mac says Mitchell Heights is pimps and hustlers. Keepin' straight to the motherfuckin' trigger because your ass is a phony G. So you 'trayin ass fools bitches gonna get sprayed. Motherfuckers talkin' then ain't his fuckin' friend.
Charlie Mac is rollin with some niggas that’s always strapped with the fuckin' MAC-10 and A to the K. TEC-9 automatic spray because some bodies are gonna lay dead up in the street. G’s are huntin' on the creep. Bitches are frontin'. Trick ass hoes are constantly coming with that phony fuckin' bullshit. Mitchell Heights deep as haters creepin' on you fuckin' hoes. So they crazy for this shit. Bitch, this shit is super tight.
II Black owned the beats on Buck Wildin. He was killing it with his production sound. II Black and Gangsta Blac did most of the rapping. However Gangsta Blac took most of the spotlight when it came to this junt.
