Lil Romeo - Romeo! TV Show (The Season) soundtrack album album review
Lil Romeo - Romeo! TV Show (The Season) soundtrack album contained music that used on the Nickelodeon children’s television show Romeo! which aired from 2003-2007. The album was a pop rap album which used a combination of pop and rap over children’s music. Of course the album has kid friendly lyrics. Myke Diesel produced those hot beats for this album. Master P was the executive producer for this album.
The Romeo Show Theme was the catchy infectious theme song and introduction used during the beginning of each episode. The intoxicating bass lines, extremely loud synths, and rhythmic drum patterns made the song catchy and infectious. Nickleodeon's where Lil Romeo’s at.
Hey ho. Watch it flow. It's time for the Romeo show! Stop what you’re doing because Romeo's on now. Lil Romeo is ready to rumble and mix it like gumbo. He crumbles competition on the Romeo! show. I mean he can't be stopped and will not quit. It's time for the Romeo show where kids have fun. Peer pressure ain't nothin.
Go shawty! It's your birthday! We gonna party like it's your birthday. Simon says stop but Romeo says go. Lil Romeo is the first hip hop kid with his own TV show! Everybody dance then shake it like that. Work it like that. You doin' good in school. If you love Romeo, holla back. Because Nickleodeon's where Lil Romeo’s at.
Bobblehead was the catchy song used on several episodes of this show and was the lead single for his 2004 album Romeoland. Everything about this song from the beats to the synths, horns, and pads along with lyrics screams mid-2000s. You can hear the influence Southern rap, pop rap, and children’s music have on this song. His cousin Lil D raps a verse on the song.
The song is memorable for its catchy lyrics and horns. The chorus is no exception. The catchy lyrics to the chorus which went like this.
[Chorus]
I didn't come to run, I came to make you move
Take it to the floor, and act a fool
Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead
Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead
Now Lil Romeo does use some kid friendly lyrics in the song such as “You got ants in your pants and you need to dance Bounce up and down like a rubberband”
Here are some of the catchy lyrics that were used in the song.
Work ya body, move your feet
Bounce it like a ball, shake it to the beat
Go shorty, it's your birthday
Like you school bell ring on the first day
Move it like a fly girl
You got ants in your pants and you need to dance
Bounce up and down like a rubberband
Lil Romeo didn't come to run. He came to make you move. So take it to the floor and act a fool. Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead.
Romeo’s in the house and the party is pumpin’. The crowd is jumpin’. Everyone is ecstatic. Work your body and move your feet. Bounce it like a ball and shake it to the beat. Go shorty, it's your birthday. Like you school bell ring on the first day. Move it like a fly girl.
Lil D is in here. You know that his wrist glow. If you came to party, shorty, you and Lil D can take it to the floor. If your girl wants to leave, Lil D suggests you let her go. So you better stay in line.
Making moves like a rollercoaster. Lean low then shake them shoulders. But first, you gotta bounce to this. Lil D’s chain so icy even his diamonds got diamonds. Lil D was born to be a soldier and has got a heart of a lion. No Limit don't mess with no fakers. They’ll make you lose your squad like the LA Lakers.
Lil Romeo is just chillin and them girls are partying. He is trying to see if they can move like Indians. You know work it a little bit. Dip it low a little bit like Christina Milian. Lil Romeo is like 50 and Young Buck because he always roll with banks. So you know what’s up.
If you don't like Lil Romeo, then you not with him. But its most likely that he’s got the tank with him all over the globe, He is a coast to coast G. A living legend like Mike and Kobe. If you don't know then don't speak about him. His flow too sick and too hard to fix. You’ll probably need some medical attention for this.
Lil Romeo pays homage and tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. with these lyrics in Verse 1. “Girl you looking cute, you came to dance/I’m like Biggie, baby give me one more chance”
Faith is about how Lil Romeo believes in the Lord’s faith. Faith serves an inspirational pop rap song which tells children to stand strong and keep their faith whenever times are rough.
When times get hard, Lil Romeo puts his head to the sky, gets on his knees, and takes a deep sigh.
Never ask why. Lil Romeo believes in his faith and he’ll will lead him through each day. The Lord’s faith.
His face is solid and strong as a rock. His belief in the Lord is as strong as an ox. He keeps Romeo’s head up right. So he’s gotta give praise. Lil Romeo asks the Lord to keep him off the streets and guide him through this crazy maze called life.
And Lil Romeo never doubts him. But without him Lil Romeo wouldn't be much. That is why he always stay humble. He is thankful for everyday.

The Swinghoppers - Welcome To The Family EP EP review
The Swinghoppers - Welcome To The Family EP from UK-based swing-hop group The Swinghoppers uses a combination of electro swing and hip hop/rap resulting in the fusion of swing-hop. Songs from this EP uses samples from widely known hip hop songs such as Dr. Dre - Still D.R.E. for instance. The EP was released for free download on their website in 2017.
Minnie’s Revenge is The Swinghoppers take and cover of Minnie the Moocher by Cab Calloway with updated modernized electronic production. Jazz meets electronic music on Minnie’s Revenge.
Sharleena Ray plays, acts, and sings the role of Minnie. Minnie explains how men have mistreated her throughout her whole life and how she is fed up with male oppression. So she gets her revenge on them
Well folks, let Offbeat tell you about a dame who’s name was Minnie. Offbeat met her in a bar while he was sipping on whisky. Never had he seen such a good looking chick in a red dress with legs that simply wouldn’t quit. He approached her and said, “Excuse me, Miss. But what’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?” She said, “Gin’s the only thing that can set me free. I hate my man but he just won’t let me leave”
She proceeded to explain she with was a bloke named Smokey who was well known locally for supplying the dope fiends. And that he had a shipment due later that week. That was worth about a cool hundred thousand ($100,000) on the streets. And if she could get the dough, she could arrange a meet up and she could bump him off and split the dope between them. He thought about it briefly. Plus a damsel in distress how could he say no?
Well folks, let Pye tell you about a dame named Minnie. He met her on the streets looking all frail, pale and skinny. He took her in and fed her. Gave her clothes and cheddar. And said a girl like her could do so much better. So now she loves Pye.
She doesn’t even notice when he dallys with other broads. He always put his trust in her. Like the other day when she found him a new customer. Some sucker that she met in a bar she frequented who had 100 large and was looking to spend it. So Minnie convinced him to make an investment. Then came to him and made a suggestion. If Pye got the dope, she could arrange a meet up then we could bump him off and split the dough between them. Pye had brought my knife so this guy can die right. Then by night, he’ll skip town and go live the high life incognito.
In Verse 3, Minnie (Sharleena Ray) explains how men have mistreated her throughout her whole life and how she is fed up with male oppression.
Well folks, let Minnie tell you all about her. Men have done nothing but doubt Sharleena Ray her whole life. They treat her like she is weak because she is a lady. They treat her based on her gender. And when she met these two chumps they were exactly the same. She had it up to here with all the male oppression. So she dreamed up a scheme to teach them a lesson. They took each other out precisely as planned and now she got the dope and the hundred grand ($100,000).
[Verse 3: Sharleena Ray]
Well folks, let Sharleena Ray tell you all about her.
My men have done nothing but doubt Sharleena Ray her whole life
They treat me like I’m weak, because I’m a dame
And when I met these two chumps they were exactly the same
I’ve had it up to here with all the male oppression
So I dreamed up a scheme to teach them a lesson
They took each other out, precisely as planned
And now I got the dope and the hundred grand
Still is a swingers parody of Dr. Dre - Still D.R.E. in electro swing style. Yeah, Swingers are still messing with you. I said it's still Dre. But wait swingers. Before you start complaining and claiming that this is sacred. This track is one of their favorites.
Plus you know the greatest form of flattery available is imitation. Fans will pay homage but haters will be dissing them. Then the analytics show that they're their top listeners. They wanna know Swinghoppers will say next. They say this track’s changed. Nah it's just been updated. So if you ain't up on things, Offbeat is the name. He’s still hopping on stage and still dropping these flames. Still swinging like Tarzan wife-swapping with Jane. Still rocking pinstripes and not chains. Offbeat still loves the original but he thinks that this version's insane. The beats still swing. Swinghoppers are still doing their thing in the style only Swinghoppers can bring.
Swinghoppers are representing all the Swingers all across the globe whether young or old. The Swinghoppers are bringing the heat and still got love for the scene.
Since the last time you heard from Offbeat, he’s made some friends such as Pye and Sharleena. Now he’s rollin' with them. He found Awesome Wells too. And now Swinghoppers have united to bring that brand new sound called swing hop (swing-hop). In the home of acts just like Massive, Banksy, strong cider and bad accents.
It ain't nothing but tunes that crowds know. Another free EP for you to download. And although very generous is how it appears. The truth is, we just couldn't get the samples cleared.
Fans go mad when they hear Swinghoppers spin this track. Suckers wanna be the king, but the Swingpin's back. So if you ain't up on things. Offbeat is still ripping off Dr. Dre with no shame. Still got it wrapped like fajitas. Still ain't tripping. They love to meet fans when they come and see them. Heads are nodding a lot. And these people never want them to stop when it comes to bars. They're like the opposite of Jonathan Ross.
Swing Hop (Bigger Than) explains how The Swinghoppers are bigger than just electro swing and cannot be pigeonholed into one genre of music. They discuss how they combine music genres from 2 different decades to make something better. Because this right here is swing-hop. You're listening to swing-hop. Offbeat explains how he formed The Swinghoppers and their origins.
One thing about music is it can't be pigeon-holed whether it's brand new or it's old. There's more than one era that's gold and The Swinghoppers are combining them. 2 genres decades apart but they are uniting them. And they mix them together to make something better. Even Dead Prez ain't denying it.
But Offbeat didn't want to do this all on his own. So he assembled a team of like-minded friends. The finest musical minds he could find who have proved it time and time again. They’re all established artists in their own right. But aligned are multiplied by 10 (10x).
Everything that you might need, they’ve got. A guy called Pye with a sweet beatbox. But he's not the type that you want to bite. Like the ones on Fleet Street from Sweeney Todd. In a speakeasy doing cheeky shots. Kings of this thing like BB was.
So if you want the sickest spitters record-spinning singing swingers, they will be the bringers of enjoyment. But then, if you're a bitter, twisted critic sitting and dissing. Wishing they were quitting quicker, then you will be disappointed. They’re bigger than hip hop or any other genre of music.
Two golden eras here together and they're standing tall. The kick drum thumps as the tension mounts. The speaker pumps. If your hips gonna bump, then that's what counts. From jump up Hip-Hop to Lindy Hop in the old town hall. So if you like tight spitting and that heavy weight bass with a beatbox rhythm, then you're in the right place. The harmony's pure when Shar's on the case. This isn't a gimmick or a rip off of a hit.
The Swinghoppers always play to win. Getting stages lit. Rotating hits. Because this right here is swing-hop.
Feelin’ Good is about Offbeat being in a cheerful mood.
Offbeat woke up early and the birds are tweeting. Now normally he would return to sleep and wouldn’t even dream of leaving bed. And would need to be dragged out kicking and screaming. But for some reason today is different. He doesn’t know why but he feels energized. Ideas flew into his mind. So he jump out of bed and picks up a pen and writes.
He’s been trying this song a fortnight. But every time, it just comes out poorly. But now the words seem to form perfectly and the song virtually writes itself for him. Within an hour the whole song is finished. But he needs a singer to complete the hook. He ain’t got Nina. So Sharleena’s the right songstress to sing. Birds flying high with the sun in the sky. Leaves drifting on by. It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life for Offbeat and he is feelin’ good. So now you know how he feels.
Offbeat wakes up late midday on a Sunday. His girlfriend taking all of the duvet. He nudges her and she ain’t budging. But she looks so comfy he doesn’t even begrudge it. Offbeat wonders if she is gonna wake up soon. Hunger strikes him. So he leaves the room. She jumps Offbeat and pulls him back under the covers. And before long one thing leads to another, they spend the rest of the day in their PJs.
As they binge on their favourite show.
Now it’s 8 PM and they ain’t even moved. So the place an order for takeaway food. Lying in bed eating pud. Who would’ve thought being so bad could ever feel so good?
Fish in the sea. River running free. Blossoms in the tree. It’s a new life for Offbeat and he is feelin’ good. So now you know how he feels.
It’s night time and Offbeat has got a show to go to. He feels a little nervous. His brain’s telling him all the ways it could go wrong. But his heart knows it won’t do. It doesn’t help that he is stone cold sober. He knows if he only has one Corona that he’ll forget his lyrics and lose his composure. In the hope that this place won’t be complacent.

Sammie - From the Bottom to the Top album review
Sammie - From the Bottom to the Top is one of the lesser known soulful pop albums from the year 2000 despite achieving platinum status. Sammie was singing like a 63 year old man with a soulful tenor at the age of 12 on this album. He had no business singing as a grown man at that age. But nevertheless Sammie was owning it on his debut album.
Sammie explains his rise to success thanks to his record deal on The Bottom. Sammie has got 'em from the bottom to the top with his song The Bottom.
Sammie was up in the hood down at his boy's house. It was the summer time when everyone would hang out. They had the best of times down at the corner store. Yelling bingo at every car that came by.
Sammie knew that he had this dream and wanted them to believe that he was gonna make it. It happened so fast he can't believe it at last. Sammie headed to the ATL just to hear the sound. He hooked up with Dallas Austin and he had a record planned. Then JT Money said he would put Miami down. Sammie has got 'em from the bottom to the top.
JT Money and Sammie from the city where the girls and the temperature stay hot. They come from the city where the bass drop. That bottom where that bass game started and the girls shake their thing whole-hearted. Miami, Florida is the place to go because of the beaches. Miami is the Sunshine City that has got everything.
Old school on the fools and the chumps. Let it out playing old school funk. Big Sammie put it down for the bottom. Fly honeys want money. What'cha know about the Miami heat huh? About how they shoot or what all that street? A place where all the stuff retreat. Where they move to an up tempo beat. Never sleep. You know this thing don't stop. Coming from the bottom straight to the top.
Sammie brags about all the things he likes about this girl he has his eyes set on with the song I Like It. Sammie was singing like a 63 year old man with a soulful tenor over pop beats and an urban sound on I Like It.
Sammie wishes he could spend time with the girl he loves each and every day. Give her all his love. All of his love and his emotions are the things that's got him open. He doesn't know what it takes to let her know she is his girl. Even when then people say they won't stay around. If they only knew that they were meant to be together. There's no better thing than this love. That's why Sammie writes her love letters. He likes the way she look at him. He likes the time they spend together. He likes what they have grown to be.
Sometimes he wants be the one she is checking for. Love is nothin' but the time it takes to say, "I'm on your mind". He wants her to get a little time away to go to the movies on a Saturday with him.
Sammie sings about the crazy things he does for love on Crazy Things I Do. The crazy things Sammie does for love is putting his girl in the flyest gear, call her on the phone, send her “I love you” cards, and give her credit cards.
Crazy Things I Do is one of those songs that will have you feeling good some type of way due to those fresh pop beats and sound. Crazy Things I Do is one of those songs that will have you feeling good some type of way. The song has that innocent feeling and coming of age vibe. Now what could be fresher than that? The song uses a mixed combination of pop and soul.
Sammie was singing like a 63 year old man with a soulful tenor over pop beats and an urban sound on Crazy Things I Do. He had no business singing like that. Especially at that age.
Now some of you pop fans might remember the lyrics to the chorus which went like this.
I put you in the flyest gear, making sure you're tight
Perpertrating, making you think everything's alright
Call you on my cell phone baby even on peak time
The crazy things I do for love
Flossin' baby acting like the money ain't a thing
Only if you promise girl that you will try no game
Kiss me girl and I'll spend every dollar to my name
The crazy things I do for love
Sammie will put her in the flyest gear making sure she is tight. Perpetrating by making her think everything's alright. He will call his girl you on his cell phone baby even on peak time. (That’s going to be one expensive phone bill.) Sammie is flossin' and acting like the money ain't a thing. He’ll spend every dollar to his name. That is only if his girl promises to not play any games on him. The crazy things Sammie does for love.
Hanging out and spending time with his girl are his daily plans. Anything his girl wants. He’ll take her to the movies. Send her “I love you” cards. He’ll also take her to the shopping mall. Nothing is ever too much for/when it comes to his girl. Sammie knows he can't afford it. (Who could? Especially given the state of the economy.)
He wants her with him in the park having fun. That’s whats up. His girl has got to look good. Roses are something he gives her because he cares. Sammie tells his girl, “I’ll be there. Cross my heart. I swear. I know I can't afford it, baby. But I'll do the best I can, lady. You’re my everything one day with my ring. I'll do all for you, baby.”
The interlude When I Grow Up (Interlude) was pretty woke for 2000. Sammie’s questions environmental justice because global warming was an evolving issue back in 2000 and still is to this day.
[Sammie:]
When I grow up
I wonder if people will be more afraid
To cry than they are to die
Will I be able to see a rainbow
In a smog-filled sky?
Will there be any trees alive?
If not, how will the planet survive?
Will the Internet have a web-site at
www.lifetimeairsupply?
Here are some of the other questions Sammie wrote in his essay for this interlude. This just shows you how woke Sammie was.
When I grow up
Will the existence of dolphins and whales
Just be a story I tell?
When I grow up
If I got bored and had nothing to do
And me and my son built a canoe
Would water that used to be blue
Be so polluted it would give us the flu?
Will adults be the hammer and nail?
Will schools be next door to jails?
Will the truth be illegal to sell?
When I grow up
Will anyone be on the news
For anything besides killing?
Will those drug dealers still
Be standing in front of my building?
Will they ever learn how to love?
Or stay afraid of the feeling?
Will TV and music videos
Still raise America's children?
Will students go home from school
In a bulletproof bus?
When Sammie grows up, he wonders if people will be more afraid to cry than they are to die. Will he be able to see a rainbow In a smog-filled sky? Will there be any trees alive? If not, how will the planet survive? Will the Internet have a web-site at www.lifetimeairsupply? Will the existence of dolphins and whales just be a story he tells?
If Sammie got bored and had nothing to do and him and his son built a canoe, would water that used to be blue be so polluted it would give us the flu? Will Sammie have to be like you? Letting money make a decision for everything that he does?
Will schools be next door to jails? Will the truth be illegal to sell? Will anyone be on the news for anything besides killing? Will those drug dealers still be standing in front of my building? Will they ever learn how to love? Or stay afraid of the feeling? Will TV and music videos still raise America's children?
Can’t Let Go is about this girl Sammie cannot seem to let go of.
Sammie cannot seem to let go of this girl. This girl has Sammie wrapped around her finger. He can't let go. She’s tight and pretty and all. You know what I mean.
She gave Sammie her phone number. She told Sammie call her after the bus stop. Sammie knew that he would love her even then. She’s got his head wide open. She doesn't go hang out with friends. He never thought a girl would take him.
He can't believe she had that effect on him. But whenever she's with Sammie he is so happy because even if he did want to stop nothing in the world could ever top the way he feels, Don't you know Sammie can't let go? He won't let go. He sees roses when he is with. She brings the sunshine to a cloudy day.
Count is about Sammie’s leaving without saying goodbye. Leaving without saying goodbye can be extremely sad for someone. This is one of those “You didn't have to leave me baby” songs.
Sammie called her today No one picked up the phone. He ran to her home as fast as he could.
She was gone when he arrived. Much to his surprise. One of the neighbors informed Sammie that she moved away.
How could she not tell Sammie and leave him this way with no goodbyes and crying eyes. Sammie wishes she would have stayed so he can count every second and every minute that she was away from her. He just can't take it.
Things won't be the same. He’ll be searching for her for the rest of his life. There are lessons in love. Sammie learned his first lesson in love. It was so innocent. But he can't take no more heartache. He just can't take the fact that she is away from him.
