Caro Emerald – Live single review
Caro Emerald – Live is one
of the best live singles to date. This digital live single has that
bossa nova sound performed by a big band and Caro Emerald herself. The
single was released as a free iTunes download on the 9th day of Apple's
12 Days Of Christmas. Fans of jazz will enjoy this single. Some of the
best jazz from New York City, New York.
My 2 Cents is about
information Caro dishes about on a gentleman who is impossible to get
with. She gives her two cents about this gentleman.
This
gentleman. He's like a whip hat doesn't crack. You take a sip and you're
on your back. Those big blue eyes are hard to reach. This gentleman is
so impossible. It makes you meek like a guitar that cries for days and
seduces you in a thousand ways. You feel his strings. Now you're uptight
from the first night. It makes any girl and lady weaken at his sight
because he's not undercover. He walks past his lovers. Other people know
there's no defense. There is no evidence because he creates an illusion
that leads to confusion and you give up your common sense. Well that's
Caro’s two cents about this gentleman.
He's like a wall that's
made of steel. He is like a wall that is too cold to touch. There is not
much to feel. His sullen smile he shares with few. The tricks of the
trade he's glad to lose. He disappears into thin air. He gives one last
look and a frozen leer. Your heart is good as gone. Love's the TV set
that says there's nothing on.
There's no PI (private
investigator) with a promise of a glint. All the cores and private
investigators dissipate when there are no fingerprints. Don't retrace
your steps because he's staring right at you. A one man casino. If you
spin the wheel, you lose. Because he's not undercover. He walks past his
lovers. Other people know there's no defense. There is no evidence
because he creates an illusion that leads to confusion and you give up
your common sense. Well that's Caro’s two cents about this gentleman.
Caro Emerald shows deep love, admiration, and affection to a gentleman who has she fallen in love with on I Belong To You.
Under
the stars the shines and glistens one light to the whispers of the
night. When skies are black and full of despair, Caro asked the sun to
tell the moon that two of them are there. The afterglow that's down
below is when she sees his smile. Forever is a word that cries that Caro
belongs to him. Caro belongs to the man she loves and admires.
That endless nights are far away.
Caro
sees he doesn't look down and now she feel the truth. They overlooked
as ocean deep. But now this river that they’re swimming through is
promises we keep. There is no heart that chance will break. Nothing else
could ever stop the now. There are no inhibitions or unexpected
interruptions in his ways. She’ll let him ask for every turn.

Caro Emerald – A Night Like This single review
Caro
Emerald – A Night Like This is one of the lesser known electro singles
from 2009. This vinyl single has that bossa nova sound backed with that
laid back lounge sound and vibe performed by a big band and Caro Emerald
herself. Fans of jazz will enjoy this single. Some of the best jazz
from New York City, New York and The Netherlands.
Caro looks
for a man to make her night feel complete on A Night Like This. However
she feels as her night is incomplete. Here A Night Like This uses Latin
salsa styled beats over lounge jazz and bossanova.
From where
you are, you see the smoke start to arise where they play cards. And you
walk over, softly moving past the guards. The stakes are getting
higher. You can feel it in your heart. He calls your bluff. He is the
ace. You never thought he'd play that much. And now it's more than all
these cards you want to touch. You'll never know if winning this could
really be enough.
Caro has never dreamed it. Have you ever
dreamed a night like this? She cannot believe it. She may never see a
night like this. When everything you think is incomplete starts
happening when you are cheek to cheek. Could you ever dream it? She has
never dreamed a night like this. This is one of those surrealistic
magical nights. Take a look beyond the moon you'll see the stars. And
when you look around you know the room by heart.
How many times
has Caro been waiting by the door to hear these chimes to hear that
someone debonair has just arrived? And how many times has Caro opened up
to see my world before her eyes? That silhouette creates an image and a
night she can't forget. The night has the scent of something special.
She can’t resist temptation. Caro walks away and suddenly it seems she
is not alone. He stands in front of her. Caro stops before he goes on.
Stuck
is based on Caro Emerald’s persona of a woman who married a man after
being promised jewelry and perfume and all sorts of lavish gifts during
their courtship, but he couldn’t deliver, and she feels stuck (hence the
title) in a marriage that she is bored in and no longer desires.
However, she can’t deny that they have a chemistry, and she realises
that she loves him anyway at the end of the song.
Caro closes her
eyes and dreams about a sunny holiday. She wishes that she was beaching
down on Saint Tropez or sitting in the lobby at the fabulous 'Pierre'
with diamonds on her fingers and not a single care. Instead she is on
the avenue where nobody goes with fields of green that wilted like a
last summer rose Some people call it paradise but she calls it pain.
He
promised her a motorcade and endless perfume. A palace in Geneva with a
perfect view and dreams painted yellow like the color of gold. And dine
with kings and queens 'till the food gets cold. This dream is now a
comedy she doesn't wanna see. Some people call it laughter, but she call
it pain. Caro knows they have a chemistry which is a heavenly
combination.

Indigo Swing - Indigo Swing album review
Indigo
Swing - Indigo Swing is one of the lesser known jazz albums from 1994
from the swing revival movement. The album has everything from love
songs to dance songs for the nightclub. Not much data sonification was
used on the album since this was a jazz album filled with swing jazz.
Some of the songs use spoken word bits like in a radio drama like Swing
lover for example.
Swing lover is a beautiful upbeat swing
jazz song. The song serves as a wake up call for men to comfort their
women and be there for them.
If you find you've been neglecting
that someone you call your own and your phone calls aren't connecting
when you know she should be home. Brother, you gotta stop your rambling.
She can't love a rollin' stone. What she really cares about is that
she's all alone. Men, stay at home with your baby alone. Try to be still
every once in a while.
The Blue Suit Boogie song is a love
song where a lady dumps her gentleman and tells him she is no longer his
lover and they are through with their relationship. Their memories of
them dancing are shared throughout the song. Swing jazz meets blues
style boogie pop on Blue Suit Boogie.
A gentleman remembers the
night a lady he was dating that told him they were through and she was
no longer his. He did not belong to her. She said, "I'm leavin' town.
I’m puttin' you down. 'Goin back to Memphis with the new boy I found.
But honey, you sure look cute in your fine blue gabardine suit." She was
leaving town and going back to Memphis, Tennessee with the new boy she
found. That is the reason this lady left the gentleman.
This
gentleman remembers the day she took his by the hand. She said that she
was his. This lady told the gentleman, "I'm gonna let you be my man. Get
your money, honey I know what to do.
Today I saw the perfect blue
color for you. And honey, you'll look so cute in your brand new
gabardine suit." Both of them went jumpin' and-a-jivin' across the
floor. Reelin' and-a-rockin' til a quarter to 4 AM swinging across the
floor. Just her and him swinging in his brand new blue gabardine suit.
It's
been 6 months and he hasn't gone swingin' at all. He spends his nights
cryin' while his blue gabardine suit hangs in the hall.
But he
woke up this morning with a sweet smile on my face. This gentleman
thinks his broken heart will finally find a resting place because the
girl he met today is so reet petite. He met a petite woman with girlish
features. So sweet and lovely. And light on her feet. She says, "Honey,
you sure look cute in your fine blue gabardine suit." Both of them went
jumpin' and-a-jivin' across the floor. Reelin' and-a-rockin' til a
quarter to 4 AM swinging across the floor. Just her and him swinging in
his brand new blue gabardine suit.
So Far Away From Me is a
sad heartbreaking mournful swing jazz song with a bit of modern creative
elements used. The song discusses how he would like to reach out and
touch his lady but she is so far away from him due to being located a
distance several miles away. They’re full of good intentions but
sometimes some time apart will do good in a situation like this.
Lately
this gentleman started dreaming of things that him and his lover could
be when they are lying here together. But she is so far away from him.
It's time that this gentleman should tell her how her beauty sets him
free. He could reach right out and touch her. But she is so far away
from him.
They were full of good intentions. Someone's wrong and
someone's right. But he can't get used to coming home to her frozen
heart at night. He can't get used to coming home to a stranger he once
knew. If David slew the lion and Moses split the sea, won’t she tell him
how she seem so near but so far away from him?
They’re full of
good intentions and some time apart will do. He’ll try to make her
happy. But he is sad as he could be while she is so far away from him.

Evan Ziporyn - Amok! / Tire Fire album review
Evan
Ziporyn - Amok! / Tire Fire is a modern classical music album which
uses uncommon time signatures such as 8|8, 9|4, and 2|4. The ritualistic
and cryptic sounding classical music album is very surreal sounding.
The album uses conducted improvisation which is collective improvisation
directed by a conductor. Overall the album falls in the subgenre of
microtonal classical.

Fred Lowery - Estrellita (My Little Star) / Whispering single review
Fred
Lowery - Estrellita (My Little Star) / Whispering is one of the
beautiful siffleur shellac singles with a vaudeville sound incorporated
with jazz. Whenever people mention Fred Lowery, they never mention this
single. The single uses conducted improvisation which is collective
improvisation directed by a conductor. Notice how the instrumentation
has been arranged perfectly. There is a bit of indeterminacy used.

Pokey LaFarge And The South City Three - Middle of Everywhere album review
Pokey
LaFarge And The South City Three - Middle of Everywhere is an ambient
Americana country sounding album. They look Steampunk right down to the
last shoe button. They became large and in charge with this album. A bit
of country boogie is added to the mix. This is ASMR for country music
fans some sort of way.
Ain’t The Same tells the story of a
man telling his lady how she should make a change even though he himself
has skeletons in his closet.
This man tells his lady how she
should and ought to make a change even though he himself has got
skeletons in his closet. She once had a demon but lost it. Now what he’s
got and what she’s got ain’t the same. He was living free while she was
busy chained down. He’s seen the world twice while she was in school.
They both want and need each other.
Mississippi Girl explained why Pokey LaFarge likes girls in/from Mississippi girls.
Pokey
LaFarge plays music all over the world. So you know he meets plenty of
girls. But a lot of them don’t like to dance. Some of them won’t even
give a guy a chance. But way down south where the girls are sweet. They
always got a beat steppin’ in their feet. Down in Mississippi. He never
hesitates to spin one around. He’s gonna dance all night with a
Mississippi Girl.
Long brown curls get stuck in your face while
she’s spinning all around the place with her big ole hips and big ole
legs never make a man too proud to beg. She wears long brown boots and a
short sun dress. She never makes a man too proud to beg. That will turn
any man into a heavin’ mess because there’s nothing better than a woman
who’s kind and will get on the floor.
Good Country Girls
explained why Pokey LaFarge liked good country girls from the good old
countryside. The song is similar to the mood and tone of Mississippi
Girl. Good Country Girls and Mississippi Girl have many similarities to
each other.
Wintertime, springtime, summertime, and fall.
There’s one thing that Pokey likes most of all which is good country
girl. The seasons change but Pokey’s love for good country girls stays
the same.
There are differences between a country girl and a city
girl. You can tell a country girl from the one in town. If she says
hello when you walk in the door, she’s a good country girl. In the
summertime when the weather is fine, the country girls are picking
peaches. Doing their best in a flowered dress while the city girls soak
up sun on the beaches. You don’t need fortune. You don’t need fame. A
country girl will love you just the same. You don’t money to get some
honey from good country girls.
Mississippi, Alabama, and
Tennessee have the prettiest girls that Pokey has ever seen. New York
City ain’t got nothing on these good country girls.
He ain’t got a
worry because there’s no one around. He feels good and you know that he
should with his good country girls in the summertime when the weather
is fine.

Stephen Lynch - The Craig Machine album review
Stephen
Lynch - The Craig Machine is a sketch comedy album with super
provocative humor you would find and hear on the Comedy Central channel.
Now Stephen Lynch is no stranger to provocative and offensive humor. He
has been making offensive jokes with provocative humor for years. A bit
of jazz is thrown on songs such as Pierre and Craig. Country, folk, and
jazz meet sketch comedy on this album.
Whittlin' Man is a
fast paced guitar driven folk pop ballad with a jazzy touch about a wood
carver named Whittlin' Man. Now that fast paced guitar is what gives
the song an edge of folk pop. The high bass is what gives the song a
jazzy touch. However you can hardly hear the bass though.
In the
woods of Northern Michigan is where he made his home. He didn't ask
much from the world. He just wanted to be alone. Got his first real
blade at 13. That's when it all began. Soon the creatures of the forest
called him Whittlin' Man.
He whittle all day and he whittle all
night. One thing he did was whittle everything in sight. He whittled on
a stick and he whittled on a shoe. And if you come too close he gonna
whittle you too. Keep a safe distance if you can because you're never
safe around Whittlin' Man.
His trusty knife gave him the ability
to carve wood. He whittled out a house, a car, and he whittled himself a
wife. He whittled out 4 kids, a swimming pool, and a big Lear jet. And
so he wouldn't miss Saved By The Bell, he whittled a TV set. He whittled
if it's light and he whittled if it's dark. And if Noah were around
well he'd whittle him an ark. He can whittle something new and he can
whittle something old. He can whittle something hot and he can whittle
something rather chilly.
Some say Whittlin' Man's a genius.
Others say he's just dumb. He's whittled off a foot, an ear, three
fingers, and his left thumb. But that won't stop him. He'll whittle
through thick and thin. And once he's whittled everything he'll just
whittle it all again.
Pierre is the French themed adult
sketch comedy song where Stephen plays the role of a man named “Pierre”
as well as his old writing partner from college, Jeff. Stephen plays
triple role of characters int he song including himself. This is one of
the songs on the album that revolves around the educational concept of
college. A bit of jazz is thrown in the piano added.
The song
Pierre is about a homeless man who is French with French ancestry in his
background and lineage. Jeff gave Stephen the idea to write about since
Jeff bet Stephen that he could name a subject that Stephen can’t write a
song about. Stephen decides to take Jeff’s idea on. However Stephen’s
story is so tiresome. The audience laughs at Stephen’s terrible French
accent.
Stephen got a call from his old writing partner from
college, Jeff. They were drinking and talking to each other on the
phone. Jeff was saying, “You know, I bet you I can name a subject that
you can’t write a song about.” Stephen said, “Alright, fucker. Let’s
hear it. What you got?” Jeff said, “How about a homeless guy?” Stephen
said. “ Easy.” And he said “Who is French” Stephen replies, “Let’s give
it a shot.” If this doesn’t go over then Stephen will owe Jeff a lot of
money
Back in France, Pierre was rich as they come. But for
whatever the reason(s) may be or may have been, he lost all his wealth
and his good mental health. Now he lives with the filth and the scum.
Pierre is the only French bum in New York City, New York. When he opens
his Boone’s Farm he still sniffs the cork. So have you a quarter. He’s
begging you. Pierre has to have wine with his government cheese. He
really should bid you adieu.
Wine and Cheese is a common
combination yet here Stephen is making a play on the term “Government
Cheese” which is slang for a welfare payment from the government.
Mixer
At Delta Chi is a provocative adult themed sketch comedy song where
Stephen Lynch plays the role of a horny university professor at Delta
Chi University/Delta Chi College who is the bad professor. A tenured
titty caresser. He has sex with his students.
It's college time
again. September's almost here. Professor Stephen Lynch is hanging with
freshman girls at a frat party with kegs of beer. He sees a girl he is
wanting at a mixer at Delta Chi University. They take some Oxycontin.
Dave Matthews is getting high. Then as he undresses her and starts his
stimulus, she says, “But wait, professor. This wasn't on the syllabus.”
Stephen
tutors her in his apartment. Their tutoring session turns into a slow
dance. Then he asks her, “Hey, baby, what’s your minor? Got your major
in my pants.” He loves her student body. She wants a better grade. He
says, "If you roll over, I’ll throw in financial aid. I hope you boned
up for your midterm. If you want, I can help you cram. Don’t give a shit
about the essay test. So let’s skip it and get to the oral exam."
A
minor is a set of courses that a student takes too complement or
somehow enhance the value of his or her major. The major he is referring
to is his penis. He is getting a boner. Stephen is making a sexual
innuendo about cramming his private parts into her private parts.
Lullaby
is a not so sweet or innocent song which pokes fun at the concept of
divorce in a provocative manner. The humor is edgy and cringeworthy.
Touchy subjects such as divorce, pornography, and pedophilia are
mentioned throughout the song.
Hush little girl sweet baby don't
cry tonight. Daddy is here and he'll sing you a soft lullaby tonight.
Why can't it all be like it was before? How can I explain why Mommy's
not here anymore? Because Daddy likes porno and $10 dollar whores. Daddy
gets wasted and robs liquor stores. Daddy likes rubbing against little
boys on the bus. I think that's why Mommy left us.
Hush little
girl. There is no reason to fret tonight. Don't mind the smoke. Daddy
just wants to forget tonight. Soon it will all be like it was before.
Any minute she will through that front door. But daddy plays poker and
drinks lots of beer. Then he wants sex that involves Mommy's rear. Daddy
has soars on his naughty parts oozing with pus. I think Mommy left us.
Please
don't cry. I swear I'll try to be here by your side. Right after Daddy
gets home from the bar, visits his bookee, and steals a new car. He'll
drive to the strip club. And if daddy plays his cards right, he'll bring
home your new mommy tonight.
Halloween is a Stephen’s weird
quirky take on the day of Halloween. This is one of the darker songs
next to Craig and Beelz. This one’s weird because Stephen only plays it
once a year which is on the day of Halloween. Scary.
Stephen is
thinking of all the cool creatures that he will meet on this nightGhosts
and goblins and witches roaming the streets in moonlight. Bowls of
candy and goodies delicious and waiting in store. The sound of cute
little footsteps as they approach his front door.
Letting the
children inside to drink beers. Razor blades hidden in 3 Musketeers.
Screams from the basement of kids begging to be set free. Tightening the
clamps that are holding their little heads so tight. He puts his lips
to their ears as he whispers “Please, don’t fight.” “I promise I’ll let
you go home if you swear not to tell a soul. Well I’ll just untie these.
I’m kidding now where is my chainsaw. Let’s rock and roll.” Cruel irony
is what Halloween means to Stephen.

High Step Society - Champagne Dreams album review
High
Step Society - Champagne Dreams is an album that captures the spirit of
the Jazz Age and launching it a century forward to the 21st century in
2021. That is part of their classy jazz movement as a band. This dynamic
band is bringing jazz back to the party, where it belongs. The vocalist
sings in close harmony. All of their songs are classy jazz songs.
Champagne
Dreams is a classy swing jazz song about a classy lady who is drunk
because her beau has got her flying high. Somehow she manages to dance
along with her beau. The song uses filtered electronically processed
production as some of the instrumentation has reductionism and is
partially muffled.
A classy lady is drunk because her beau has
got her flying high. Her feet don’t even touch the ground any more. She
receives tipsy kisses every night. In the day she craves her beau deep
inside.
She is dizzy doubled in her dancing shoes from all the
champagne bubbles and bright lights. Yet she feels the beat in her
shoes. She feels the beat in the sheets where thy lie. Her beau has got
her walking lines on a tipsy tightrope on her twinkle toes. Thought
police are issuing fines for the things that she sees in her mind. Could
it be a dream? The salt and steam make her feel funny. She didn’t plan
to fall in love. Won't he suit her fancy?
His double dark and
stormy sultry eyеs are what has gotten her flying high. Tipsy kisses and
red wine are what has gotten her flying high too. In the day she craves
her beau deep inside. She is dancing soft and steady in her favorite
dress. She is blinded the champagne dreams and warm streetlights.
High
Step Society went on a midnight creep with their song Moonlight Creep.
High Step Society takes the worries out of life and everyday pressures
with this song of theirs. The song was a secret to temporary relief.
Tell
High Step Society about pleasure when there’s no relief from your pain.
Tell me about the bad weather when I’m feeling as warm as the Amazon
rain. Give High Step Society your cold and your down hearted because
they’ve got a secret to temporary relief.
Swing their way if
your woman’s unhappy or if you’re out on the town. Howling at the moon.
Now you’re caught up in the moment. A little bit boozy. Your worries are
laid to rest. Mind these lips. They’ll make you a promise that the
whiskey tastes bettеr at the cabaret. Trust me. They’ll lead the way. So
pay attention.

Ingrid Lucia & The Flying Neutrinos - Hotel Child album review
Ingrid
Lucia & The Flying Neutrinos - Hotel Child is one of the more
sophisticated swing revival album from the year 2000. The style of the
songwriting used tells a story. These traditional jazz standards are
sweet and sassy but not provocative with the exception of the song
Violent Love. The album stays to the swing revival sound as evidenced in
songs such as Mr. Zoot Suit, After Hours, and Baby's Making Duck.
Mr. Zoot Suit is about a Hispanic man named Mr. Zoot Suit who is a great dancer.
This
man is a great dancer. He's got great big feet. He's jumping to the
beat. He's been dancing in the street. Mr. Zoot Suit is dressed so fine
and has got lots of loot. We like to call him Mr. Zoot Suit.
Mr.
Zoot Suit drives a great big car and smokes a big cigar. Mr. Zoot Suit
looks like a king and acts like a star. He's got purple suspenders, a
yellow tie, and a zoot suit. He's got all those hats and funky spats. He
is the hippest cat who can't be beat. Wherever he goes he turns up the
heat.
When we see him drive by he goes, "Toot, toot" We all
shout, When we see him drive by we shout, "Hey, Mr. Zoot Suit!" So when
you see him drive by with that big cheroot, don't forget to shout, "Hey,
Mr. Zoot Suit!"
Violent Love is a provocative swing revival
song laced with that swing jazz soundscape but somewhat rather violent.
Violence is the theme for this swing revival song. The song is about how
Ingrid wants to make violent love (violent sexual intercourse) to/with
her man that she is sleeping with.
Ingrid wants to make violent
love to her man that she is sleeping with by that moon above. She wants
to kiss him every night. She wants to squeeze and hold him tight
throughout the night. However Ingrid doesn't want it to be frantic and
she don't want to cramp his style. But he has been driving her into a
panic. He is driving Ingrid wild.
Baby's Making Duck is about
people spreading rumors about having love affairs and sexual
intercourse with each other. Names got thrown are around and feels
before reals.
Now Joe got it from Eddie who said he'd heard from
Ned that Jimmy's got a girl who’s a big hearted tart. (She's a big
hearted tart.) So he keeps her fetid while she keeps him fed. And why do
you think Johnny's got a gold ring and new clothes? He preens and
struts. He's cock of the walk. Well, go ask Johnny. I'll bet he knows!
As far as I remember I've never had much luck but history will shine my
shoes when Baby's Making Duck. This is the part of the song where rumors
were spread.
Sally's down from Allentown. She's been about Ned
says a slap might turn her on but it could take a tickle to turn her
out. Johnny spied on Sheila in the girlie shows (peep shows). And she's
been seen kicking that gong around as long as I remember. I’ve never had
much luck but I will live high on the hog when baby's making duck.
Ingrid discussed and sung about how love and romance were coming back on the song called Love Is Coming Back.
Ingrid
thinks that love is coming back. She also thinks romance is on the rise
all across the world. All the boys and girls are making eyes.
Everybody's taking walks. They're holding hands and having long talks.
This is something gentle and kind that's the turn of mind.
Ingrid
tells gentlemen to open the door for a lady, light her cigarette, and
say she looks nice. She won't be bored when you act like a gentlemen.
Gentlemen, she'll never ignore you. She'll fall like apples. You’ll see
what you get. All the boys will realize love is very civilized. You know
that romance is on the rise.

Harlequin Jones - Overflow album review
Harlequin
Jones - Overflow is one of the darker and moodier steampunk albums in
existence. Loast Cause and Home To Call Home are some of the darkest
songs on the album. Musique concrète is used in some of the songs. Not
many people know this album even exists. A fusion of rock, jazz, and
cabaret music is used. The grim esoteric Loast Cause is the standout
track.
Loast Cause is about a girl who is a lost cause due
to her drug addiction and her many problems which causes her to be a
dysfunctional person. She’s a lost cause basically.
Give up on
that girl with her knees where her eyes should be Surely the bathroom
floor’s not that inviting. That mouse girl mess with her legs to her
chest. Leaving big black stains on the lace of her dress. Leaving big
black stains down the side of her face. She's a waste of sperm and eggs.
She’s a lost cause.
She's submissive. Dominate her. She's a
tool. Take your hate out on her. It's all she deserves. There's no love
songs here. Just sex and empty bottles. Her life is just sexual
intercourse with other men and addiction to drugs.
This girl has
been living off and nicotine. Caffeine is what she uses to get through
the day. Ginger ale too. She uses drugs such as ephedrine, adrenaline,
taurine, amphetamines, cocaine, Xanax, Vicodin, Adderall, hot wax,
Menthol, alcohol, Chestfields, Dramamine, Lucky Strikes, and laxatives.
Cocaine and razor blades. Endorphins seeping through her veins. She
seeks cheap thrills and Chestfields. That is how she is trying to kill
off how it feels.
Blackouts and strange beds are another
disturbing facet of her life. She’s lost her head and is underfed. She’s
a lost cause. It’s a lost cause to care.
Home to Call Home
is the song that spoke to all the social outcasts in the world.
Especially those trying to find their place in the world. The song uses a
conversational tone. The song showed the harsh realities of isolation.
It's
time for a change before we waste away. So we walk together
to somewhere where it's better. Holding on now more than ever. Devote
all that yo know yo grow and move on. All we need's a home to call home.
It takes respect to get respect. You need some confidence.

Sunday Driver - In the City of Dreadful Night album review
Sunday
Driver - In the City of Dreadful Night is a steampunk album inspired by
Victorian London with a richly textured fusion of Indian (Hindustani
music) and Western sounds. This unique album brings some diverse
influences to the forefront of music. The United Kingdom meets the
country of India on this album. Black Spider and Bakul Bagan Road are
the standout tracks.
Black Spider explains the dangers and mischievous nature of an arachnid creature known as a female black spider.
What's
that sound? Don't turn around. Something is coming our way out of the
dark. Here comes the black spider. Feel the rage inside her. She'll spin
a web until you can't get out. She will make a thousand little babies
to scurry about. Slowly but surely. You better send everyone you love a
long way from here.
She knows your name. Everyone knows her game.
You'll never get that far out of the dark. How will it size you up?
Prying, probing fat fingers groping every inch of the way. Look at her
go. Enjoy the show until you fall from up high. It's a long way down
from here. We will be fine until the arachnid descends. I know she'll
win in the end. Stand in line. Step in time.
Bakul Bagan Road
is one of the songs on the album which uses Indian sounds from Indian
classical music. The sitar used makes the song very ethnic, soothing,
and psychedelic. Bakul Bagan Road was inspired by Bakul Bagan,
Bhowanipore. A locality in Kolkata City.
Those stars in the
distance that shine on our lives. Just sitting and wondering as worlds
go by. When the moon glows white, those stars in the distance shine
bright on our lives and light Bakul Bagan Road.
Spindrift is
one of the stranger songs on the album with eerie instrumentation that
is surprisingly calming. This is one of the more subtle downtempo songs
of the album which calms the mood of the entire album down. It's all
about the spindrift.
There is a strange kind of panic in the air.
All the strange faces in all the strange places. Twisting around and
around. Taking hold. Stripping bare. Running wild, unbound. It's all
about the spindrift. Stop hiding in the spindrift.
