Sinister - Mobbin 4 Life album review

Sinister - Mobbin 4 Life was one of the most overlooked gangsta rap albums from 1994 out of Los Angeles, California. This album is basically the soundtrack of gangsta rap for Los Angeles during the 1990s. Preferably the South Central area. The album has songs that tell the tales of dark grim street life. Sadly this album got overlooked due to the popularity of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Sinister being signed to the same distributor and record label as they are/were did not help.

Ya Get Mobbed On explains how Sinister robs people using guns. Sinister was known for mobbing on people in the South Central area. He was a crazy motherfucker with a gun in his younger days. This is one crazy gangsta rap track.

You are getting mobbed on by a crazy motherfucker with a gun! That crazy motherfucker with a gun is Sinister. Sinister claimed the 88th Street and 89th Street cliques that fell under Neighborhood Family Bloods/Neighborhood Family Swan Bloods (NHFB). The 88 Mobsters were a rap group from 88th Street that Sinister was also a part of. He was puttin' 88th Street to South Central on the motherfuckin' map.

He is glad to know you but he will be quick to rob you. Sinister is always strapped with a tech or a mac in case a nigga ties to trip or get caught slipping off guard. Sinister was never was to be a gentlemen. All he wears is khaki suites and Pendleton’s. Sinister doesn't like to fuck around because when some punk fools flex, he likes to buck em down to the ground with the sounds of his mac-10. He’s got the infrared beam straight locked in.

Double 8 Street Mobsters are peelin' niggas domes because the Mob Gang is Stone Gon'. Evil got the pump incase shit pops. Bass layin' in the cut with the .40 Glock ready to dump on you punk ass niggas. Mobbin' all in ya face. Fuck the rest. Sinister was a mobster and was known as the South Central Grim Reaper.

Life of a Sinner was a gangsta rap song which described the lifestyle of an inner city gangster (gangsta) from Los Angeles, California. Life of a Sinner described the every day life of an inner city gangster as well as chronicling Sinister’s daily life. The song is gangsta rap at its finest and is one of the best songs on the album. The bells make the song sound harmonious and mournful at the same time. That is how those bells evoke such raw emotion.

Waking up was the first task of the day. Getting up from bed is difficult. This leaves Sinister in a bad mood, knowing he lives a risky lifestyle. He doesn't know why but he just feels this way. Because the life that he leads is treacherous.

He thinks he’ll go out and jack for a Lexus or something today. Maybe do a little bumpin. Or go out and kick it at a party that's jumpin. Naw, fuck it. He decides instead to get a fat sack of that chronic and kick it with the homie Fat Rat.

Now Sinister is on a mission for a sack of pot. He hopped in his Regal and headed for the bus spot where the bus stop was. From there he went to a house that looked like it was damn near vacant with no occupants and bought a sack from the Jamaicans. Now he is ready to get high and get some vapors. Next he stopped at the liquor store where he bought some papers. Zig-Zags baby nothing but the best. Any other kind of papers who's made for smokin stress. Next he scooped up Fat Rat and fired up a dub sack. The window was rolled up so he can get a contact. Sinister had the Regal straight servin. The chronic in the atmosphere had him buzzin. The chronic and the atmosphere had him buzzin too.

Sinister is feelin pretty good because that weed was some proper shit. Next he humped in a backer corner and bumped a proper bitch. Sinister got the bitches (women) in his neighbourhood straight sewed up. Sinister bumped a bitch named Rochelle. She wanted to get him some pussy because she was in love with his ponytails. But that's not the only thing she's sees in him. Bitches ain't got no choice but to love a muthafuckin G. They hooked up to go out on a date later that day.

And it was time for him to go jacking for some paper (money). He got a victim in sight. Sinister will take rob the victim, take their money, and earn his gang stripe that will build and solidify his reputation within his 89th Street Neighborhood Family Swan Bloods gang. That is how Sinister will kill an unfortunate victim. This is a day in the life of a sinner. Sinister is living the life of a sinner.

Sinister really doesn't try to commit any sins. He just wants have a good time with his friends and socialize. But sometimes it doesn't work right because some crazy shit happens almost every night given the neighborhood area where he is from. It might have to be a throw down or show down. Sinister will be on your ass just like a bloodhound. But then again it might be another dope raid. Or maybe a couple of niggas that got they ass sprayed. But whatever it is, you bet your sweet ass that Sinister is down for it. He will be quick to pull a strap on your ass for whatever kinda shit that kicks off. Anything from 187's (murder) to 211's (robbery). As a sucker punk jumps selling crack cocaine on the corner. He's not from the hood (89th Street Neighborhood). So his money is a goner. If anyone from outside his neighborhood is trying to sell crack in his neighborhood they are going to get run up on and shot up bad. Muthafucka you're gettin jacked.

Land of the Living Dead is one of the more morbid grim songs on the album which described the grim realities of street life of South Central Los Angeles back in the 1990’s. Back in the 1990’s, South Central was like a war zone. Sinister raps about the dangers that plagued South Central during that time period. Livin’ in L.A. is living on the edge because nobody’s safe in the land of the living dead. Nobody’s safe in the land of the living dead.

Sinister doesn’t worship the devil. The devil worships Sinister. Sinister got arrested for sinning. So he entered a guilty plea. They said he represented too much danger. So they sentenced him to death and gave him the gas chamber. It must be crazy. He is high off dope. Giving Sinister the gas chamber is nothing but a joke. So he cleared his throat, laughed, and then he said, “How in the fuck you gone kill me when I’m already dead?” He is a walking corpse that criminally insane. He’ll peel your cap and then he’ll eat your brains. Sinister was born to kill because he is ruthless and crazy. They sent him to hell and the devil couldn’t fade him nor faze him.

Where Sinister comes from, you gotta be on guard. South Central L.A. is a god damn graveyard. It’s sort of like entering the twilight zone. The street sign on the corner is nothing but a tombstone marking the place where you’ll die real slow. Livin’ in L.A. is living on the edge because nobody’s safe in the land of the living dead.

He just ran into a nigga (person) he killed 3 years ago. He drew down, squeezed the trigger, and smoked him again.
It’s too late to try to be his friend. Money comes last and murder come first. His bed is a casket and his car is a hearse.

It’s the dead zone. Everything’s scary because strange things happen when you live in the cemetery. One minute you’re strong as a ox and then the next thing you know you’re stiff as a rock. Dead as a doorknob. Finished and done for. But there’s always room in the graveyard for one more. And when you’re buried, he won’t show remorse.

He’ll dig your coffin out the grave and beat the shit out your corpse because he is a nightmare and a killa outta that is control. Fuck with Sinister and heads will roll. You don’t believe Sinister? Well, how much you wanna bet? You’d be better off playing a game of Russian roulette.

Some people say that only the strong can survive. But even the strong have a hard time stayin’ alive. In South Central, death stalks the night. Don’t be surprised if you see somebody hangin’ from the streetlights. Niggas walk around with arms, legs and heads missin’. Half-dead with their brains hangin’ out. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. Heart full of maggots. Face full of puss. If you’re alive don’t let it go to your head because death comes quick in the land of the living dead. That’s what life on the East Side and South Central is all about.

Sinister says some of the most morbid yet quotable lyrics in this song.

I don’t worship the devil, the devil worship me
I got arrested for sinnin’, so I entered a guilty plea

Givin’ me the gas chamber is nothin’ but a joke
So I cleared my throat, laughed then I said
How in the fuck you gone kill me when I’m already dead?

The street sign on the corner is nothin’ but a tombstone
Markin’ the place where you’ll die real slow

My bed is a casket, my car is a hearse
Livin’ in L.A. is livin’ on the edge because
Nobody’s safe in the land of the living dead

It’s the dead zone, everything’s scary because
Strange things happen when you live in the cemetery

One minute you’re strong as a ox
Then the next thing you know you’re stiff as a rock
Dead as a doorknob, finished, done for

Money come last, murder come first
My bed is a casket, my car is a hearse
Livin’ in L.A. is livin’ on the edge because
Nobody’s safe in the land of the living dead

If you’re alive don’t let it go to your head
Because death come quick in the land of the living dead

In South Central, death stalks the night
Don’t be surprised if you see somebody hangin’ from the streetlights

Big Mello - The Gift album review

Big Mello fans claim that Big Mello - The Gift is his best album to date (and all time) next to his albums on Rap-A-Lot Records. This makes sense given that Big Mello is a heavy lyricist. His 2002 album is a decent effort as each track has something to offer from freestyles to messages. Big Mello has the gift that keeps on giving. He has the gift of gab. Big Mello is the Southside hall of famer who made a mark in the city of Houston, Texas.

Serious explains how ain’t nobody going to change Big Mello because he’s going to stay on his own direction which is straight to the money. You can't fuck with this.

Big Mello broke bread in these streets, fed these streets, and bled these streets. He left these hoes ass niggas dead in these streets too. Nobody is going to change Big Mello because he’s going to stay on his own direction which is straight to the money. As far as you scary ass Hollywood niggas, he could give a fuck about what you’ve got or who you shot. You ain't next to Pac with that studio plexing, yeah you bump to the mic

Check his rap sheet. He has survived prison riots without a scar on his face. Big Mello never switched and never snitched like a bitch. He beat niggas with clutched fists. You can't fuck with this. You can't fuck with the infamous, notorious Bone Hard ass nigga Curtis Davis. You can't fuck with that nigga Curtis Davis.

Crazy Game deals with the drama that comes with life. Big Mello teaches us to be thankful for the little things that we take for granted. It's those crazy games we playing. Some of us out here aren’t going to make it. Just take a wrong move will get you took out of this planet.

You know it's crazy sometimes with so much drama all around in life. It makes Big Mello get the .9 to lay them all down. But he catches himself and puts the pistol on the shelf. He thanks God for his health because somebody out there didn't wake up. Somebody last night got locked up now. It's the little things that we take for granted. Just take a wrong move will get you took out of this planet. It's real in the field.

All that bumping bout nothing will get your cap peeled. Cats ain't boxing. They pulling them straps and thangs. Niggas don't give a damn. Cats know that Big Mello is bout it. He ain't a studio buster. Big Mello put it down and got stripes in these H-Town streets. It's those crazy games we playing. Some of us out here aren’t going to make it. Some of us out here playing aren’t going to make it.

It took a little time for Big Mello to figure out exactly what this game of was all about. It took Big Mello to be thankful for the little things that he takes for granted. He realized that a wrong move will get him taken out of this planet. He was young once. We all go through it. You see now he is so focused and sees right through it.

Big Mello gives the younger generation all sorts of advice in Verse 2.

[Verse 2]
Now these new wave cats, disrespecting the game
Now you know who you are, I mention no names
Naw even in the rain, I contain the stang
While they run around and say, cheat sand in the brain
I sit back puff Jane, hop on the plane
Hit a lick out of town, come back and cop thangs what
Playas know, when it's time to rearrange
And take a new journey, through a new terrain
See I switch patterns, and I stay up and at em
Attack em the first minute, that I spot that it's raggedy
Apply new strategy, avoid the tragedy
Keep it real with the family, haters they mad at me
I'm glad to be, the playa that they love to hate
Now it makes it more easy, to shake the snakes
And I'll watch em fall, just like snow flakes
Now that's the breaks huh, that's the breaks man

Show Your I.D. is the Houston version and take on Papa Chuk - Show Me Some ID. Show Your I.D. deals with the issue of underage prostitution.

Mel Tormé - Swingin' on the Moon is a swingin' jazz album from 1960 album by. The Moon is the connecting theme for this Mel Tormé album. Notice how every track, but one, contains the word "Moon" in the title. He was inspired by the New York City nightlife when recording this album. The moon is a part of New York City night life. Many of the songs reflect the culture of New York City nightlife. Fans of jazz and easy listening will enjoy his smooth crooning voice. Unsurprisingly many of these songs are love songs. The album captures the innocent nostalgic sound of the 1960s.

Mel Tormé takes us listeners on a journey to have a good time on Swingin’ on the Moon. The song is about having a night on the town and leaving your troubles behind. Mel Tormé wrote Swingin’ on the Moon himself in 1960.

Are you tired of summer nights and noons? Do you yawn when they speak sunny Spain? Could you live without ever seeing old Rangoon? Have you had enough of London fog? New York snow and California smog? Would you say, “arrivederci” to Rome in June? Then come with Mel Tormé and let's go swingin' on the moon. Then fly with Mel Tormé and let's go swingin' on the moon.

Mel Tormé convinces the woman he is dating to go on a honeymoon on the moon with him far from the noisy Earth below. And if her mother asks, "Why the moon honey?" Mel instructs her to tell her mother that her feller has gone interstellar. He tells her to grab her hat and they will head off in the blue in a little rocket built for two. Far from the hustle of the crowd. They’re really gonna enjoy a life of ease. Livin' on moonlight cocktails and green cheese. Mister and Missus Space Commuter, if you please. They now both live in the crater. They go singin' and swingin' on the moon.

Mel Tormé convinces the woman he is dating to go on a honeymoon on the moon with him far from the noisy Earth below in these lyrics.

Let's have a honeymoon on the moon, honey
Far from the noisy earth below
And if your mama asks, "Why the moon honey?"
Just tell her your feller has gone inter-stellar
Grab your hat and we'll head off in the blue
In a lit-tle rock-et built for two
Baby, we're gonna blast off and before we're through
We'll leave the cares that we know on terra fir-ma below
While we go singin' and swingin' on the moon

Hey, let's grab a holiday on the moon, honey
Far from the hustle of the crowd
And if your folks ask about our house, honey
Tell mater and pater we live in the crater

We're really gonna enjoy a life of ease
Livin' on moonlight cocktails and green cheese
Mister and Missus Space Commuter, if you please
And in a few years we might produce our own sat-e-lite
While we go singin' and swingin' on the moon

Moonlight Cocktail is a lovers ode to the drink known as a moonlight cocktail. Lovers hail the moonlight cocktail.

Couple of jiggers of moonlight, add a star, pour in the blue of a June night, and one guitar. Mix in a couple of dreamers and there you are. Lovers hail the moonlight cocktail. Now add a couple of flowers and a drop of dew. Stir for a couple of hours until dreams come true. As to the number of kisses, it's up to you. Moonlight cocktails need a few. Cool it in the summer breeze.

Serve it in the starlight underneath the trees. You'll discover tricks like these are sure to make your moonlight cocktail please. Follow the simple directions and they will bring life of another complexion where you'll be king. You will awake in the morning and start to sing about how moonlight cocktails are the thing.

Mel sings about how he wished on the moon for something he never knew and for more than he ever knew during the song I Wished on the Moon. He wished on the moon for the woman he loves.

Every night was long and gloomy. Shadows gathered in the air. No one ever listened to Mel. No one wondered if he did care. None in all the world to love him. None to count the stars that hung. Then the moon came out above him and he saw that it was young.

He wished on the moon for something he never knew. He wished on the moon for more than he ever knew. What Mel wished for was a sweeter rose, a softer sky, and an April day that would not dance away. He begged of a star to throw him a beam or two. Then he wished on a star and asked for a dream or two. He looked for every loveliness and it all came true He wished on the moon for the woman he loves.

Moon Song explores how true love wasn’t meant for Mel. The song is sweet and subtle in nature.

It came from nowhere. The night that Mel and this lady met was like a melodious plea. However it was a sweet moon song that wasn't meant for him. Why is it always reminding him of a love dream that never could be?

It came gliding into his heart riding on a moon beam from above. Sorrow ended and the whole world blended in a rhapsody of love. Then Mel heard her singing to somebody else what he thought was his melody. He found his lady had her eyes set on another gentleman instead of him. Mel soon realizes that true love was not mean for him. It was a sweet moon song that wasn't meant for Mel.

How High The Moon describes how Mel’s life was easy until he fell in love. This is one of Mel’s more poetic songs which uses words and sentences that rhyme concurrently.

Mel’s life was easy until he fell in love. The moon just made it moonlight. The breeze just made it breezy. Then he fell in love. And things that once were clear, he knew that he could barely see and hear.

Mel gets poetic on this song by using words and sentences that rhyme concurrently with one another. Read these lyrics to gain an understanding.

Somewhere there's music, how faint the tune
Somewhere there's heaven, how high the moon
There is no moon above when love is far away, too
'Til it comes true that you love me as I love you
Somewhere there's music, it's where you are
Somewhere there's heaven, how near, how far
The darkest night would shine if you would come to me soon
Until you will, how still my heart, how high the moon

Mel and the lady he is dating are feeling restless and are yearning for adventure on a night with a full moon in New York City, New York. That is the synopsis behind Don’t Let That Moon Get Away. What every young heart should know is that these moments don’t happen so often.

It’s one of those nights for adventure. Mel and the lady he is dating ought to be recklessly gay. Who knows what they’ll find. Mel tells the lady to not let that moon get away. Mel tells the lady, “So if you’re inclined, don’t let that moon get away.” Her eyes have a way of revealing the thoughts that she really should say. It may be romance.

He tells her, “Don’t be so ready to go for now is the right time to learn what every young heart should know. These moments don’t happen so often. It doesn’t seem right to delay. If you feel a tune, whatever you do, don’t let that moon get away. Don’t you dare let that moon get away. Baby, don’t let that moon get away.” He tells her these moments don’t happen so often. You'd better take advice from Tormé.

I Hadn’t Anyone Till You is song which explains how Mel was a lonely person until he had a lady in his life. Mel hadn't anyone until this lady came into his life. Mel was a lonely person until he had a lady in his life. He was a lonely person. He used to lie awake and wonder if there could be a someone in the whole wide world just made for him. Now he sees he had to save his love for her.

Velvet Moon is a song about how this lady appeared in his life just like his velvet affair. They could tell and knew well that forever and a day that their love was here to stay. And they are living their velvet affair. They both were meant for each other.

Spring arrived suddenly. Bringing dreams of a velvet affair. But the dreams only schemes lazy smoke rings drifting in the air. Suddenly she appeared looking just like his velvet affair. However there were only sighs in her eyes. Was it fair for Mel to think that she might care?

Luck was blind. Fate was kind. It was not an affair of the mind. They could tell and knew well that forever and a day that their love was here to stay.  Now at last, spring has passed. And they are living their velvet affair. They’re in love and joy is everywhere.

No Moon at All is a calm subtle and soothing jazz song about how a night with no moon is a perfect night for a romance. There is no moon at all. What a night. Even lightning bugs have dimmed their light. Stars have disappeared from sight and there's no moon at all. Don't make a sound. It’s so dark. Even Fido is afraid to bark. What a perfect night to park. There is no moon at all. What a perfect night for love.

Moonlight in Vermont is about a romantic night Mel and his lover had in the state of Vermont. Pennies in a stream, Falling leaves from the sycamore trees makes the landscape vibrant and beautiful. Ski trails on a mountain side. Snow light in Vermont. Moonlight in Vermont. Telegraph cables that sing down the highway. Travel each bend in the road. People who live in this romantic setting are so hypnotized by the lovely evening summer breeze and warbling of the meadow lark. Mel and his lover had a romantic night in the state of Vermont. In the moonlight in Vermont.

Oh, You Crazy Moon explained how Mel got his heart broken on a night with a full moon. It was just a night like this when it happened. Mel was such an unsuspecting soul. He couldn't quite believе that it happened until it got beyond control. The lady Mel was dating broke his heart on a night with a full moon. The lady he was dating once promised him that their love would never end and be eternal. That this could never end. However the lady broke Mel’s heart leaving him heartbroken. She should be ashamed to show her funny face.

The Moon Was Yellow is the mellow jazz number where Mel gives his heart to a lady in passing. Mel sings about how his love is mellow and his hopes are strung around Cupid.

The moon was yellow and the night was young. A smile brought Mel and the lady together. He was wondering whether they would meet again some day. The moon was yellow and the song was sung. That vocal inspiration gave him the inclination to give his heart away to lady in passing.

Here they are. Is romance to continue? Will it be Mel’s luck to win her? May he look that far? His love is mellow and his hopes are strung around that Cupid fellow. Behold, the moon is yellow and the night is young.
