Steampianist - Strange Rooms album review

Steampianist - Strange Rooms is a strange morbid sounding steampunk album with the use of Vocaloid voice synthesizer software. The album is certainly spooky and horrifying to say the least. Each song was inspired by a movie or film score. The songs are hit and miss based on how they were structured and how the Vocaloid voice synthesizer software was adjusted based on settings.

Secrets of Wysteria was a song inspired by the 2007 movie The Gray Man. The song has that foreboding haunting creepy vibe and sound. Secrets of Wysteria is surprisingly good for a song which uses Vocaloid voice synthesizer software. Steampianist managed to make his vocals sound like he was not too much relying on the usage of auto tune.

Little Gracie found a strange house. A place to play just past all the trees. Swift sharp needles do spot his face before he feeds on the sheep's white fleece. Like a phantasmagorical fantasy like Willows of Wysteria. A crescendo of hysteria. Little children went astray in the sunny soil beneath. Wriggling worms in disarray. Hear them laughing underneath.

Rubber Cowboy explained the never-ending road a rubber cowboy faces. It's hard bein' a rubber cowboy in an aimless ride-along alone. He is on a journey with just him and his horse.

A cowboy is drinking cactus water under the hot dessert sun. Eating canned beans and barbecued spleens. He is on a journey with just him and his horse. It's hard bein' a rubber cowboy in an aimless ride-along alone. He is slowly sinkin' in the sandy dessert sand on his rubber rhinestone horse as they are taking the long way home.

His melted rubber cattle is a psychedelic trail of goop sizzlin' and bubblin' all over. Melted friends sure are quieter when they're all just trail of blubber. Slowly melting in the sandy dessert sand. A lone survivor of the sweltering sun.

It was a greater slaughter than the battle with copper Indians. Popping bottle cap guns. But no match for the mighty Sun. After all he is a melting rubber cowboy.

The storyline of The Detective explained how a detective was investigating a murder committed by a botanist who turns out to be a cold callous killer. However the world ends before gets a chance to solve the murder mystery. The Detective described the monotony of investigative work a detective must go through.

Dear Mr. Detective, what clues have you? The answer is tappin at the tip of his tongue. A decade of cruel crimes unsolved decorate the streets like Christmas time. Yet answers remain in the dark somehow like a puzzle piece thats draws no art.

The Detective quivers in sheer disbelief at the string of crimes his eyes have magnified. Any halfwit fool could firmly conclude that the bloody gloved Botanist down the street is the cold callous killer. He triumphs each march his shoes clack towards the plaster peeling run down lab. A sound too high to hear pierced through his skull. The detective fell down and fainted to black.

A choir of cluttered phones tangled chords devour the space. Phone wails as if it’s newborn. Each a ring a crash of metal unwavering and unending. Voices echo asking for grace for a crumb of divine intervention. What an unfortunate fate to be placed in this miserable state. What’s a confused Detective to do?

The ringing’s died down. How long has it been? The detective finds himself in a strange room dizzy and dazed. His eyes spiral out into a dark fuzzy haze. Dear Mr. Detective, what clues have you?

The Detective quivers in sheer disbelief. The end of the world has come before he solved the murder mystery. It hardly matters now. Such a shame. They're all dead. The world is no more. It hardly matters now with the state they’re in. There are shards of what once was a planet. Corpses floating out to outer space. A glorious tessellation of the human race.

MC Hammer - Funky Headhunter album review

Funky Headhunter by MC Hammer was a hilarious attempt to cash in on the gangsta rap era of the mid-1990s which is what MC Hammer did with this album when dropped the “MC” from his name. This album is a lot more aggressive and G-Funk oriented than his other releases. Now the album has some classic goodies such as Pumps and a Bump, Oaktown, and Somethin Bout the Goldie.

Hammer took a nostalgic trip down memory land on the song Oaktown. Hammer took a little trip down memory lane when brothers played nothing but the dope game. You're bound to get jumped and smoked in a place called Oakland. Keep in mind whenever they go out to grind.

Hammer attempted to shed his pop friendly image with the more aggressive, sexually suggestive song Pumps and a Bump. This was his attempt to cash in on the gangsta rap trend of the 90s and the G-Funk era. He raps about how he likes girls with big asses with catchy repetitive chorus that goes, “Pumps and a bump, pumps and a bump/We like the girls with the pumps and a bump!” Some may interpret this as shots to MC Hammer.

Somethin Bout the Goldie in Me is one of the more calmer and less aggressive songs on this album which show off the conniving side of MC Hammer. He explains there is something about an Oakland mack and the goldie in him that likes money.

There is something about the goldie in Hammer. There is something about an Oakland mack. It makes an OG feel phat. Somethin bout the goldie in Hammer that makes him laugh at these wannabes because they been watching too much TV. Rambo and Clint Eastwood got ya trippin. Because most OGs are in the pen or fresh out.

Hammer called out critics, haters, and opposing rappers in these lyrics. He aimed those lyrics at those who specifically dissing him. Back in 1994, Hammer was catching a lot of flack and criticism for changing his style to cash in on gangsta rap era. Rappers such as LL Cool J, MC Serch, and Black Sheep were dissing MC Hammer.

And when I hear rappers like you call me wack
I laugh and just say over twenty million sold, Can you buy that?
Yeah, Fake rappers are surreal
You don't hear me though, I thought ya knew
I'm a certified player, You see
Cause of the girls, The girls, They love me
And no matter what my critics say
They all know that I'm mackin this fame
Cause fools can't recognize game
I refuse to be a wannabe
Somethin bout the goldie in me, Yeah

MC Hammer - Too Legit to Quit album review

MC Hammer - Too Legit to Quit was the follow-up album to Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ’Em that Capitol Records and everyone else expected to be more successful than Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ’Em only to become a sophomore jinx selling only 3 million units. The single 2 Legit 2 Quit was the only reason why this album went 2x times platinum in the United States. 2 Legit 2 Quit and Addams Groove were some of the moderately successful singles off the album that managed to keep his name alive in the music industry and movie industry. This album incorporated pop and new jack swing over catchy lyricism.

MC Hammer explains why he is too legit to quit on the hyper uptempo dance rap song 2 Legit 2 Quit. MC Hammer went than he ever did before over 90s style dance beats and dance pattern. He is kickin' it at the top 'cause he is too legit to quit. 2 Legit 2 Quit was the follow-up to U Can’t Touch This along with Gaining Momentum.

Gaining Momentum is a hip hop and dance combination where the sounds of hip hop/rap meet dance music. MC Hammer explains how the music has got him moving as he wants to party. With little bit of time he’ll turn it out. The message of this song was to dance and express yourself. MC Hammer was gaining momentum and getting hype with this song despite it not actually being a since. In a way, Gaining Momentum was the follow-up to U Can’t Touch This.

Addams Groove was another moderately successful song on this album that spawned off into a single. This showed the more horrorcore side of MC Hammer.

Pete Rock & InI - Center of Attention album review

Pete Rock & InI - Center of Attention solidified Pete Rock as one of the greatest producers in hip hop music. His hard solid staccato drums and hip hop oriented beat patterns are what helped make this album a hip hop classic. Pete Rock was killing it with his production. Fakin’ Jax and Think Twice are the highlights off the album.

Think Twice was about who will be the MC to get dismantled and respect. Who'll be the sucka MC to get dismantled? Who'll be the next sucka MC to get dismantled? Those are the questions that leave people wondering. Sucka MC's please think twice. Pete Rock’s bringing the flavor regardless. Grap Luva’s lazy boy laidback style of speak is what made the song captivating to listen to and drew attention from audiences underground.

Who'll be the sucka MC to get dismantled? Grap Luva hopes that you can handle your whipping. So cease your flippin. He’ll be the black civilian who is bound to make a million or make enough loot so he can buy his own pavilion to throw a fat party and invite everybody where he will play all the old school hits like Lodi Dodi. The funk makes you dance cheek to cheek. I know this will.

Grap Luva has connections like OPEC while ya hung up like a coatcheck. He’s real like a ruby while ya fake like a pinchbeck. That's imitation gold if you didn't know it. His rhymes flow as his vocab grows and grows. He freaks it for the basslines. Catch him while he is boomin' in your Alpine. You need to think twice just to earn respect. So sucka MC's please think twice. You don't know what you doin'. Think about that.

Pete Rock came through for '95 with the flav. His production was amazin' that it was blazin'. Not brazen. He displayed the funk material as he stood imperial to others. The public came to hear the Soul Brother disperse words of wisdom with InI comin' direct on the set. A lot of rap niggas came to win but the style played out when they chose a different route. Respect the mic check, one, two.

Step Up is Think Twice revisited. Pete Rock brought that East Coast hip hop/rap flavor to the mix. Grap Luva’s lazy boy laidback style of speak is what made the song captivating to listen to and drew attention from audiences underground. INI did make noise with the song.

Each time when Grap Luva and Pete Rock hit the studio, it is pure sheer perfection because they’ve already belittled the flaws like the ultimate driver machine with no pause. They don’t obliterate what they mean. Brothers don't be overstanding the plans that they be havin'. Crushing all these clowns cause it's all about the mic grabbin'.

Rob-O stays at the center of news, gossip, and interviews. He is saying the shit to smooth to make you move. There is no hesitation in a world of frustration because he is facing a grown man sport situation. Each time Grap Luva and Pete Rock hit the studio, it is pure sheer perfection.

Tardigrade Inferno - The Worst Of Me single review

Tardigrade Inferno gave us the worst of her self on her single called The Worst Of Me. Her single uses a morbid twist of metal and dark cabaret. However Tardigrade Inferno is no stranger to morbid themes. So that is not surprising. Alternative metal meets dark cabaret on this single.

Tardigrade Inferno gave us the worst of her self on The Worst of Me. She explains how violence is the shortest way to bring out the worst of her. The song uses a twist of alternative metal over a dark cabaret soundscape.

Tardigrade was walking through the park. Fast and light. And It felt so nice and cool. Then she met the pretty duck. She said, "Hi". He reacted so cruelly. What have she done to this, creature? She could barely whisper. The duck starts attacking her. Violence is the shortest way to bring out the worst of her. So you should better run away. Your payback is gonna be severe.

Suddenly she lost her mind. All of the sudden, everything turned black when the wrathful bird attacked. She remembered a wooden stick she used that was hard enough to beat up the nasty duck. The bird fell into the puddle. He's bleeding from his ear. Tardigrade cannot take her anger back. There are no more nice ducks here.

Write with Blood is a bloody gruesome dark cabaret song that encourages people to write their story with their blood.

You feel weaker with every passing day. Feel new pain. You know it’s here to stay. All the people. You know they feel the same Growing older and going less insane.

Put your hat on and run into the mud. Trace the killer by following the blood. You will find new evidence and hints. Rip and tear and take the fingerprints. And the only thing you’ll need is not to be afraid to bleed. Put your blood inside the story. That story writes itself indeed. If you want to write your story, write your story with your blood. Bleed a little. Enough to write it down.

Steampianist - The Lowbrow Party single review

The Lowbrow Party by Steampianist is a morbid ragtime styled electronic digital single with the use of Vocaloid voice synthesizer software. The single is certainly spooky and horrifying to say the least. Ever wondered what a Lowbrow party is like? NO? Well... Ok.

Ever wondered what a Lowbrow party is like? Well the song Lowbrow Party explains what a Lowbrow party is. A Lowbrow party is like a carnival. Think of it that way. The song uses a twist of dark morbid ragtime styled electronic music.

At the lowbrow party you'll see happy manic and fleshy sweat. Everything is Passe. And everything is cashed in. The lady in the gimpsuit fishy crotch sets the hoola-hoops ablaze. A leather hat on a rat. Teeth for the fairy and blue boiled eggs. Raw meat caked in cotton candy. The sound waves bloop and loops. And all the horses melts like glue. That's what you get. That's what you see at the lowbrow party.

Halloween Candy is a gruesome cringeworthy song about a friendly neighborhood child molester preparing to rape kids on the night of Halloween on October 31st. It’s just a wholesome 31st for the neighborhood child molester. This is certainly one of the most disturbing songs Steampianist has ever written or composed.

The friendly child molester is preparing for Halloween. It’s that time of the year again where the kids are out and about while dressed in Halloween costumes on the prowl for candy. Halloween costumes are foreplay for the lecherous manic molester. But he's so jolly and he's so sweet you'd think it's Christmas day.

It’s just a wholesome 31st for the neighborhood child molester. His pants zipped are down and he is wearing ski mask on. So you know he's on the prowl. Trick or treat. The treat's the trick. So beware of what you ask for on this Halloween night. Not a single child will be spared on this Halloween night. Don’t just expect candy corns and gummy bears from the neighborhood child molester

This jolly child molester  has enough treats for every child. So don't be sad and wear a smile because the kiddy fiddler will not run out of Halloween candy.

On Halloween night, there's a very friendly man with a very peculiar preferential taste. But he has candy for all the kids. Preferably children ages 10 and below. 18 and up you're out of luck. You're just too old for toys or for sweets. Too old to trick or treat.

TOKUNBO - THE SWAN album review

TOKUNBO - THE SWAN is one of the lighter works of noir jazz with quiet instrumentation. Noir jazz meets folk noir. Her voice is similar to Norah Jones. Just a lot quieter and softer. TOKUNBO calls her album an ideal present for a friend.

New June explained how she realized her path in life is no straight line. As she pledges her goodbyes to what used to be her life, she realizes her path is no straight line.

As TOKUNBO stands on the bridge and watches the seagulls go she is taken to a place she used to know. A place where her cares are feathers in the wind. And in the stillness of time. Behind the dunes a promise lives its life. Who would have known since this was just meant to be a stepping stone within the road? But not the backbone to a new June.

As she lays awake at night passing landscapes go through her mind. As she pledges her goodbyes to what used to be her life, she realizes her path is no straight line. How come at times when it's least expected we find we feel the most connected?

Outer Space is folk noir styled jazz song about TOKUNBO finding some solace and comfort for herself while being in a quiet mode. Folk noir meets noir jazz on this song.

Worlds clash and TOKUNBO gets so confused. It's getting more than less. TOKUNBO finds her solace in a quiet mode. But her hungry mind requests to keep on going down that empty road which her angry heart regrets. This leaves her in an unpredictable mess. It feels like she is in outer space. The music she has to face is weighing down on her. She’d rather catch than miss.

Somersault was a song about acrobats performing somersaults when the circus came to town and about TOKUNBO finding herself in a romance when she tasted Davy the paper boy’s lips.

Davy was the paper boy who lived across the road. Going on his daily round by bike on cobble stone roads. People would get excited when the circus came to town. And they’d be passing all the posters wide-eyed lining fences up and down. People would eye the show troupe from a distance as they would set up the fair ground.

Acrobats would perform somersaults on tightropes without a safety net.  All the while they wondered what it'd be like to be worldwide bound. From beneath the canvas between the empty seats. Spying on the run-throughs. Flying knives and tigers thoops on the trapeze.

But TOKUNBO could tell this time around was different. She sat hip to hip with Davy. TOKUNBO saw that something in his eyes was glistening. And then she tasted his lips. A tender love in blue jeans and no heartache yet.

Lewis Mullen - All Among the Pines album review

All Among the Pines by Lewis Mullen is a folk album which takes us through sun dappled Pine woodland of Scotland in the company of a cast of wildlife. The album is filled with such eccentricism backed by a ukulele.

Green Imagination tells people they don’t need electronics to keep them enthused, occupied, amused, happy, or entertained. They just need the good old outdoors with imagination. You've got a green imagination. Your imagination has very low carbon emissions.

Your imagination doesn't run on fossil fuels. It isn't fooled by dirty energy. It has no need of nuclear fission. Your imagination has very low carbon emissions. You've got a green imagination. Lots of other colours in there as well. Sometimes it doesn't make a lot of sense. Predominantly green imagination. Fresh as spring and clear as a bell.

Your imagination is a lean green mean creating machine that doesn't run at any expense. It's full of colour and brightly lit. It doesn't drive and it doesn't smoke. It isn't littered with cans and pokes. The only dirty things are the jokes in your imagination.

Nicolson Street tells people about all the fun they can have on Nicolson Street in Edinburgh, Scotland. The song described the second hand shops and first class places to eat on Nicolson Street because you can find all that on Nicolson Street.

If your pockets are empty and your clothes are bland, you could do worse than buy second hand. Just direct your ill-shod feet to the charity shops on Nicolson Street. Leave Waverley Station (Edinburgh Waverley railway station), cross the bridges, North and South. Soon you'll be boggle-eyed with a gaping mouth. If you get on the number 3 and get off before Clark Street, you might find yourself on Nicolson Street.

There are second hand shops and first class places to eat. You'll find all that on Nicolson Street. You will find just what you seek. Bare essentials or a treat. You'll find just about anything on Nicolson Street. Whether it's a walking cane or some running shoes. A rare vinyl album from 1982. Stripey curtains or polka-dot bedsheets. You'll find that thing on Nicolson Street. You might meet your husband or your future wife or stumble across the meaning of your life on Nicolson Street.

Minas (Orlando and Patricia) - Blue Azul album review

Blue Azul by Minas (Orlando and Patricia) is a fantastic Brazilian jazz album that serves as the best representation of what Brazilian jazz is. This is Brazilian jazz incorporating samba, bossa nova, axé, and chôro. These top-notch Brazilian musicians offer the best in Brazilian jazz with their unique brand of bossa nova jazz.

Jornada de Inverno (Winter Journey) is a cold bossa nova jazz song laced with that spicy Brazilian samba flavor and sound. This song gives away a nostalgic trance.

The afternoon light invades the corners of the closed shutter. Forming silhouettes and faded memories. These walls bring back memories from a bunk bed of dark varnish. Turntable records, cigarettes, coca cola. And you lay looking at the ceiling visualizing as if they projected there. The chiming of the living room clock gives away a nostalgic trance. That's the way things are in love.

The song Strong Black Coffee explains to people how there is something about the aroma of black coffee that just can’t be beat.

There is something about the aroma of black coffee that just can’t be beat. Strong black coffee is dark and sweet. There’s no way one can hold. Fresh beans tempt people in the sack. It hisses through the pores and makes the blood flow. Sweeter than the kiss of the honey bee. Darker than night. Bitter with a bight. Hot, sweet, and out of sight. Fill your nostrils with sweet aroma.

Add some cinnamon. A twist of lemon gives a tropical zing. Thick liqueur is sure to make you sing. Café au lait, espresso, cappuccino. Enough to make your synapse go bingo! Strong black coffee will make you high when you’re feelin’ kind of blue. Strong black coffee, night or day. In any old cup or on a silver tray.

Homenagem à Mineira (Tribute to Mineira) was a homage and tribute to all the beautiful women in all the cities across Earth the duo has visited.

Orlando and Patricia - In Rio album review

In Rio is another fantastic Brazilian jazz album. In Rio by Orlando and Patricia is the best representation of Brazilian jazz is. These top-notch Brazilian musicians offer the best in Brazilian jazz with their unique brand of bossa nova jazz. Bossa nova meets samba on this album. Not only is their music relaxing. Everything from the instrumentation to their vocals are perfect. A bit of samba is added into original ballads written by the duo.

Vento teaches us that everything passes like the wind. Life goes by just like the wind. The song uses a huge relaxing incorporation of samba with the instrumentation. There is something about wind that has a mystical sense of renewal.

Wind is just moving air permeating the earth in the firmament. But its involuntary strength perform extraordinary feats. Wind scatters the seeds across the hills. Plays the mill kneading the grain. Carries the rain from the sea to the land. And moves the vessel. Wind is just moving air roaming the earth at any time.

Wind in the form of a breeze comes to soothe summer's heat. But it can also be treacherous and cause a lot of tension. However wind causes homelessness and destruction.

There is something about wind that has a mystical sense of renewal. Wind choreographs the clouds and carves the erosion. It doesn't matter if it comes slow or fast. In the form of a breeze or a hurricane. Only what was sown remains. And the drawing in the sand left by the wind. Wind is just moving air affecting the earth without any feeling. But the legendary spirit evokes extraordinary feelings.

In the womb of the night whistles. Whisper in the woods swirl on the ground. The whole skin shivers and the mystery feeds the imagination. It doesn't matter if it blows all day. It doesn't matter if it blows all day in the countryside or in the city. Everything passes like the wind. The outside and the inside. In a universe in motion.

Carnaval is about a past memory of a man who was invited to a girl’s carnival performance. This is more of a sad love song to be exact. A lot of slow samba is used.

A man who was invited to a girl’s carnival performance to dance. There they exchanged their love. However the man took their love all wrong. He couldn't stay anymore because he only saw another girl who passed in her. She had already gone because  carried away by futility. She was looking for happiness where she is not.
