This is Michael Mixerr. Today I am going to review the R&B/Soul EP by S.O. called Dedicated. S.O. is Strictly Original which consists of Swift-T, Reg-T, The Hitman, and D The Rebel from Saginaw, Michigan. This was released on cassette only by U Be U Studios in 1992. The group had a couple of few singles out prior to this EP called Why U Wanna Act Like That?, Memories Of You, and Thought She Was All That.
Why U Wanna Act Like That? I love the heavy doo-wop bass style notes with fast paced drum beats on this song. This song is about a certain female acting up in the club. Drinking and socialization is a common theme in this song. The drum beats by U BE U are good. I like them. The bass is rock bass.
D The Rebel is a politically conscience brother. He proves his political conscienceness on I Don't Trust My Government. Everything that is said and sung on this track is still true today. In fact it is even more relevant today now than it was back then. Isn't that very crazy how that happens? Swift-E is on the backing vocals and does a superb job at it. I can say that the mixing is on point.
Memories Of You should have been a single. Thought She Was All That sounds like a sad love ballad like somebody died. I didn't enjoy it as much as Why U Wanna Act Like That?. Memories Of You was quite a sad song that I did not enjoy.
I rate this EP, Dedicated, 5/5*****!
