Edward Nolle had built a slaughterhouse on his property sometime during the 20th century. Exactly when is unknown. This slaughterhouse was a small square structure constructed out of tin metal and was 20 feet in size. Cattle were often slaughtered here and sold as meat to local supermarkets. Guadalupe County rented his slaughterhouse for the Guadalupe County Poor Farm which was also a convict farm. The Guadalupe County Poor Farm was a 202 acre area that Edward Nolle sold to Guadalupe County for the purpose of housing prisoners from the area. On March 31, 1937, Edward Nolle transferred 31 additional acres of the property were to Guadalupe County to be used as a poor farm. He owned the slaughterhouse as the slaughterhouse was on his property. The county continued to rent the slaughterhouse from Edward Nolle until the poor farm shut down in the 1940s. Edward Nolle sold the property and house to Arthur Schmidt in 1941. Arthur Schmidt later owned the property and had a slaughterhouse on the land. Sometime in the mid 1940s is when Arthur Schmidt sold the property to Robert Felsing Jr. with his family.
The slaughterhouse shut down when Robert Felsing Jr. passed away. In 2005 the property was sold to a land trust.
The Nolle slaughterhouse is located at the address of 1405 East Kingsbury Street, Seguin, Texas, US 78155.
