Mixerr Album Reviews #2,157

Karnak ‎– Calypso Breakdown / Hummin' is a calypso based house single which relies heavily on the calypso instrument. This house single is unique because of the reliance on the calypso instrument and the tribal house sound. Progressive house meets tribal house on this single. Karnak ‎– Calypso Breakdown / Hummin' is perfect tribal house music from the United Kingdom.

Calypso Breakdown is a 10 minute long house song which heavily on the calypso instrument. This song is a perfect example of tribal house. Calypso Breakdown also relies heavily on the Ralph MacDonald - Calypso Breakdown that played at 45 RPM which is were the calypso comes from. A few electronic synths and noises have been added on top of this sample. Karnak did that.

Hummin uses a 78 Hz bass test tone on top of the layers of instruments. Hummin is quite fast for a progressive house song as the BPM is 128 BPM.

I rate this single 5/5*****!!
