The Meier Gin was established by Herman Meier in 1873 in the small town of Cele, Texas. Herman Meier ran this gin solely by himself before hiring anyone to help him with his ginning operation. At first there were only 2 people he hired. Then 3 more people were hired.

Albertins Heinemann gave Herman Meier 60 acres of land out of the William Hines league for a price of $5,625 dollars on a consideration contract.
