Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church was located within the footprint of proposed widening of SH 71 in 2012. Plans to relocate were discussed with TxDot officials several times in 2013. The church planned to relocate within the immediate area, because their congregation is local to this area. However this did not happen right away due to limited availability of funds. The church building for Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church would be moved to Manor after a potential relocation site was found.

TxDOT met with church officials several times in the past to discuss their relocation benefits and potential replacement sites for Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church prior to 2014. (Ref: https://ftp.dot.state.tx.us/pub/txdot-info/spd/cda/sh71-express/project-documents/environmental/sh71-fm973fhwaapprovedea-august2011-20110920-final-01-dn.pdf)

[Because the church was located within the footprint of proposed widening of SH 71 [covered under a separate NEPA document (CSJ: 0113-08-037 and 0113-09-030)], TxDOT has met with church officials several times in the past to discuss their relocation benefits and potential replacement sites. The church plans to relocate within the immediate area, because their congregation is local to this area; however, they have not identified a potential relocation site. Activities related to acquisition or relocation have been postponed at this time, due to limited availability of funds. The acquisition of the church would occur under the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act.]

The church planned to relocate within the immediate area, because their congregation is local to this area. However this did not happen right away due to limited availability of funds.

Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church would be demolished by imminent domain for right of way purposes if they had not relocated.

The potential relocation site for Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church was located at 17600 Blake Manor Road, in Manor, which was owned by Addie Mae Brown and Louis Brown. Secretary and director Leroy Davis, Jr. was called home to Heaven on April 17, 2019. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Secretary, and director.
