[For teen-agers at Crestholme Presbyterian Church, 1602 Goliad Rd., things just haven't been the same since the Rev. Joe Sheeler, 31, took over as pastor a few months ago. THEY FOUND themselves viewing films like “Alfie,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “Night of the Iguana” for the purpose of Christian education and they loved it. “The Encyclopedia Britannica makes these films available.” Rev. Sheeler explained. In the study of the film you see yourself.” But it is not the films that have become the big thing at Crestholme — it’s music. “We put aside the traditional Sunday School lesson and are studying popular music like the Beatles, Joan Baez, Rod McKuen, Simon and Garfunkel and Richard Harris,” Rev. Sheeler said. “The Beatles are social commentators, not just entertainers and through this analysis we can find out what they are saying to the Christian faith.” The Sunday School class, which Rev. Sheeler said has evoked the most controversy at the church, led to an experimental worship service which the young people will put on Sunday, April 27. “The forms will be traditional but the order within the forms will be experimental,” Rev. Sheeler explained.]
