Montana Street Warehouse in San Antonio, Texas ordered to be demolished.

The City of San Antonio has ordered the Montana Street Warehouse at 1415 Montana Street to be demolished through a demolition order as of April 9, 2021. The City of San Antonio has ordered the warehouse be secured against unauthorized entry pending demolition and during demolition. The City of San Antonio has ordered demolition to be completed within 30 days. Any and all abatement procedures must be done in accordance with code regulations. All debris is to be removed from the premises after demolition is completed.

There is major structural issues with the roof mainly. The roof is sagging in many areas and has collapsed. The roof is missing purlins, braces, and collar ties. Most of the roof sags in a dilapidated condition as the roof covering is missing and/or damaged. Rafters for the roof are rotted or damaged which is why the roof is sagging. All of the ceiling is severely deflected and deflated as the ceiling joists are rotted and/or damaged. There are holes in the roof. The roof trusses have rotted resulting long-standing damage. And the overhang of the roof hangs in a deteriorated condition.

Much of the stucco veneer has been damaged with the sheetrock due to a lack of upkeep. Sheetrock is missing in some areas of the warehouse. This is an attribution as to why the warehouse lacks weather protection.

Floors have sustained fire damage and the foundation has sustained fire damaged. Many windows are damaged and broken. A couple windows are said have been gone missing. Electrical system presents hazards as there are exposed electrical wires that could ignite a fire. The warehouse already poses a threat to life, health, safety, and property.

Several liens were placed against Joe Lewis Jackson last year in 2020. The liens placed against Joe Lewis Jackson by the City of San Antonio are worth hundreds to thousands of dollars. A virtual hearing regarding the structural integrity of this building was held on December 10, 2020 at 9:00 AM.
