Mlynarski Grocery Store was run by a Polish man immigrant named Michael Mlynarski and his son Leo T. Mlynarski. He was the owner of that grocery store. Leo T. Mlynarski lived with his parents in the same building as his grocery store was located in at 4404 Torrence Avenue. His parents emigrated from Poland sometime during the early 20th century. One of the most notable events at this occurred when thieves stole 15 chickens from a coop at the rear of the store on the night of February 5, 1939. More chickens were stolen from this grocery store by thieves as well. (Ref: https://newspaperarchive.com/hammond-times-feb-19-1939-p-5/)

“Fifteen chickens were stolen Friday night by thieves who raided a coop at the rear of the Mlynarski grocery store at 4404 Torrence avenue, Hammond. Police said there were a cackle in the sackload of the fowls because the thieves twisted off the necks of the victims.”

Michael Mlynarski transferred ownership of Mlynarski Grocery Store to Leo T. Mlynarski in 1950. The grocery store would operate throughout the 1950s and the 1960s. Mlynarski Grocery Store had sold new tires at one point in time. Leo T. Mlynarski would operate Mlynarski Grocery Store until retiring around 1990.


Leo T. Mlynarski passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 1992. The property was sole by the heirs of the Mlynarski family to Kimberly Beidron and Stanley F Ignas around July 1992. However Kimberly Beidron assumed full ownership of the property. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/310359805/)



Kimberly Beidron incorporated a roofing business called Biedron Roofing Inc. as a domestic for-profit corporation in this former grocery store on the date of 4/3/1992. What was once a grocery store would now become headquarters for a roofing business. However Kimberly Beidron dissolved Biedron Roofing Inc. through an act of administrative dissolution on the date of 2/9/1996. The current operating status of Biedron Roofing Inc. is Admin Dissolved. This former roofing business and former grocery store was foreclosed on the date of 12/22/2010 as the property was put into liquidation for $29,000 on a warranty deed from IB Property Holdings. This former roofing business and grocery store was a bank owned property at one point. That is why this grocery store was abandoned for a long time. This former roofing business and former grocery store has gone through several owners over the years.  First Priority Consulting purchased this property from IB Property Holdings for the price of $49,900 dollars on 1/27/2011. First Priority Consulting sold the property to Indiana TLP LLC US B on a special deed of trust in 2016.

Leobardo Pacheco purchased this roofing business and former grocery store from Indiana TLP LLC US B for the price of $50,000 dollars on a warranty deed on the date of 12/13/2016. Salvador Feliciano Perez and Luis D Perez purchased this roofing business and former grocery store from Leobardo Pacheco for the price of $67,000 dollars on the date 10/25/2019. Salvador Feliciano Perez and Luis D Perez are the current owners of this former roofing business and former grocery store.
