Mixerr Album Reviews #2,468

Aphex Twin ‎– Syro is one of those albums that keeps getting better and better as you listen to it. Syro manages to sound both familiar or retro and incredibly futuristic at the same time. So you know this album has aged well. Every single track is perfectly mixed and accurately synchronized. The timbre of his music leaves much to be desired.

u473t8+e [141.98] (piezoluminescence mix) is a mixture of retro electro music and breakbeat IDM in one setting. A mixture of turntables are blended in with the synths.

minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix] is an electronic gem you do not want to miss out on listening to. The song has that retro electro edge. The song manages to sound both familiar or retro and incredibly futuristic at the same time. The timbre of his music leaves much to be desired.

The bonus track EndE2 is the hidden track on the Syro album which has a suspenseful haunting vibe over soft electronic beats. The track grows more and more suspenseful with a sense of uncertainty as you listen to it. The way Aphex Twin laid down the instrumentation is what made the song suspenseful, frightening, brooding, and foreboding.

MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96 was the obscure Syro bonus track on the Japanese edition of this release. Fans call this song one of his very best songs. The piano lead and vocals are very clear. Bass splatters are what textures are used.

I rate this album 5/5*****!!
