Mixerr Album Reviews #2,478

Alpha Pup Records brought out the best in electronic music and remixes with the album Take ‎– Only Mountain Remixes which was released in 2010. You can hear ethereal synths all over the place. Not to mention drum breaks, sampling, ultra-loud synths, and misty pads. The album uses updated technological production to suite the sound and vibe.

This is an experimental electronic instrumental album you do not want miss out on listening to. The album is worth the purchase. The album is one the most overlooked electronic albums of 2010.

If We All Don't Go Insane (Mux Mool Remix) uses much heavier bass than the original version. The beat is totally sick. You definitely do not want o miss out on listening to or streaming this song. Mux Mool produced the remix himself.

Neon Beams (Eliot Lipp Remix) uses a heavier touch of funk than the original. You can hear those laser gun synths and blips over the several layers of instrumentation. A touch of soul and funk is used of course. Those chords are thick too. This is one of the best remixes of this song.

Begin End Begin (Take Remix) uses a more piano based sound than the original version of Begin End Begin. Take put an electronic spin to this song. Several bell tones are used and mixed. There is very little silence.

Shigeto did produce and record an amazing remix of Implosions called Implosions (Shigeto Remix). His work on this amazing remix is really outstanding. You can tell he really put in a lot of work with this remix due to the thickness and density of those misty pads. Not to mention the numbers of synths he used. Implosions (Shigeto Remix) is such an amazing song.

The Anenon Remix of Incredibright is incredibly sick and out of this world. The sounds come from another planet. This remix is much different than the original. Incredibright (Anenon Remix) is an incredible remix.

The remix of Paper Garden called Paper Garden (Low Limit Remix) uses a Rhodes sample. You can hear those laser gun synths and blips all over the place as several layers of instrumentation are used. Take was inspired by music from Rhodes when he produced and recorded this song.

FaltyDL diced his remix of Begin End Begin into one funky electronic song. That was genius move. The remix is a favorite among Take fans.

Horizontal Figuration (TOKiMONSTA Remix) is a chill mellow remix of Horizontal Figuration hence the horizontal chillin’. The remix is ridden with heavy hitting beats that will pound your speakers. The remix is much different than the original.

I rate this album 4/5****!
