Short history behind Civic Park Cleaners in Flint, Michigan explored.

An Italian immigrant named John Capua Sr., Lester Bahle, and Gordon Bahle opened Civic Park Cleaners in 1920. John Capua Sr. owned and operated Civic Park Cleaners for many years. Civic Park Cleaners responsible for dry cleaning clothing and sewing.

Civic Park Cleaners was being operated by Lester Bahle and Gordon Bahle beginning in 1978. Lester Bahle and Gordon Bahle took over the business operations 3 years to John Capua Sr. retiring. Lester Bahle and Gordon Bahle also owned the property Civic Park Cleaners was located on as they purchased the property from him. Lester Bahle and Gordon Bahle closed Civic Park Cleaners sometime prior to 1986. On the date of December 8, 1987, Lester Bahle and Gordon Bahle sold the Civic Park Cleaners property to Horace W. Horace W. Morton and Jeri L. Morton sold the Civic Park Cleaners property to John H White and Ruby C White on a land contract for $17,000 dollars. John H White sold the bar property to Lionel Sylvester on the date of May 18, 2001. Part of which included the property at 2411 Dupont Street. John H White shut down Civic Park Bar some time around the middle of 2002. Civic Park Bar would become a nightclub called Da Spot which was owned and operated by Lionel Sylvester from 2003 to 2008. Sadly Civic Park Cleaners burned down in 2008 in an arson incident. The building was set on fire at night. In many of the arson cases in Flint, nobody had seen or heard anything. This case of arson was not unusual. Now this arson case was never solved. Nobody had seen anything or heard anything.

Civic Park Cleaners was demolished by Genesee County Land Bank in July 2009. Nothing remained of Civic Park Cleaners and surrounding businesses by the fall of 2009. Genesee County Land Bank currently owns the Civic Park Bar property.

According to foreclosure.com, the property where Civic Park Cleaners was once located has been foreclosed on twice during the 2010s decade.  he property was foreclosed on twice in 2012. Robert Quackenbush was forced to sell the land to Genesee County Land Bank in 2013. Genesee County Land Bank currently owns the land.
