What was located at 613 1st Avenue in New York City? One of New York City’s long lost liquor stores.

Not many people know this but there was a family owned and operated liquor store which was known precisely as a family liquor store. This liquor store operated during the 19th century and 20th century. This liquor store was located in a building that was on property owned by Michael Healy. On the date of November 6, 1904, is sister-in-law, Miss Ellenor McGarahan secured a portion of the estate of her brother-in-law for her children with help from the Supreme Court. She wanted half of her relative’s estate for the care of her children. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/20446084/)

Michael Healy promised to give to her a half-interest in all of the property in consideration of the $10,000 advanced and for bringing up the children. Three years before he died, he deeded the property over to his daughter, Elisa. Miss Ellenor McGarahan alleges that it was then agreed that she was to remain. Miss Ellenor McGarahan would finally come into the possession of all of the Healy estate. The parcels were sold to Ellenor McGarahan the sum of $10,000. The liquor store would dissolve in 1905.

This liquor store was located at 613 1st Avenue, New York, New York, US 10016.
