Elm Waterhole Cave is one of San Antonio’s caves that not as widely known by local residents. This news article will explain what Elm Waterhole Cave is.

Elm Waterhole Cave is a cave located inside of a water hole which is collectively known as 41BX300 which is a Middle Archaic site within Bexar County. Of course Elm Waterhole Cave is said to have a humid subtropical climate due to unsurprisingly being located at/inside of a water hole. Elm Waterhole Cave is said to be in a large inland body of standing water. The elevation is 342 meters below ground. (Ref: https://www.mindat.org/feature-4689066.html)

The specific location of Elm Waterhole Cave is located in/on a permeable lot with open space facing the intersection of Comanche Creek and Bright Skies behind a slope that is covered in a cement drainage easement. This drainage easement alleviates water to flow and stream inside of Elm Waterhole Cave which attracts insects. (Ref: Bexar County Public Records, Document Number 20150093186)

The cave was not known to be inhabited by other species of insect or any other known significant karst features.
