Thin Lizzy - Vagabonds of the Western World album review
Thin Lizzy - Vagabonds of the Western World is the best Irish rock album of 1973 which got overlooked by international audiences unfortunately. This Thin Lizzy album incorporates a bit of funk especially within the guitars.
The Hero and the Madman tells the fictional tale about the hero rescued his woman from the madman who was intentionally harming her.
The hero rode a white horse across the desert to where his woman was. He'd been riding for 4 days when he saw the tower where she was locked. He left his old steed in the moonlight near the drawbridge that he crossed. He tip-toed to where his woman was by way of a rope ladder.
The madman climbed the steeple spire when he spotted the hero. "Go higher," said the crowd from down below. The madman climbed the steeple spire. "Go higher, go higher," said the crowd from down below. "But the world's on fire," said the madman from the steeple spire. "You're a liar, you're a liar," said the crowd from down below. So the madman climbed the steeple spire and let a crystal ball tear fall on the crowd down below.
Vagabonds of the Western World told the story about a vagabond who was a playboy from the Western world.
One day by chance, this vagabond who was a playboy from the Western world, he came upon a fair young maid who was a country girl. He told her that he loved her. And then he took all of her silver. He told her that he needed her too. He said, "Hey baby, you got eyes of blue." The kind of eyes that say, "I do" eyes. But he was a vagabond.
He roamed around the cities searching for his fortune and fame. No lady ever got to know his name. But that was his game.
He gave a girl a baby boy. He said, "This child is my pride and joy. I'm busy running wild and free. Make sure he grows up like me."
He was a playboy of the western world. He wore an earring in his left ear. You see his father was a gypsy. You just might meet him upon the highway. He’s a pretty fine dancer too. But he leaves women blue. He'd leave you too.

Flash Cadillac - She's So Fine single review
Flash Cadillac - She's So Fine is a fine classic rock single from the 1950s with a poppy edge. His band created some nifty tunes throughout the 1950s. This single contained some those nifty songs recorded and written during that decade.
She's So Fine is about a fine girl Flash Cadillac has been searching for. He wants to make her his. But she said a guy was just a waste of time. The song uses a poppy edge of doo-wop.
Flash Cadillac has been searching for a girl. She’s wearing bobby socks and has a pony tail. When he saw her standing there he had to pick her up. He couldn't fail because he knew he had to make her his. She's so cool and fine.
He was thinking of things to say by strolling up to her to make his play with his words. He decided that he’d drive her home and call her later on the telephone because he knew he had to make her his. But she said a guy was just a waste of time. He's gonna lose that girl to Flash Cadillac. Just you wait and see!
This is how their telephone conversation went. “Maybe later we could make a date. It's gotta be tonight ‘cause I just can't wait. If he sees us holding hands, he'd be wise to understand.”
At the Hop is one of those 1950s classic rock songs with an upbeat dance tempo. This song was particularly popular at sock hops in America. The song was also popular among teenagers.
Well you can rock it you can roll it. You can stop and you can stroll it at the hop when the record starts spinnin’. Do the dance sensation that is sweepin' the nation at the hop. Let's go to the hop. Well, you can swing it you can groove it. You can really start to move it at the hop where the jockey is the smoothest. And the music is the coolest at the hop. All the cats and chicks can get their kicks at the hop. Let's go!

Debbie Gibson - Body, Mind, Soul album review
Debbie Gibson - Body, Mind, Soul is one of the lesser known albums of 1993 which was not a commercial success due to not being favorable among the public despite have the New Jack Swing sound that was popular at that time. Synth pop was no longer popular at the time since that subgenre was considered so last decade. Regardless of sales, Debbie Gibson put her mind, body, and soul into her Body, Mind, Soul album. She did a majority of the songwriting unlike her albums from the 1980s.
Love Or Money explained the story how a millionaire named Valentino from London, United Kingdom tried to sweep Debbie off her feet but she is in love with the small town boy she grew up with instead.
The boy Debbie grew up might be a small town boy but he is livin' large in her world. When he wraps his love around Debbie, he knows Debbie is his number one girl. He has traveled across the sea but it didn't mean that much to her. He is the star that makes me shine no matter where my heart may be. Do you need to know anything more than this?
A millionaire named Valentino from London, United Kingdom tried to sweep Debbie off her feet with a lear jet and a fancy car. But she rejected his offers to sweep her off her feet. If Valentino courted her to marry him in Rome, it may be tempting but he knows Debbie would rather stay home with him because he is still the one who makes her feel like a queen.
Debbie would never let the boy she loves go. She wouldn’t leave him for money and she wouldn’t leave him for love. She wouldn’t leave him for anything. Nothing in the world would make her do such things. Her love is endless.
Debbie attempts to convince her ex-boyfriend to give their relationship another try and start all over again on a fresh note. However Debbie was heartbroken and she could never love again since her boyfriend left her. That is what the song Do You Have It In Your Heart? is about.
Nothing seems right since Debbie’s ex-boyfriend walked out of her life. Love's a lost feeling that cuts just like a knife in her heart. Emptiness now surrounds her. And chains are all around her tonight because she is bound to his love which is her ex-boyfriend’s love. But when push comes to shove it seems just like an endless fight.
These lyrics attempt to explain how love is a lost feeling for Debbie.
Love's a lost feeling
That cuts just like a knife in my heart
Darlin' emptiness surrounds me now
And chains are all around me tonight
And I'm bound to your love
But when push comes to shove
It seems just like an endless fight
Debbie asks her boyfriend if he has it in his heart to give another try before they say goodbye to love that way they can try their relationship again. She asks him, “So tell me. Do you have it in your heart to give another try before we say goodbye to love? So that we can try again, baby. Do you have it in your heart? But baby if you have it in your heart, you will never part from me.” Maybe Debbie was too blind to see that their love could ever end.
Just the other night at the movie theater, Debbie saw her ex-boyfriend from a distance. But he didn't know.
Though time has passed, she can still read his face. She could tell that girl he is currently dating she made him feel so out of place. Debbie tells him, “Let's put our pride aside and try to be strong so we can put the pieces back where they belong. Baby, I'm losin' sleep and I'll be losin' much more if you don't walk back through my heart's door.”
Eyes Of The Child explored the lost innocence of childhood due to how cold our cruel world is. The song marked Debbie’s maturity as a person who was a young girl advancing to becoming a woman. The song also deals with coping with the loss of childhood innocence.
Gone are the days of ponytails and bobby socks. Gone are the days of saddle shoes and loafers. Lost are those childhood memories. Now Debbie must deal with a world that is real cold.
Debbie used to play dress up in her mother's clothes when she was a child. Now they are just her style. Can she find comfort looking through the eyes of a child with innocent smile? Are those days gone forever? Are they lost for good?

Debbie Gibson - Out of the Blue album review
Debbie Gibson - Out of the Blue was a chart topper of album for actress and singer Debbie Gibson back in 1987. However she only wrote 3 songs on the album. She did not contribute much in the way of songwriting. The album uses that flashy upbeat synth pop sound that was prevalent and popular in the 1980s. Hence the sweet love ballads.
Foolish Beat was a number #1 Billboard hit for which made Debbie Gibson the youngest person to not only sing a number-one hit but write and produce number #1 hit as well. The song discusses how Debbie was heartbroken and she could never love again since she left her boyfriend.
There was a time when broken hearts and broken dreams were over. There was a place where all you could do was wish on a 4 leaf clover. But now is a new time. There is a new place where dreams just can't come true. It started the day when Debbie left her previous lover.
Debbie could never love again the way that she loved him. Debbie was heartbroken and she could never love again since she left her boyfriend. She could never cry again like she did when she left him. The look in his eyes just left her beside herself without his heart. She could never love again now that they’re apart. It was too late to turn around. There was no reason. Just a foolish beat of her heart.
Play the Field explains how loving can be simple. Look around. The song was written from a woman’s perspective about love. Or in this case was Debbie Gibson’s perspective about finding love.
Loving can be simple. Look around. Ladies, just find a guy and settle down. Can it be so simple? It can be so simple. Look around because there is so much out there. There's a someone somewhere waiting for you. There's a someone somewhere that loves you. You will learn and you will find that loves you so dearly. There is so much out there when it comes in regards to love.
Play the field. You gotta look around for love. Loving is so real. Don't just settle down. Just play the field and leave what is behind. See what you can find. Loving can so be simple. Look around. There's a someone somewhere. There is so much waiting for you. You'll be loved many times. Don't waste your life on a dream. See what you can find.

Jon St. James - Trans-Atlantic album review
Jon St. James - Trans-Atlantic is a beautiful symphonic new wave synth pop album with popular 80s sounds. The production and engineering are perfect. The album has that tropical oceanic feeling, vibe, and sound.
Desperate Days is about the desperate days for young lovers. Jon St. James and his lover are the daring mighty survivors of love.
Jon St. James was an artist living in Paris at the time he met his 16 year old female lover. They had a great time off by the seaside where they drunk champagne until 3 AM in the morning. The woman he was dating was a casual chic dressing in every fashion. A trashy midnight fashion just for him. These lyrics are a fashion statement, “You started every fashion/Looking casual chic/A trashy midnight fashion just for me” Jon St. James and his lover are the daring mighty survivors of love.
He orders oysters and get saltines but looks unhappy. Yet everything's all right. She has got a lot of nervous energy electric that Jon is going to make her use on him. Just wait and see.
Jon gives her an offer for him to treat her to breakfast and tea for two weeks in Rio de Janiro, Brazil. He wrote her a letter but he’ll never send it. They spend cold nights on café corners drinking lonely 3 AM in the morning. Who wakes her in the morning? It's not Jon.
Playback is about a flashback Jon had when he was fell in love with his teenage babysitter when he was the age of 9. She was 17 when Jon was 9. He saw her take his sister to bed that time. He was young but he knew he’d want to play back her love for him. Playback, baby. She was his babysitter.
It's the coldest day yet in his life. She sits there with her Tanqueray and a cigarette. Jon demands she tell him what she knowns and tell him what she says. That is what the lyrics “Donne-moi ce que tu dis/Dis-moi ce que tu connais” mean. The lyrics “Donne-moi ce que tu dis/Dis-moi ce que tu connais” are French for “Tell me what you know/give me what you say”. He’s not gonna wait around for her to play back her love for him. But she walk aways and leaves Jon here in misery.
Playback is a polyphonic sound. It's the shape of things. It's a very modern century that we're living in. It's the supersonic look of the things to come. It's the jet age now that we're coming from. Play it in the studio and play it in on the radio.
The Girl Who Seduced the World is about a girl Jon loved that is now gone. She is the only girl that he would love.
Jon was working at an engineering firm engineering. She was waiting there. Fragrance was in the air. She didn't leave a message on his telephone machine. She was playing hide and seek and hard to get with him. Jon won't be coming home tonight because he’s gotta work tonight.
She is the girl who seduced the world. After all is said and done, she is the only one Jon loves.
Jon is the lonely one after love has come undone. When he talks to her and tells her that he’d rather look into her eyes and love her like a lover should. However it only makes her cry. Now the lip gloss on the mirror is her lone goodbye. The lyrics served as symbolism of her absence. “Now the lip gloss on the mirror is your lone goodbye”
Jon found a house that's kinda nice on the outside of New England. She could do the inside and he will build a studio. They'll take 2 weeks in France or maybe in Japan.
Now that love has come undone, Jon is the lonely one. Jon didn't know the precious moments that he was wasting. He was unaware of the precious moments that he was wasting. It's another empty song. Just a record on the wall.
The girl he was dating when racing in a Porsche 911 in the night. Her death wish on her right as fire scorched the highway. Blood and broken glass was everywhere. The shattered dreams die fast. Now Jon can't drive her home tonight or take the car tonight.

James Wallace – Be Mine / Take A Chance On Me single review
James Wallace – Be Mine / Take A Chance On Me is a classic funky neo-soul single that many people of Flint remember and regard highly as a very underrated classic by most people. 80s funk and soul leaves to be desired to the mind.
The single had two funky love ballads called Be Mine and Take A Chance On Me. Be Mine was the A side and Take A Chance On Me was the B side. Be Mine / Take A Chance On Me was issued as a 12” inch vinyl in 1983 on the Darco Records (Darco Productions) label. As a label, Darco Productions put out a small string of singles during the 80s in Flint. These singles hardly made waves outside of Flint.
Be Mine is a slow subtle love song with a sweet vibe. Two words to describe Be Mine is beautiful and sweet. To many Bedrock residents, Be Mine is regarded as a very underrated classic. There’s a woman in James dreams. She is his everything. James is shy but can’t let her slip on by. It’s clear that he want her to be his lover.
Michael West sang the background vocals on Be Mine. It’s truly amazing how when Michael sings that it sounds like 3 people singing. That’s talent and technology right there. His singing talent leaves much to be desired to one’s ears. Danny Singleton played the drums on this song.
Take A Chance On Me uses a mixture of funk and blues. A blues guitar is used at the very beginning of this song. Blues and funk make a good mixture.

Gry & FM Einheit - Public Recording album review
Gry & FM Einheit - Public Recording is one of the lesser known electro swing albums that got overlooked by fans of jazz music and the public in general. The album has super loud swinging jazz production set a loud volume which makes the album very lively. Rocket, Coctailsm, Ray, Ego, and Summer Wine are the highlights of the album.
Rocket explained singer Gry’s mission for a little sun.
It was a cold grey afternoon. Gry is on a mission for a little sun. She raced with cars, the bike, and the train only to come cold back again. Through pockets. Under beds in the closet. In the fridge everywhere and over all in it. Then suddenly the stars fell down one by one and undressed the big blue room. Her oneway to escape out through the horizontal verticalling movements in the blue sky. Boom, boom. Rocket to the moon.
Gry returned from the jungle with a glass full of stars. She got sunshine in her pockets. She brought it back to spray the day and a fist full of glow. She has traveled thoughts. She traveled light. She traveled in/with time. On a cold grey afternoon, she caught a spot of the sun of the moon.
Summer Wine was the song which featured Alexander Hacke who was the bassist of German industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten. The song is about Alexander Hacke and Gry having a date over delicious tasty wine. The song is an Alexander Hacke and Gry duet.
Alexander Hacke walked into town on silver spurs that jingle too. Gry saw his silver spurs and said, “Let’s pass some time and I will give to you summer wine.” Gry’s summer wine is really made from all these things. Strawberry, cherries, and an angel kissing spring. Her summer wine is really made from all these things. She tells him, “Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time and I shall give to you summer wine.”
His eyes grew heavy and his lips would not speak. He tried to get up but he couldn’t find his feet. She reassured him with an unfamiliar line when she gave to him more summer wine. When Alexander woke up, the sun was shinning in his eyes. His silver spurs were gone. His head felt twice it size. She took his silver spurs-the dollar and the dime. And left him craving for summer wine.

Geek & Noise s/t album review
Geek & Noise’s self-titled debut album would have been a hit if the album was released on its anticipated release date on Dangerous Records. The tracks are Trickeration, The Game of Mack'N, Hittin' Switches, Buck 'Em Down, Do Your Thing, Gangsta Style Rappin', and Got Dam They Ruthless. Bbut that didn't happen due to financial reasons with Dangerous Records. Ronnie Ron was favoring certain artists such as Young Soldierz and Lil Hawk.
Geek & Noise (Captain Geek & DJ Noise) were rappers that did not make the Bangin' On Wax cut during the auditions in 1992, so they were accepted on board as producers for Dangerous Records at the time. They were a part of Tweedy's Underworld Connection (UWC) from 1991 to 1993 and then they split. They did have tracks they saved over the years for what was supposed to be for their debut album, which were unreleased and appeared on RRLGA for some reason. The tracks are Trickeration, The Game of Mack'N, Hittin' Switches, Buck 'Em Down, Do Your Thing, Got Dam They Ruthless, and Gangsta Style Rappin' were supposed to be for their debut album.
Buck Em Down is a track in-house production team Geek & Noise produced and rapped. The song Buck Em Down is about criminal activity and social injustice. Geek and Noise used the sample Johnnie Taylor - Disco Lady throughout the entire song. Buck Em Down has that early 90s hip hop/rap sound. The same sample is used on Kill Crabs 4 Fun on Blood Mary’s Day of Resurrection album from 2003. Buck Em Down features Sin Loc.
Send Geek to Folsom, Chino, Soledad, or Pelican Bay, he’ll kill another punk when gets he out of jail. Jail does not faze him. Gangsters raised him to be a soldier on this concrete battlefield. Geek earns stripes for those he kills. Now they wanna call it a truce. But what’s the use when he is still packing heat? So don’t send Geek to Folsom, Chino, Soledad, or Pelican Bay.
Now check out the criminal who’s never been a convict. That’s DJ Noise. The law enforcement catches cases but the cases never stick to Noise. The district attorneys (DAs) reject the cases and so the judges. Every time a 187 (California criminal code for homicide killing) jumps off, Geek and Noise become #1 suspects. Geek is the gangsta with stripes who kills at night. Noise is the out the criminal who’s never been a convict. He is a crafty criminal. There is no stopping Noise or Geek.
A minute and a half (1:30) into the track is when Hit Man D gets his verse. Sin Loc makes the track worthwhile listening to and a classic. Every track Sin Loc is on suddenly is a classic.
Hit Man D hates to gun a motherfucker down, but when push comes to shoves, he’ll gun that motherfucker down. Sin hates being rejected and disrespected. He wants to be respected. He ll gun down motherfuckers down that disrespect him.
Sin Loc gives his audience an English class lesson on grammar more than halfway into the track. This is where Hit Man D (Sin Loc) makes Buck Em Down a classic. Listen closely to the lyrics and you will find educational words that are structure of the English language. Terms “verb”, “adjective”, and “noun” are words used to define grammar inside structure of the English language. The Sin Loc verse “Like the time I had to shoot this motherfucker dead in his face” made Buck Em Down a classic to enjoy.
Listen closely to the lyrics listed inside these verses below.:
I take action like a verb and fire like an adjective
To put a noun in its place
Like the time I had to shoot this motherfucker dead in his face
For trying to front me in front of a few bitches
I let that shit slide
An adjective is a word or phrase naming an attribute. Adjectives can be modified in order to describe someone or something. An adjective is grammatically related to a noun or pronoun. An adjective is added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.
Nouns is used to describe or identify a person, place, or thing. Nouns can be used to describe people, places, or things.
Verb is a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence. Verb is a predicate of a sentence in other words.
Gangsta Style Rappin uses gangster style rapping of gangsta rap that would be considered too hard by many rappers due to today’s musical climate and political correctness. This was the hardest song on the album which heavily relied on the funky bounce sample of Zapp - More Bounce To The Ounce. Now the beats were produced by Geek & Noise themselves save for the Zapp sample.
The song was recorded during the Watts Riots in 1992 after the courts found the police officers who beat down Rodney King not guilty of police brutality. So there is a bit of tension in the song given the time period of recording.
Geek & Noise use hardcore explicit gangster style rapping of gangsta rap in their lyrics as evidenced in these lyrics shown below. These lyrics use quotable dialogue.
(DJ Noise)
My name is DJ Noise and he’s down with the Captain
So hop in the ship and take a trip as we dip
I’m loading up my clip because niggaz is quick to ship out a pistol
And then try to clown
So before he make a move
I gun his ass down
To let him know Geek and Noise ain’t even for that shit
(DJ Noise)
I told him I’m a gangster with drama like DeNiro
When my .9 is empty, I got my .380
Noise stay strapped
Yeah it’s only right
(DJ Noise)
Shit is getting hectic
Nigga, I thought you knew
It’s time to peep game because it’s real
Living in South Central you kill or be killed
That make you want to live like Charles Bronson
Because niggas be death wishing
Because right now DJ Noise is on a mission
A lunatic soon to click
(DJ Noise)
Captain Geek, why don’t you step on the mic and do some gangsta style rappin?
(Captain Geek)
It’s that gangsta rhyme spitta
Come in
Captain Geek on the mic, fool
I’m squeezing triggas
I wreck on your whole crew
And smoke every one of you suckers with my .44
Leave ‘em dead on the flo
(Captain Geek)
Out the place because the whole lick was slick
(Captain Geek)
Captain Geek is going to molest you
when I draw down and blast with my .30-30 Winchester
(Captain Geek)
I’m Captain Geek on the mic and my magnum’s loaded
(Captain Geek)
You better keep running, young punk
Because we’re gunning South Central style
Blowing off heads
(DJ Noise)
I peep game on you sorry rapping faggots
You make me want to draw with my semiautomatic
These were the quotable lyrics used in the song.
I be smoking motherfuckers everyday of the week
Out the place because the whole lick was slick
I’m Captain Geek on the mic and my magnum’s loaded
I peep game on you sorry rapping faggots
Point blank range is the motherfucking aim
Shit is getting hectic
You make me want to draw with my semiautomatic
The Game of Mack'N was a track from in-house production team Geek & Noise. They both produced and rapped. It’s a rap about having the freshest cloths and freshest hoes. Mainly living the fast life. Kev-Vo is the man singing on the soulful chorus.
Hittin’ Switches is a Geek & Noise track that is Zapp inspired hence the More Bounce to the Ounce sample. Perfect for the car freaks and car hoppers. Most of their tracks are Zapp inspired hence the usage of samples from Zapp songs. Trickeration is a track Geek and Noise produced and rapped on. The same sample is heard on the track Put Dat On Da B from Bloody Mary - Day of Resurrection in 2003.
