Mixerr Album Reviews #737

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review The Prodigy EP by Lil Keesha from 2006.

This EP is a collection of 6 songs that showcase the amazing vocal talents of Lil Keesha. She’s like a 15 year old Mariah Carey who can hit all the high notes. Her 4 octave range is amazing when she is on display! Her octaves are heavenly. Her octaves are amazing when she sings.

The EP starts off with a cover version of 1978 Oscar Award winning song Donna Summer - Last Dance. Last Dance has that old school disco pop skating rink type of feel to it. Dance meets pop on Last Dance. She sings the same notes and keys. Her octaves are amazing when she sings the notes Donna Summer sang. Plus Last Dance is a track to get up and dance to.

Lil Keesha showcases her 4 octave range on ballad Heaven Knows. This is where Lil Keesha really shines. The ballad Heaven Knows is similar to a Mariah Carey ballad. Heaven Knows is an original by Lil Keesha.

On the track Anxious, Keesha's girlfriend introduces her to a guy but doesn't want to appear too anxious or nervous. So she panders on how she should handle the situation. She looks for a way on how she can handle the pressure of being in love. Henceforth the title. Anxious is a love song obviously.

Overall, Lil Keesha raises the bar in her singing and in her status on this particular EP paving way for artists such teenage singers as herself. Many more have chosen this path in the future.

I rate this EP, The Prodigy, 4/5****!
