History of Flint Second Church explored.

Flint Second Church facing Chavez Drive.Flint Second Church is one of the many forgotten churches of Flint, Michigan that has been long forgotten. The history of this church has not been very well preserved. Flint Second Church also went under the name of Roosevelt Avenue Free Methodist Church and Roosevelt Free Methodist Church as both churches had shared the same property.

This church was established at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Chavez Drive near Willow Street sometime possibly during the 1920s. The church was established by free thinking Methodists in Flint. There was a lack of Methodist churches in the area at that time. Roosevelt Free Methodist Church built on the same property as Roosevelt Free Methodist Church only this church building faced Chavez Drive.

Flint Second Church was the first name for this church before becoming Roosevelt Free Methodist Church. Their addresses were 1233 Roosevelt Avenue and 1237 Roosevelt Avenue. Roosevelt Free Methodist Church was located across the parking lot at 1237 Roosevelt Avenue. The original address for Flint Second Church was first known as 1237 Roosevelt Avenue.
