Transient Games. A look at an abandoned game store in Volente, Texas.

 Transient Games was a game shop ran by Larry Freeman from 2007 to 2009 and was operated inside of the former VJ’s Grocery building during that time. Not much information is known about this obscure game store. This news article will explain and explore some information behind this game store.

Transient Games was incorporated and opened on the date of August 14, 2007 by Larry Freeman aka Larry Dillon Freeman/Larry D. Freeman inside of a building which once served as VJ’s Grocery at the address of 15401 FM 2769, Volente, TX 78641. (Ref: Travis County Deeds, Instrument #2007086679)

Now the building which once served as VJ’s Grocery was also home to an array of a few other businesses such as Transient Games, VJ’s Cafe, Vel’s, Spradley Grocery, and Westbound Highway.

Transient Games was located on the upper level of the building were seating for the cafe was. Transient Games also used the lower level when space was available or needed. The company Transient Games specialized in board games and software.

The property was foreclosed on later in 2008 and the land was transferred to Larry Feingersh on a transfer of lien by Black Rock Management and JEM Advisory Group, LLC. Black Rock Management and JEM Advisory Group, LLC would transfer the land and buildings to Larry Feingersh. Rick Feingersh was one of the managers. Transient Games still operated despite the foreclosure.

According to records and documentation from Travis County Deeds, Transient Games was dissolved through an act of administrative dissolution by Larry D. Freeman on the date of February 4, 2009 according to an abandonment of assumed names certificate. 2009 was around the same time the building which once served as VJ’s Grocery became abandoned.
