Martha Mack Cemetery was established in 1909. A Sanborn map dating back to 1911 lists Martha Mack Cemetery as a negro cemetery under the bold caption of “MARTHA MACK CEMETERY NEGRO” located on what was then known as Colliers Ferry Road and is now Elm Street. Martha Mack Cemetery was named after a 19th-century African-American Beaumonter, who was a woman named Martha Mack. She was a socialite, historian, and philanthropist from the 19th century. Her work was widely known in Beaumont. The cemetery is adjacent to Magnolia Cemetery on Pine Street, but is no longer used today.
