The building shows influence of the Gothic Revival style from that time period. That is due to the grand entry stairs. Unfortunately the grand entry stairs were removed earlier taking away some of the structural integrity and cultural significance of the church building.
The Antioch Baptist Church was abandoned in 1982 when Antioch Baptist Church moved to a different location within the city limits of Beaumont. This lead the church building to be slated for demolition. Fortunately however, the church was saved and renovated into loft apartments in 2008. The loft apartments would open in 2009. Today Antioch Baptist Church the only remaining African-American religious structure in Downtown Beaumont. (Ref: https://downtowntx.org/beaumont-texas/527-forsythe-st-beaumont-tx-77701)
