Revealing history behind the Annona Vocational Agriculture Building in Annona, Texas.

The Annona Vocational Agriculture Building was constructed in 1938 to educate high school students were engaged in agricultural vocational training or who wanted agricultural vocational training.  

 

Clarksville Times reported that there was homemaking building of Annona Junior High School and Annona High School. The homemaking building of Annona Junior High School and Annona High School was located next to the Annona Vocational Agriculture Building. Paris News advertised the Annona Vocational Agriculture Building as up for sealed bids by Clarksville Independent School District in the Paris News Classified section on Sunday, May 25, 1975. The Annona Vocational Agriculture Building was sold in a sealed bid during that time. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/9734196/)

“The Board of Trustees of Clarksville Independent School District will accept bids on two buildings to be torn down and removed from the property by August 16, 1975. The buildings are located in Annona, Texas, and are known as the old Annona High School Building and the old Annona Vocational Agriculture Building. Bids will be received at the Superintendent of Schools Office, Box 1016, Clarksville, Texas 75426 until 4:00 p.m. on June 12,1975. Clarksville ISD Board of Trustees reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.”

The Board of Trustees of Clarksville Independent School District accepted bids on the Annona Vocational Agriculture Building to be torn down and removed from the property by August 16, 1975. So the Annona Vocational Agriculture Building was demolished and removed in 1975. (Ref: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/9730029/)
